I made it 36% of the way into the book and i couldn’t keep going. I was so confused. Literally none of it tied together. I had so many questions. The plot wasn’t at all developing into. a cohesive story. I felt like I was in the middle of the series and it was only book one. It was a bad story written well with a good blurb
This omegaverse was completely different compared to what I have read and I applaud this author for doing something so different in this universe. I enjoyed this book, it was intriguing and I couldn't stop turning the pages as I wanted to know what happened next. *** Jaide, a 24yo Omega - hiding as best she and her Alpha brother Jett can in this dystopian, lust filled new world. Jett, takes it upon himself to sell himself for 6 months so they can have food to eat and a way for Jaide to escape to an Omega sanctuary to be safe. When the checks stop coming some after he's sold, Jaide thinks the worst and attempts to sell herself with hope she can find her brother and get answers. ((Selling yourself to a Synian (vampire) is made a trade of sorts. They get your blood and you get the sexual euphoria from their bite.))
Jaide now trapped in this world finds herself bound and auctioned. Only she never could have imagined who her new owners are. Aldric, Parris and Garret, all Synian Kings of their coven. Her new masters. She soon finds her fate isn't as human as she thought and the 4th Synian King has escaped with Jett. When she finds out Synians drinking the blood of an Omega during heat is cause for death, she soon realizes she's in over her head. Not everyone is what they seem. Aldric is out for blood. Parris is as lustful as they come but starting to have feelings. Garret is closed off and holding out for another.
When Jaide is forced to escape and a Synian uprising occurs, she finds herself trapped in the land of Fae. Is she safe? Will her 3 strong Alphas protect her? What does her future hold? Can Aldric find a way back from the bloodlust? **** This book was very interesting. I wanted to know what happened next. I'm a bit confused with Healynas (The Synian Slayer) vs Fae. Are they the same thing? And there is so many different fae, yet were all named Fae as a whole?... I just have so many questions I am hoping are answered in book 2. Also - do the guys really have true feelings or is it just her blood and the fact that she's an Omega. There's no real romance at all, and I am hoping to see that change in book 2. The ending was a total cliffhanger, as I have no idea what happened!! lol. I also want Jaide to turn into a stronger FMC.
That being said, this was a great start to a series and I am curious to see how this plays out in book 2.
*Overall 3.5/5 *Heat? 3.5/5 *Fast Burn *First person POV (all main characters) *Triggers, Yes. Check before *Ends on cliffhanger
TLDR; I'm very confused and this book needs some help. There are ideas here, but it’s hard to even evaluate them. I understand how authors can be like “it’s SUPPOSED to be confusing!” or “it’s SUPPOSED to be mysterious!” or even “the characters don’t understand yet!” But there’s a difference between being intentionally mysterious and being so confusing your readers abandon the book. Even if it’s on purpose, it’s not done well here.
Spoilers below!
1 – World Building At it’s base this is an A/O book, but we don’t have any explanation of how the dynamic works in this world. Are there alphas and omegas of all races? Why is it bad for her to go into heat? Do bites force a bond to form? What do the bonds do? Are frenzy's painful? How long do they last and how can they be stopped? Does she enjoy all sexual attention regardless of the person? We have no basis for trying to understand if the interactions in this book are normal to them or not.
I think it would have been helpful to see the current world and establish an understanding of how it’s set up and functions before Jaide enters the brothel. That way her character could be established before we were exposed to all of the NEW information about the rebellion or whatever the reason is for the characters going against Healynas. Less confusion that way and more time for the reader to understand the world and the context of the story within it. I also think this would have been a reality check to the author that her character wasn’t built in a way that could actually survive in any universe, let alone this vicious one she created.
2 – Jaide (FMC) Jaide unfortunately is just stupid. She has no reasoning skills and even when she does try to reason things out, her reasons aren’t convincing to the audience and don’t make sense. Why did she sign a contract when she walked into the brothel? Why didn’t she just attack the secretary? Wasn’t she there to “rescue” her brother? She never even asks about him, if she can see him, if he’s there, etc. She just waltzes in and asks for a contract and then signs it without reading, despite being told several times to read it carefully. Even though we’ve ALSO established this is a deadly, horrible place because Jaide TELLS the reader that!
She is stupid, clumsy, and an omega, and that’s about it for her character traits. She’s kind of just in scenes, they just happen TO her, and she's mostly there for slapstick comedic relief. She falls often and occasionally shouts random things that I think are supposed to be funny. But they’re only “funny” because they’re random and weird. Same with the constant mention of cocks in every paragraph – couldn’t tell it was supposed to be funny, but it just became obnoxious.
3 – Smut Scenes The sexy scenes didn’t even seem fun. I understand the omegaverse trope of biology over consent. If you want to write that, that’s fine. But Jaide never actually seemed to biologically enjoy it either?? I think she came a total of 3 times throughout the whole book, once with Garret and twice with Aldric but they both seemed like accidents.
There was never any build up in any of the scenes. No mention of pleasure building, or her body reacting pleasurably, no working towards a finish even if it’s against her consent. No positive adjectives at all were used in the writing of this story. At no point did I think Jaide was enjoying any of it, and so there was no real way for me as a reader to enjoy it either.
Let me give an example that I think ties all of these things together. Jaide is being kept away from Aldric because he is evil. It’s not clear why but it IS established he is to stay away from her. Garret and Parris even stand outside her door to guard it against him. Okay, I can accept that he’s evil even if I don’t really understand why.
Aldric somehow gets in without anyone knowing, does his thing which could have been hot but isn’t because Jaide only talks about it being painful. But okay, he’s evil, so I can accept that too.
Jaide’s now left in frenzy by Aldric. She legitimately tries to help herself through her frenzy with the assistance of toys, but can’t because she says there’s no space for anything else to fit inside her. So she just sits and suffers. Okay, I can accept that, and I even think it's interesting and unique of her for trying to help herself.
Now in comes Parris, who was guarding her door against Aldric because he didn’t want Aldric getting his hands on Jaide. Time for a fun, sexy scene where he brings her down from the frenzy the evil Aldric caused, right?
Surprise! Parris doesn’t do ANYTHING. He just comes in the room, sees her situation and is like “wow that sucks” and gets himself off before leaving her exactly how he found her. No reaction to Aldric succeeding in touching her. Parris can magically make himself fit inside her and she doesn’t even finish? She doesn’t even talk about enjoying it??? Didn’t it just make things worse for her frenzy???????
That about sums it up. There’s nothing sexy about any of the sex scenes because she never seems to enjoy it, so how can I possibly enjoy it as a reader? What’s there to like about any of the characters when I don’t understand them even a little? What's normal and what's not in this world? So much confusion.
Other basic things I still wanted to mention:
1 – Staging The Scene There is a distinct lack of description when it comes to staging scenes that made it difficult for me to understand what was happening. Some of the positions people were “placed” in didn’t even seem physically possible, and I was never sure if I was picturing anything correctly. Where is everyone and how are they moving about the scene?
2 – Grammar and Spelling Sentences without punctuation. Spelling mistakes. Enough said.
Jaide and Jett are twins trying to survive on their own in a dystopian world where omegas like Jaide are hunted and discarded once they fulfilled their role as breeders. When all seems lost, Jett decides to sell himself on the blood market, but when he turns up missing Jaide decides to go looking for him. Unfortunately no good deed goes unpunished, and Jaide ends up sold to three kings who might drain her dry within days...
This start of a new multiple POV omegaverse series is dark and twisted, but also hilarious at times. While this book has a lot of triggers to classify it as a dark romance, this is also the most I have laughed out loud while reading in the last six months. The things Jaide thinks, does and says in the most inappropriate times are absurdly funny. The author created an interesting world, mysterious characters and I am looking forward to finding out more about both in the next books. The better Jaide knows her men, the more her sass comes out and I am absolutely thrilled with all the possibilities for the next books.
If you like dark omegaverse RH with a sassy heroine, I absolutely recommend reading this one!

I tried, really. Got to 51% and I stopped. I enjoy omegaverse novels, but not this one. The story was not cohesive for me and was not my cup of tea.
The FL is trying to find her brother in a vampire den that’s basically a sex dungeon. She’s an omega and risks her safety and virginity to find him, hoping she’ll just be in and out. Instead, what happens is she signs a contract and gets effed over, because she didn’t read it well enough to know what she got herself into.
When she tries to leave after signing the contract, she gets captured. Then she’s bound naked with her peach up in the air, trapped and gawked at by strangers, while they bid on her. Three vampire kings buy her and claim her as their mate, but that doesn’t stop them from sleeping with other people.
She starts feeling sexual immediately, like where was the build up? And the things that happened made me scoff and roll my eyes a lot. The male vampires, I couldn’t understand them fully. If their stories are further along, I’m not getting to it I guess. Each chapter is a different POV and tbh I got lost on who was who besides the FL. I skimmed a bit through the chapters because it just couldn’t grab my attention and decided to DNF.
Check TW/CW because there are a lot of those.

This is not those soft and sweet Omegaverse stories you might have read. It's dark, gritty, raw, and twisted. It's what I would say what an Omegaverse society would be in a dystopian world.
I love that the author includes in trigger warning clause some important things like one "darkness" may be another's "light and cheery". Also she changes all the "a" and "i" with "@" and "!" In words like "pl@y" to kind of force you to pay attention and read the message.
It looks like this story is just the beginning of a very beautiful nightmare or dream (depending on your flavor of kink). Either way, I personally felt like I stumbled on a new favorite author to add to my "Must Watch for New Stuff" shelf, as one I was done reading this book I quickly read through I the books I could find available currently by the author. Fun stuff

I am staring at the ending asking myself what just happened. Holy crap. I wasn’t ready. This book was spicy. So darn hot.
I loved how fearless Jaide was….even when she didn’t have the skill set, falls over her own feet, and everyone is stronger her there. She doesn’t care. Loyalty is the only thing that matters, and her brother Jett has it. She quickly finds she’s over her head, drawn into the Blood Auction, stripped of her rights, and starting a whole new life. A life of orgasms, her Omega needs, and Alphas that confuse her. There’s so much intrigue and history that she doesn’t understand that just may get the best of her.
I was so focused on getting answers, following Alyx down the rabbit hole, that I ignored all of the warning signs. All the quickly I was thrown over the cliff and need more. Gah! I’m completely in love with this series and need more.
Super crazy, fast pace, omega verse, vampire, royal Society. I actually really enjoyed this book at the very start, but then got totally upset that one of the Main male characters just got cast aside because he’s a little bit unhinged and I wanted him to come back so much so especially because he was the daddy of the group. if you like possessive/psychotic males and also a little bit of sibling rivalry add it to your library.
This is the first book that I have read by this author and it absolutely blew me away. I am looking forward to the next instalment. Great characters, lots of steam, vampires and more - what else could you ask for!

This book combines omegaverse with paranormal in a dark, entertaining story that will leave you breathless. It is definitely not for the faint of heart but if you love the genres and steamy sex you will love this book.

Unfortunately for me I just didn't gel with the story. The actual storyline is interesting and completely different to what I've read before in the Omegaverse worlds. It's dark and gritty and has plenty of wtf moments but whether it was the writing style or the lack of editing, something just isn't working.
2.5 ⭐️ Saw a quote from this book and immediately picked it up. It was kind of misleading. The world building is a lot. And I don’t really know who we should be rooting for? There’s also multiple sex scenes with other women and I’m not into that. Also for 90% of the book she doesn’t leave her room… I was hoping to love this but it’s just not for me
A surprisingly deep lore with some solid world building and magical systems, my main issue is the sheer amount of spelling and grammar concerns. If this book gets the edit it deserves, I can see myself rereading it. Hopefully book 2 will keep up the complexity of the secrets and plans we've glimpsed at so far.
First of all, Jaide is the QUEEN of one liners. I cracked up every time she came up with a new one. I loved every part of this book, but that was my absolute favorite part. There is tons of smutty smexxy time and super hot monsters. Beware of the cliffhanger, but book two is out and in KU so at least there won't be a wait!
Omegaverse at its finest! The inner dialogue of the main character and the situations she finds herself in a very amusing! Four mysterious alphas, encroaching war and sin…a lot of sin! A lovely romp!
Oh boy, this one needs all the blood, BDSM, and dubcon CW's and TW's. Not for the faint of heart. I wanted to like the story but so much of the world building felt half-assed and with too many holes. The ending felt very much like a soap opera reveal.

This was honestly one of the spiciest romance novels I’ve ever read. I’m really glad the author went maximum spice on this one! I recommend it to people looking for lots of spice, but do check the trigger warnings. Can’t wait for the second book!
