My theory that journalists write better history books than academics holds true with this one.

Author does a great job illustrating the horrors of daily life in Lebanon, and the political dynamics the US involved itself with in 1982-84 while trying to dismantle the warfare.

There is a lot of information about the Middle East. It's a history lesson and personal account all rolled into one. It's what I would call a "heavy" read. Found it fascinating but also a bit tough to to get through in certain parts.
