Violet wakes in an abandoned laboratory with little to no memory of who she is or how she got there. Slowly her memories return to her as she finds her way home. As she searches for answers about her past Violet is hunted by creatures that are near impossible to kill...for normal people anyway. Violet isn't normal though, not anymore.
Finally. A post apocalyptical adult fantasy without smut…. but a little bit of …. spice.
It was long enough to occupy my time for a few days but not so long that you’d really have to commit.
A few months after reading it the first time I had to go back and read it again during my vacation. It really helped me get through my fear of flying, 😅 I was so absorbed in the storyline I didn’t feel the normal anxieties I usually have.
Ashley paints a very vivid picture of the landscapes and the people you encounter throughout the book. The characters are also relatable.
Typically when I’m reading a fantasy I find myself yelling at the protagonist when they do something stupid, but I truly felt that if I was dropped in the middle of this story I could easily slip into violets skin because the way she reacts to challenges and her environment is similar to how I would react and deal. She’s very relatable. … despite the fact that she’s a mutant. 😅
Also… I just want to say that I have a big time crush on Allen. And I really hope Ashley continues writing and turns this book into a series. ☺️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
