Book two of the Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club...

Someone has hacked past Brain’s firewalls and sold the MC’s information. Brain and Bash are on a mission to catch the hacker, find out who hired him, and then make him pay.

Until Brain discovers the hacker is a woman, and just as smart as him. She’s so clever, he chases her a full week before he finally catches her.

She’s the enemy, and yet his wolf wants to protect her from Bash. Worse, his wolf is beginning to decide he wants to claim her.

This isn’t going to be pretty.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Candace Blevins writes urban fantasy, paranormal romance, epic fantasy contemporary BDSM romance, and two kick-ass motorcycle club series. She’s published more than fifty books. Candace lives with her husband of twenty-four years and their two teenaged daughters. The family’s beloved, goofy, retired racing greyhounds are usually at her side as she writes, quietly keeping her company. Or sometimes not so quietly.

Her urban fantasy series, Only Human, gives us a world where weredragons, werewolves, werelions, three different species of vampires, and a variety of other mythological beings exist.

Candace's various paranormal romance series are all sister series to the Only Human series, and give some secondary characters their happily ever after.

Her Dark(ish) Faerie Tale series gives us a close-up and personal look at Queen Mab, and her Dark Underbelly series is, as you’d expect, dark and (if you’re a little twisted) oh-so-yummy.

Her contemporary Safeword series gives us characters who happen to have some extreme kinks. Relationships can be difficult enough without throwing power exchange into the mix, and her books show characters who care enough about each other to fight to make the relationship work. Each couple in the Safeword series gives the reader a different take on the lifestyle.

Ice to Harmony…with a little help from Brain

Brain, Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Cub Book 2, was a very hard book to say I like. So far this was Candace Blevins best work in my opinion but the main subject was hard to take and some of the main characters who were the “goodies” I detested. We are introduced to the heroine Ice when she is kidnapped by the club as punishment and to gain information from her. Brain our “hero” is in charge of the kidnapping. They feel an instant attraction to each other and find out they have a lot in common. Obviously, the situation they are in is not conducive to starting a relationship so obstacles and challenges are in their way before they can even think of each other as anything other than enemy.

For most people reading this story I would think that the main issues and triggers would be around the descriptions of abuse that Ice had faced before she even met the club. No, I did not enjoy reading them. They were traumatic and horrific and made me feel great sympathy for her. My biggest struggle was the humiliation and degradation that Ice faced at the hands of RTMC. The situation was handled terribly and made me extremely dislike Brain, Duke, Bash and Gonzo. By the half way point I had made some way in forgiving Brain for the part he played because he had improved Ice’s situation. Ice had changed her name to Harmony and was getting over her past trauma. The other members of the club also moved into a more favourable position in my eyes by helping her when she needed it.

So, I had reached a stage where I had almost forgiven Brain, Duke, Bash and Gonzo when Brain takes the first bomb dive.

Brain was a well written story with some very hard situations to read. The beginning and the end were impossible for me to enjoy but the middle had some beauty to it. We see Ice become Harmony and see her gain strength and determination in facing her demons with Brain always there to help. This was a darker read than what I originally expected and Candace Blevins does not sugar coat the experience.

This review is very late in coming. I really enjoyed this book. It wasn't at all I expected. I guess I knew Brain was from a family that could be quite rich. I also knew he had MAD hacking skills which always turns me on. To find a woman who could keep up with him would be Ice. She's someone who has been hacking for a while and making good money. The problem is that she's constantly on the run with different groups after her.

This story is great with suspense. What really threw me was Ice's back story. Horrific doesn't cover it. Then on top of it, Brain's "brothers" totally humiliated her. I hated them for it and I rooted for her as she ran circles around them. I loved how she made them look kind of like fools. They deserved it. What really threw me was Duke. I couldn't believe how he behaved in this book. It just pissed me off and made me feel bad for Brain.

The character complexities in this book really surprised me and made me unhappy at times. This doesn't take away from my enjoyment of the book. The outrage I felt and desire for revenge really pulled me into this book. Ice is a better woman than I am. Brain is man who knows his priorities. I liked how he supported Ice through everything. What I really liked was how none of the relationship screw ups were easy to resolve nor were they resolved overnight. This impressed me.

There isn't really as much BDSM in this story. I caveat this statement by saying, not as much from Ms. Blevins' norm. For some, the degradation may be a bit too much. The interrogation scenes may be too much too. I enjoyed them. The intensity makes me feel raw and exposed. This kind of reaction is good for me because it means I feel something. I felt a lot in this book. It's definitely not a feel good warm fuzzy story. It's more action packed, kick ass and survivor mode which I never seem to get enough off.

Ms. Blevins does another stunning job with great world building, character development, painful wince-worthy conflicts and smooth resolutions. This is another winner in this series. Highly recommended to paranormal romance lovers who want to feel intensely.

Kitty's review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

Well, didn’t this book surprise me and thrill me. Never saw it coming, that’s for sure. What am I talking about … since there are no spoilers, you’ll just have to pick up the book to find out what I am talking about. But, really … Brain blew me away and the book was good too!

Talk about a man on a mission … that’s the only way to explain Brain throughout this book. He was sweet, he was compassionate, he was understanding. When he found Ice, realized exactly who she was to him, he was unstoppable and would do anything to convince her of his true feelings. He knows how strong a person she is and has no doubt that she’ll be able to handle his secret life and take the Oath.

After everything that she has been through, Ice has no intentions of giving in to Brain. But, there is something about his understanding and his patience with her that really draws her in and makes her feel safer than she’s ever been. Also, they are a match made in heaven in some ways …. she’s never met anyone who’s sexy and has an IQ as high as hers. But, there is something a little bit different about him. Are the rumors about RTMC true?

There is really a lot of action in this book besides a lot of lovin and you really need to pay attention and follow the story to catch all the nuances between Ice and Brain. As usual through, Candace wove a wonderful tale and really humanized Brain even though his wolf always wanted to make an appearance. And, Ice was just unbelievable. I would have been in a locked room not wanting anyone near me but, she fought and fought until she got over everything and then slowly opened herself up to Brain and his wolf. She was one amazing, strong woman. And, I didn’t expect anything less from Candace .. her woman are always stand on their own, take charge of their life women. Then again, I was surprised right from the beginning with the little twists and turns that she threw in throughout the story but not totally mystified because that’s just what Candace does ….. she starts the story, she catches you and then she doesn’t let you go until the very end.

This was just horrible! Brain was so stupid and also a major asshole for thinking he misses anal sex and blowjobs from club whores. Like the heroine is supposed to be thankful he loves her. What an ass.

Holy cow! That was intense, dark and hard to read. It was an ugly story, but a good one. The darkness of it took me by surprise. There are triggers galore here since the entire story focuses around a woman getting past her PTSD with the help of a good man. What happened to Ice is recited in detail, not described as it happens. Almost in report format which softens the blow a little, but not by much.

Ice’s story is heartbreaking, brutal, and shows how strong she could still manage to function. To me she was everything I want in a good biker book heroine. Brain was just perfect. There was obviously an insta-love thing going on, but it’s a paranormal so I’m good with that. I loved how patient he was with her, understanding about what she needed. Brain’s willingness to give up anything and everything to be with Ice and to help her heal endeared him straight onto my favorite biker book boyfriend list.

It was hard spending the first half of the book just absolutely furious with Duke, Gonzo, and Bash. Especially Bash since what he did was so cruel, no matter how angry he was with Ice about what happened. I’m not sure that writing a story line, possibly making some important characters almost irredeemable in the reader’s eyes was a good call on CB’s part.

I loved this installment of the series and can’t wait to see what’s in store for The Rolling Thunder MC next.

This book could easily have been called "Brains" because in true and appreciated Candace Blevins form, the main chick in the story is every bit as smart and courageous as the main dude. Main dude, as evidenced in a captivating cover, is Brain; his role in the Chattanooga MC is in information acquisitions for Duke. Main chick is Ice. Or Faith, or Destiny or whatever she needs it to be to stay at least one step ahead of a very dark and dangerous past that is forever threatening to overtake her.

The two begin at odds over stolen information and without spilling any beans, a tenuous peace is established between them as they reinvent themselves, including names, and break all ties with the lives they have been leading. Ties that, for Brain at least, include the Brothers with whom he has lived and ridden for years, all for the love of a woman destined to live a shortened life looking over her shoulder.

The course of events was worthy of Bond-meets-Bourne-meets-Mal and River versus "the bad guys". Add in supernatural friends-with-skills and you have just the most delicious continuation of this practically perfect in every way, paranormal series. Oh, and lest I forget the...erm...adjustable nookie, may I just say?: Werewolves.

This installation in the series also gives the reader more glimpses into the rich secondary characters, and lends perfectly to their upcoming stories. It is a diverse and deep, sometimes dark but always very vivid world that Ms. Blevins has pulled out of her magic hat, and I would be one happy reader if it became The Neverending Story...

Are you ready for raw, graphic intensity that will push your limits of comfort? Brain by Candace Blevins is a Motorcycle Club Story with several twists. Not only are the gang members big, bad and the clichéd sexually brutal animals, at least one of them is a shifter. Brain has earned his name, he is brilliant, tough and knows his way around electronics and hacking. But someone is hacking the hacker and he has been tasked with finding who has the brain cells to be his equal. When caught, this hacker will be debriefed and punished according to club rules. When Brain discovers the hacker is a woman, his world is turned upside down. Duty to the club, his own ego and the tough outer shell of this woman, as well as her ability to disappear is causing him headaches and heart palpitations. Her capture should be the end of it, but even the total sexual degradation and gang rape of this feisty woman will not break her. He is not the only one after her and her life will be forfeit fi he doesn’t try to keep her safe. Why should Ice trust him? Why would she feel something for one of her tormentors? Is Brain willing to risk his own life to keep Ice safe?

Definitely not for the faint of heart or those who cannot stomach the total degradation and torture of another. The graphic details are gut churning. What promises to be a fabulous tale is tarnished by the nature and detail of Ice’s captivity. Ms. Blevins can spin an electric tale that will keep readers totally involved, but dangerously flirts with horrendous elements that, while eliciting strong emotions, are very difficult to read. Candace Blevins does use the reality card well, by playing Ice and Brain off each other in a very intense and completely tentative way.

If you can harden your heart and your stomach, the rest of this tale is brilliantly done!

This was a really good book. Someone has hacked past Brain’s firewalls and sold the MC’s information to one of their enemies. Brain and Bash are on a mission to catch the hacker, find out who hired him, and then make him pay. What Brain didn't expect was that Ice was a woman and she was has smart as he is. Ice or Harmony has been on the run for awhile she got herself in trouble with the Russian mafia and the kidnapped an tortured her until she escaped and she has been running from them and the NSA. Although Brain kidnapped Ice he has done everything he could to make her comfortable Bash locked her in a dog cage the problem was the information that she gave the clubs enemies to got Dawg a club member hurt. Harmony as she changed her name to is a hacker and she knows a lot about the club although she found out that one cop thinks that they are wolf shifter's she doesn't believe it. Brain leaves the club after Harmony escapes from Gonzo after Duke takes her and locks her in a cage. This was a really good book Brain goes after her and finds her but she doesn't trust him although he knows a lot about her he wants her and his wolf is in agreement with it. Because of the PTSD that she is suffering from she has to be in control of sex and Brain is not sure if he can do it. I really liked that he knew a counselor that he could call and asked questions and to learn what to expect. The sex scenes were pretty good. This was a well written book with no errors in spelling or grammar like the first book in this series this book was full of emotions. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series. When I first read a BDSM romance by Candace Blevins (I think it was Safeword: Rainbow) she shot up to close to the top of my 'must buy' list, along with Joey W Hill and Tiffany Reisz. With this book, she can also take a place in my list of thriller writers like Daniel Silva and Frederick Forsyth.

This book hooked me from the very beginning. I wanted to know who the narrator was, and what they were doing. Then there was the interaction with this character, Ice, and the hero of the tale, Brain. It can be very hard to find people to really talk to when you are a genius, and I like Brain so much from his previous appearances in both the Chattanooga Supernaturals series and the first of the Rolling Thunder MC books that I was truly happy for him.

Of course, it's not going to be plain sailing. The guy is a member of a motorcycle club and a werewolf after all. The part of the book where - well I won't give the plot away - but let's say the two main characters have to take a big risk to get something back. And this part was pure thriller. Taut writing, no surety of a good outcome, some really really bad guys - it had the lot.

As usual there is some hot sex, and there is also some violence that is pretty hard to read.

Note that reading Duke is a prerequisite for this one, but take it from me, that's not a hardship.

Do yourself a favour - if you like romance, if you like biker books, if you like shifters, if you like thrillers, try this book. It has something for everyone.

First and foremost: WARNING! This title contains scenes of gang rape, detailed torture, confinement and violent kidnapping. There is no warning included which I was shocked by once I got to the violence. If you have suffered violence, this may be a trigger for you.

As far as the story, Brain didn't feel the same as he did in Duke's book. There were things he said and did that just didn't feel true to character. There was a feeling of this story being a rushed project. Some secondary and tertiary characters that seemed to be so important in the last book seemed to be missing completely. That said, I do love this world and the characters. Somehow, this one just didn't cut it for me, which is disappointing because I really like Brain.

Everybody needs a Brain in their life *SWOON* because that man, his wolf, they are solely focused on their woman. They do what they need to, have to, and want to, to make her life good, better, and then, best. Nothing will stand in their way, not life, friends, rules, or family

And our heroine, such a perfect blend of what someone who has lived life, and had the horrors of it happen, and wants to move on should be. She isn't weak, or spunky, she is smart and determined. This makes her perfect for Brain, and him for her

This was supposed to be a read a bit, but ended up as an all nighter, because I just couldn't consider putting this book down until I saw has this story ended, and it never, at any point, disappointed me - fabulous!

She may be the enemy but Brain’s wolf wants to claim Ice and protect her from everyone including the MC in this riveting paranormal romance.

Brain’s finally found a woman worth talking to, one his wolf really takes notice of and it couldn’t be a worse situation as she is the club’s enemy and the reader can’t help but get caught up in the gut wrenching emotions that flow from the pages when the situation spirals into chaos. The chemistry between Brain and Ice smolders with lots of heat but due to emotional issues and club conflicts this is one relationship that will take some extreme measures to achieve. Be prepared for a gauntlet of extreme emotions to catch you unaware as you read this story; humor passion, horror, anger and tears with violent and disturbing scenes and some horrendous descriptions of torture. These strong compelling characters captures the reader’s attention from the very beginning while the steady to fast paced and smooth flowing plot keeps readers on the edge with lots of suspense, excitement, turmoil and romance.

Expectation builds as tensions between Brain, Ice and members of club escalates causing quite a bit of friction while the intrigue builds excitement and unexpected twists keeps everyone on their toes. Vivid imagery bring the story to life making it easy for the reader to become completely immersed in the characters and their story and Brain may be a geek but he is one sexy tough guy that you don’t want to miss and while Ice may have some issues, she earns everyone’s respect while stealing Brain’s heart.

I was completely engrossed in this story from the very beginning and there was no way that I could stop reading it once I got started and I have to say it is as far from what I imagined Brain’s story being as it could get which I have to admit I spent quite a bit of time doing, needless to say I can’t wait to find out what the Rolling Thunder MC has in store for us next.

Let me just say wow this book took me totally by surprise! This is the first in this series I've read and I'll definetly be going back and reading book 1 as well as other books that have some of the minor characters that I've found!

Brain is as smart as they come and he's been outsmarted for the better part of a week by a person that is truely his match. Everyone thinks Ice is a man, but when Brain finally catches up he realizes he is a she! And his wolf wants her, but there is the problem of her being the enemy....

Ice, Destiny, Crystal, Lauren they're all just aliases she has had to use over the years. But when someone finally catches up to her will he be her salvation or the ones to finally fully destroy her?

Brain is loyal to the core, but destroy his trust and he will go his own way. He is also sweet and caring and I loved seeing him take care of his Butercup the way she needed.

Ice is hardcore, but she also has parts of her that are a bit broken, but she has learned to cope the best way possible and has done what she can to survive after the horrors of her past. She is sass an smart ass in hardcore package, and is a character I truely loved.

This story has some pretty intense themes, dealing with rape and kidnapping as well as other horrors the main character survived, so readers do need to beware that this is a trigger book.

You get taken into an amazing world and sucked right into it as though you are there with the characters as they go through the story. My only point of contention was that there were a few of the aspects of this world that were not explained very well probably would had made more sense that I read book one first.

How remarkable and amazing it is when Candace puts pen to paper, she delivered once again with RTMC 2. I think I had rated it 5 stars before I was finished with it. The story stressed me out in some places to the point, I closed my kindle then 5 mins later I picked up again needing to know more about Ice and Brain.

This had to have touched every emotion, was it dark in some places yes. Was it intense, yes. The whole process of learning Ice and Brain from beginning to end. Of course revisits from characters we met in books prior, is always a plus. I found myself wanting to strangle a good percentage of the characters this time. I was steadily saying WTF.. Oh no you didn’t. The re-reading a paragraph or two. (smiles)

(oh girly yes you Candace, we need Abbot to have his book, smiles) I gained more insight even on Duke and I loved him from his own book. Fear is a damn good motivator and trust is earned. Ice wow, amazing in part I did want to shaker her just cuz of her indecisiveness while I understood it still wore on my nerves. I wanted to smack Duke, Gonzo and Bash but then I also understood what they didn’t know, and their position. Duke well he had a woman and should have thought, how he would have felt. Who gets off lightly? Brain though he needed a good shake a time or two, but his patience will endear him to you.

The danger, the passion the whole let me get to know you, the making love and giving in. The taking the chance. Just amazing I don’t have a problem giving Brain a 5 star rating that’s well deserved. Recommended of course but read Duke first. Enjoy

I love this new series! Candace Blevins takes you on an emotional roller coaster with Brain. You think you know what's going to happen, but you don't. I love it when an author can surprise me, and then keep surprising me.

Heed the warnings on this one, things get dark and rough but Brain will get you out the other side happy and satisfied.

Highly recommended for those who like paranormal romance or MC books.

Review copy supplied by author but didn't affect my rating. It did affect my coffee consumption the next day after I stayed up to four in the morning to finish.

Gritty, hard core, action pact.

This is a great addition to the series where Brain the RTMC resident werewolf hacker meets his match, similar off the chart skills & intelligence but she begins as pack enemy.

There are difficult scenes detailing torture in the process of dealing with PTSD. It was hard. However, it was sensitively handled, the trust developed beautiful.

Can't wait for Bash's book.

I leg this series, not over the top shifter, unreal kinda read. But a more laid back this is just how it is kinda thing. The graphic violence details are harsh, but truly lends to character development and the growing relationship. I loved it, an easy 5 star read for me.

Not at all sure why I love this author and this series so much but I every time I think I can walk away from not buying the next book....I race off to buy the next book in the series.

I thought Brain and Harmony really worked as a couple and somehow the author makes each relationship different. These books don't follow a formula which I appreciate. I loved that Brain was just not having any apologies from the people he thought of as family once they hurt Harmony. I'm glad they found away back together but his sense of loyalty and betrayal did not seem trivial and he was seriously not going to forgive these people, which I found stunningly romantic.

I like the mix of strong women, brutal men and situations that just have to be dealt with that makes everyone stronger in different ways just makes this a great series.

well ... we can sum this one as "all you can read in one book and then some!"

Candace, we (bookworm mortals) are bowing down to your wicked, dark, kinky and sensitive author skills. This book will take you to places you didn't know existed and you will re-read them to make sure you read that one right and I promise you, you WILL stare blank for a min to take it all in and then dive right back in and repeat it after a chapter or even less. IT'S THAT GOOD and NO this is not paid advertising (loosing sleep, tears and batteries over Candace books).

this is not your typical MC romance, and this is not your expected shapeshifter/werewolf book, and this is NOT just another romance novel. You will be twisted and turned and twisted again but it will all come to place with coming to its conclusion.

It's the story of Brain and Ice/Buttercup/Harmony and its about their both mad hacker skills (SERIOUS TURN ON !!!!!!!), and its also about Brain's wolf catching and claiming her after all they go through, and its about trust - loosing it and earning it back, and its also about coming out of personal dark and doing your best to live your life with it.

~
Trust can be such an incredible aphrodisiac, and every cell in my body felt alive as I kissed and teased her into submission. This strong woman who’d been hurt so bad, was giving me control, and no way was I going to do anything to break the trust she was giving me.
~

Brain is and at the same time isn't your typical hacker/smart guy - he is the guy that looses the girl twice and that is fighting for her and for them, and is testing the limits how far he's willing to go after what he and his wolf want. Candace will leave you in deep poo with him cause no guy will be ever as good, gentle, rough and patient as him (and you want HIM).

~
The asshole drives a Harley. He's tall and thin, all sculptured wiry muscles with a cocky assed attitude. If he wasn't my arch enemy, apparently out to kill or capture me at all costs, I might actually be interested. Genius hackers don’t usually come with muscles, speed, strength, leather clothes, and motorcycles.
~
I wanted this man. His brutal honesty, and the way he looked out of his eyes, the way he stood, the conflict in his pose. He wasn’t going to spank me, and I was certain he had feelings for me, and was working around them to stay loyal to his MC. I could use that, later.
~

Ice is a super smart hacker that is giving Brain a run for his money and makes him stretch his fingers (LOL!!) and presents the ultimate challenge for him on more than one level. She is just what he need and he is that for her but with the dark past that is not past at all she is un-trusting and hurting day in - day out. She takes an emotional journey in this book that makes you want to cry and hide. and she comes out of it as a stronger person that can handle Brain and all of his world. She is fighting against the broken part of herself so she can be all that she wants without living in fear from anyone.

~
She was a sexy as hell woman who was so far beyond a genius, she could give me a run for my money.
~
She didn’t want me to see her as a weak girl, but a strong, smart, hacker who was my equal. I worried it might say more, though.
~
Part of me wanted to apologize for being broken, but the stubborn bitch inside me refused. He was going to have to accept me as is, if this was going to work. Still, I was sorry he couldn’t play with my hair. Sorry for both of us.
~

There are so may layers to this book and the story and the characters that - the book will leave you glued to your seat till the very end, and right at the end you will go back to your favorite bookmarked parts (cca 70% of the book) so you have an instant re-read. ITS THAT GOOD !! and we get to hang out with our favorite super/kick-ass/ass-kicking gang that we all love and adore and it makes it all that better.

Don't worry about Candace loosing her touch - remember the dark place for Ice ... let's just say, the muse just ran loose on that part so, hold on tight to your seats on that one. Personally I can not wait what she has planned next for us ... until then, I smell another RE-READ and I'm not sorry AT ALL !!

Ice hacked into the Rolling Thunder Motor Cycle club's mainframe and sold their secrets to a rival club. Ice eluded Brain for 9days before he caught up with her and kidnnapped her. Brain's wolf wants to keep Ice, but they need to know where the information went, first.

Okay. SO! I was asked to read this, I read the blurb and thought, yeah, I can see what this will be about, I can see what sort of read this will be, so I said yes.

AND I WAS TOTALLY, AND UTTERLY WRONG. I was so far off the mark, I can tell ya!

Yes, Brain is a werewolf, but apart from whne he reveals what he is to Ice, and when fighting for her life, the wolf bit is not a big thing. The wolf reacts on a primal level when he finds out what happened to Ice at the hands of the Russian Mob, he wants the blood of those who hurt her and rightly so. But the wolf part of Brain takes a back seat for much of the book.

Yes, Brain is part of a MC. THAT too, takes a back seat for much of the book, since Brain walks away from them.

What made this such a surprise is there is a bloody amazing story! I don't know why I'm so surprised by that fact, but I am. AND its told in the first person, from both Ice and Brain's POV, so it flips. I noticed that fact, but it did not bother here, at all. It was great to hear from them both, but also great that its in the first person! go, figure me, cos I can't.

The way Brain the man helps Ice the woman overcome her triggers, her absolute need for control during sex, her horror of positions, actions, deeds. The patience the pair of them have, working through it all, with no professional help, other than what Ice read up on. It floored me, when Ice revealed the full extent of her trauma. Made me cry. It made me cry in places I didn't really expect it to!

And for Ice to forgive Bash and Gonzo for what they did to her, granted, they were under orders, but that took great strength of character and courage too. I loved Ice, I really did. I wanted to wrap her up in cotton wool, and look after her. I'd probably get tazered if I tried though!

There are some difficult topics here, kindap, rape, mutilation and murder. Some readers may struggle with them. I know I did. BUT I have no triggers. Some might. Just so you know, though, these topics are dealt with brilliantly. They are difficult to read about, yes, but they are needed here.

And, I've used Ice's name through this review, it changes at places in the book, along with other things that change, but decided not to tell you those names or changes, cos I might spoil it. :-)

I've not read Duke, which is book one in this series, nor have I read anything by this author before. From what I can gather, there is some overlap of the series and my interest is piqued by more than one couple who appear in this book, as well as Duke and his story. I'll be reading them in due course!

5 full stars

description

I was immediately drawn into this story and it helped that I am a fan of paranormal and MC books.

Ice is being hunted by an MC who she sold out. She's a hacker, just looking for the next paycheck but this time someone possibly as smart as her is on her tail. She is careful and covers her tracks because as a hacker she has more than a few enemies, but this MC isn't giving up and it's not long before they have her.

Brain, is the Rolling Thunder's VP and just as smart as his prey. But once he has her in his possession, things don't turn out quite as planned. There is something about her that speaks to him and his wolf. He becomes quickly protective of her and that doesn't go over very well.

Some of this book is the cat and mouse game and Brain is a full on stalker with some pretty scary tech skills. But he is choosing this pursuit over his brothers and needs to know if this girl is the one for him. Ice doesn't know how to handle Brain's alpha personality because of her horrid past. She is damaged goods and has never given much thought to long term. Her sense of self was taken away and those terrible days are laid in pretty vivid detail.

The development of their relationship while quick for one, was a slow progression for the other and it seemed to work. There was a lot of scheming and planning but when two hackers get together you can never be too cautious. There were some parts that fell a little flat for me and I just had expected more. The paranormal portion of the story while always there and always talked about, the actual development of the that side of the story was rushed and didn't completely work for me. The romance was pretty heated and it was well developed, although there were times that one would be very quick to just accept what the other was saying or needed. Overall it was a decent read. A lot of things happen and a significant amount of time passes during the pages. It kept me interested because I wanted to see how it all played out.

A hot, alpha man who also happens to be a werewolf and super smart – what’s not to love? Of course I immediately signed up to review the book. This is my first book from Blevins, but that wasn’t an issue at all in understanding the novel – although I do think you may enjoy the story more if you are aware of the background. At the start of the novel, there is a bit of information dump to get the reader caught up in what’s going on but after that the story jumps off.

I really enjoyed this novel. It had pretty much everything you can imagine a story can have: action, adventure, love, betrayal, and of course, lots of hot sex. The book wasn’t a quick, easy read, though. There were some very gruesome scenes. I also felt the book was really detailed at times (e.g. actions plans) and then sometimes descriptions were skipped over.

Ice and Brain were great characters. Ice’s background made for a suspenseful read. I enjoyed the build-up of a relationship instead of the instant love that one often reads in a paranormal romance. I did feel, however, that there was entirely too much talk about how smart they were. The smartest people don’t need to constantly talk about how smart they are.

There were a few issues with the editing that were a bit bothersome. Some of the chapters are mistakenly labelled with the wrong person giving their point of view. There are also a few times that the story switches to 3rd person and then switches back a few paragraphs later. It can be a bit confusing.

I will definitely be reading more from Blevins (okay, I already downloaded another one of her books).

Let me start by saying that this book comes with a warning. If you have any triggers at all - PLEASE take note of that! This story covers subjects at kidnap, rape, torture, humiliation and degradation. If you don't like reading about any of those, then I suggest you try a different book! That being said, I thought that all of the above subjects were dealt with incredibly well. There was no 'overkill', if it was there, it was there for a reason and dealt with.

Ice's story is horrific and I am full of admiration for this character to have both survived and coped with what she went through. Brain has his own issues but, to be fair, they are nothing like what Ice has had to deal with. She is his equal in so many ways and I loved how patient and caring he was with her.

The paranormal aspect of this book almost takes a backseat to everything else. It is rarely mentioned apart from if his wolf is having a reaction to something. To be honest, I both loved and hated this. I love paranormal books with shifters so I was a bit disappointed. Although, I do feel that if it had been any more, it might have detracted from the overall story. Yes, I'm conflicted! LOL

Overall, this was an intense, enjoyable, horrific story that was high on emotion and low on paranormal. Definitely recommended.

* I received this book from Bit 'n' Books in return for a fair and honest review. *

I couldn’t wait to read Brain’s story, his character always stood out for me whenever he made an appearance in previous stories.

Brain meets someone who may be smarter at hacking than he is, Ice is one of her aliases. Wow, the interaction between them was totally amazing. Brain is a wolf shifter and his wolf wants Ice, but she is the enemy as she has given away information about his MC, what’s a wolf to do?

Trust issues come into play and Brain leaves the club, he searches for Ice again and he must earn her trust. As they both learn about each other, we learn things about her past, some pretty intense and horrific things she went through that really make her what she is today. And Brain’s patience with her was just so heartfelt, she really needed a tender touch at times. But this is Candace Blevins’ story, so there are still some pretty hot sexy scenes.

The story was full of adventure, almost wanting to punch in the face a beloved character from the first book in the series, lots of thrills and chills (you’ll know what I’m talking about when you read it!), and some very strong emotions as we get more immersed into Candace’s MC world. I, for one, cannot wait until the next book comes out and we get more of their world, Duke and Brain will be hard to top, but I have faith in this author!

* I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review

I loved Duke and Gen's story but this was so so much more. There were highs and there were lows ... Ice/Harmony/Buttercup is a wild girl for sure but she has a beautiful soul that is just perfect for Brain ... he is a true wonder, her perfect match ... as brilliant as she is but so compassionate and caring while staying true to himself.
I hated Duke when he broke trust with Brain and at one point, probably more than one point actually, I began to question if I would be able to continue the series but the author brought it all to an amazing ending and brought all the characters back to a great place. Even though Duke, Bash & Gonzo made their restitution on the yacht, the scenes at the clubhouse brought it all to a great place .. the friendly hug from Gonzo, Bash stopping the punishment in progress at scent of her distress to allow Brain to remove her from the situation and lastly & most importantly Duke's laptop conversation which truly acknowledged his understanding of her pain and I think showed his acceptance of what his own actions must have caused her. This is proving to be an amazing series. (19/7/2015)

24/8/17 - one of my favourites of the series without a doubt. compelling read with great characters. along with the serious there is a sweet romance

Brain is a smart, techie, werewolf biker. What's not to love? He meets his match in Ice/Harmony who is also a smart techie. Unfortunately for the relationship, Harmony has a lot of baggage that causes her to have PTSD.

Ms Blevin's werewolves are quite talented when it comes to sex. I don't read enough in the genre to know if these talents are common or not in other books. Suffice to say their women are satisfied!

This is the second book in the RTMC series and you should read Duke first. There are characters from the Chattanooga Supernaturals series who also make appearances.

This was better than book 1.
Hooks you from the first page to the last.
For many reasons but mostly because it was less ott and more plausible. The characters were likeable and you just want them to make it.

Great story, indepth complicated characters and really great writing.

Defo read warning triggers as ice's torture n rapes by the Russians are pretty detailed and gruesome.

Realised I should have read some of the other series before this, starting with the dragon King or the bdsm series non of which are on ku. Disappointed as I dont pay for books anymore only my ku subscription n audible otherwise it gets out of control n too expensive especially when reading long series.

So I'll continue with this series n leave it until the author decides to put them on ku. What a waste of series. Most people cant afford to spend €70 plus on one series much less two. At least with ku we all win. So freaking annoying.

The other really annoying thing is betray, fens best friend hasmd a football player in book 1, this book she has her own harem. Wouldnt it be useful to tell your readers the correct cross series reading order to avoid missing books? Though again its not on ku so I won't be reading it but still make it easy for your readers not bloody difficult

What I really liked about this one was that Brain was attracted to Ice/Harmony way before he saw her, he liked her smarts and how she challenged him. Even after they met and Brain saw Ice/Harmony he was still interested in her mind. I loved that he warned his MC brothers to not under estimate her. This is where things started going crazy. The guys sort of listened to Brain and in doing that they treated Ice/Harmony horrible, to the point where it broke the relationship they had with Brain.

I was glad that Brain didn’t give up Ice/Harmony, but went after her and let her know by doing so in a safe way. I liked that he got out of Ice/Harmony what happened in her past that was so horrible and helped her move past things. Even helped her start a new life, one that was safe. I was pissed when Brain’s MC brothers showed back up, hated that Ice/Harmony was forced to work with them, but even that turned out ok. By the end of the book things were going great for both Brain and Ice/Harmony.
