Such a marvellous book. The lessons that a reader could learn through this series are incredible. I could witness the supreme divinity of Sri Rama in every page of the amazing book. Each and every human being should read the wonderful saga and apply the lessons practically.
We have all grown up hearing Ramayana, the greatest epic of Hindus and Vedic traditions. But Shubha Vilas' Ramayana-The Game of Life is a modern retelling of the Yuddha Kanda of Valmiki's Ramayana highlighting that one need not be grand in size to win big battles, ones self-belief is the actual key to win big. The reader experiences the anger of Ravana, the calmness of Rama, the boldness of the Vanara army, the heroism of Hanuman, the pain of Sita, the madness of Kumbhakarana and the righteousness of Vibhishan. Page by page you realize that never has been Ramayana so applicable to life.
The best part about the book is that though the author has taken certain creative liberties to keep the narrative gripping, he has made sure that it does not in any way supersede the original narrative. Narrative moves at such a smooth pace that at times you wish to slow down just to have some more time to finish the book. The language is simple, and the life lessons the book imparts are unflinching.
The author has rightly said, 'In a world full of selfishness, Ramayana is the beacon of hope and love'. All in all this is a philosophical masterpiece!
Ramayan, an epic that is a bedtime story for kids, a point of reference for students and a way of living and worship for adults. The epic has seen several re-tellings over the years. Be it the narrative of Sita, Urmila, Lakshman, or Bharata, the re-tellings never failed to entice the readers. Despite having numerous re-tellings that already took the position in hit charts, the new version by Shubha Vilas, Think Big to Win, the 6th installment in the Game of Life series has a new perspective to the whole tale. I have seen many people attend management lessons from Bhagwad Gita, take indepth insights from Mahabharat or Ramayan. This book totally put me into a different mental framework.
Collating differing views and yet holding them together was not only exciting but very much insightful. I have never come across a detailed analysis of living and thinking big in this way. This book is an eye-opener.
As with the previous books, the author has narrated the grand finale with an elegant dexterity. The characters, their choices and motive forces are explained which some of the strange incidents conceivable. The book is not only a good read but also a manual for good living, conduct and wholesome associations
I chanced upon this book through Prime Reading and began reading tentatively. Soon I was engrossed with the captivating story told with magical narration.
And there are modern interpretations of the age old stories. It is a must read even if you don't go for mythology. Five stars for this book.
I love this book and feel so connected in my devotion to Shri Ram, Ma Sita and Hanumanji. It has always been there but this book just deepened it 1000 times from not just in words but also in my heart.
