Another great issue with beautiful artwork. I love the various plot lines going on here: Leto on Ix, Duncan running from the Harkonnens, Baron Harkonnen and Revered Mother Helen Gaius Mohiam, Shaddam and his aid...all these different arcs are so entertaining and well-done. Each issue is so well-balanced too and moved back and forth at just the right times. I’m thoroughly enjoying these stories and seeing how the world comes to life visually.
I do think it would be a little harder to follow if you’ve never read a single Dune book, but I think the story is pretty clear, and anything you don’t understand will become clear as you read more and more (like Dune’s ecology and Fremen and spice and stillsuits), though the full weight of everything will definitely be lost (like who Shaddam and Leto and Idaho grow up to be and the importance of the Baron and the Reverend Mother’s scenes).
Overall, I love this series. It’s excellently written and beautifully drawn with the most gorgeous covers.

by far, this one is my favourite, and it is making me so impatient to read about the war humanity waged against thinking machines

This series is a fantastic addition to the entire Dune universe. I love these stories and characters. Brings me back to the late 70's and the 80's. To when I read the first couple of Dune novels. Take me back.....

I am several months behind, but no big deal (just bought issue #8). I will slowly catch up. Well worth my $$.

I'm enjoying this, but I have a lot of feelings about unnecessarily complicated page layouts
