In absentia lucis, tenebrae vincunt.
Betrayal and deceit spread like spilled blood. Slow and steady, saturating everything in its path.
Until it spreads no more.
I can feel my darkness overshadowing my light. The caress of it consuming me. Breaking me.
They say you can only handle a certain amount of pain in one life. That it eventually wraps its sharp claws around you and brings you to your knees.
The bond with Colton, Tyler, Hawke and Steele is the only thing that keeps me from spiraling into the vortex of pain that has managed to carve itself into my soul.
I don’t just dance around the edges of the Brotherhood anymore. I’m groomed to play their games.
Their sinister and dark world opens my eyes to the true evil that has been in front of me this whole time.

Genre: Reverse harem, Romance, Dark?
Pace: Slow
Format: Kindle Unlimited
Pages: 175
Rating: 2*

Firstly, I know I have a problem with starting a series and not being able to quit it (even when I don't particularly like the books). It's a personal thing and something I am working on. I know I need help.

Okay, I have been confused with the first 2 books but this one took that confusion to a whole new level. The ending of the second book was completely forgotten it seems as in that one, Peyton is out of hospital and getting a tattoo with Steele and he is apologising for not being there quicker to save her. However, at the beginning of this book, Peyton is back in hospital and being told that Capri is missing. What happened? Also, she gets with Colton again later and he makes no reference to her new body art so does she have this connecting tattoo to Steele or not?

It also annoyed me that Steele is again being awful to Peyton (which could be how he grieves for the death of his baby; by being horrible to the woman who lost the child in a horrific way(!). I'm just so over it. A little bit of brooding is fine in a story but he just seems to be having a constant toddler tantrum. He lays a claim to her when we are introduced to the twins so he likes her enough to fight others for her but he can't just be nice to her to her face? The whiplash of his feelings are just plain annoying by now.

Speaking of the twins, Peyton of course meets them and instantly starts dancing/grinding on them when again, Colton appears out of nowhere to stop them getting with 'his' girl. How are they now all back again at the exact party that Peyton didn't even know she was attending until a couple of hours before? This again happens when the twins invite Peyton to a car meet where they have barely been for an hour before the guys turn up to take her away to her first task. And when did this task suddenly turn up from? Where was the training and the prep before she just randomly had to shoot someone and that someone just happens to be someone she didn't like anyway.

A further annoyance is when Peyton asks her mum about Capri, she at first tells her she is at home to then admit in the car on the way home that she is missing. So, Capri's dad (Peyton's stepfather), hasn't told his wife that his daughter is actually fine to save her from worrying and hiring private investigators to search for her. But when the family gets back together, nothing is said about the fact that Peyton's mum was just left to worry about her stepdaughter. So, does her mum not fully know the man she has married or she doesn't care as long as everyone she loves is safe?

Lastly, when Peyton receives a blue ribbon in her locker, all the guys suddenly tell her to never be on her own, that they would be someone constantly with her. Colton even tells her not to walk home on her own for a while but come lunchtime the same day, she does just this. Steele annoys her and she just leaves, declining company from everyone who offers. At the end, Peyton gets with Colton who leaves immediately after 'finishing' and Peyton is kidnapped again before being brought in front of her father. At this point though, it doesn't feel like a cliffhanger anymore as I'm sure the guys will somehow once more swoop in to save the day.

As always, I think the storyline could've been great, it's just a real shame that all the books so far have been messy. I'd like to say that by the time the next book is out, that I will have broken myself of having to finish a series but I guess only time will tell. Read this series if you want a quick read but I won't be reading it again.

I knew that this book was going to end on a cliffhanger and yet, I still read it and even though I keep doing this to myself, I’m not even mad about it. I trust that Melinda will finish this story with a bam!

Okay. First off, Steele seriously needs to get his head out of his ass. I don’t know how much longer Peyton will keep taking his sh*t, but I’m sure it won’t be for much longer. I am glad that Peyton at least has her friends and her men. Colton, Hawke, and Tyler are super supportive while being their usual alpha-hole selves.

Gacckkkk!!! It is so hard to write this without spoilers! Let me just say that as soon as I finished Tainted Promises, I purchased it and have started to read it again. I have laughed, cringed, and literally cried while reading this series. Even if this genre isn't your cup of tea I encourage you to dip you toes in the water and experience Peyton’s journey with The Savage Kings of St. Ivy.

Wow. I feel for Peyton. If it's not one thing it's another. This book is the aftermath of book two. While the boys are in Switzerland she is trying tobpick up the broken pieces. The end omg what how? I can't wait for book four.

I've been waiting to read this book for 6 months, I read the 1st 2 books back in January. I was so excited to finally find out what happens after book 2. Instead, I was left somewhat confused and a little disappointed. So, at the end of book 2 Peyton is attacked by her father and ultimately loses the baby and ends with Steele coming to the rescue. Now here is my confusion. In the epilogue of book 2 Savage Lies, Peyton and Steele are having a moment sharing in their loss. So, getting to read Tainted Promises it picks up with Peyton in the hospital right after the attack. Now the end of book 2's epilogue doesn't seem to match up with what I had been reading. Steele was nowhere present. Instead, he was staying far away from Peyton, at times being a complete ass to her. What also didn't make sense was that In Tyler's point of view stated that they caught wind of Peyton being pregnant and were too late. How did they know she was pregnant?? Because the only people who knew that Peyton was pregnant was herself and her 2 besties. Unless 1 of her besties Somehow made it known to the guys but doesn't explain that. Also how did they know that her dad was going to attack her when they were in a completely different country at some secret headquarters secret society. and why make it seem like Capri was missing?? Those were just a few things that didn't add up and make sense to me. Which is what I had an issue with. It also seemed a bit rushed. Otherwise, it was a great read I can't wait to read the 4th book because I'm hoping we get the answers So things can be a little clearer. I do got to say, 1 of my favorite things about reading reverse harems is when you have the 1 girl and you have like the 4-5 dudes and 2 of the dudes are gay for each other but straight for her. Now that ending in Tainted Promising was a trip. Peyton being confronted with her father yet again, while her guys standing to the side of here. What doesn't seem to be clear is are they captured too or are they in on it? Again hopefully we get these answers. Can't wait to read in October.

Usually by Book 3 we’ve gotten some answers, but this book left me confused and I’m not sure in a good way? It might help to know how many books are planned for this series. I wish we had gotten more to work with.

First, what happened between the ending of Book 2 and beginning of Book 3?
Is this a major editing error or intentional? The storyline doesn’t match in any way. I would have greatly preferred the original ending.

What happened to Peyton (P from here) and Dylan? She never talked to him after she texted him. Has he been a brotherhood member this entire time, watching over P? Did he jump ship and join recently? What is this competition they’ve got going on? That worries me, what is it that Colton warns him he won’t win?

How did Steele and them find out P was pregnant? Why was it only Steele that felt the need to save her? The other boys didn’t seem that concerned, and how do they keep finding her?

Characters:

Eli…I’m not sure what the point of his character is yet except for some stilted conversations, I feel like he could be removed and it wouldn’t change anything.

Steele- sigh…the conflicted boy. I’m scared that he’s the only one who really loves her at this point and the others are just involved in some bet or game. He’s always the possessive one.

Tyler- he’s sweet, we didn’t see him much in this book except that he’s not really as on board with everything the brotherhood does as the others. I would have expected him to take on a more nurturing role with P after her attack but that didn’t happen.

Hawk- he’s now my absolute favorite, levelheaded and actually tries to help her. Looks like he’s striking up a comrade with the new twins, speaking of…

The twins! - oh yea I’m loving the twins. Usually I’m not a fan of new characters this far into a series but the guys are ticking me off enough I’m pro twin. They have awesome chemistry with P. I’m secretly hoping maybe they’ll help her sneak away or something. I definitely want to see more of them. In fact they’re my favorite now alongside Hawk.

Colton—- ahhh Colton. My anxiety is high with this one, especially after how he treated her at the ending. They were in private so there was no need for his brutality after all the trauma P already endured, and calling her Murdoch. I’ve always considered their relationship more physical than anything, and he treats her more like an object than the others, and he gave her the vague warning that he would be the only one allowed to break her in Book 2.
For Ps sake I really hope not, but we have to wonder why he got posted at the school as her teacher and if he’s just playing a long game. I just don’t see the affection, no sleepovers in the pool house or long conversations other then some fast sex and he came onto her really strong right away.

So this brings me to wonder A. Is this all a game? B. Is this a super long initiation to break her down emotionally so she can be the 5th ruler? C. Did they just bring her father at the end for her to get vengeance? They can’t kill him bc he’s a brother, but that doesn’t mean that P can’t.

I hope these relationships don’t take a nose dive because that would be tedious at this stage. I need Colton to show some emotion and Steele to step up, Hawk and Ty just keep being awesome.

Please comment with any additional insights you have or if you’ve a different theory or interpretation than mine!

St Ivy 3

Okay I’m not going to lie this book was good enough that I devoured it, but Steele well I wish she would’ve bedded those twins right in front of him. He can go do whatever he wants disappear and say nothing when their baby was killed by her father, then has the audacity to be a putz when he he comes back finds her dancing with one of the twins. Hawke is one yummy guy. All of these parents in the brotherhood can be fed to the sharks. That cliffhanger? Yeah that sucked too lol. If the betrayal is real and all was fake I pray she goes with those twins and blows the brotherhood to smithereens. Just saying! Enough is enough and this fmc has been made to suffer enough.

Peyton, Cole, Steele, Hawke, and Tyler are back in another twisting and turning roller coaster ride. We get to see them learn more about each other and the brotherhood. I was so into the story that I read it in four hours. Great characters and storyline Highly recommended Amazing Book oh yeah and a hell of a cliffhanger. Thanks Melinda

long prologue

A bit disappointed in this book. There was no real answers or story line. Sort of just a long prologue for whatever is going to happen. And the cliffhanger wasn’t very cliffhangy but was left very open to interpret.

Wonderful plot

Loved the story line and can’t wait for the next book. Had some grammar errors that took away from the moment. Didn’t understand that first chapter because it never lined up with the timeline in the story.

What is that ending! Nooooo! Seriously! I legit shook my Kindle to see if more words would appear! AAAAAAAA!!! I need more please!!! What was that?!!! Holy fudge! My heart is in my stomach! Throughout the entire book I was on the edge of my seat! I needed answers and am more confused than when I started. But in the best way. This book, this series, I’m an addict, I can’t get enough!

Ok, ok, ok, breathe, here we go! What a story! That was incredible, fun, heart wrenching and amazing!!! I know we needed this book to get us to this point. You get some answers but are also left so confused and on the edge of your seat. Peyton is one lucky girl. This book was soooo steamy. There were parts my mouth was wide open, I had to read over. I can not get enough of these guys, Tyler, Colton, Hawke and Steele. I’m a Tyler girl all the way but each book makes me want to be a Colton girl as well. Heck this book had me drooling for all of them. Steele has so many demons to work out, it was fun to watch him this story. I wanted to reach into the book and hug him hard. Colton is hot AF! He holds nothing back, his possessive side is incredible! And Tyler and Hawke, holy yessss, thank you so much for these two this book. Tyler broke me this story but Hawke putting him back together is hot-hot-hot! 🔥🥵 Each of these books are steamy hot but I think this was by far the steamiest, thank you for that! 😏🥵

New people popped up in this book that brought a lot of fun to the story. They had me laughing so hard. Capri was so fun in this book too, having her own arc and portrayal in the story. Excited to see how her storyline plays out. And that ending, still gut wrenching. I just went back to re-read it to see if I missed anything. Nope, mystery pure, crazy, fun on the edge of my seat, need more mystery!!!

Melinda Terranova is incredible! She writes with such passion and love for her characters. Her books are sooo fun and steamy. Her stories are like a puzzle, each piece fits into the next but pieces are missing so you need more of the puzzle to work out what the heck is going on. If you haven’t read this series you absolutely must! From the first chapter in book one, I was hooked. I loved the push and pull of Peyton, Colton, Steele, Tyler and Hawke. I love how every book one character shines a little more than the others, but they are all a united front. They stand together, protect one another and even when they hate each other, they love each other hard!

So I will preface I almost gave this 4 stars after the epilogue in book 2 was totally forgotten or like was a time jump that was not stated because it went totally backwards in this one. I get why the author would, Peyton and Steele need to work things out but there was no explanation or anything. Because of the other parts of the book I gave this 5 stars, but I really was confused and even tried to find out stuff online because it made no sense the progression with no heads up.

Now to the good stuff, I loved seeing the group become more cohesive, and Steele finally get his punishment after ignoring the elephant in the room and not handling his feelings after what happened at the end of book 2. I can't imagine what him and Peyton felt, but the author did a good job giving the readers different POVs to help bridge that gap and explain more about Steele's perspective/behavior. That scene was hot though, when he had to watch muahaha. I loved Tyler and Hawke more, getting to know them, while still getting Colton's possessiveness and random sexy moments sprinkled throughout haha.

I felt so bad for Capri and Peyton, after everything that happened but glad it wasn't as bad as Peyton's dad made it seem to be. I feel for her though but based on book 4 it's gonna be alright for her haha. I love their friendship and these events where they have to get ready. I like Peyton's mom too but I am also disappointed in her with everything that's gone on and she can't see the writing on the wall. I also felt for Peyton with this initiation stuff and what she had to do. I like Eli so I was happy with the result. BTW we get some answers about him and I feel like we get no follow-up or explanation. Like it was just a throw away thread and it could have been an amazing tie-in but was forgotten/missed opportunity.

I was shocked at the end of this one, author did a good job with throwing another twist at it. I was hoping for more explanation and will warn you you don't get it. I think the author needed to make a story bible for all these nuances/great plot threads they threw in there and make notes on where things needed to be fleshed out a bit more. I just felt like there was so much missed potential in this series, but more about that in the last book's review.

I still would read this series, I enjoyed the relationships and smutty scenes but the plot is where I think things could have been cleaned up and improved.

Title: Tainted Promises (Savage Kings of St. Ivy: Book 3)
Author: Melinda Terranova

Review: This is the third book in the Savage Kings of St. Ivy series.

I still have no idea what I just read. Just bad choices after bad choices… is Peyton dumb or what, because I don’t know how these guys haven't wiped their hands with her with the way she acts.
Yes she’s had a LOT of bad stuff happen to her, but she really needs to be in a safe living home with constant round the clock care because she has trauma by the bucket load, and she is not coping at all.

Peyton is reckless and can’t determine real life from fiction. The way she has been treated sexually and mentally in her past still seems to be happening in her present. I just can’t see how these people are supposed to be young adults in high school but yet have adult responsibilities. It’s just not fathomable.

Steele is even more complicated than Peyton. He treats her the worst out of all the guys, but thinks he’s in love with her and it’s okay. He is the total definition of psycho!

Not much has happened romantically with Hawke, but we’re getting to see a little more of him. From what I can see, he is all about Tyler and Peyton is just a bonus.

Tyler seems to be the more normal in the group. He still has his daddy issues but doesn’t treat people like crap.

Colton also has daddy issues and a very grey/bland personality. I don’t see what the big fuss about him is. Good looks will only get you so far.

I’d say the best thing about this series is Capri. She is a girls girl, and is there for Peyton always (when she’s not in Switzerland that is).

The story just seems to be getting worse and worse and there is no conclusion to issues that have come up. Just adding more and more new people to make it more confusion. They are all giant walking red flags but yet I can't stop reading. Something is wrong with me....

Mel really brings the darkness in this book as we sink to new depths with the Brotherhood experiencing more of their depraved and sinister nature. We experience emotional turmoil through Peyton and Steel but they are not alone in their agony.

Peyton is one hell of a fighter no matter what knocks he down, no matter what cuts her legs off she gets back up. She is the poster girl for strength and determination she deserves to be valued and loved. She will continue to fight against the darkness of her world, she is the light for so many others.

Colton comes into his own in this book in so many ways, he leads the guys with a strength that inspires them, he holds them together in their tome of need.

Steel is broken, he's drowning in ways he's never experienced before and I'm not sure if he can come back from the hell is lost to. He definitely can't do it on his own, he needs the love of his life but can he get over his guilt enough to let her in.

Hawke and Tyler are the perfect together, their love runs deep but so does their friendship and support for each other. They have each others backs no matter what and they bring that strength yo the group.

This book is dark, depraved, emotional and filled with agony they are a group divided. On so many levels they have the potential to be strong, to change their world and relinquish the hold the darkness has on them but its claws are sunk deep into them.

The ending of this book has left me in a tail spin, I have a few ideas about what is happening but that remains to be seen.

Mel loves to torture us with these cliffhangers 😂😂

Tainted Promises is book #3 in the Savage Kings of St Ivy series. It's a dark reverse harem. Make sure to check the trigger warning!

My boo Steele needs to get his crap together, but i still love him so much!!

Tainted Promises picks up where Savage Lies left off and lets just say, it's a wild ride!!

Peyton has been through so freaking much and I cant wait for this girl to get her HEA!! She is so strong and such a badass, but feels broken.

Tyler + Hawke= sexiest man sandwich ever!!! I love their relationship and how they always have each others backs and how Peyton fits perfectly with them.

Colton is EVERYTHING you want in a hot stepbrother. He might seem like a jerk, but really cares for Peyton.

Steele, my beautiful love. He is hurting from the loss him and Peyton had, and i can't wait to see him get his revenge on the people who hurt her.

Tainted Promises takes us deeper into the Brotherhood, two new faces are added that cause some drama and things get crazier!!

I love being a part of Mels team, and going on this wild ride with her is the best! She is the sweetest and I'm so excited to see where this series goes! Now I just need to add these to my bookshelf 😂

3.75⭐️ 4🌶️

Clearly something happened to change the author’s mind about the direction of this story between books 2 and 3 because the epilogue at the end of Savage Lies was completely disregarded. And honestly, I’m kind of disappointed. By the third book in a RH series I want the bullying to be done with, so I just didn’t like Steele here. I just really hope Melinda can pull out some epic redemption arc for him, because then it will have been worth reading. Although that’s not true..finally getting to see action between Tyler and Hawke 🔥, then Tyler Hawke and Peyton 🔥🔥, but Tyler ⚔️Hawke, Peyton and Colton…while Steele has to watch? 🔥🔥🔥☠️⚡️

I was in a Tyler Hawke sandwich, and I wasn’t about to complain.

Overall though this was too short. 175 pages is not enough especially with new characters are introduced which is odd at this point, but I actually liked them and drama they bring. 😉 But the cliffhanger? Eh, you can try to pull a betrayal plotline early on in a series, but not this late so I’m not overly worried that there isn’t a reason for what happened 🤷🏻‍♀️

That said, I have enjoyed this series and am looking forward to the final book! I need these secrets answered!

I just love this entire series even though there was a cliffhanger
REVERSE HAREM 🫶🏾 Steele (you irk me, I still love you but stop being a bitch and fuck Peyton, waiting for them to have hot angry make up sex 🦦💀) , Tyler , Hawke and Colton.
The MMF scenes between Tyler and Hawke mmmmm yes
I also loved reading about Tyler and Hawke alone and getting to understand their relationship a bit more.
Colton is just 😍😍😩
The group sex scene too 😍😍
I am curious about Bennett and Landon 😏 (If there’s more WOOOO)
Secret Society 🤫
Anyways this was phenomenal and I had to read till the end through I paused everything I was doing for this book.
Was it worth it? YES.
I still can’t comprehend what happened at the end and I have no words 🥹😭😭😭

I started The Savage Kings of St Ivy series as a BABE Book Club monthly read and it drew me in with the drama and angst filled story and the suspense that bled from the pages. Melinda Terranova left us on a gripping cliffhanger at the end of the second book, Savage Lies, and I was eagerly awaiting the release of book three Tainted Promises to see how everything resolved.

Firstly, how did I not know that this series was more than a trilogy! I reached 85% when it finally occurred to me there was still too much angst, tension and loose ends to wrap up in the remaining pages. Which leads me to the second point Melinda Terranova does it again! She has managed to up the stakes in this suspense and action fueled storyline and just continues to gives readers more twists and turns. The plot is a rollercoaster of epic proportions as our FMC Peyton is absolutely put through the wringer emotionally and physically in this book. Tainted Promises also turns up the steam for our reverse harem and the boys each deliver in their own way. We also get to see a bit more behind the Brotherhood’s cloak of darkness and I am loving every dark drop of mystery secret societies are bringing to books right now.

Just when I thought I was going to get answers Tainted Promises slapped me with another brilliantly written cliffhanger which left me wanting more and craving the release of the next book in this amazing series.

So uh … the author just completely ignored her own epilogue from the second book and went in a totally different (and imo worse) direction with Steele and Peyton? This shit sucked! It’s book three out of four can we dispense with the damn bullying/shitty attitude toward someone you “supposedly” love?!?

Other than that shitshow the rest of this was excellent. I love the other guys and Peyton. I love Hawke with Ty. I even love these twins but this book was sadly too short to really get any depth on them.

I’m not freaking out about that cliffhanger because honestly if those four did what the author wants us to assume they did then she can dump their asses for the twins and id still be happy with the ending of the series. Enough is enough.

There are many gaps in the storyline and it feels all over the place so that knocked another star off. She’s supposed to be getting this training and that never happens (except AFTER she’s forced to do something for the “brotherhood” to prove herself) and it’s 10 min of boxing into a threesome (which was fine) … but that’s it on the training. And the same type of ending as the last few books. 🤦🏽‍♀️

I’m sorry but…

WTH was that?!?!?! I came into Tainted expecting my broken, shattered heart to at least be starting to heal or put back together but then the ending comes and I’m left on the edge again! I’ve been pulling for Steele but I don’t want to love to hate him anymore, I just want to love him!!! Peyton has always been one of my favorite FMCs because of her strength and I can’t wait to watch her dig deep and keep fighting because I have faith that’s what is coming.

Tainted is one of the most well written books that comes in the middle of a series. Often this is where a series can lag or lose focus but Ms. Melinda kept the twists coming and I wasn’t prepared for this book at all. Not only did she bring the twists and keep the steam while continuing to build the relationships and the characters, new characters were introduced that have the potential to play a major role in the future of the story and no characters were forgotten either. A tremendous book by an amazing author and I cannot wait for the next book!

This is the third book in this series and it is not a stand alone so you need to read the other two first. OMG did this series get so much better. I just finished it and I'm still reeling from it. This series sucks you in while you are reading it and you literally can't put it down because you just have to know what happens next. Peyton is having to constantly face more and more it seems like. It's like she just can't catch a break and at first the guys are not there for her so she feels lost. Colton, Tyler, and Hawke seem to step up even more in this book but Steele goes back to how he was in the first book. It shows that he is hurting but doesn't know how to handle all the feelings he is having about everything that happened to Payton at the end of the second book. Don't even get me started on the end because OMG I so didn't see that coming and now I just want to know what happens next. If you like enemies to lovers, reverse harem, secret societies, and high school spicy books then you really should read this book.

Okay there’s a few things going on here that I’m not totally loving.

3⭐️ She seems to be playing with fire a lot and actively inciting their jealousy and rage which I can understand to a point. She feels rejected by them at times but I just feel like she’s attracted to every single dude that she encounters. She has some horn Dog response to them all and I just feel like maybe she should settle down a little bit that’s all.

I also don’t really know where we’re going with the plot. I feel a bit confused. We haven’t really learnt more about this secret society staff it just feels like it’s dribbling in and I want a little bit more of a cascade of plot points.

The spice is good. I like the MM action in this book and the trio development. That’s a nice angle. The spice is probably their main redeeming factor for this. I enjoy the different varieties with them all.

The miscommunication trip is getting played hard and I’m not really into it. I’m a bit over it. I feel like they should just talk to each other. One more book to go.

This has been one insane ride that Ms. Terranova has taken us on since book one.

These boys and their secrets, lies, deceit has totally have had my head spinning and these cliffhangers have had my brain reeling!!

I honestly can't get enough and I want MORE, MORE and MORE!! I feel like we can't get enough and every time I reach the end I want to cry because I feel like the books are too short and wish them to be longer. IF ONLY!

I honestly won't say too much because I don't want to divulge but I can tell you that you will be in one hell of a ride from book 1 all the way to book 3 and I'm sure we will continue to get more from this author. She's been on a bender with these boys and Peyton and Capri, these girls are everything and have such a great bond for being stepsisters.

And let me just say the sexy times in these books are just to die for (s-e-x-y)!!

5 TAINTED STARS!!

What. Just. Happened.

Tainted Promises picks up where Savages Lies left off. There is so much happening during this book that I never knew what was going to happen next. One moment everything seems semi-okay and then the next there is a curveball thrown at me. Steele is at war with himself the whole book. I am ready for him to just stop and get it together. We see more of the Tyler and Hawke's relationship in this one too. I love them both so much.

I loved the introduction to the new characters. Excited to see how they will fall into place. I do enjoy both of their characters. They were a nice balance to Steele being an ass.

I was reading and reading and reading and now there are no more pages and I need answers. I think my jaw is permanantly on the floor. I am so excited for the next one and cannot wait to see how everyone is going to get out of where they are now...

I am not ok with this ending. I am just not. Picture me just trying to keep scrolling, hoping more pages will come. But the only words I see are "Thank You for reading Tainted Promises". No, Melinda. You are not welcome. What in the actual F was that ending?? This book focused on Peyton after her ordeal in the last book. And I have to say, Peyton is a whole lot stronger than I could ever hope to be. Especially if she has to deal with Steele's shenanigans. No sir, you do not get to be the raging a-hole. But he is. And someone needs to give him a right ole punch to the head and tell him to shape up. But Peyton still has her friends. And she still has the support of her other guys, Tyler, Hawke and Colton. I need to know what happens next.

Tainted Promises

😱😱😱 that cliffhanger is just... wtf... my girl Peyton just keeps getting the sh!tty end of everything. I really hope to see her get all of the revenge she deserves for the things that keep happening to her. Steele... I truly feel for him. He needs to open up to Peyton and get over the whole she deserves someone better and stop being an as$ho!e to push her away. Tyler and Hawke are awesome together. I love how sweet they are with Peyton. Colton... I'm not certain how I exactly feel about him. That ending has me upset with him, lol. The Brotherhood and their rules are irritating to me. The parents need to go, well their fathers I should say need to go for sure. Bunch of effing dirtbags. Is it time for book 4 yet???

Holy sh... What did I just read!? I am not okay right now; this book was brutal in every single way... It's emotional, it's dark, it's spicy and it makes you want to hit some of these characters. I'm getting a serious case of whiplash from how these guys are behaving towards Peyton. Perhaps a good asskicking is exactly what they all need to get their heads on straight again.

That's about how far my words are going right now... I'm still reeling from everything I just read and I have no idea how to put everything I'm feeling into words. This book was bloody awesome, bloody brutal and now I might never be the same again...

I had been on pins and needles waiting for this book and I nearly fell off my bed reading the last chapter. How are you going to end it with that cliffhanger?! Then I was mad at myself because I inhaled this book and read it all in one night. LOL! I was sad for Peyton for all that she's been through, but I was really disappointed in Steele. I wanted to smack some sense into him. I'm so glad that Peyton is finally coming around and I just love Hawke and Colton. There is still so much to uncover within this series and the web of lies just keep growing. I don't know who to believe or what's going to come next. But I am definitely ready for the next book to come.

I am completely obsessed with this series. It continues to keep me on my toes. Steele gas been my absolute favorite since he came and stood behind her in the ocean. He's a special soul, the more broken and mysterious the character I want them the most. He is so similar to Payton. He struggles with his emotions and she just wants to hold him tight. He keeps hurting her in the worst ways.

Payton struggled with her loss all by herself. She doesn't know or understand the brotherhood, to just be pulled into it. Her being confused on those twins. All the while enjoying Colton, Hawke and Tyler together 😈
