Tired of zombie stories? Tired of creepy kid and demon stories? This book combines all three into one hell of a book. The characters evolve in a way you don't expect. There's so much gore you'll want to wear a rain coat. Bring on book two!

4.5 stars rounded up to 5.
I really enjoyed the author's intro. I'll paraphrase, but he kinda said he saw a post on FB about worn out horror tropes. So he got the bright idea to combine zombies, evil kids, and haunted houses. And it's a job well done. There was a bit too much sex in it for my tastes. I felt like I was reading a soft porn. But that aside, I read it like an 80's horror flick. Cheesy. Almost comedic. But I like that kind of stuff.

As If having to deal with zombies wasn't bad enough, it seems there is a supernatural presence to deal with too! Also, these zombies are able to communicate with each other and think for themselves! Scary stuff!
This series gets off to a very creepy start, and stays pretty damn creepy throughout! (I found myself seeing things out of the corner of my eye on more than one occasion whilst reading! 😉) It's also steamy 🥵, sick, brutal and gory, with some subtle humor weaved in too! Very well written, I loved every word of it!!
I also love how Justin mixes the zombie and demonic possession genres so smoothly! Like they were meant to go together! It's a very unique twist and it works really, really well!
I also related to this as it would be just my luck to be caught in a zombie apocalypse and the house I decide to seek shelter in is possessed by a demon! 👿😉
The story finishes with a great cliffhanger of an ending, leaving me desperate to continue the journey!!
5 horny zombies from me 🧟‍♀️🧟‍♀️🧟‍♀️🧟‍♀️🧟‍♀️

I haven't read any zombie books before. I love the television show TWD and movies, but I've never read anything in this genre before so I wasn't too sure how I'd go. I was also nervous because I'm friends with the author - what if I didn't like it? I've been offered an ARC... what would I do? I shouldn't have worried and everything I say below is an honest and genuine review.

Boote smashed this debut out of the ball park and hit a home run. The colour and description was incredible, and I felt fully immersed in the story. I even cringed a bit at times and my mouth dropped a couple.

The story centres on a young woman Samantha, her father Chris and mum Jackie. They are trapped in a house and there is a zombie apocolypse outside. Okay, same old trope you reckon? Nope, Boote adds Demons and Viagra to make it hot and spicy. Samantha becomes obsessed with the undead and starts to lust after them. She is overtaken by a demon and will stop at nothing to sate her fully awakened carnal desires.

This was incredibly written, the storytelling brilliant. I know the author, and could tell he pushed past his own fears to deliver a sexually-charged twist on the genre. I felt like I was reading a book by someone of the calibre of King but without the waffle.

If I can recommend one book this year, it would have to be this one. The best part is there are four more to this series. Each released only three weeks apart. Enough time for a slow reader like me to gobble it up in time for the next.

Do yourself a favour, grab this book. I promise you won't regret it.

Five solid stars.

So, I don't particularly like zombies, not one bit to be honest. Yet, when I heard about this series and loving the Monster series so much, I decided to try it anyway.

Well... I'm so glad I did. This book introduces us to Chris, Jackie, and Samantha/Sam, a family that somehow managed to escape the moment the virus spread. They are among the few survivors. They even believe they might be the sole survivors. They break into a house, which fortunately is well stocked with rations, but the house is not what it seems, either, with shadows roaming and a constant stench of rot and decay.

While Chris is doing everything to save his family, his wife is getting drunk each day, and their daughter is getting... other interests...

All I will say is zombies and viagra? THAT GIRL IS WILD FOR THAT.

So now I'm forced to buy all these books as well, because with an ending like that... You can't do that to people Justin!

What a wild ride book 1 of this series was! Zombies? Check! A teenager full of angst trapped in a dilapidated mansion with her bickering parents? Check! A demon looking for a new home/body? Check! But if you think you know how this story will go, think again! By combining these two well trodden territories, the author manages to bring some (undead) life back into these genres.
The other fun thing about this read was the pacing. I had an idea of how this story might work in the context of a 5 book series. Those assumptions were thrown out the window faster than you can shoot a undead in the head. I have absolutely no idea where the story will go from here or what new perils the characters will face. That leaves me anxiously awaiting the arrival of book 2!

Received a arc copy from the Author free in exchange for a honest review. Chris had been working on how to rid England of the piles of rubbish that was non-reuseable, but virus that was going to be part of it escaped from the lab. He was able to grab his wife, Jackie and daughter, Samantha and escape to the country. Finding a house that has a generator and food supplies they could use.
The people who are infected started turning into zombies, but a sub-group of them, though dead, retained some basic knowledge.
Life wasn't the greatest between Chris, Jackie and Samantha. Chris was working constantly on trying to find a vaccine. Jackie, the bored housewife was turning to alcohol. But for a teenager who had just discovered sex, Samantha only had what she brought with her to satisfy her. That is until the demon that possessed the house decided to get involved with Samantha. What's a girl to do when the only males around, other than her dad are the undead.

Great read! Can’t wait for the next one!

This was not your normal zombie story, which I do love all things zombie. It is a unique zombie book with a twist of paranormal/daemon possession, with great characters that drew me in and kept me wanting more. So you get that creepy vibe, while also experiencing blood and gore and anticipating what’s going to happen next. I am anxiously awaiting book 2!

I love zombies.

Not as much as Samantha loves them though.

Anyone who reads zombies knows that a lot of them are the same. And I love them despite that sameness. But every once in a while you read one that has a little something that makes it stand out. This is one of those books. Not only do we have zombies, we have different levels of zombies. Zombies and what they call half breeds. There is real hope for a cure. There’s demon possession and a haunted house. There is also some zombie sex stuff, which doesn’t come off as erotic, but the imagery sure is vivid. Because this isn’t set in the USA, the survival experience is way different than most zombie books I’ve read. Fewer guns. No redneck survival groups dominating all remaining survivors. No finding huge trucks to plow their way through the zombie hordes. It’s a refreshing new (to me at least) take on zombies.

This volume ends on a cliffhanger. I think even if it hadn’t, I’d still want to continue the series.

Wow... I wanted to read something that was disturbing, dirty and bit scary BUT with good writing style. This checked every box. So well written, but also not for the sensitive. Right to the end I was hooked, nothing slow about this, from the beginning it didn't slow down. First time reading Justin Boote but I guarantee it won't be the last I read.

WOW! This was an intense ride!
I'm not a big fan of Zombie books--not sure why--but this was nothing like I had expected. It combines Demons and Zombies. There's gore, there's sex, there's.. well, just read it. It was well written and left you on a Good cliffhanger for the next book. All 5 books are now available so you will not be left with a hangover until the next one releases.
AMAZING! Glad I read it, and looking forward to finishing the series.

4.5 stars! This is a very gross, very nasty little book and I can’t wait to finish the rest of the series! It takes the term ‘guilty pleasure’ to another level.

This was a fun book to read. It has zombies, demons, smut, gore….what else can you ask for? It isn’t over the top gory, but there are some spots where I cringed. I have never read a book with this type of storyline, which made it that much more fun to read. It isn’t your typical demon possession or zombie apocalypse book, there are some fun twists and turns. It does end on quite a cliffhanger, so now on to book 2 to find out what happens. If you are looking for a something completely different, that fits into multiple genres and is a quick and fun read, this is a good book to pick up.

Good read!

Good read! It was like Land of the Dead (2005) meets The Exorcist. I would consider this extreme horror. A good bit of sex and gore. Looking forward to the next book!

Genuinely, this book has me feeling some kinda way, and it’s not good.
I’d like to start off by saying that this book is definitely more horror than anything else, and is definitely trying to make you feel uncomfortable. It succeeded in multiple ways, and I was genuinely nearly sick at some of the descriptions.
My second point will be that I am in no way a prude (check my reading history, we got some unique reads in there for sure), but the descriptions in the sex scenes in this book genuinely had me feeling like my 70-year-old grandma, disgusted and feeling a bit ill really.

I think if this book had left out the very gruesome, gory and plain weird details of the sex scenes, this book would have definitely scored higher for me. But, it just didn’t do it for me. Maybe this coagulation of horror and smut just isn’t for me? Who knows. I’m sure someone else will love this book - I just personally didn’t and really don’t want to pick up the next.
I will say, the plot was great, if not a bit predictable - but I don’t mind that at all!!

The ending off this book seems to be missing. Book to talks about Chris and Jackys excepting from there daught Samantha. And Samantha being shot. Book 1 dose not have the ending. What happened?

This was such an interesting zombie survival story.  Definitely not for those with a weak stomach. It was gross, disgusting, and thrilling. Don't waste your time buying book 1... BUY the whole series!!!
Very strong sexual scenes...readers beware . I absolutely loved this book.

This is a brilliant first book in the Undead Possession Series. As Justin Boote says in his introduction, he sought to combine some (if not all) of the horror tropes that people were fed up with into one book. The result is a killer debut that is unlike anything I've read before. It's got everything: zombies, demons, creepy young people, as well as some humour and a cliffhanger that leaves you wanting to launch into the second book immediately. While it's not for the faint-hearted (it has plenty of sex and gore), it's perfect for horror fans who are interested in something fresh and original.

I think a threw up in my mouth a few times, but man was I hooked.

This is my first book by Justin Boote, and I have to admit, I've never read anything quite like it. I have bought the rest of the series one time because I need to know where this is going and how it's going to end.

Boote has a rather straight forward writing style which I appreciate because it makes for a spooky telling and makes the gross scenes... well... super gross.

The descriptions were on point and like I said, I threw up a little. Here's to full on hugging the bowl with book 2.
