Dr. Adam Cassidy knew two things: life isn’t easy and fate’s a bitch.
Adam's last mission cost him an eye, his memory, and any chance of staying with his military brothers-in-arms on Guardian's Alpha Team. He'd scraped together the remnants of his life. He’d refined, rebuilt and pushed on alone, while every night, sleep tortured him with the fleeting memory of the warm, welcome press of the soft breasts and lips of a faceless, nameless woman.
Keelee Marshall knew all about loss. She couldn't forget their brief nights of passion—but Adam had. The man she loved beyond reason had disappeared on the battlefields of Afghanistan. It seemed she would have to win his love all over again, and in Adam's ignorance, he was pushing her into the arms of a man she didn’t want and a future devoid of romance.
Love can trump the cards fate has dealt both of them. But only if the man holding the cards is a Guardian.

Too much repetition from last book.

I totally understand Doc's issues. I felt so sorry for Keelee

They were both screwed by the events that hurt Doc

But what Doc did do 2 years prior - he should have had to put in a little grovel. However. Do not fault Keelee for forgiving so readily. They had both suffered horribly.

Shocked and awed! This series has become one of my very favorite. It is suspenseful, full of action, love and a complete collection of characters that you grow to love more and more through each book. Doc, Adam, and Keelee are no exception. Their story was just more than one book could hold.

They met in Jacob's book, sort of became friends in Joseph's book and this is the conclusion? In this book. While I am sure their story will follow on through the other books this is considered their story. Now, you should know that I haven't told you everything in that little synopsis and you must read all three books to get to the heart of this story.

Once again I face the dilemma of figuring out what to tell you without giving away anything so after you read the author's teaser know that it is well worth the small amount of money for the huge story you are going to be reading. This is not a small book or a novella, it is a full length book. The details of which always are so amazing I am continuously surprised by this author's imagination.

Also, there are some real, I did not see that coming, in this book as well. My favorite quote from this book is, "Whatever it takes. As long as it takes."

I hope you enjoy this as much as I have.

Adam is the third book in the series, but you do not need to read the other two books in the series to enjoy it. "Hell no Skipper, I'm afraid of the dark and I think I might just cry." Adam is a doctor and a Guardian, a strong alpha blend of man. When he is damaged and loses sight in one eye and his memory, things change for him and not necessarily all in a good way. When he comes home to Keelee, he doesnt remember her or their past. Keelee forgives him and does her best to move on. Then in one giant swoop, Adam remembers and everything changes. He has amends to make and quickly, before he loses Keelee to another man. "Dr. Cassidy, shut up and love me.". Absolutely fantastic book, I could not put it down. So many feels......Enjoy! I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Keelee and Adam story, When I first read her sisters book thought keelee was a bitch and just stuck up then I read her in Ember story and she was sweet so I was glad she ended up being sweet. Anywho I love this second chance book, glad adam got his memory back and decided to fight for his love. They were cute together throw in a crazy ex and adam went all protective which was great. I love seeing the rest of the family together as well as seeing her father fall in love with the king's mother. can't wait to read more of the brothers.

Kris Michaels is a genius! Adam is the 3rd book in her "King of Guardian" series. When we left off in Joseph, Adam had regained his memory...I couldn't wait for his story to be released.
Adam's story is one of love found, lost, and then found again. It was touching, emotional, exhilarating, exciting, adventurous, and you can't help but fall in love with Adam.

Kris is a fantastic author who knows how to write sexy strong women, and the men to match a strong female lead. Keelee epitomizes that strong sexy female that I love to read about..keep these books coming Ms. Michaels. You have a fan for life!

The Kings of Guardian series has become a bit of an addiction for me. I want to just ignore life and stay glued to my kindle until I’ve read them all! Wonderful stories to escape into. Adam’s story is a little lighter on suspense, but that isn’t a bad thing.

Best one so far!

This is the third entry in the Guardians series and by far the one I found the most engrossing. The main characters Adam and Keelee are flawed people who find their way back to each other. Reading the first two books in the series gives the reader a better appreciation for this though there is a recap at the start of the book with some new insight that gets everyone up to speed.

I particularly liked how this issue touches on some significant and timely issues but not in a trite way. The danger this time doesn't come from international terrorists or drug cartels but rather from insidious evil much more common and closer to home. I also was intrigued by some hints dropped that I am hoping are foreshadowing for a future book. I'm really sucked in to Ms. Michaels' world right now and if she is leading where I think one story may be going I will be very impressed with that story on top of this one.

Oh Adam!

He is such a good man, but so bad at facing his demons and explaining them so Keelee actually understands that it really is him and not her! It doesn't help that Kee is especially firey and defensive, they are explosive together but need to work on communication and making that a positive, sexy explosive, rather than a confrontational explosive!

I like this series and Adam brought a new dimension - no overseas story, here, just action at the ranch in South Dakota with Doc and his recovery from a TBI that has caused him to forget the previous two years, including Kelee. A good solid story.

Heartbreaking and HEA

Loved the layers in this. It touched lightly on so many issues in the world today and still gave a HEA. Delivered suspense, steam and heartbreak. Provided smiles and hope. This series has sucked me in.

I received an ARC copy of this book from Troll River R4R event.

This is the third book in the series and I found it could definitely be read as a standalone. I read the first book in the series, and met Adam there liking his character. Intriguing enough I was hoping his would have been the second but I found it didn't matter as the author gave enough so the reader doesn't feel like they have missed out.

Adam and Keelee's story start in the first book where they met originally and in this we go back and see it from their POV, which I liked. After the last mission that Adam went on left him injured and with loss of memory of their first meeting and the connection they had and lost the book continues from there. With Adam back on the compound the first few chapters actually fly by in time as in years passed and I think in this period the second book happens, but that doesn't matter. What does is that he finally gets his head out of his ass and stops feeling sorry for himself and tries to get better, unfortunately as he doesn't remember what happens with Keelee, she and him spend this period as friends. With him pushing her into the only other man who's shown an interest in her Clint.

When he regains his memory over two years later, he realises what a fool he is and rushes back to claim his woman and apologise for how he left it, returning to the ranch/compound, he finds she's gone out in the snow to save what she believes is a family at a remote area. Of course this doesn't go as planned and she ends up injured and gets saved again by Adam, returning to he scene of the original crime ( of passion).

Keelee is surprised that Adam has turned up , even more so when he declares he's remembered and his feelings for her. Things then take a passionate turn and they end up getting their love bunnies on. This is why I like Keelee, she is immensely practical, after waiting for so long she forgives and goes for what she wants, no hidden agendas or missish airs. Plain out yep , he's finally back to me, why not go ahead and get the love I can now.

Things then take a drastic turn when Clint turns up and really not expected the turn of events here as he loses it and attacks her. Queue the Guardians again doing their thing as we see that Clint have a few issues he's been hiding.

I found this book to be really slow paced, no intense danger except for a few scenes with Clint and that situation. Majority of the book focused on Adam and Keelee's relationship. We see the other budding relationships of the King family, and possible next romances. It was well done and i like it, but didn't love it. Great addition to the series and to the other plots for future books. I would read more of this series from the author, as the King family as a whole intrigues me.

Recommend for fans of contemporary romance with a bit of military and cowboys thrown in.

Nice Series!!

I really liked Adam as the romantic lead. I sometimes had trouble with his female love interest KeeLed because I thought she was sophomoric in her interactions with Adam. Overall it was a good read to escape the boredom of the day.

Great addition to the series.

This is a really great action-packed, sweet and incredibly romantic romantic suspense novel. What I will say is that if you don’t like an insecure heroine, this might not be for you.

The premise is that Black Ops Team Doctor, Adam, suffered serious injury and lost an eye and his recent memory when his team was ambushed in Afghanistan. Now back in America, he has a second chance at love with rancher Keelee, whose heart he smashed before his tragic mission.

This is a great addition to the series. I think it can sort of be read as a standalone but I think the series reads better with context. One thing that really sells this book as a standalone is the fact that about a quarter of the book is rehashing events that you might already have read in Books 1 and 2- yes it’s done from a different perspective (Adam and Keelee’s perspective this time as main characters) but it was a bit repetitive especially as I’m currently binging the series and so just read these things recently. If you were starting with this book, this repetition probably wouldn’t bother you. This is a great series that I highly recommend. I think the experience is just miles richer if you start from book 1.

Adam and Keelee really go through a lot during this book. Adam and Keelee have a huge misunderstanding right before his deployment that cost him an eye and his memory. Keelee has not forgotten Adam, nor what he said to her the last time they really spoke before he left for his mission. Adam has no memory of Keelee or what transpired between them so he is unaware of the damage he caused her. Keelee is able to put the past behind her and accept the friendship that Adam offers her. When Adam does finally remember, he does everything in his power to get Keelee to forgive him. Keelee is able to accept his apology and let him prove to her what she means to him. An unexpected person close to Keelee is not happy with the new couple and takes some pretty drastic measures to try and keep her from being with Adam. We do see the whole cast of characters from Kings of Guardian and find them all moving on, some have even had a relationship in secret that finally comes out during this book. It was very interesting and the plot moved at a good clip. The resolution at the end of their story was very nice for both Adam and Keelee as he now has a chance to have his dreams come true.

A great tale of love conquers all

I've loved reading about the king brothers and there extended family. Adam is a great character, alpha, healer, protector and warrior. His relationship with keeley is fought with with understandings and angst.

While this book does not have the intensity or hard core action of the first two books in the Kings of Guardian series, Adam is no less entertaining. Adam and Keelee, after a couple of false starts, finally embrace the love they have for one another. Adam's single minded determination to win Keelee's heart was wonderful. Keelee wore her anguish over losing the one man she loved stoically. Accepting Adam's declaration of love after years of loneliness gave her pause but her belief in the man made her open her heart to him.

This wouldn't be a Guardian's book without some suspense and action. New characters are introduced, future storylines are hinted at and the Wonder twins made me chuckle as usual. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Physician heal your self!

Dr. Adam Cassidy, doctor for Alpha team of Guardian Security, is a wounded man. Scars, amnesia and confusion about his future plaque him. He's hole up at the Marshall Ranch, South Dakota, recovering from his plight. But there's something about Keelee, Frank Marshall's daughter, that he knows he should remember. As we read through the background of Adam and Keelee's relationship we get a new and refreshing perspective of what happened to them. And now we get to see how it will all turn out. Truly suspenseful yet masterful for character build up and plot development. Really an absorbing book.

It Just Keeps Getting Better

I am now on a quest to read all the books in this series. Adam and Keelee had quite the journey to find their HEA but oh what a trip! The gritty realism of two strong willed people who have to find the way to love was believable and intense. They both had hurts to overcome, and learning to lean on the other's strength was such a great story to read. I loved it.

Needed to change my reading genre to some seriously alpha men . I stumbled upon a few authors but none captured my attention as far as their storytelling the way Kris did.
Love these books and the spin off series. They keep on getting better and better.

Unfortunately, this one just didn’t do it for me. Too much repeating exactly what happened in one of the previous books. I liked Doc and Keely grew on me. The “I love you’s” were rushed and too soon. The situation with Clint got out of control. It was a bit boring.
