Running from Death would be easier if he wasn’t so gorgeous.
When Tandi rescued Tamara from her evil Vampire Queen mother, Tam didn’t hang around. All she wanted was to live a normal life. Go to college, read books, and command people to do what she wanted. So, when Death started stalking her, Tamara started running.
But no-one can hide from Death forever, and when he finally tracks her down, she knows she’s in trouble. It’s not just the crazy plan he has, but Wowzer! Turns out Death is drop dead gorgeous. Who would have thought?
When Tamara finally decides to listen to the hunky man holding the scythe, she discovers someone is raising the dead. Because of her Zombie King father, she has the power of necromancy, and maybe she can be the one to stop whoever is creating the zombie army. But those are dangerous paths to tread. If she goes too far, she might cause her own death rather than, well, Death doing so.
Tamara will have to go way beyond what she ever thought was possible to stop the growing evil. The question is, will she be able to find her way back again?
Oh how I adore this series and these characters. Poor Red is so sweet and kind despite what her mother did to her . I so glad she got taken out. Death 💀 is such A stubborn mule but I think he found his match in Red.
Ok now this book had me from the start this series had been brilliant and book 5 did not disappoint me at all I didn’t want to finish it, and death wow brilliant character loved him or should I say Wes lol, I have now added all this authors book to my wishlist. Book 6 can’t wait to read x
Tamara is the daughter of the Vampire Queen and the Zombie King. She is extremely powerful and is wanted by several people so they can use her as a tool. One of the people chasing after her is Death himself. He needs her for something, but Tamara is tired of being used,
When Death finds her, she realizes it's impossible to escape him. So, she has two options: help him with what he needs and bail or kill him first. However, Tamara doesn't realize how invincible and strong Death is. The two of them banter back and forth and while some is true anger, the other is an emotion Tamara is struggling to shake. She realizes very quickly that Death is more than just her kidnapper.
THE ZOMBIE QUEEN is full of humor, romance, and action and even though she's sought after by many people, Tamara still remains a strong female lead. As for Death, I would take him as my mate any day. He is fiercely protective, incredible strong, and irresistibly good-looking. The relationship between the two is like a love/hate one and both struggle to come to terms what fate has in store for them. This is the first book I've read by Brandi Elledge and it has me curious about reading more.
Final Verdict: I would recommend this book to fans of the supernatural, playing with Death, action, slow burn romance, strong females, zombies, and humor.
Okay, so I LOVE the plot, the characters, and the entire series. I just wish some things were different: fewer spelling errors (it interrupts the flow of the book, and it's not just this book in the series); the characters do feel a little flat, like not as rounded as I would've liked; their entire lives seem to revolve around their romantic partner, wish there were more scenes one on one with other characters. But this book holds a special place in my heart, and I've even made a playlist for it :). I still recommend it, the ideas and plot are absolutely amazing and different from anything I've seen!
There isn't anything wrong with the book. However, I feel like the series is going to go on forever and each relationship is like a repeat of all the others...discover your mate, spend whole book avoiding the mating, end up mating anyway. I think I'm calling it quits on this series :(
Each book in this series amazes in a different way. There is always a lot of snark, and taming of the shrew moments. But the ideas that come together that fill up the initial meeting, to the happy ending are each very unique and creative. It is impossible to put down the book, and very hard to stop before completing the series.
He goes from one extreme to the other and frankly these two exhausted me. Yes the story ends sweetly and parts are humorous, but I spent a bit of time being annoyed and a "here" instead of a"hear" was nearly the last straw for the horrible editing of these books. It almost had me throwing my device and quitting this series. Two more books? Don't know if I'll make it.
The previous book was my fave but this is probably my second for now- we’ll see where the next one takes us. However I think this needs a lot of editing in the first half which drops the stars.
This story felt drawn out with dry spells that didn't feel like they lead to bigger things. There is also a lot of discrepancies in details and enough errors in the book to make you feel like the editor and publisher didn't take the time to review it thoroughly before publishing.
Read all eight of the books in this series now and loved everyone of them. Quick, easy reads which do get a little bit samey plot wise but they still held my attention right to the end of the last one
Each of these, stories has been amazing in this we meet Tamara officially and tango with west. This was such aan amazing stories like this series our couple must overcome the crazy but in the end sometimes we learn it's all worth it.
I have read the entire series but I felt like this book was extra long and some things just weren't needed for this story. It was still good but just a little too much
