Winter has come, but Dar won’t be able to rest just yet. An emissary of The White comes through Hearthway headed towards Bellhaven to investigate rumors of their treatment towards the ancient races.
While entirely true, Dar has already taken care of those responsible and follows Karn into Bellhaven to observe and further his own goals.
For when the little dao tree absorbed the Mo in the form of a colossal spider, it changed and sprung up new potential within him. Dar wants to see if the devil problem in Bellhaven can’t lead him to another Mo and more power.
Yet the trip to Bellhaven yielded more information than he expected. The winter was just the first of their problems.
Born and raised in the agricultural midwest, I moved every year after school even as far as Shanghai before settling down with my wife in Chicago.
I have always enjoyed Wuxia stories and became thrilled when I discovered harem stories spreading to western books. I've written down my day dreams for years as an idle hobby. Inspired by the harem genre I'm finally fleshing them out into full blown novels.
I'm excited to share my stories with you as I turn them into novels and series.
Introduction: Greetings, fellow travelers of tales and seekers of sagas. From the icy expanse of HowlStrom, where the winds whisper ancient stories and the frost carries the magic of ages, I, Kiba Snowpaw, the Alpha Ice Wolf Mage, present to you my reflections on "Dao Disciple," the third entrancing volume in the "First Immortal" series. As the snow blankets my homeland, so too does the allure of this tale envelop its readers, drawing them into a world where magic, power, and destiny intertwine.
Basic Plot Summary: Winter's embrace is upon the world, but for Dar, the chill is but a backdrop to the challenges ahead. An emissary's arrival, the mysteries of Bellhaven, and the tantalizing potential of the dao tree set the stage for a journey of discovery, power, and intrigue.
Analysis/Evaluation: Sentar's narrative is a masterful blend of traditional fantasy elements with innovative magical concepts. The dao tree's evolution, the interplay of ancient races, and the political undercurrents create a rich tapestry that resonates with the timeless tales of HowlStrom.
Characters: Dar, our protagonist, is a beacon of growth, both in power and character. His interactions, decisions, and the weight of responsibility he bears are reminiscent of the leaders of HowlStrom's ancient packs. The supporting cast, each with their unique strengths, challenges, and desires, adds depth and dimension to the narrative.
Structure: The pacing is impeccable. Like a well-composed symphony, moments of calm introspection are seamlessly interwoven with heart-pounding action, ensuring the reader remains engaged throughout.
Impact: "Dao Disciple" is not just a story; it's an experience. It evokes a range of emotions, from the thrill of battle to the introspection of meditation, mirroring the duality of HowlStrom's fierce blizzards and serene snowfalls.
Hook and Thesis: The allure of power, the challenges of leadership, and the quest for knowledge are universal themes that resonate across worlds, be it the fiery landscapes of Bellhaven or the icy terrains of HowlStrom.
Praise and Critique: Sentar's world-building is commendable, and his character development is intricate. However, while the harem elements are tastefully done, a deeper exploration of individual relationships would add further depth.
Evaluation: This tome is a testament to Sentar's storytelling prowess. It's a journey of magic, power, and personal growth that leaves its mark on the reader's soul.
Comparison: While "Dao Disciple" stands tall in its own right, its blend of traditional and innovative elements reminds me of the legendary tales passed down through generations in HowlStrom.
Conclusion: In the vast library of my experiences, "Dao Disciple" shines bright, a beacon of storytelling excellence. As the winds of HowlStrom carry tales of old and new, this saga will undoubtedly be sung by the bards for eons to come.
May your journeys be filled with magic, and may the tales of HowlStrom guide your path.

Thoroughly enjoyed this series so far. This the 3rd book Was no different from the 1st 2 in very enjoyable. The growth Is measured and quantifiable even if the magic is not. Dar is stilk everything anyone would.want in an MC. He is strong and loves to work for growth Even if he's particular situation is a bit of a cheat. But he not only grows himself he grows his family and his friends and his settlement. He must fight ever stronger foes which of course makes him ever stronger and he shares that strength with not only his companions but his settlement. Much more of the world politics is laid out in this book Setting the stage for a lot more conflict at a higher scale. Nation versus nation or bigger. The hair I'm aspects are very subdued and not overpowering. Quite an enjoyable read actually. I've binged the 1st 3 books and now waiting for the next
I enjoyed this one much better, I still think Dar is making a lot of mistakes. He’s still thinking like a human with a huge bleeding heart in many instances. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for charity and helping those in need but I wouldn’t touch Bellhaven… I wouldn’t go near that place, at least not with a helping hand. I’d only look out for me and mine… that place tried to destroy them not to mention paps… that was so brutal. I’m curious about Tami… Dar is still very foolish about his relationships. Sentar wasn’t kidding about taking his time with his harem relationships. Waiting whole books before a kiss is nuts. But I guess having Isaac be the speed dater through him off his game but I loved the mages cultivation so much. Dar is still warming up to me. So far though, I think Neko is the best 🤣. But he does have a brilliant representation of women in his harem. But so did Isaac. I’m interested to see what happens in the next book. Onward lads!
There are many authors out there trying their hands at writing. You come across a few of the big names and those that are written in other genres. But for the past four years I've been reading work by authors like Mr Sentar.
This series that you put together Mr Sentar is one of my favorites!!
Yes I love the characters, storyline and the plot in each book in this series.
I simply devoured this book. I could not put it down. I am disappointed that it is over, but the ending is satisfying and I look forward to the next one. Well written and edited. No complaints at all. Pick this up and all of the author’s other works. You will not regret it!
This was a great addition to the series I highly recommend this book the characters and the plot development the character development this book pulled it all together and if you really enjoy the idea of cultivation in your novels I think this one is for you.
This cultivation novel story continues and it's just as good as the last two books. There's lots of action a little bit of political intrigue cultivation and a little bit of lovey dovey time. This is definitely an adult oriented cultivation novel it's fun to read and hope to read to see what happens next in the main character story.
The rise in power the characters see in this book is very satisfying. I like seeing that more than just the people in the mc’s inner circle are given a means to defend themselves. It gives a good reassurance to the reader and the strength of the story. Awesome entry and excited for the next!
but there are sure a lot of them. Personally I would like more description of the terrain that all of these characters live and work in. And above all a better explanation of what some of the magic that is used. Such as daoud ect.
Enjoying the storyline and the characters introduced in this book, and even the pacing is not bad. Sometimes I would like a little more downtime for the MC as he is always busy fighting or powering up with little time for a bit of slice of life chapter as he toils away. Still very much enjoying this series.
More characters and more development. The story is getting good. I've enjoyed the fights and the village building. Not to mention the dao growth. The dao system really seems cool and I enjoyed that. I wish there was even more.
I kinda wish the humans weren't so antagonistic and dumb but we will see what happens next.
The story progression was well done. The mc is getting stronger and is almost op but can still take quite the beating sure fights. The harem element is tasteful as far as harem builds go.
A truly remarkable adventure!!! Wonderful characters, dynamic magical progression and some great world building!!! You'll laugh, be infuriated and cheer throughout this adventure!!!
I became interested in the series by listening to the audio book. Which led me to read the second book, then the third. Now I cannot wait to read the next one
I love Mr. Sentar's magic system and his characters in this and all of his serieses. So much fun. Actually belted out laughing at work when our sweet kitty Neko swatted at Dar's...body part. Such a great time reading this.
The sense of community that has been built by the supporting characters helps the reader fell at home. The dynamics of the main characters and their growth feels like a warm summer night. Book 4 should be an amazing finish.
This series has characters you can really get into. The story kept my interest; enough that I read the first 3 books in less than a week. Nicely done! The only negative for me is that I prefer a slower power increase, but all in all, great job.
Dar’s story keeps progressing, adding new members to his family and growing is village, a very satisfying third book and as always, almost impossible to put down
