After the terrible revelations of the past several weeks, Jane realizes she can no longer stay with her Pemberton relations. Fleeing to the countryside, she becomes a temporary guest in the home of her sister and brother-in-law.
But danger finds Jane once more, when she becomes entangled in the investigation of a local murder. And worse, the shadows of Pemberton Heights continue to beckon, threatening to draw her back once more...
Blythe Baker is a thirty-something bottle redhead from the South Central part of the country. When she’s not slinging words and creating new worlds and characters, she’s acting as chauffeur to her children and head groomer to her household of beloved pets.
Blythe enjoys long walks with her dog on sweaty days, grubbing in her flower garden, cooking, and ruthlessly de-cluttering her overcrowded home. She also likes binge-watching mystery shows on TV and burying herself in books about murder.
Jane goes to stay with her sister Anna and her husband after leaving her uncle's manor and gets involved in trying to find the baker's daughter, Abagail, who has gone missing. Not many folks seem to know the girl, but Jane discerns some clues. Can she put them all together and find Abagail before it's too late? Is there a surprise visitor?
I know its a book in a series but it ends more like a tv cliffhanger than a smooth ending. Leading into the next book. The story is very good and yes, I'm downloading the next book.
No matter what Blythe Baker writes, it is always spellbinding. Book 5 of the Jane Pemberton series adds to Ms Baker’s list of triumphs. I can’t wait for the final installment in this series.
