THE NOSTALGIA!

To be honest I had forgotten pretty much most of what happens in this book and generally in this series. I only remembered that I LOVED Laura as a child. I still do (see NOSTALGIA above).
But now, rereading as a mature adult (HAHAHAHAHAHA) I was able to recognise some probematic elements.

-Fatshaming. There was a severe case of fatphobia and harmful comments. I really hope this issue gets resolved as we move further along the series, I honestly don't remember if it does.
-Black as bad, white as evil. This is the Tolkienistic approach and it is not neceserally bad, but not good either. At the last few pages of the novel this issue started getting resolved as we come across a character who physically appears to be bad and evil, but is actually good. Still this is a tiny step towards the dissolve of this stereotype.

Δεν γνώριζα την ύπαρξη της "Λάουρα", όχι τουλάχιστον μέχρι την στιγμή όπου μου μίλησε γι' αυτήν η φίλη μου Ιφιγένεια. Ο ενθουσιασμός της ήταν τόσο μεγάλος και η παρότρυνσή της να διαβάσω την εν λόγω σειρά τόσο έντονη που είχα αποφασίσει πως θα το κάνω. Με τούτα και με εκείνα όμως, όλα και κάτι μεσολαβούσε και η βαρύτητά τους υπερτερούσε. Είδε κι απόειδε λοιπόν η φιλενάδα μου και για μια ακόμα φορά, αποφάσισε να μου χαρίσει ένα βιβλίο που ναι μεν είχα πει ότι θα διάβαζα, δεν είχα αξιωθεί να το κάνω δε. Κάπως έτσι έφτασε το πρώτο βιβλίο της "Λάουρα" στα χέρια μου, με το ταχυδρομείο, με αρκετό άγχος μην χαθεί και με διάθεση να το διαβάσω αμέσως, όχι μόνο για να ικανοποιήσω την φίλη μου δίνοντάς της την ευχαρίστηση ότι το διάβασα αλλά, για να ανακαλύψω τον λόγο που ενθουσιάστηκε τόσο πολύ η ίδια.

Ο Γερμανός Peter Freund, φαίνεται να 'ζήλεψε' λίγη από την δόξα της Rowling και παράλληλα, να θεώρησε εξαιρετικά άδικο το να πρωταγωνιστούν μονίμως αγόρια και άντρες στις ιστορίες φανταστικού, είτε απευθύνονται σε μικρούς, είτε σε μεγάλους. Έτσι αποφάσισε να αφηγηθεί και εκείνος την δικιά του ιστορία, η οποία είναι σαφέστατα επηρεασμένη από άλλες, παρόμοιας θεματολογίας, με πρωταγωνίστρια ένα 13χρονο κορίτσι που αν και δεν του φαίνεται με μια πρώτη ματιά, έχει να προσφέρει περισσότερα απ' όσα αρχικά υποθέτουμε. Και αυτό γιατί, η Λάουρα, ανήκει στις Τάξεις των Υπερασπιστών του Φωτός πράγμα που τις προσφέρει ξεχωριστές ικανότητες αλλά, την ίδια στιγμή, την επιφορτίζει με ένα μεγάλο και ιερό καθήκον που πρέπει πάση θυσία να φέρει εις πέρας προκειμένου να διατηρηθεί η τάξη και η αρμονία και το Σκοτάδι να υποχωρήσει μπροστά στο Φως για μια ακόμα φορά. Άλλωστε, πέραν όλων αυτών, το να πετύχει στην αποστολή της αυτή, είναι η μοναδική της ελπίδα να σώσει τον πατέρα της, που έχει πέσει στα χέρια του εχθρού, και να μπορέσει και πάλι να τον έχει κοντά της.

Οι ιστορίες της Λάουρα, γιατί υποθέτω ότι το ίδιο μοτίβο ακολουθούν και τα επόμενα 5 βιβλία που ολοκληρώνουν τη σειρά, κινούνται ανάμεσα σε δύο κόσμους, τον Ανθρώπινο έτσι όπως όλοι μας τον γνωρίζουμε, και τον κόσμο της Αβεντέρας. Και στα δύο αυτά επίπεδα, παρά την διαφορετικότητα ως προς την αισθητική της εποχής και τον τρόπο ζωής ως προς τα ήθη, τα έθιμα και τις συνήθειες, μια διαφορά ξεκάθαρη και έξυπνα τοποθετημένη ανάμεσα στα πλαίσια, το Καλό και το Κακό είναι έννοιες υπαρκτές και προσωποποιημένες. Τόσο στο ένα επίπεδο όσο και στο άλλο, υπάρχουν οι Υπερασπιστές του Φωτός και οι Μαχητές του Σκότους και η κάθε πλευρά, προς δικό της όφελος, προσπαθεί να κερδίσει πόντους σε μια μάχη που κρατάει εδώ κι αιώνες, με την ελπίδα πως θα έρθει η ώρα να κερδηθεί ο αγώνας εκείνος που θα σηματοδοτήσει το τέλος των εχθρών του, η τουλάχιστον των σχεδίων του, όσον αφορά την περίπτωση των Φωτεινών που αποδέχονται και γνωρίζουν πως το Καλό δεν μπορεί να υπάρξει χωρίς το Κακό και πως οι μοίρες τους είναι αλληλένδετες, άσχετα από το αν πρέπει πάντα να παλεύουν ώστε να προπορεύονται αυτών.

Επειδή ακριβώς λοιπόν η ιστορία μας μεταφέρει από τον έναν κόσμο στον άλλο, εστιάζοντας περισσότερο παρ' όλα ταύτα στον Ανθρώπινο, οι επιμελητές του βιβλίου χωρίζουν τα όρια των δύο κόσμων ξεχωρίζοντάς τα και αποτυπώνοντάς τα με διαφορετικό χρώμα μελάνη πάνω στο χαρτί, με τα κομμάτια της Αβεντέρα να έχουν ένα πορφυρό κόκκινο, τεχνική που προσωπικά δεν έχω ξαναδεί και αν μη τι άλλο, κλέβει τις εντυπώσεις. Αφήνοντας τώρα το αισθητικό κομμάτι και μπαίνοντας στην ουσία, οι περιπέτειες της μικρής μας φίλης βασίζονται σε μεγάλο κομμάτι σε μύθους και θρύλους που συνδέουν μεταξύ τους την καταγωγή της με το σχολείο της, τους δύο κόσμους και την άρρηκτα δεμένη μοίρα τους αλλά, και τους μύθους και τους θρύλους που συντροφεύουν όλα τα παραπάνω. Το κλίμα όπου διαδραματίζονται τα γεγονότα είναι ιδιαίτερα σκοτεινό κι επικίνδυνο, η δράση κλιμακώνεται σταθερά, αποπνέοντας τον αέρα επικινδυνότητας που προφανώς ο συγγραφέας θέλει να προσδώσει στην όλη ιστορία και όλα αυτά, εμποτισμένα με ισχυρές δόσεις φαντασίας και παραφυσικού στοιχείου.

Οφείλω να ομολογήσω πως η "Λάουρα" ήταν μια ευχάριστη έκπληξη η οποία όμως, ίσως να με είχε συγκινήσει περισσότερο αν δεν είχα διαβάσει τις ιστορίες του "Harry Potter", χωρίς να εννοώ πως αυτά τα δύο μοιάζουν. Απλά θεωρώ πως ο Freund, ως παραγωγός και σεναριογράφος, παρασύρεται σε ορισμένα σημεία από την κινηματογραφική του εμπειρία με αποτέλεσμα, να δημιουργούνται ορισμένες ανακολουθίες που μπορεί σε μια ταινία να περνάνε απαρατήρητες ή να μην τους δίνουμε τόσο μεγάλη σημασία, πράγμα όμως που δεν συμβαίνει και σε ένα μυθιστόρημα. Κατά τ' άλλα, στο σύνολό του, το βιβλίο είναι ενδιαφέρον, ευχάριστο και διαβάζεται με περισσή ευκολία, τόσο από τους μικρούς φίλους στους οποίους κατ' εξοχήν απευθύνεται, όσο και από τους ενήλικες που θα βρουν σίγουρα ενδιαφέρον τον κόσμο που του συστήνεται μέσα από τις σελίδες του, δημιουργώντας τους παράλληλα την επιθυμία να ανακαλύψουν τι θα συμβεί παρακάτω, περιμένοντας ακόμα πιο σκοτεινές κι επικίνδυνες περιπέτειες.

Eine Gruppe von drei Kindern im Pre-Teen-Alter: zwei von einem Geschlecht und eins vom anderen. Von den beiden gleichgeschlechtlichen ist eins "das Auserwählte", das als einziger Mensch die Welt retten kann. Seine Eltern sind nicht Teil seines Lebens, die Mutter opferte sich unter tragischen Umständen, während sie mit dem Vater für die gute Sache kämpfte. Deswegen lebt das Kind bei unliebsamen Verwandten. Das auserwählte Kind ist sehr sportlich, vor allem im Kämpfen und "reiten", dafür akademisch eher faul. Das andere Kind dieses Geschlechts hat rote Haare, mag Schokolade, ist ängstlich und eher bisschen schwer von kappé, aber sehr loyal. Das Kind des anderen Geschlechts ist superintelligent und wirkt oft besserwisserisch und arrogant. Die drei besuchen zusammen ein Internat. Dort gibt es gute Lehrer (z.B. einen weisen alten Schulleitet) und böse Lehrer (einen düsteren Mann, der den Schulleiterposten übernimmt und eine sadistische Frau in pinken Kleidern) sowie einen bösen Angestellten mit einer magischen Katze und sprechende bewegliche Bilder. Auf dem Schulgelände gibt es einen Wald und einen See. Eine Lehrperson wohnt in einer Hütte am Waldrand, wo konspirative Treffen abgehalten werden. Das auserwählte Kind muss auf dem Schulgelände einen magischen Gegenstand finden, der ewiges Leben verspricht, und dabei viele Rätsel und Fallen überwinden, indem es an sich und das Gute glaubt.
Also irgendwoher kenn ich diesen Plot, es liegt mir auf der Zunge, hmmm...

Mal abgesehen davon, dass es sich hier mit Abstand um das dreisteste Plagiat aller Zeiten handelt, ist die Geschichte auch nicht gut geschrieben. Was mich im Lesefluss z.B. sehr gestört hat, sind die Namen und Bezeichnungen der Figuren: Jede Figur hat einen "besonderen" Namen oder Spitznamen, der entweder sehr offensichtlich ist (Dr. Schwartz der böse, dunkle Lehrer, Sylvan der Waldläufer) oder sehr umständlich erklärt wird. Das wirkt jedes Mal als wäre der Autor so stolz auf den tollen Einfall, den er bei dem Namen hatte, dass er ihn unbedingt mitteilen wollte. Rein zufällig verrät der Name dann auch jedes Mal was über den Charakter...

Noch problematischer ist das offensichtliche Fat-Shaming, wobei mehrere Charaktere sowohl direkt als auch im inneren Monolog der Hauptfigur für ihr Aussehen und Gewicht beleidigt werden.

Generell empfinde ich die strikte Einteilung in gut/weiß und böse/schwarz auch und gerade für ein Jugendbuch zu plakativ. Was bringen wir der Jugend denn damit bei? Es gibt doch immer auch grau, nichts ist so eindeutig wie hier dargestellt.

Es gibt zwei Sterne und nicht nur einen, weil ich die Geschichte gerade zum Ende hin durchaus spannend fand und das Ende nicht ganz so klischeehaft war wie erwartet.

I don't exactly remember how and when I first picked that book up, but I have an idea as to where I bought it from. And, I distinctly remember reading it while on a children's camp 6 or even more years ago.
Actually it was quite funny when I saw those pink pages, and was wondering what had happened to the ink, but soon realized what was going on.
Although, I can't really say much about the writer's writing skills, because I read those series in greek (and, usually I'm not a fan of translated books), his imagination and train of events on this book, was surely captivating.

Laura soon became my friend, someone I'd really like to know in real life, and have as a friend. Her best friend has the same name with me, so it wasn't all that hard to picture it.
The series about Laura consist of the second more affecting and inspiring books I've ever read, and are some of those I have always in a corner in my mind ready for use and reminiscence.
I actually feel nostalgic about Laura and her adventures right now, and totally planning on reading the books all over again, but, then I'd also like it very much if I could get my hands on the original ones. Such a pity I don't know German... :/

But, anyway, I got totally excited awhile ago, because I found out that Laura is back with a new adventure! And, now she's 17 years old. Oh gosh, I am so touched that I'll be able to have a new piece of her soon! It will be just like we are old friends, and after some time I get news from her... I'll stop before I start crying! Sniff...

The first thing I want to say that you have to read this book when you are 10, or younger because after that age that book is too boring and too childish. If you read it when you are that age, in opinion, you will love it, but otherwise you won't be able to get into book, because now your probably searching for different types of books. Back then i could read hundreds of pages in one bite, but now, i tried to end the second sequel and i was reading one line 3000 times.
So yes, child imagination and reading capabilities will make this book an awesome one, but when you get a bit older you have different needs that you want certain book to please you.

"Laura and the Secrets of Aventerra"

Well, this book is AWESOME. I loved the way it was written , the word's combinations and the way the writer put the sentences. While I was reading this book , somehow I felt magical and I lived through every single chapter.I started this book three days ago and I was just amazed from every single story.

While I was reading it , I felt like the book was written from Rowling because it was such similar with Harry Potter series , but sometimes I felt like the writer took some little facts from Harry Potter books.

Emm...
The thing that I loved the most , in this book was the way the characters were included.My favourite characters were Percy , Laura's professor and Lucas ,Laura's brother.In many time I laughed hard with the jokes that Lucas told to others , because he was just funny that I think everyone would laugh with him. Percy was Laura's sport professor and he seemed to be french.I loved his accent , the way he talked with double "r" .

Laura was a thirteen old girl.She was set to find The Cup of Light and save the king of the light that was attacked from the sabers of the darkness.
But black forces try to stop her and she passes a lot of difficult situations .But in the end she saved the king so her duty like the main guard of light was finished and she continues living with her brother and her step-mother. Her father was seized from the sabers of the darkness and (like I pretend ) she saves him on the second part.

"Will she save her father?" " Will she protect Aventerra from the black forces?" -Those are the questions that are going to be responsed on the other parts.

I understand that this is a book for children, but that doesn’t excuse it from using some really cheap tricks to make the kids like it. Right of the bat, the room of the heroine is a bombardment of other famous fantasy titles. The author openly admitted he was inspired by them for writing this story, but as an adult reader this only managed to take me out of the experience. I was seeing the whole thing as self aware of how derivative it was.

Second issue is the very simplistic descriptions of the characters. It’s one thing not to bother describing a peasant who only spoke two lines in a single book, and a whole other to not say much about vital characters. I have no idea how does anyone look in the book, other than the color of his hair and clothes. Weapons can be either gold or black, the sky can be either blue or gray.

Third issue is the overly simplistic characterization of most characters. Yes, I get it, it’s for kids, but you can’t expect me to care when your main characters’ personality can only be “the curious teenage girl, the good knight, and the evil knight.” Same goes with the painfully straightforward plot of “heroine is the chosen one, destined to find the macguffin with the aid of a good knight, so the forces of good can triumph over the forces of evil.” You think there are any surprises? There aren’t, so what am I supposed to remember after reading this?

I clearly remember every title the author was inspired from (and mentions a lot), but the same can’t be said about Laura. It’s as simplistic as it gets and leaves you with no fond memories of it, other that loathing for having the audacity to think it can imitate the classics that easily.

Laura and the Secret of Aventerra is a book my mother bought for me 8 years ago when I got sick with the flu. It was the first book I read that was narrated from two different points of view and I remember I had loved it a lot. Very modern, enough dose of reality and magic blended into one, excellent writing style and much better than all the book series being published now. It never really received much attention because the translated copies of it weren't produced in great numbers, but I think everyone who has been lucky enough to have read it, must have liked it. I'm happy I found the copy of it I have today when cleaning up some god-forsaken bookshelves, because I had completely forgotten about it. Maybe one day I'll read it to my kids...

First of all I don't mind at all that the writer was inspired by Harry Potter especially since he admitts it. To be honest it is not even that similar. However the book is quite simplistic. I understand that it is supposed to be a kid's book and I would probably enjoy it more if I read it earlier in my life. I didn't like the bad equals black and good equals white, also I hated how fat-phobic this book is and the stereotypical aspects of most characters. The characters are flat and one dimensional but the story flows easily and keeps you interested.

Früher habe ich diese Reihe absolut geliebt und deswegen habe ich mich unglaublich darauf gefreut, sie mal wieder zu lesen. Ich habe sehr viel von der Geschichte vergessen und nur wenige Dinge kamen mir bekannt vor. Es ist eine total interessante Geschichte, die mega viele Details beinhaltet. Trotzdem fand ich, dass sich die Geschichte teilweise sehr gezogen hat. Ich bin gespannt, ob die anderen Teile mich wieder mehr überzeugen können. Für Jugendliche ist es aber definitiv eine lesenswerte Reihe!

Ich habe die Reihe als Kind gelesen, und musste sie nun einfach re-readen. Grob konnte ich mich auch noch an die Handlung erinnern, aber nicht komplett. Und ich liebe sie einfach genauso sehr wie früher ^_^

Die Laura-Reihe habe ich vor sehr langer Zeit geschenkt bekommen und verschlungen. Den letzten Band habe ich allerdings nie gelesen, sodass ein Reread der ersten sechs Bücher ansteht, weil ich mich nur noch an drei Dinge erinnern konnte: 1) Ich habe die Reihe abgöttisch geliebt, so sehr, dass ich auf der Website des Autors sogar einen Gästebuch-Eintrag hinterlassen habe, 2) Laura kann fechten und 3) die Handlung, die in der Parallelwelt Aventerra spielt, ist in roter Schriftfarbe gedruckt. Da das deutlich zu wenig war, um direkt den finalen Band zu lesen, habe ich mich richtig darauf gefreut, meine Erinnerungen aufzufrischen. Es hat sich auf jeden Fall gelohnt. Ich habe so viel zu sagen ...

Zunächst einmal fand ich viele Dinge einfach genial, die mich aus persönlichen Gründen sehr angesprochen haben. Beispielsweise wusste ich schon nach wenigen Seiten wieder, warum ich das Buch damals geliebt habe: Ich habe die Bücher als Dreizehnjährige gelesen und war damit genauso alt wie Laura. Beim Lesen ist mir wieder eingefallen, wie cool ich dieses Mädchen fand. Sie kann reiten, sie kann fechten, sie beherrscht Telekinese und viele weitere grandiose Dinge. Es war damals wirklich eine Erlösung, beim Lesen mein unglückliches, uncooles, dreizehnjähriges Streber-Ich vergessen und stattdessen Laura sein zu können. Auch heute finde ich ihre Fähigkeiten, reale wie fantastische, faszinierend und bin ein wenig neidisch.
Außerdem haben es die Pop Culture References damals auf den Punkt getroffen. Zumindest für mich. Diese Stimmung transportieren sie tatsächlich auch heute noch. In aktuelleren Büchern sind diese References häufig Musicals – Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen und Co. Da ich mich aber nicht wirklich für Musicals interessiere, geht die Stimmung häufig an mir vorbei: Ich kann mich eher weniger mit den Charakteren identizifieren, die Euphoriewelle der Figuren wirkt merkwürdig und ich kann nicht in die Geschichte eintauchen, weil ich die Zitate nicht kenne und nicht verstehe. Ganz anders war das damals und ist es auch heute noch bei Laura. Beispielsweise ist sie Fan von Harry Potter und vom Herrn der Ringe. Richtig mitgerissen hat es mich aber, als in Lauras Radio plötzlich „Daylight in your eyes“ von den No Angels lief. Das Lied habe ich damals geliebt und es lief rauf und runter. Es dann in einem Buch zu finden, in dem ich die Protagonistin ohnehin schon als coole Version meiner selbst angesehen habe, hat es noch ein Stück echter und realer gemacht. Ich muss zugeben, als ich das Buch jetzt, mit fast 25, erneut gelesen habe, habe ich mich stellenweise wieder gefühlt als wäre ich dreizehn. Herrlich.
Auch viele Charaktere fand ich unfassbar witzig, wieder aus persönlichen Gründen. Wenn eine Figur das erste Mal auftaucht, nennt Laura nicht nur den Namen, sondern gibt auch eine grobe Beschreibung der prägnantesten Eigenschaften dieser Figur. Beispielsweise isst ein Mädchen regelmäßig eine halbe Tafel Schokolade als Vorspeise vor dem Mittagessen, ein semmelblonder Junge marschiert alle zwei Wochen zum Friseur und ein anderer Junge hat eine Vorliebe dafür, die Klassenzimmer zu vergasen. Einige dieser Beschreibungen passen auf einige meiner Freunde wie die Faust aufs Auge. Es war richtig lustig, diese pointierten Beschreibungen zu lesen und sofort eine passende Person im Kopf zu haben. Es war fast als hätte jemand meine Freunde und mich in ein Fantasy-Buch geschrieben.

Unabhängig von den ganzen sehr persönlichen Gründen, aus denen ich das Buch genial fand, hat mich auch die Geschichte wieder überzeugen können. Alles wird langsam und ausführlich aufgebaut, denn der Autor nimmt sich viel Zeit für Beschreibungen und schildert zudem nicht nur Lauras Handlungsstrang, sondern gibt auch Einblicke in die Pläne ihrer Gegner sowie in die Ereignisse bei den lichten und den dunklen Kräften Aventerras. Es hat mir gefallen, die unterschiedlichen wichtigen Personen kennenzulernen, auch wenn Laura ihnen im Verlaufe dieses Buches zum Teil gar nicht begegnet. Außerdem haben die Sprünge zwischen Aventerra und der Menschenwelt deutliche Parallelen offenbart, die mich neugierig gemacht haben, weil ich mich nicht mehr an die Zusammenhänge erinnern konnte. Hin und wieder kam die Handlung durch das langsame Tempo fast gar nicht vom Fleck, meist war das Buch aber spannend. Am Ende hat mich die Geschichte sogar richtig überrascht, weil ich diese Entwicklung so nicht habe kommen sehen.
Darüber hinaus ist mir aufgefallen, wie die Schilderungen zwischen realitätsnah und realitätsfern schwankten. Gelungen fand ich beispielsweise, dass Laura keine Zeit hat, für die Schule zu lernen und entsprechend ihre Tests verhaut, weil sie die ganze Zeit damit beschäftigt ist, die Welt zu retten und ihre Fähigkeiten kontrollieren zu lernen. Das finde ich sehr realistisch. Außerdem verhalten sie, ihr Bruder und ihre Freundin sich meist altersangemessen. Das war zwar beizeiten etwas anstrengend, wie Zwölf- und Dreizehnjährige nun mal sein können, hat in Summe aber gut gepasst. Weniger getroffen fand ich dagegen die Erwachsenen. Insbesondere die Anhänger des Bösen wirkten zum Teil wie Bösewichte, die sich Dreizehnjährige ausgedacht haben. Sie haben einen höheren sozialen Status und daher gesellschaftlich mehr Macht, wirkten sonst aber eher wie Gleichaltrige. Ich denke, das hat auch damit zu tun, dass die Zielgruppe für dieses Buch deutlich jünger ist als ich. Damals ist mir nicht aufgefallen, dass es keine bösen Erwachsenen sind, sondern eher Repräsentationen der Vorstellungen, die Kinder von bösen Erwachsenen haben. Nichtsdestotrotz sind sie gefährliche Gegenspieler, auch wenn ihr Gruselfaktor mich nicht überzeugt hat.

Fazit
Auf diesen Reread habe ich mich sehr gefreut, weil ich mich an nichts erinnern konnte, und es hat sich gelohnt. Das Buch hat mir vor allem aus ganz persönlichen Gründen richtig gut gefallen: Laura war damals alles, was ich sein wollte, und ich finde sie heute noch genauso cool; für mich sind die Pop Culture References so on point, dass ich richtig mitgerissen wurde und mich wieder gefühlt habe als wäre ich dreizehn; die Beschreibung einiger Charaktere erinnert mich so an meine Freunde, dass ich das Gefühl hatte, meine Freunde und ich wären in ein Fantasy-Buch geschrieben worden. Dieses Buch ist wie für mich gemacht. Darüber hinaus fand ich die Handlung spannend, die Parallelwelt hat mich neugierig gemacht und das Ende hat mich überrascht. Außerdem fand ich die Darstellung der Kinder gelungen, wenngleich die Erwachsenen mir zu kindlich waren und mich daher nicht überzeugt haben. „Laura und das Geheimnis von Aventerra“ hat mir trotz kleiner Schwächen gut gefallen und sehr viel Nostalgie ausgelöst, wofür ich vier Schreibfedern vergebe.

Este libro es una extraña mezcla entre Harry Potter, Las Crónicas de Narnia, Memorias de Idhún y la Historia sin Fin... ¿Suena bien? PUES NO. Tiene partes entretenidas, no lo niego, pero es un cliché del porte de un buque, y ojo que como he dicho varias veces, no me molestan los cliché de por sí, si un libro tiene uno que otro o si a pesar de los cliché es ágil y entretenido, no me molesta, pero es que este era un libro de fantasía prototipo, sin nada nuevo, solo repite la fórmula. Además ¡Laura me cae horrible! es arrogante, presumida, quejumbrosa, es como agarrar el estereotipo de un pre adolescente y esa es Laura, no me gusta como trata a su amiga Kaja y no me gusta su manera de enfrentar el nuevo mundo que descubre.

Dieses Buch habe ich vor vielen Jahren gelesen, es wurde mir von einer damaligen Freundin ausgeliehen.
Das Cover hat mir sehr gut gefallen und gefällt mir auch heute noch, außerdem ist der Schreibstil flüssig und lässt sich angenehm lesen.
Die Geschichte wird in zwei Welten erzählt, diese kann man gut an der Schriftfarbe unterscheiden. Eine sehr gute Idee vom Autor.

Die Charaktere fand ich auch sehr liebenswürdig und sie müssen einige Abenteuer überstehen, besonders Lauras Welt wird auf den Kopf gestellt.

Im insgesamten bekommt das Buch 4 von 5 Sterne, ein vielversprechender Reihenauftakt mit einer Story die Groß und Klein begeistert.

GREATEST BOOK SERIES EVER
Okay,I might say that about all the book series I read, but this one really stayed with me. All that Laura wants is to find out what happened to her dad, but she never would have thought that it would get sooo complicated. Such a shame it's not available in English. I read it in Hungarian at first when i was 12, and then when i was 17. Forever loving all characters, and the medieval scenes are magical to me. Anyone who speaks German, or Hungarian, or any language that this series is available in, READ IT! :)

I remember liking this when I was younger. But reading it as an adult I had my problems. The characters were extremely flat and in my opinion the writer is not really good at 13-year-old girls. And this is also clearly written for much younger readers than me (probably around 12, maybe younger) so all the twists and intrigues were very obvious to me.

Avevo già letto 'Laura Leander e il segreto di Aventerra' molti anni fa (forse quindici), ma ricordavo ben poco oltre al fatto del mondo parallelo di Aventerra e del collegio misterioso in cui studia Laura. L’ho ripreso in mano perché essendo questo il primo volume di una saga ed avendo letto io solo i primi due, ma volendo concluderla, ho pensato che era meglio ricominciare dal principio per gustarlo in maniera completa.
La serie è scritta dal tedesco Peter Freund, non è stata tradotta in inglese, ma è arrivata in Italia grazie ad Edizioni Il Punto d’Incontro, casa editrice di Vicenza fondata da quattro amici (complimenti davvero per l’immenso sforzo economico profuso per la pubblicazione, perché il libro è di una bellezza sopraffina – parlo dell’oggetto – con copertina rigida, pagine spesse, alternanza di caratteri per le parti ambientate sulla Terra e quelle su Aventerra, un piccolo capolavoro).
Freund ha voluto localizzare temporalmente il romanzo in maniera ben precisa, utilizzando la sua passione per il cinema (è anche produttore cinematografico): nelle prime pagine, infatti, sottolinea la passione di Laura per la trilogia de 'Il signore degli Anelli' di Peter Jackson, di cui ha i poster in camera. E ha scritto una storia che forse tutti i ragazzi sognano di vivere: uscire dalla monotonia della scuola e afferrare la spada per difendere il Bene, dove i professori più fastidiosi sono ovviamente servi di Borboron mentre quelli più gentili e amabili sono alleati nella ricerca del Calice della Luce.
La differenza dal mondo scolastico inventato dalla Rowling è proprio qui: in Harry Potter si vive in un mondo magico, un mondo altro, in Laura Leander si vive in un collegio che potrebbe essere il proprio. E per quanto la magia è presente (statue che diventano animate, lettura del pensiero, il viaggio onirico, etc.) è l’umanità di Laura che colpisce, ed è con le qualità ‘umane’ che dovrà sconfiggere il Male.
Tra queste, la più importante è la fede. Non rinunciare mai. Credere sempre.
Un messaggio forte, importante, che può sembrare scontato ma che in questo mondo non lo è più.
In una società in cui i ragazzi sono bombardati da falsi miti e da messaggi dissonanti e distorcenti, la forza e il coraggio di Laura, capace di affrontare le proprie paure e la propria sfiducia, sono educativi e di grande impatto nelle menti in formazione.
Vi è poi il mondo di Aventerra, che assomiglia ad un fantasy vero e proprio, con re, cavalieri, guaritrici, giovani paladini, arpie minacciose e teneri animali (come lo svolappio), che richiama un po’ Tolkien, un po’ le favole medievali, un po’ il Nulla che avanza de 'La storia infinita', sempre di tedesca creazione. E che sicuramente sarà molto più presente nel proseguo della saga (il signor Leander è qui prigioniero e prima o poi Laura dovrà andare a salvarlo…).
Ho iniziato già il seguito ('Laura Leander e il sigillo delle sette lune') ed è già molto interessante…

Nota alla traduzione: bellissima. Parole inconsuete ma ben calibrate. Un vocabolario ricco e interessante.

Ein erstaunliches Abenteuer der Laura Leander! Das Buch "Laura und das Geheimnis von Aventerra" wurde von Peter Freund geschrieben und handelt von ein bald 13-jährigen Mädchen, dass entdeckt, dass ihr eine unglaubliche Aufgabe zu gedacht wurde. Sie soll den Kelch der Erleuchtung finden und dadurch die ganze Welt vor den Dunklen und dem ewigen Nichts retten...

Also ich verstehe zwar, dass dieses Buch ein Kinder- und Jugendbuch ist, allerding bin ich der Meinung, dass es zu unrealistisch geschrieben wurde. Natürlich ist das Motiv, von eine*r Schüler*in, die die Welt rettet, sehr beliebt. Trotzdem ist es nicht glaubwürdig, wenn einer unerfahrenen 13-jährigen innerhalb von wenigen Tagen das gelingt, was ausgebildeten Erwachsenen in drei Monaten nicht gelungen ist. Außerdem wirkte es so, als hätten die Erwachsenen nur auf Lauras Geburtstag gewartet und davor nichts unternommen, denn das Versteck des Kelches war ziemlich offensichtlich.

Was mich zu meinem nächsten Punkt führt. Die ganze Geschichte war sehr leicht zu durchschauen und die Ereignisse waren sehr vorhersehbar. Dies war erstmal nicht weiter schlimm, aber dadurch wurde keine große Spannung für mich aufgebaut. Dabei muss man allerdings beachten, dass dieses Buch eigentlich für Kinder gedacht ist und diese wahrscheinlich nicht so schnell hinter das Geheimnis gekommen wären.

Auch die Charaktere mögen für Kinder vielleicht sehr toll wirken, aber ich bin der Meinung, dass deren Persönlichkeiten nicht genug ausgearbeitet wurden. Vor allem dafür, dass dies der erste Teil einer Buchreihe ist, hat man viel zu wenig Einsicht in die Charaktere bekommen. Dabei wurden außerdem viele Klischees und Stereotypen bedient. Das ganze Buch und seine Charaktere wirken so, als wären sie von einem Erwachsenen geschrieben wurden, der so über Kinder geschrieben hat, wie er denkt, wie sie sich verhalten und was sie denken. Dies ist ja tatsächlich auch der Fall, aber ich finde es schade, dass man dies so merkt.

Trotz allem muss man Peter Freund lassen, dass er eine sehr schöne Welt kreiert hat. Auch wenn die Welt ebenfalls näher ausgeführt hätte sein können, hat man eine gute Vorstellung von dem schönen Aventerra und den neuen Gesetzen der Natur, die in dieser Welt gelten. Außerdem ist die Idee hinter der Geschichte sehr niedlich und definitiv für Kinder geeignet. Deshalb eignet sich das Buch auf jeden Fall eher für Kinder im Alter von 9 bis 13 Jahren. Da die Protagonistin Laura ebenfalls 13 Jahre alt ist, können sich die Kinder so besser in die Situation hinein versetzen und werden die Geschichte genießen.

Und denkt daran: "Nur wer aufgibt, hat schon verloren, und solange das Licht noch leuchtet, gibt es noch immer Hoffnung." - (S. 445)

I put 5 stars, because this is one of my favorite childhood books and the writing is beautiful with many adjectives. Although some may think this book is plagiarism from the "Harry Potter" series, I think, that this book has it's own storyline, amazing plot and interesting characters. *This review might contain spoilers*



Laura is a usual girl living a usual life. She isn't successful in math and she likes humanitarian classes (like biology or all sorts of languages). Her mother is dead and her father went missing a few years ago. Laura and her brother Luke are living with their step-mom Silvia (I think that's her name). One night before her thirteenth birthday, her father shows up in her dreams and tells her that she's born under "the thirteenth sign" and also is a part of some kind of guardians. Laura goes back to her boarding school and weird things start happening: a sculpture blinked to her and her mother smiled at her from her portrait. She thought, that she only imagined that, but at night, she meets up with the headmaster (he is sick) and two teachers and they tell her about guardians of Earth and Aventerra. That night she finds out, that she has a special mission, to save Earth and Aventerra from the forever nothing. She'll have to use her secret skills, telekinesis, mind reading and dream traveling to succeed. Her teachers and the headmaster will help her make those skills better. With the help of her best friend and her brother she believes she can find the cup and save both planets. Soon, she finds out, that there aren't only good guardians, but there are bad ones also. Ahead of them are her math and physics teacher and the deputy director, which takes directors place as soon as the real headmaster is sick. Will she be strong enough to save the world? Read this book and find out. :)

One of my favourite childhood books didn’t disappoint even now. The problem is I remembered the most of it so the experience wasn’t as pleasant as it was the first time. The following books are the ones I’m looking forward to.

So the main heroine Laura is a brave, special and loyal girl that has a lot on her shoulder for a thirteen year old. She must save the world from complete darkness and find the chalice of light. But she has a lot of enemies around her that are willing to do anything to stop her.
She is accompanied by her younger brother Lucas and her best friend Kaja. Both of them uniquely giving their own contribution in their pursuit.

In the parallel universe of Aventerra we follow a young prodigy Alaric and his sister apprentice Alienor. Fighting against the dark forces is no joke and the Guardian of light is wounded and deathly injured. Without the chalice of light there is no hope of survival for him and then the darkness will arise and eternal darkness will prevail.

Very easily written, quickly readable and very intense. A lot of twists and turns that make reader involved and surprised. Hopefully I will have an opportunity to share this with my children one day.

Sama pomysł całkiem fajny, ale język... Prawdę mówiąc czułam się jakbym czytała wypracowanie 6-klasisty.

Mamy tutaj Laurę Leander, która na co dzień śpi w szkole z internatem. W dniu 13 urodzin dowiaduje się o istnieniu równoległego świata - Aventerry, który jest połączony z Ziemią specjalną więzią. Istnieją tam dwa obozy - Światła i Ciemności, które cały czas ze sobą walczą. Jednak przywódca Światła zaczyna chorować w wyniku ran odniesionych w czasie ataku, a obydwu światom grozi zagłada. Powstaje pytanie: czy Laurze o jej przyjaciołom uda się ocalić Aventerrę oraz Ziemię?

Der Auftakt zu einer klassischen Fantasygeschichte mit zwei Welten, dem Kampf zwischen gut und böse und der Protagonistin Laura auf ihrer Mission.. habe dieses Buch als Jugendliche gelesen und fand es sehr spannend. Es enthält viele typische jugendbuchelemente wie Internatsstory, den Höhen und Tiefen im Leben eines Teenagers, die Suche nach den wichtigen Dingen/Themen im Leben und eine spannende fantasywelt.. klare Empfehlung für alle denen diese typischen Elemente gefallen, für Leute die etwas neues im fantastischen Genre suchen nicht so sehr geeignet deswegen ein Stern abzug

Erster Teil meiner Lieblings-Jugend-Fantasy-Serie!
Ich habe diese Bücher in der Unter-/Mittelstufe gelesen und für mich war es mein Harry Potter, der Einstieg in ein magische Welt in die man unbedingt auch in Wirklichkeit eintauchen will.

Ich besitze tatsächlich alle 7 Teile als Hardcover, die Cover sind auch super schön und ich werde die Bücher wenn es so weit kommt an meine Kinder vererben 😂

This was a very cute reread from my childhood. I need to remove halfe a point, because the adults are sometimes very stupid for plot reasons and sometimes the conversation between the children feel strange. They sometimes use very swollen words child would never use, just to make the book sound epic. But it is a cool middlegrade story with a fun plot, I will continue to reread the series.

Vroeger vond ik deze serie echt helemaal fantastisch. Ook nu las deel 1 nog steeds lekker weg, ik verveelde me geen moment. Maar het viel me op dat de personages wat oppervlakkig zijn (iedereen is 100% goed of juist slecht) en ze waren wel érg vaak traag van begrip.

Odlična knjiga! Jedino mi se nije svidjelo što je knjiga bila tipična: "svijetlo je dobro, tama je loša, a glavni lik je na strani dobrih". Bilo je prilično predvidio, i pomalo naporno/dosadno kad se junakinja ponašala kao malo dijete.
