A touching, true story of one woman’s journey to suppress her mediumship and psychic abilities so to conform to her upbringing and the world. As a child Jane would fear the dark and would clearly see spirits and the afterlife. She learnt, to the best of her ability, how to suppress her gifts until she met a healer, who unbeknown to her was about to open up a Pandora's box and life would never be the same again. A terrifying and horrific time, where spirits were contacting Jane, day and night, eager to communicate through her. Petrified by the intensity of the spirit world, Jane had to seek help and learn quickly how to control her heightened gifts and was led to Eddie, literally her earth angel, who treated her with tough love, guidance and told her to pull herself together. A fascinating read of events that will make you shudder with goose bumps, giggle, laugh aloud and reduce you, at times, to tears. Jane in time would learn through determination, healing and acceptance to truly embrace her true self. An interesting incite into a mediums world, where two worlds become one. A must read!
I never imagined that I would summarise a book with those words - me, a curmudgeonly old sceptic. A young girl sees spirits and things she cannot explain but receives no help from her family. She is a part of a strict Roman Catholic upbringing and anything to do with spiritualism is regarded as the work of the devil. She joins the RAF as a physical training instructor, gets married and produces children. However, her spiritual awakening continues to grow, she seeks advice and is told she has the potential to become a talented medium. What follows is a fascinating journey as she gradually embraces her talents as a medium and spiritual healer. This is not my usual read and I would have liked a more clinical analysis of the events described but, overall, I found the story both uplifting and heartwarming
Thank you Jane for sharing your experiences and writing about your journey. It's the first time I've read a spiritual book which makes your heart and sole feel hugged. Reading this book makes me realise if the horrible people (that's me putting it nicely) hadn't tried to push me off my career, and they did try so hard for 3 horrible years, I would never have returned to listening to spirit to ask for help and guidance, who directed me to discovering crystals to help me heal. I really enjoyed reading this book so much and I have to admit it's been one of the best I've read by far
Jane's first memoir is fascinating, down-to-earth, and honest. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in the afterlife and psychic mediums, as well as the memoir genre in general. I eagerly await her 3rd memoir, as I read her first two books in this series in record time. It's a wonderful read!
As a reluctant medium myself in the early days , I found this book refreshing and a very honest account of the struggles of the life of someone born a medium in a non psychic aware family
A really enjoyable read of personal experience of realising and coping with mediumship. She is very funny and surprising in places but also honest and heartfelt. A short read but very pleasant
