Intro discusses in very detailed chapters everything you would ever need to know about this new lifestyle and how to achieve it yourself. Benefits of the diet plan and what to avoid are just a very small portion of this book. It's not only a diet plan but tells you how to live your life: more water, better sleep, etc. My interest in this book are the recipes but do be sure to read through intro chapters. Each recipe starts with a title and servings. Some nutritional info per servings: calories, fat, carbs, fiber, protein. List of ingredients and you should be able to substitute for your healthier dietary needs: low fat, low sodium, low sugar and fresh vs canned items. I'd be using fresh stock and fresh vegetables myself rather than packaged items NOR canned items. Directions are given. There are NO pictures. Meal plans are included. This book has a ton of Information about the Mediterranean diet above and beyond recipes. It talks about what foods to eat, and what to avoid, health benefits, and spices that work. The recipes are also a wonderful way to start the diet and continue to eat in a more healthy manner.
