I read a few books of this author before this one, and I didn't like any of those stories. It was really surprising for me, because the author had very good reviews by other readers. It didn't make any sense to me. Though I stopped checking another book of this author, and stayed away for a very long time.
Recently I read this book for the purpose of making one more attempt at checking this author. Once again I'm surprised, but for an opposite reason. This book is impressively good. This could even be a masterpiece of Femdom Erotica if some scenes were properly created, rather than told just by narrations. It is fun reading overall. I will highly recommend this book to all the Femdom erotica readers.

The story begins as James is describing his experiences that happened during a period of several months after his parents were both killed in a car accident that he survived. He is telling this story to a woman.
James is put up for an adoption by Helen Striker, a divorcée with three children, Lara, Dahlia and Kayla, all three out of high school. Helen’s “default facial expression” was “icy disdain.” Why a woman with a grudge against men would welcome James is something this reader cannot understand.
This is explained by the dwelling space they set up for him with no privacy or doors he could shut and the status they adopt for him, as their pool boy house cleaner and gardener. With Lara living on her own, away at college, most interactions are with Helen, Dahlia and Kayla, who seems to take a special interest in him. While he is maintaining the pool one day, Kayla and Dahlia, who are sunning themselves, call him over and ask which of their bikinis is best, forcing him to look at them. Subsequently, Kayla follows him into his dwelling space to observe him taking a shower so that she can catch him masturbating.
Helen beats him with a razor stop in front of Dahlia and Kayla and orders him to apologize to Kayla. This seems to be a pattern, as Kayla does what she can to be present at many of his punishments and enjoys examining him when he has his pants down afterwards (while he is thinking about the lesson he just learned). Helen does not physically punish her daughters and humiliation becomes a central focus of her punishments of James. Most of these humiliating punishments seem to be centered around Kayla and, conversely, James begins to have feelings for her that go beyond just a physical attraction.
Across the street, Mrs. Deborah Holden takes an interest in him and cutting her grass becomes part of his routine. When Helen dresses him in panties, Mrs. Holden takes it a step further, by dressing him in something even smaller.
When Lara comes home to visit, she confirms that Kayla likes James and tests his skills.
As time moves forward, there are more episodes with the neighbor and the three sisters until James is off to college. But he is haunted…

Start Slow, Finish Well
When I started reading it I wasn’t sure I would finish it. It seemed slow and the punishment and humiliation seemed too extreme, without depth to the characters. But once it got moving, around the time of the involvement by the neighbor, I think it took off and I had to get to the end and see what happens.

Nature or Nurture?
Ava raises in my mind the question of humility being intrinsic or learnt? That her characters developed such adoration of each other while being subjugated I adore so much that the more humiliation endured the more I wish to enjoy been owned, more please….

Too slow I honestly just couldn't get through it. The story is told in the past but honestly it should have stayed there!

This could have been just a classic fantasy of a man being forced to live with a family of women (mother and two sisters), and subjected to punishment, humiliation, teasing, some CFNM. However, it is much better: the characters are, if not realistic, extremely charming, and the way in which the story is told also makes it stand out. For those who are into manga, this reminded me *a little bit* of "Don't Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro" (with more spanking and caning). One of the characters, in particular.

If gratuitous beatings are your cup of tea, you will find it here in abundance. An interesting twist at the end saved this short read for me.
