There was only one place she left for her to run…straight into the arms of a monster.
The beta world is changing. Fears over rogue alpha attacks have peaked, and so has the public's suspicion of anyone that has a connection to the Boundarylands. So when Maggie Harrington refuses to publicly disavow her alpha brother, she isn't just disowned by her wealthy parents and cast out of her community—she's also threatened by mysterious government agents who demand her compliance…or else.
As hellish as his years of imprisonment were, Axel is finding it hard to adapt to life outside his solitary cell. In the escape, he may have found freedom, but peace still eludes him. At least until a woman fleeing the same people that locked him away trespasses onto his property. She may have come from the outside world, but Axel can tell at first glance she's no beta.
She's an omega…and that makes her his.
Once there were boundaries…but now that their chains are broken, these alphas refused to be contained.
Axel is the sixth book in The Unchained Omegaverse, a hot new ABO romance series featuring knotting, heats, and possession. Wear gloves, cause this sh*t is hot.
Ever since she was little, Callie Rhodes' imagination has been landing her in trouble. From daydreaming about far off worlds in class, to escaping into the made up stories of her mind in the meeting room, she's been creating tales to take her away from the real world for as long as she can remember. Now she lives among the tall trees of Northern California, and has found a way to make a living off her fantasies.
Maggie is a letdown, so is Boundarylands lack of diversity
Its been a while since I've disliked a female MC in the Boundarylands series as much as I disliked Maggie. She comes across as immature, reckless, chaotic, cheap, oversexed, nympho. Seriously, something about her...that is extremely unlikeable. If that comes off as "sl*t-shaming", so be it, b/c "sl*t-shaming" is a myopic 3rd wave feminist term that has been heavily disputed anyway. Why? B/c truly only applies to ONE group of women, not ALL groups of women (ie google it). I don't believe in it & I think it's dumb. Not only do I dislike Maggie, I'd still love to see some racial & ethnic diversity amongst the Boundarylands characters - ESPECIALLY the female MCs.
I have always felt somewhat leery of bdsm, but once I read "Peak BDSM", a forum created by females who participated in BDSM speaking out about all the abusive, narcissistic "dominant" men they've met engaged in consistent sexual pressuring, rape, & manipulation of women in "kink communities", I knew that my initial reservations & repugnance about it was right. Many of these women describe themselves & many other "submissive" females in BDSM as having histories of child molestation, rape, & mental illness that make them easy targets for predatory "dominant" narcissistic men. Sadism is literally considered a paraphilia. Its weird how idealized & sanitized the extreme & violent sexual acts of BDSM have become in such a short period, especially since "50 Shades of Grey." At least ppl used to be realistic about the amount of violence & pathological ppl that BDSM & other "kink communities" tended to attract. I also don't think Axel is "sexually repressed" or wrong for being conflicted about his particular kind of sexual thoughts & behaviors. They didn't just come out of a cultural & social vacuum. If you have sexual fantasies of sadism, domination, & control over women during intercourse as a man, you SHOULD examine where those thoughts come from.

Axel de Callie Rhodes Serie The Unchained Omegaverse libro 6
Argumento:
No me pareció sexy toda esa primera escena.
Enjoyed the universe development but this needs edits
The concept of Axel's & Maggie's relationship is solid. I enjoyed the psychological aspects that were explored. That being said this book felt rushed like they needed to reach a minimal word count & cut out sections of the story to make it happen. In comparison to other books in the series, Axel & Maggie felt more like fluff to move forward the universe rather than exploring a new couple.
I removed 2 stars because of the need for heavy editing. Xander was used in place of Axel multiple times which makes for an icky read. There were sentence errors throughout where sentences were changed or reformatted without removing the first version. There are also random words that don't belong. The acknowledgments at the end of the book thank readers for reading Wyatt vs Axel.
Overall this feels like a first draft rather than a finished copy.
For each new book Callie Rhodes publish the more I am sure she doesn't give a damn about quality, just pumping out a new book for easy money. The amount of errors, and blatant mistakes, wrong names used, wrong words, wrong sentences. It's obnoxious.
🔥 “Oh, trust me, little brat, I can think of plenty of ways to remind you of your place that have nothing to do with pain.” ~~~ Maggie is one sassy woman and trouble always seems to find her. And then chaos follows. I loved that she was not afraid to speak her mind no matter the consequences. She’s so mouthy, pushy and bratty and I really liked her.
And Axel is her absolute opposite. He craves order, routine and control. In addition, he’s so strong, protective and honorable. And he has quite the delicious darker side. I loved that bossy alpha so much!
I loved the development of their relationship. Unlike the other Omegas, Maggie accepted her transition with an open mind. And Axel was the reluctant one. And there was so much tension between them. But I loved how well they fit together. And I really enjoyed the D/s dynamics. They were a fantastic match and then they finally gave into their feelings, the passion they shared was off the charts hot.
Overall, the story is another wonderful addition to the series. It’s filled with danger, fast-paced action, twists, drama, steamy romance and awesome characters.
I really enjoyed it and cannot wait to see what happens next!
The majority of the guys are brunette but all the girls are blondes or redheads. The two or three brunettes are either old, scarred or hideous. In this case, she is a blonde that dyes her hair brown to go for the punk look. I guess the requirement to be an omega is to be blonde. If Callie Rhodes is a colorist with people of the European decent, then what do you leave for people of the other races. Like for real, I bet that if these couples had kids in the Callie Rhodes' universe, all the sons would come out brunette and all the daughters would come out blonde; it doesn't make sense.
When Maggie refuses to publicly disavow her alpha brother, she fears the government will hurt her. She runs and is found by Axel who knows that she belongs to him. He struggles with the kinky things he likes during sex and thinks that there is something wrong with him and he is afraid that Maggie won't want to be with him because of it. Maggie does a good job of helping him understand that consenting adults can enjoy lots of fun things in the bedroom and that it's normal. I liked this one more than the last, I think the relationship between Maggie and Axel developed very nicely.
Maggie and Axel’s story was simply exhilarating. Maggie was fiery and courageous and Axel was the strong silent type but with a little more spice. I love how this series keeps unraveling and getting better and better, I can’t wait to find out what happens to her friend Gabby (hopefully that comes back up). I also want to see how the Alpha’s and Omega’s will find their HEA in this hateful world.
The author is maybe cranking these out too fast. Multiple times the lead male’s name was mistaken with another male from a different story. There were times when the author rephrased a sentence but the original wording wasn’t fully removed. The lack of editing and continuity really threw me out of the story itself.
In the book it got the names Xander and axel mixed up a few times. Which made it awkward when she was filling around with axel and the name stated xander instead who is her brother 🤦🏼♀️ And the end of the book said thanks for reading Wyatt when I had just finished reading axel
Okay this is not my favorite book in this series at times it was even a little boring. It was like Axel was constantly second guessing himself. Because he was taken at seventeen he thought there was something wrong with the way he viewed sex. Maggie had to show him that everyone is different and like different things.
I sincerely Love this series, it's so much more than just a story 😃. It shows that it doesn't matter Who you are, there's always someone who feels you should be something else that THEY approve of, instead of who you are 🤔. Thanks again Callie, I can't wait for the next story 🤓.
Hero is gross. This author insults her readers intelligence by copy and paste scenes from a previous book Xander to pass off in this book Axel. It’s lazy and an insult. At least have the decency to then use find and replace. Stories are cookie cutter.
My first DNF from Callie Rhodes. This book was less omegaverse and more .... kink exploration. ‘I’m so horrible for blah blah blah’ the heroine wasn’t likeable and their connection wasn’t believable and the world building/connecting was negligible. Hopefully the next book gets back on track
I normally love all of the individual stories of the the alphas the the Boundrylands. I enjoy getting lost in the world that Callie Rhodes has created. The story of Axel and Maggie however, is just very…blah. It was not bad, but it wasn’t good.
A kinky guy not knowing it is ok. It takes Maggie to make him realize That everyone is different A normal is what you make of it. This couple is suited for each other perfectly.
I loved Maggie’s character. She so positive and fun, but also quickly understanding and compassionate. And poor Axel, thinking he’s deviant. I’m glad she’s so patient with him.
I was looking forward to this book. Unfortunately by the end Maggie and Axel annoyed me. Their personalities were a let down for me. I really liked the idea of exploring kink etc, but it took away the whole story of Omega/Alpha.
Since reading this series and Boundryland series from Rhodes, I always wanted to see a willing omega..... and now we get it! Unfortunately the kink in this one wasn't my jam. But she made it make sense in the story. So maybe I still hold out hope for the unicorn.
3.5 stars. They can't all be perfect. While I loved the incorporation of *another* kink (assuming the whole Omegaverse is one), this missed the mark for me story wise. So so much inner monologue I ended up skipping a ton. The inner conflict was interesting and the take on the discipline/degregation kink I liked, but the story just didn't have a ton of plot otherwise and needed a good edit.
