Even when I’m not chasing kidnappers, I don’t keep normal hours. I’m a journalist; late nights, burnt coffee, and energy potions come with the territory. When I get lost in a story or deep in pre-publication crunch time, I can’t quit just because the sun’s been down for eight hours.

So when my best friend called me well after midnight to say she was being followed, I was already halfway out the door before the call could be hexed.

I wasn’t fast enough. By the time I arrived she was gone; vanished from within an impenetrable magical ward.

Now I’m running out of time to discover who took her and why. There’s no time for sleep: The clock is ticking, my leads are thin, and the few confidants I’ve got aren’t playing straight with me. The monsters and thugs scurrying around the city won’t make clue gathering any easier.

At the start, I was afraid that if I didn’t find her fast, she’d wind up dead. Now I know that if I don’t get her back in time, her death will just be the start.

Good read but too short. Didn't give enough details and let the plot matured...

I just finished this book, and I had forgotten just how much I loved this series. Levi is a great character, and since I teach adults with disabilities, I just love that he shows just how capable people with them can be (he has autism) and still lead a normal life. Add in the interesting side characters, and this book is such a good time. I loved how, at the beginning of the book, we see two timelines which made sense before the end. I also didn’t figure out who the villain(s) were and was blown away when we found out. I love this series, even more than the author’s other series, and I can’t wait to read more! Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

MN Jolley has continued his KC Wizard Weekly series with a great second novel in the series. Continuing the tale from book 1, mysteries still abound, and Levi and his friends are still in danger.

Although Levi puts out a great paper, his skills as a wizard are seriously lacking. However, even though he fails at wizardry, he's a wiz at making lifelong friends and reaching people, so someone will always be there to help! That's a great skill for someone with autism.

If you enjoy a story with a complex plot, interesting (if damaged) characters, a character trying to navigate social situations without many built in tools, and found family tropes, you'll love this story!

I received a copy of this book from the author.

This book is even better than the first one.

This is the continuing story of Levi, an autistic journalist who runs his own newspaper for the magical community.

He is not licensed or trained to do magic but he has a few magical friends – so few you could count them on one hand.

This author writes a well crafted story that had me desperate to find out what happens next. I didn’t see the end working out the way that it did.

It’s one of those books that you want to finish but when you do you wish that you hadn’t as you want to keep on reading.

I’m looking forward to reading book 3.

This was a fun followup to Accused - I enjoyed being back with Levi, Ben and the gang as they try to solve another mystery - who kidnapped their friend Lydia and why.

As with Book 1 of the KC Warlock Weekly series, I loved the diversity in this book. And while it's a short read (only 200-and-something pages), it manages to fit a fair amount of plot in there.

And I'm delighted to discover that at some point between when I picked this one up and when I read it, Maggie's book has come out, so I'm looking forward to diving into that one sometime soon.

This is a great continuation to the series and I am already hoping for more books. I still really like the main character, Levi. I like the way he thinks and puts things together, solving mysteries by piecing together all the evidence.

Whatever made book 1 a 5 star read for me, this book lacked. I don't know what that is but I was mostly bored during this. I considered DNFing twice before finally giving up at 40%

“We weren’t exactly friends. Maybe because I’d broken into her office, maybe because I’d accused her of murder, maybe because I knew about her deception with the potions she sold. Probably all three.”

1.) Accused ⭐⭐⭐⭐

IMPRESSIONS
It’s a new KC Warlock Weekly Story!! The first book was so much fun and this was even better! Levi is still running his paper and trying to uncover who was behind the conspiracy of the previous book. He’s definitely made some enemies and even the people he encountered the last time aren’t 100% thrilled with him. When one of his friends goes missing, Levi will have to do anything in his power to save her!

Plot-wise this was more solid than the last book and left me on the edge of my seat. We have a better understanding of what’s going on and once again there is a high-stakes adventure, this time to figure out who the kidnapper was. I wish we’d seen more of Ben, Levi’s boyfriend, because he’s so sweet and both of them are great together! We do find out that Ben’s getting his license in magic and already practicing his spells, which definitely comes in handy. It was just great to see Ben understanding what Levi needs.
