.⋆。⋆☂˚。 dnf at chapter-76; read 2 march 2025-4 march 2025 ⋆。˚☽˚。. The ML is literally a trope. But I still like him. The FL is also a trope. I don't like her that much, as I hate the naïve types. The world is great. the story is well thought out but predictable. I think I can predict most of the plot points now. Idk if it's worth reading any further. The villainess is a very basic white lotus and the ML's been manipulated, so very predictable. Predictable but not bad in any way I guess. When I was reading it, it kept my attention and it passed the time, but now that I look back at it, it seems so damn boring uggghh.
The only think that could pull me back would be the ML turning hardcore yandere. Other than that it's pretty tame.

The comic version pushes the source material by amping the tsundere nature of our male lead and distracts with contrasting colors within the art. However, underneath it all our female protagonist is a bit too clueless for this to be a comforting read. She is obsessed with the OG timeline from the novel despite all the vivid evidence it was wrong and the interference of her changes to events. Nitpicking butterfly familiars, ghosts trapped in creepy dolls, and eclectic villain side kicks are entertaining. The underlying story of power corruption, manipulation, child abuse, and manufactured war are contrastingly grim. (2.5 stars)
