exceptional read wisdom in listening to our bodies

The author helped me discover imbalances through quick questions . She offers key takeaways @ each step of the way from every chapter. Easily relatable stories of clients who followed this program made understanding our lack of sleep and effects on weight as well as perceptions to making gradual changes by truly honoring our bodies noting our environments contributing factors and allowing for a more positive sustainable weight loss path forward was super helpful ! I like the recipe for apple chia seed muffins with no added sugars. I’m so much more consciously aware after reading this ebook as well as paperback copy I ordered to reference which is now full of hi-lighted and ear marked pages, of just how critical label reading , paying attention to what, when and where we eat are and how to properly tailor imbalances specific to myself for healthy weight loss truly are! Thanks for this gem of a book I will reference regularly from my bookshelf and have recommended to several other friends and family! I have no guilt taking my extra hour of sleep now too from validations of it’s importance on overall well-being! Thanks for contributing to my best self less stressed healthier way of life! I found the chapter explaining excess sugars super helpful to understanding more of the ties to my daughters migraines as relatable to her diet as well! Thanks for writing and sharing the knowledge and wisdom in gratitude an enlightened reader!

Excellent book!

“Tailor to the imbalances in YOUR body” from the book is one of the things that really stood out to me. This book does an excellent job of not only recognizing we are unique but offering practical solutions for effective weight loss no matter who you are.
I loved the stories of the different individuals in the book as well as the questions at the end of each chapter which challenged me to consider my own eating habits.
This book is very well written and easy to understand.
I highly recommend this book for anyone struggling to lose weight or trying to eat healthy.

Well-written Comprehensive Guide for Nutritional Guidance

As an holistic nutritionist, I am very impressed with the author's summary on such a variety of nutritional subjects. The book is well organized with chapter summaries, diagrams, and questionnaires. Just this week I was trying to convince one of my clients that high stress levels can increase weight around the belly. He didn't take me seriously. I will share Dawn Cuckow's explanation in The Body Effect to show him I'm not crazy! This is a great book for someone looking for a comprehensive guide to implementing natural strategies for better health. Well done!

Fantastic book packed with insight that will empower you take control of your body

I have read many books in this field out of personal interest and for health reasons and this is one of the best. It is well written and well structured with a balance of data and science backed information as well as personal stories and examples. I love that the author recommends the use of spices as a way to regulate the inner workings of the body as this is something we have been raised with in my family and the health effects are potent. The summaries at the end of each chapter are clear and help assimilate the learnings within. It’s a very interesting, readable book and a good reference title to keep for years to come to help you keep on track of your health and body weight.

Excellent Book

All I can say is WOW! I am one that has tried losing weight and failed several times. After reading this book, now I know it’s because I never really understood my own body. I love how this author breaks down everything about your body to explain the what’s, why’s, and how’s. Thank you Dawn Cuckow for this amazing book. I love how detailed it is and how it answers all of my important questions. You really had the health of people in mind when you wrote this book.

Insightful, excellent book for the do’s and don’ts of weight loss

I learned so much from this book! As someone who was recently slammed into menopause and am now adjusting to the bodily changes, the book helped me to understand the dramatic changes going on in my body. The author does a great job breaking down the different food groups and how they hormonally affect the body. She offers practical suggestions and alternatives to eat in a healthy, balanced manner. If you’re struggling to lose weight, read this book!

What an invaluable tool

Incredible book to keep on hand whether you’re trying to lose weight or just be healthier. I do not struggle with weight but am very conscious of my diet, body health for my own health reasons. I found this book so useful. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to educate and enlighten themselves about their body and their health. And I already have! I was so impressed, I was sending highlights to friends. This is the kind of reference book you’ll refer to again and again.

This was a quick read with pretty basic but understandable information. I did learn a few new things throughout though and it is a good roadmap on what to do to start feeling better and losing weight. One of the new things I learned that stood out to me was that when you eat high fiber, you poop out more calories, so you are absorbing less of the calories you eat. Though I did know most of the information in this book already, I can see it being helpful and easy to implement and understand by someone who hasn’t already researched and read about health and weight loss.

Great book for women

This book does a great job at detailing what can trigger weight gain and how to consciously become aware of it. The author takes a lot of scientific jargon and makes it understandable. This is a well written book and you can tell the author knows her stuff. The stories of her clients and what they went through throughout the book were also interesting. Overall, a great book in helping you understand how to get your body back in balance

I love the author's clear and detailed exposition on how imbalances in our diet exacerbate weight gain. I'm looking forward to implementing some of the suggestions. I've been researching health and the metabolism for a while, and everything in this book is logical and supports what I already learned elsewhere. The structure of the book is also very good to be able to use it for reference to quickly check for imbalances or improvement as one progresses and implements changes.

Awesome Guide for a Balanced Body

So much good info packed into this book! I really appreciate how the author addresses the many different ways our bodies and weight can get off balance, along with simple & practical solutions you can put into practice right away. The chart in the back of the book is really helpful as well. If you’re struggling with weight, get this book now!

Clear and straighforward

This was really clear, easy to understand, and informative. Every section has key takeaways at the end which are really helpful, and there is so much information here. I found it really interesting and highly recommend it to anyone looking for more information on how to take the upper hand in their relationship with food.

This book was transformational for me. Having read the book and created my profile I joined Dawn's zoom workshop for further insight. And insightful was. Literally on the back of that workshop I have completely changed my relationship with food, but also with myself. I realised I was creating my behavioural issues including food cravings and only I could change these.
In a few short months I have lost 16 kilo (all my belly day included), completely removed all dependencies and my palette is reformed to enjoy a substantial diet*of healthy food. I make smoothies with both fruit and vegetables as well as high protein, high fibre and good fats. I now have energy, enthusiasm and a clean and tidy kitchen (and that is relevant), purely because of my lifestyle change.
Dawn has a scientific approach, she has deeply researched her work, and has a vast amount of scientific evidence to support it. She is also friendly, approachable and genuinely wants to help people resolve harmful habits. I applaud and thank her and encourage everyone to read this book.
