Whether it’s a gun pointed at him or a firestorm in the bedroom my retired special forces neighbor is equipped for the job.
Years ago trouble found me. Witness protection saved me. But three moves later here I am tucked away in a new small town.
The weather turned cold and the snow started to fly. I even bought a tree and made cookies.
Then my fake world started to unravel. Only this time when trouble showed up it came with an unexpected hero. The kind of man that makes all reason disappear out the window.
My mysterious next door neighbor came equipped for anything. Including melting me like butter. A special forces vet turned fireman. The man can handle the heat.
Finding safety with him is easy. Finding pleasure with him is guaranteed. Finding home might be too.
Stella's Christmas Rescue is a steamy, heart-string romance with a strong sexy military hero, a strong smart woman with a dangerous past, and a happy ever after that you'll love.

I love deep characters who overcome pain, mistrust, and damaged pasts to find their way alongside the mate of their dreams.
The men and women in my books have flaws, heart, fears and passion, just like we do—layers that make them slip into your heart.
All of my books are first person and include two Point of View. I mainly write MF contemporary romance, but have written MFM menage. It was super fun to write with three POVs.

Another excellent book by Jenna Gunn! The story is told from Stella and Jordan’s points of view and includes plenty of heat, drama, suspense and romance. I enjoyed all the side characters and the life they brought into the story. Written so well it keeps the readers attention, as I had trouble putting the book down.
Stella’s Christmas Rescue is a stand-alone book by the author of the Agile Rescue series, Jenna Gunn. In this book, we get to meet Jordan, a Special Forces veteran/ firefighter, and Stella who is on the run from her criminal ex-boyfriend/business partner.
Jordan and Stella meet when Jordan sees an unknown car in front of his neighbor’s house while looking for his dog. Deciding to check it out, he finds Stella, the new occupant of the house. Stella is there as part of the Witness Protection Program and had been in the program for three years. The two hit it off straight away and, together, go in search of their respective dogs, Max and Sugar. That same night, Stella invites Jordan for dinner, and they end up sleeping together. The two have a few challenges to get out of the way, though: kidnapping attempts, getting their heads around the developing feelings between them and staying alive long enough to get to their HEA.
In addition to Jordan and Stella, Wes – Stella’s handler and a friend of Jordan’s – plays a key role in keeping Stella safe. We also meet Katie, a waitress Jordan was flirting with before he met Stella, and Michael, Jordan’s boss and friend. There is also Mrs. Black, a neighbor who lends humor and wisdom to the story. Finally, there are the bad guys: Stella’s criminal ex-boyfriend and his lackeys.
I suspect that this book was one of the author’s earlier writings because the writing wasn’t as polished as her other books. Sentence construction was an issue while some sentences seemed out of place; they were just plonked in the middle of a paragraph, confusing the hell out of this reader. At the start of the story, the dialogue between Jordan and Stella was childish and made them appear immature. The most glaring issue for me was the incorrect use of the dash and em dash – the last one threw me out of the story a few times. The action scenes were short, and conflict was too easily and quickly resolved.
The relationship between Jordan and Stella was low-key with no angst. On the same day, they met, had dinner, spent the night together and stayed together for the remainder of the story. This happened in quick succession, and I’m not sure if the author was trying to work a one-night stand trope into the story but then abandoned the idea? Same as with the action scenes and conflict, the first love scene was over in record-time. It had a cold, calculating vibe, as if the author was following a template. Foreplay was kept to a bare minimum, and it was over in a flash, but according to our MMC and FMC, it was the best they ever had …
Although not your typical spineless FMC, I found Stella’s character irrational on a few occasions – I had no empathy for her situation. While being in witness protection, she put her own life in danger repeatedly with her insistence on staying in contact with her family; then she blamed the agency for not doing enough to protect her. Jordan’s character was okay but not fleshed out enough.
It was, however, not all doom and gloom. The storytelling and characterization improved as the story unfolded. I liked that some scenes showed the connection developing between Jordan and Stella; they also started acting and talking like the adults they were. Plus, the spicy scenes got hotter as they got closer, which is always a good thing in my book😊
Overall, this was a light, quick and fun read, just not well rounded.
A surprise Christmas book from one of my favorite authors?!?!? YES PLEASE!!!
I loved everything about this book!! It’s storyline is so different from what Jenna has written before and she did it so well!!
Stella is a bold, strong willed, younger woman who arrives in town with her dog, Sugar, hoping to hide from her past. Jordan is the older, handsome, alpha living his life in solitude on his farm after retiring from the marines with his dog Max. When he meets Stella his whole world changes more than he ever imagined as not only is she strikingly beautiful, she also appears to have a dangerous secret. The chemistry between these two is beautiful as two people who view being alone as almost a normalcy or requirement in life. I enjoyed the development of the relationship and watching each of them figure out where the other stands or could stand in their life.
Jenna’s use of animals in her books are always one of my favorite aspects and with no surprise she does an incredible job here. Max and Sugar will absolutely melt your heart and stand out with such bold personalities as strong characters themselves.
Such a fantastic, unique, action packed, romance from start to finish!
This was another wonderful story by Jenna Gunn. I love her stories and the characters she creates for me to enjoy. This was a delightful story set around Christmas time that's about Jordan an ex-Marine who's looking for his wayward black and tan hunting dog Max. He goes to his next-door neighbor and knocks on the door expecting to see Mr. Hanson. Jordan is meet by Stella who first tries to shut the door on him until he tells her about his dog. Stella also has a dog she calls Sugar a golden lab. They decide to look for them together. What occurs is an enjoyable story with engaging characters. The instant attraction, the drama, the romance, and the action kept me turning the pages in this copy I'd received and volunteer to read and review.
I am so glad I found Jenna Gunn! To be truthful, I can't stand the type of woman she wrote in Stella, BUT I was totally captivated by her plot and her characters. Including Stella. I like the town, the incidental people, the brotherhood among the ex-servicemen, and (spoiler?) the Witness Protection case manager who was stuck with Stella. Mrs. Black is a whole storybook in herself! There has to be a story behind Michael, the fireman with a Russian accent. And of course, there is the HEA. I'll definitely be looking up Jenna Gunn's book list!
I love a good Christmas read. And that is mostly what I have done today, read Christmas stories!
Stella is in witness protection having turned in her ex-boyfriend for gun running and murder. She ends up in rural Virginia with Jordan as her neighbor. A retired Force Recon Marine, he takes on her protection. Sparks fly and the rest, as they say, is history!
This was a wonderful, quick Christmas read! I love Jenna Gunn, and she doesn’t disappoint here. 12/10 recommend!
Wanted a bit of a lighter read between the fantasy books of late. Stella and Jordon connect in a small town at Christmas when he steps in to keep her safe from some bad guys. His years as a marine and their instant connection leads to some 'fun' times right before Christmas. Although not necessarily a festive read, it does have an alpha male, a stubborn but capable women, two cute dogs and some spice. 3.5 stars.
Stella Collins meets Jordan Waters while each of them are looking for their dogs. Stella is also on the run/hiding from her ex and Jordan is about to get knee deep. This is a very well written by this author and I look forward to her next story.
I read an early review copy of this book for an honest review.
This is definitely a book worth reading of you want danger, suspense, romance, amazing characters, and a couple of mischievous dogs. Stella and Jordan are definitely made for each other and they'll have a future unless her ex-boyfriend, former business partner finds her first.
I almost missed this Christmas present. MS . Gunn pulls these believable yet flawed characters together . The action flows into a wonderful love story you won't want to end.
As always you have written a great story that has humor, suspense, and a wonderful love story! I really enjoyed reading it and it will be one of my keepers! I'm always on the lookout for your next exciting book. Keep them coming! Thanks!
Good break fast-paced and relaxing loved Stella and Jordan how they help each other and support but Stella whine too much however it was a fluffy romance christmasy book with some drama in between
Jenna Gunn has written a 5-star book. Stella is in Floyd, Virginia under the Witness Protection program and living in Mr. Hanson's home for the time being. Stella meets Jordan when he comes over to see if Mr. Hanson has seen his dog, Max. When he asks her about Max, she said "dogs." and runs outside calling for her dog Sugar. Jordan offers to take her to look for her dog. He said that he thinks that they are together. Once the dogs are found, they go back to her place and go for a walk. While out, they find something that should not be out in the woods pointed towards her place. Stella tells him that she has a stalker and that he must have found her. When they get back to her place, the chemistry between them is too hard to fight so they go up to her room. The next morning, things don't go well for them. This is when he finds out that she is in Witness Protection. Jordan gets told the story of why she is in Witness Protection. She asks "Do you know a Wes Jenninks?" He said, "yeah, he did." She wants to know if she is his assignment now? He tells her that he and Wes are friends and he called him to find out what was going on. When things start to happen, Jordan is there to save Stella. Jordan has been the one who always played the field with women and now he doesn't want to be with anyone other than Stella. Stella and Jordan have gone into town so that she can meet with her brother Alex and get word of their grandfather. But things don't go right. As soon as they come out of the grocery store, Alex comes up behind them. Someone shoots at them and Alex gets hit in the leg. Jordan gets him behind a car and Stella tries to stop the bleeding. Jordan gets Stella and takes her to the firehouse after the EMT's get to Alex. Jordan takes her up to the office and makes her lock herself in and tells her not to open the door to anyone but him. She is not one who follows orders very well and she wants to go see about Alex and as soon as she opens the door, she sees Riker, her ex-boyfriend, and business partner. One thing that Jordan has been doing with Stell is teaching her some self-defense and how to shoot a gun. Riker thinks that all he has to do is forgive her for leaving him and things will go back to the way they were. She has other plans and they do not include Riker. She knows that if she can stall him long enough that Jordan will come for her. Things do not work out the way that Riker wants them to. The things she tells Riker makes him mad and he hits her, she falls and hits her head. She knows she doesn't have much time to do what she has to do and she gets closer to Riker and takes her knife and stabs him in the neck. About that time, Jordan takes the guards outside the door out and comes into the office. He sees that Riker is standing over Stell with a gun pointed at her. Jordan shoots him and then takes Stella out of the office. He tells her that as soon as Wes gets there, he will need to go and check on Michael and the sniper. She tells him that she is going to go with him. When they get to Michael, Stell sees that the sniper is someone that she knows and she tries to kill her. It takes Jordan telling her not to kill her because if she does they she can testify. This is the only thing that stops Stella. Will Stella ever be able to live a normal life without looking over her shoulder? Will Jordan get to hear the words from Stella he wants to hear? This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone. I received a free copy of this book and I am leaving my voluntary and honest review.
I just LOVED this book. Super action-packed and I just couldn't stop reading it! What a real page-turner! Jason is an ultra cutie romantic alpha protector, but not overbearing, and sassy super stuborn Stella is just delightful. Her life was good up until a few years ago, and then it all came crashing down. The worst part is, she is not out of the woods yet. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, Jason is the only person who can help her, even if she just doesn't want to follow some rules that would make her safer. Stuborn male vs. Stuborn female, and the result is mind blowing! Both have a lot to win or lose, they either win together or lose apart. The hot scenes are super steamy. I was at the edge of my seat up until the epilogue, and then I had a smile on my face the whole time. What a fantastic treat! I received a free ARC copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.

Stella is living in the small country town of Floyd Virginia under the witness protection plan but she's having a real hard time following the rules, making it difficult to keep her safe. Now her handler has his friend Jordan helping to keep an eye on her but Stella is quickly struggling with her feelings for Jordan.
Jordan Waters recently moved to Floyd, bought himself a nice farm house with land, and has joined the local volunteer fire department. The last thing he expects is to find himself protecting the beauty living there, or falling for her.
This book was fairly good but there were a few issues throughout the book. We never hear another word about Mr. Hanson, Jordan's ranch seems to take care of itself, and the details of Stella's protection and her breaking the rules seem strange if she actually wants to stay safe and protect those around her.
This is my first book by this author and I grabbed it because the blurb was intriguing. I was not disappointed in this book. Really good characters and story. Even though Stella is one of those "too stupid to live" heroines, she makes up for it by her caring nature and her love of her family. Jordan is the surly loner that enjoys his peace and quiet. But when Jordan is called on by a brother in arms, he answers the call.
It's a good story but there are some glaring plots holes that might drive some readers crazy (the bad guys know where she is but don't really do a lot about it). There are some great characters (namely an elderly lady and a couple of furbabies).
Overall, if you can put your disbelief aside, grab this book and enjoy it.
I was given this book for free by the author, this review is of my own choosing and totally honest. I have really enjoyed reading about Stella and Jordan, they were interesting and likeable characters who I loved as a couple; they had such chemistry and connection and definitely plenty of passion. I enjoyed the little pieces of information given here and there, and that even when I thought I knew everything I found out I didn't. There were some good supporting characters in this, my favourites were Mrs Black, Max and Sugar. I could have happily continued reading about Stella and Jordan, their friends and the place they made home.
He needed a mission, she needed a protector. Stella's handler Wes, has sent her to a middle of nowhere town called Floyd & she still doesn't feel safe from the gun smugglers tracking her. Jordan, out looking for his runaway dog, comes in contact with a beautiful woman in his neighbors house. When someone tries to kidnap Stella, Jordan is pulled right back into the special forces training he knows so well. He must protect her from the enemy, but can he do that & not fall in love with her? This was a hot, steamy, slightly suspenseful story about two people who find each other in the midst of chaos. Check this story out today.
Jenna Gunn is a new author to me, but I love her style. She writes a straight forward, entertaining and well plotted story. Stella is on the run and Jordan Waters, grizzled Marine vet, falls into helping her. Although this is more a novella it has lots of twists and turns, interesting characters, hot sex and action. Set at Christmas this book is great in bringing together family (be it blood, Marines, firefighters or community). It's very enjoyable reading a story of a mature man learning to love a woman who has matured beyond her years due to experience.
This is a wonderfull story. Stella is in Witness Protection, but she doesn't follow the rules, she is on the run from her former Partner and her handler sets her up with her neighbor a fomer Marine Special guy named Jordan. Stella and Jordan just happen to have amazing chemistry and they can't keep their hands off each other. There is scorching sex scenes aplenty in this insta love story and there is a HEA at the end, You will Not be Disapointed!
Inadvertently Stumbling Into Love - Stella and Jordan were brought together by their dogs, but stayed together because of their connection and necessity. Their engaging banter flowed smoothly, the sensual moments were epic and the storyline had enough action-packed scenes to make the story really come together beautifully. This Christmas themed story really packs a punch, that will keep you totally engrossed from the beginning, right until the end. You won’t want to miss out on reading it.
This is the first book that I have read by this author and I loved it! I love the intriguing and action-packed storyline and the wonderful characters within. Will definitely check out more books from this author.
