Silver Springs has been great, but New Orleans is calling me home...I’ve found the life I’ve dreamed of in Silver Springs. I’ve found three mates who adore me and give me the independence I’ve always craved. My ice cream shop is more successful than I dreamed it would be and I hope it will continue to grow. There’s only one dark spot in my life…my parents. It’s time to deal with them. Their lies and manipulations have to come to an end. I’m taking my mates to the Big Easy to show them where I grew up. While we’re there, we’ll pay a visit to the house I grew up in. When we leave, my parents will no longer be a part of my life, I just hope they choose the easy way to exit.
Absoluteley love Lotus and this storey is a little different in a great way from teh normal Silver Springs reads. Join Lotus on a road trip to visist her dysfuncational family, full of tender moments, fun and laugh out loud mments that you will expect from Silver Springs but with a delious sprinking of darkness to add some depth! Loved this book even more for all its differences!
I have been waiting for this and it was oh so so good! Lotus and her guys are happy, in love and business is booming, what more in life do you need? Well apparently to get rid of the folks so off to the big easy we go and OMG what a rollercoaster ride it was! It’s fast paced and emotional, it’s got action and a little steam, its dark and more then a little intense and to be honest I’m not sure how someone as great as Lotus came from such an awful family! It’s a great quick read with feeling, some laughs and some tears and I loved it!
In Lotus, our FMC ran away from her family in New Orleans and found happiness in Silver Springs. Now, she has to go back and face her family who are trying to cause more trouble, hoping to stop them forever. I love these characters, and I'm glad Maryn got more page time - I'd love to see her get her own book, someday! There was an inevitability to the ending, but I'm happy Lotus can continue her new life in peace!
I was excited for another story about Lotus and her men. I really like them and the dynamic between everyone. This is a fun quick read that gives you lots of answers about Lotus life before moving to our favorite place in the world. I really enjoyed it and I want to know more about her bff Maryn now
Wow, Lotus family is really something. The theme is a Litlle darker that silver springs in general but it still fits perfectly. It is very Nice to see Lotus find some closure in her life, the book was really well planed and a very enjoyable read. The author did great. I hope She continues to written.
Lotus Big Easy Bound (Lotus' 2nd Book) sees Lotus going back to New Orleans her hometown. Only this invitation from her parents isnt the happy reunion she'd hoped for. This book is slightly different to the first book and the other books in the SS Library series. Its darker and less humorous i thought but that in no means saying that its not a great follow up to the first book. I loved Lotus and Lotus and her guys - Evan, Drake and Lance from the first book. This was a great read.
Im wondering if Lotus' sister/friend - Maryn might get her own book too? Id definitely read it if she did
Lotus and her mates are back. Lotus receives an invite from her parents to come home to New Orleans. They of course are up to the usual tricks. Some great humor and some very sweet and tender moments. I love how the relationship between her and her mates is still evolving. Great fun and quick read.
I always love the chance to catch up with characters from former books and this made for an interesting read. Being from New Orleans, it was interesting to see the play on Mardi Gras and other things that one can only find in the city. I really enjoyed this read and hope to see more.
Writing sequels is hard. Writing series is hard. I've been writing some stories myself, but I've learned that I can't do series or sequels. Because that means planning and plotting ahead. I'm therefore really admiring Jacks. Not only did she win a contest to get her debut novel published in the well known and well loved Silver Springs series. She also managed to write a sequel! And I'm very happy that once again I got an arc.
This book has a slightly different atmosphere compared to the other silver springs books. Not that I'm complaining about that. This book had a delicious dark and interesting plot and the finale is so incredibly thrilling. I actually just wanted to get started after work, but it was impossible to put the book down and I therefore finished it in one sitting. Technically most of the book is about one night only, but so much is happening in that one night.
I quite like how Jacks never touches the relationship she established in the first book. I love drama, probably more than the average person, but I don't like drama for the sake of drama and I'm therefore quite happy that Jacks managed to avoid that. It's clear that Lotus and her mates have this special connection and that no one will come between them. They trust each other. They fight for each other and if they have to they even kill for each other.
Although there's a lot of action in this book, Jacks doesn't forget the emotions of the main characters either. Even during the most brutal action scene, our characters are still feeling things and we readers get to feel those emotions with them. I also liked that everything that happened wasn't just shrugged away. Everyone deserved what they got in this book, no doubt about that, but I'm glad our characters were affected by it and had to deal with the aftermath.
So, Nikki, is the best friend getting a story too? I can't wait to read your next book!
Lotus: Big Easy Bound by Nikki Jacks is another addition to the Silver Springs Series and the second book from this awesome author about one of our favs, Lotus. While it features a 'ROAD TRIP!' with Lotus and her hot mates, it veers a little away from the typical Silver Springs offering. Besides the change of venue, we also get to see quite a bit into the life of Lotus and what makes her the character we love. Even with the fun and lighter moments, it also shows some depth and what she experienced before we met her, and I'm glad that she found her way to our charming town and her devoted mates!!! I loved this new addition and really hope to see more from this talented author in the future!!
Lotus and her men are back!! Well it seems as though her parents did not get the memo last time. Lotus, wants them to see her as a person but they only see what power they can obtain with her. It is sad. However, her men will do anything to keep her mind off of what her parents want her to do. They will always protect her at any cost. In this book, I feel as though we get a wee bit more emotions and seems to be fast paced. There is steam but not like the first book but it is just as good. This is still full of action which I love. Then when we got close to the end something significant happens and things get shaky. I was like it can't end this way. It was crazy but we do get a happy ending. So check out what happens in the Big Easy.
Lotus is back with her mates. Even, Drake and Lance as they head to New Orleans to deal with her parents once and for all. I loved how the story had the same quality that we love about silver springs but at the same time being Slightly darker than most. Throw in a bit of danger and a best friend Maryn who will do anything for lotus in order to keep her safe. While there was a darker side it still had a bit of humour where Maryn bosses the guys around new Orleans and shows them the true meaning of mardi gras and doing it in style. Although this story wasn't smutty like the last story. It didn't detract from the story and I found it still enjoyable to read.
LOTUS!!! What a great Silver Springs (kinda) read! I love that Lotus and her guys are back in the well written, fun and zany read! Delightful characters as always and Jacks delivers an incredible read with a storyline that flows smoothly. I love how there are laughs to be had in this trip to see Lotus' dysfunctional family but we also have the emotion and depth that make these reads so incredible. A bit darker that a normal SS read but still so incredibly well done. Can't wait to see what's next in this ever delightful, multi author world!
I received a free copy of this book at my request and I have voluntarily provided this review.
You will definitely enjoy reading this book if you like the Silver Springs series. I will admit this one is darker then most of the other books in the series. We get a better look at Lotus and her life before coming to Silver Springs. While you can see her love for New Orleans, her family definitely sucks. With the help of her mates, she finally understands that her family does not have her best interests at heart. I would definitely recommend this book.
Out of the frying pan and into the fire. Or in Lotus and her mates case, out of Silver Springs and on to New Orleans during Mardi Gras. After the events of Lotus, her parents still think they can force Lotus to mate with someone of their choosing, ignoring the fact she's already mated. With an invite to New Orleans, Lotus plans on making her arrival known.
There's a little danger, spice, and all things nice. Lotus: Big Easy Bound was a fun and quick read where we get to see another side to Lotus where her family is involved. It's a brilliant little addition to her story.
This is a fun quick read that tells you more about Lotus’ life . This book is a bit dark for Silver Springs, but it works. It was nice to see Lotus find some closure, even if it was hard for her. She definitely loves New Orleans, but her family is absolutely horrible. Her mates help her understand this. I personally enjoyed that the romance was there, but not high levels of steam. The suspense, darkness, and romance keep you rooting for Lotus. I highly recommend you give this book a try. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This sequel is an adventure with a lot of action, some steam, and a little heartbreak, all packed into a quick read. Lotus’ parents are still gunning to run her life, and she decides enough is enough and it’s time to face them head on. With hopes of persuading her parents to let her live her life, and find some new recipes for the shop in the process, her and her mates head off to New Orleans. Unfortunately, things don’t go quite as hoped for our characters.
Nikki Jacks brings Lotus back to The Big Easy in a family stand off that will bring your heckles up.
Life isn't always Peaches & Cream, or Red Beans & Rice for that matter. Lotus has created a sweet life for herself, and her mates are more than happy to be the sprinkles to her ice cream. But familial demands can really ruin a good time. And family that has tried to control you and only has their best interests in mind is not family that you need.
I absolutely loved this sequel. I will admit this was a bit darker for a Silver Springs read. I still found it to be a great addition to the series. With the add it action-adventure, intrigue, and of course steamy romance made for a helluva read can't wait for the next book in the series. As always my review are totally voluntarily and no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are completely my own.
Lotus gets a letter from her parents demanding her return to New Orleans for Mardi Gras so she can be mated to someone of their choosing. Lotus does decide to return, with her mates in tow to settle this once and for all. A nice quick story which made for an enjoyable read. I always love to return to Silver Springs (even though the bulk of this wasn't technically set in that location) to catch up with the characters latest exploits
Love to reconnect with Lotus and her men. This one will bring us to New Orleans. Unlike the Silver Springs stories this one does get a little darker as the group must confront Lotus’s parents. But her parents won’t know what to expect as Lotus with her men and her best friend are a force of their own. The love of her men and her bff is amazing and strong. We may not be able to pick our blood family but we can pick who are true family of the heart are.
I enjoyed this book and fell right in love again with the Silver Springs inhabitants. This one is a sequal so do read Lotus first. I enjoyed that this is a little darker then most of the light hearted books and that falls right into what I'm into reading lately. Lotus is visiting family and quickly learns that not all have her interest as top priority. This is a quicker read but still a very nice addition to Silver Springs.
Gotta love anything Silver Springs! Lotus is forced to come to terms with her parents and her past life in NOLA. The theme is a bit darker, but I expected that being in the heart of NOLA during Mardi Gras. The steam in this book is room temp, but intended that way by the author (left to the imagination and all that). Great story, amazing characters, and wonderful writing. Be sure to read Lotus' first book before reading this one.
I have really missed my silver springs stories so this arrived just in the nick of time. I have loved this catch up with Lotus and her men. In this book she returns home to tie up lots ends and make a clean break from her manipulative family, but with all things sliver springs things are never simple. I loved this book and cannot wait for more silver springs books in the future.
I loved the first book, and while Lotus and her mates have a stronger bond in this story, it fell short for me. It is very different from the first one and I did like the stuff in New Orleans. The steam was gone, but I can use my imagination so that didn't bother me. Overall, it was good, quick read.
This book was a fun read that makes you forget what is going in in real life and you can just sit back and enjoy. It moves along at a great pace making for an easy read. The characters are fun and loveable and you feel as though you know them personally. The story keeps you reading till the end and then you are wondering what will happen next. This book is a must read no doubt about it.
Lotus finally gets a backbone when her evil manipulative parents demand she comes back to New Orleans to be mated. While it took me a few to remember who everyone was, you don't really need the minor details to enjoy this story. Lotus is taking control of her life with her mates and getting free.
Another great Lotus story. This was a bit darker but still great addition silver springs. Lotus qnd her mates make a trip to New Orleans since her parents arranged another marriage qnd she wants to make sure they know she will never let that happen. There was alot less steam but I didn't miss it since I was wrapped up in the storyline. Well done Nikki Jacks on another great book.
This was a fab addition to the Silver Springs world but I love that it gave great detail to Lotus' life before she actually hit Silver Springs. So while there is still humour, there's also danger, action, a wretched family and a well deserved comeuppance. Expect a great emotional ride with this one and a wonderful ending to finish it off :D
Lotus, Big Easy Bound is darker and has a less steamy scenes from most of the Silver Springs books. Lotus gets an invitation from her parents to come back to New Orleans but the happy reunion she wishes for doesn't happen. Luckily she has her mates to help her deal with her parents. I was really happy to see Lotus' story get closure.
