NBA champion, sports analyst, and successful businessman Shaquille O'Neal!
Shaquille O'Neal discovered his love of basketball while spending time in an afterschool program called the Boys & Girls Club of America. Standing over six feet tall by the time he turned eleven years old, Shaq--as he is known--continued to practice the game and stunned the country with his skills. From leading his high-school team to its first-ever state title to becoming the first pick in the 1992 NBA draft and going on to win four NBA championships, Shaq proved that he could dominate almost any player.
But the fifteen-time All Star who played for six teams throughout his nineteen-year NBA career isn't just a force on the court, he is also an actor, television host, musician, and businessman who is always ready to crack a joke or bust a dance move.
Fun reading this with George. Forced us to visit YouTube to watch the ‘94 draft held in Portland and some of his best dunks. 6’3” at age 11?!?!? Incredible.
Who is Shaqullie Oneal By Ellen Labrecque This book is really good an it intrest me the most beacause it is about someone I like and know some stuff about... but just how he is his height is just so crazy but one thing that makes the book really good is just he couldnt even jump over a pencil. My favorite part of the book is when he would brake the backboard. I recomend this book to anyone who likes sports.
108 pgs. This is an inspiring biography of a famous basketball player, businessman, entertainer, and NBA champion Shaquille O'Neal. There are drawings throughout as well as a timeline and additional resources at the end. Kids will enjoy reading about Shaq and learning about his career and life. It is a well-written and inspiring story. Highly recommended for Grades 4-6.
As if I needed more reasons to think of Shaq as a really cool guy! There were so many things I never realized about him. We both had being taller than everyone else in class in common! Great book. I really enjoyed it.
It was okay. This book taught me in depth about his life and how hard it was for him being so tall at such a young age. Him going through many things helped him become the star he is now.
It was a quick read at the gym while on the bike, and like Shaq himself, full of fun facts. I was often curious about him and enjoyed putting some pieces to a slam dunk giant!
This book really shone a light on Shaq’s successful career and his big heart for others. I could have done without the again oddly chosen timelines, but for the most part, this book was awesome!
