A CAPTIVATING, VIVID WESTERN CLASSIC – FOR FANS OF THE TRUE WILD WEST.
They had flirted with the distant snowcapped mountains before but never had the opportunity to walk among them. Now with renewed determination, Reuben and his new bride, Elly, set out for those mountains. But the trail they traveled took them through the goldfields of the Pike’s Peak Gold Rush of South Park, Colorado Territory.
Evil was running rampant in the outlying areas of the mountain park and when mutilated and disfigured bodies began to litter the landscape from the mountains to the plains, the prospectors and settlers began to let fear rule their lives.
When the supposed killers were finally identified, Reuben joined the posse, not to catch the killers, but to prevent a lawless lynching of possibly innocent travelers. Chosen as a scout to team up with a wily old mountain man, Reuben and his partner would be confronted by a rampaging Ute war party, chase down the bloody killers, and confront those that would take law into their own hands. When blood covered the land, something had to be done, and Reuben could be the man to do it. And all in the middle of God’s Country.

Bob Rundell – Plainsman Western Bk 4 – The Trail to Revolution – Review 3/12/22 – Read 3/9/22
Reuben and his new bride, Elly, set their sights on the southern Rocky Mountains.
Reuben and Elly have been so busy lately that they had not been able to do what they had set out to do, and that was to enjoy the beauty around them. They loved the look of the distant snowcapped mountains and finally set out for them. This trip was just what they needed, and it took them through the goldfields of the Pike’s Peak gold rush of southern Colorado. Getting there, they realized that it was not quite what they were looking for but would be alright to rest up for a few days. Unfortunately, there was evil in the area, and when the mutilated bodies started showing up, the locals let the fear get ahold of them. Reuben was the type of man that he could not let innocent men die, so he decided to join the posse, hoping to stop any unnecessary lynching. Now the story begins.
Join Reuben as he teams up with an old mountain man scouting for the posse…
What did I like? Bob Rundell is one of my favorite authors, and I think I have read almost everything he has written. He softly adds his Christian touches to his storylines, making them a pleasure to enjoy.
What will you like? Wow, the action is ramped up in this edition. The fear that runs rampant through the town and mines has driven the locals to such a fury. Only by the grace of Reuben and his level head is he able to help them. Lots of action, mystery, intrigue, and hot heads lead this book to its conclusion. Don’t miss adding this next adventure in the Plainsman series with BN Rundell’s “The Trail to Revolution” available NOW!!!
Reuben and Elly head further west toward the gold fields. Two Mexican brothers seeking revenge for the killing of their family and stealing of their land, are murdering and mutilating any American they find. I wasn't happy that the captain of the first posse hangs an innocent person and doesn't receive punishment of any kind. Main reason I only gave 3 and a half stars.
Great story of the adventures of this man and the mountains The author weaves the stories of the characters together and their trials and tribulations Great story in this series
Great descriptions of the wonderful vistas lot the Rocky Mountain areas. Situations and action were well described and enjoyable. The confrontations of the lady and the miners was neat.
I love rueben And ellie. They are a great match together. I am looking forward to their next adventure. Cant wait to see if they settle down And maybe have some babies. I always enjoy their story And look forward to the next one.
How can supposed good men go bad. Just to be on power trip you hang innocent men. Rueben had to keep posse honest. But didn't realize it would be hard to do when posse split up.
Another great story in this series! I really like the way this author tells about the different flowers and terrain that makes you feel like you are right there within the book!
I chose this rating due to the fact that too much description is given. It seems pages of description is given and less of the story. The descriptions are very through and beautiful, but enough is enough. More story is needed.
I am not enjoying this series as much as Stonecroft and Buckskin. Two things in this book: dog's name cha need from Buster to Bear, and Rueben has had some training in fighting.
