If you have/are working in any organisation in India you must have come across the POSH Act/Policy. It stands for Prevention of Sexual Harassment. The purpose of this policy is to prevent sexual harassment against women in the workplace and also to protect them. Every company aims to provide a safe working environment for all people. In spite of all these, the graph of Sexual Harassment in the workplace has seen a constant rise all over the world.

This is what the author highlighted in this well-researched book. The book not only discusses the issue but also educates and shows the appropriate steps to take. It is focused on Indian organisations and Indian policies. The book is written with the purpose of educating the readers. From some basic definitions to the duties and rights of each individual, the book covers it all. The author has also explained the ways in which one can leverage their rights and get maximum benefits.

The book is so well-researched and backed by legitimate data. The use of graphs helps to give a clear picture. This is literally the most appealing and easy-to-understand guide for such an important topic with complex solutions. Kudos to the author for choosing this topic for her book and doing a fantastic job.

Ready Reckoner on Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplaces in India is a non-fiction written by Anupamaa V. As it is widely known that violence against women have been a phenomena in Indian society which has proven to be a hurdle in the development of our country and to tackle it, several governments came up with different kinds of laws and policies to deal with it. The POSH Act of 2013 is one such law passed by our parliament to address the harassment that women face in their work environment.

As we all know, laws are written in technical language which can be interpreted by a layman differently hence this book aims at solving that problem for organizations and help them understand their duties under the POSH Act, 2013. Written in extremely simple language, it is a guide to help through the intricacies of the law and implement it efficiently. Divided into several chapters, this book explained each and every single aspect of the law from who is an employee to what are the responsibilities of an employer and much more. Each of these chapters have a dedicated FAQ or Frequently Asked Questions section as well where the author has gone into the details to clear out some confusions. In a time where we are nowhere close to solving this problem, books like these become an essential reading for everyone especially employers. I can’t stress it enough how detailed this book is but at the same time, with the simplicity it has been written is also something that can’t be ignored. Highly recommended.

Even after years of independence and development in education system people tend to forget the value of a woman which is a shame. In years the status of working women has been increased so the ratio of harassment also. Withour proper knowledge of the steps to be taken to prevent the misuse, women are said to be silent and dominated.

The book is a box of plethora of information for a working woman. The evolution of rules and regulations to how to use it, a detailed analysis has been described. With a proper knowledge and detailed explanation through flow chart and diagrams with faqs. About the workplace and formation of internal committee, organization who takes care of the awareness and employees duties regarding to it, a through detailed information Portrayed.
There is advantages and Disadvantages of everything. Here also there are some disadvantages by which flase alligations also occur. There should be a proper investigation team to look for the matter. A proper channel should be formed to give a report about it. That is also mentioned.

Basicall this book is a complete knowledge of sexual harassment in the workplace why it happens to how to prevent it in a professional way. Infact the laws regarding to the case is also given. Some real stories where women has been harassed by gangs to scare them and shut their mouth also shared which gives a deep info.

She has analysed each and every aspect of this issue. She has also provided us the history, evolution, rules and regulations etc. It's a well presented book. The Goverment has issued some fundamental rights to every citizen of India, including the women of our country but sadly women are not getting the advantage of their own rights. They are ill treated everywhere. Despite of having all the fundamental rights they are the sufferers. Not a single women is 100% safe at workplaces. The great comic satire is that in our society we consider women as a goddess but in the truth they are sexually harrassed everywhere. Sexual harassment includes a long list of things. It is necessary to put them here in some detail in order to caution those who may indulge in such activity. The concept around which the book revolves is very clear by the title itself. The book contains Explanation to all provisions of POSH, cases and laws, act and rules etc.

As the title suggests, it's a non fictional book which is written with the purpose of motivation and inspiration for working women. The aim of the book is to help women feel comfortable at their workplace. The book explains all the laws which talks about different topics related to the employees which are separated with different chapters. I won't talk much about the content of the book, because I would love each and every person out there to read it themselves.

I on my personal level, loved the book. I generally don't read much of non fictional books but this one's amazing. The writing style to easy and to the point. It is easily understandable, hence can be read by any one. What I loved the most about the book is that, the author has explained everything in quite details which have made things crystal clear.

This ready reckoner is designed in a structured manner. There are FAQs which helps to understand the question in content. The book is not only limited to describing the provisions of act, but it covers the logic behind formulation of act itself, its various provisions and rules thereof. Another thing, which makes me like this book is that it is single window reference book as it covers not only act but all the related rules also. This can be helpful for students of various streams like CA, CS, LLB, LLM, B. Com and so on.

Furthermore, this book is narrative and not in tabular form; yet this book beats the many more books available in the market in tabular form in terms of language, simplicity, detailing and comprehension. I really loved this book and recommend it to all those who seek to gain the knowledge about POSH act.

At the end, it's not what a human stands for. Instead, over here amidst the society, it's what you bow and what you earn which is a thing acknowledged more than anything real. I got my set of respect for the work author has proposed despite the fact that the changes are way too difficult to be witnessed when it's about this a crucial term called Rape. Well the book is isn't entirely based upon this term as this one evolves through this term's branches. Author's work, efforts and research mainly is thoroughly visible right from the page of contents where things are detailed and so is the narration, descriptive indeed which is a thing totally positive about the book.
While on one hand author speaks of things happening at a work place in terms wrong things happening, I could see how much precise the words have to be looked into in order to keep the speech flawless and deliver a strong message and at the same time, an understanding. Sexual harrasment is the behaviour characterized by the making of unwelcome and inappropriate sexual remarks or physical advances without your consent. I believe talking about it still underrated and we have to raise more awareness about it, because even if you don't agree, sexual harrasment is real and yes its not an over reaction when you are a victim of it.

POSH Act/Policy,stands for Prevention of Sexual Harassment. The main purpose of this act or policy,is to provide safety of women in work place,it raises voice against sexual harrasment. With the increasing numbers of sexual harrasment,I believe this was a much needed one.

In this book,the author has tried to highlight and specify more about this act,by explaining every law,act and rules about it. The book is a well researched one and the author has also answered few frequently asked questions about the topic,which will surely clear all your doubts. Sexual harassment at a workplace is considered violation of women's right to equality, life and liberty. It creates an insecure and hostile work environment, which discourage women's participation in work, thereby adversely affecting their social and economic empowerment and the goal of inclusive growth.This book hits the most sensitive topic, faced in today era each and every day by some or the other female.

Bringing this topic, spotting and elaborately discussing under the Article 13.There are so many cases which I read while going through this, it is quite an informative book. The awareness and encouragement to use this by females who are suffering or suffered in there workplace should be practiced without hesitation.

What kind of harassment, are included and sorted under this. This Handbook gives exactly what it promises, I like the in-depth approach that author took in the matter and tried to cover almost all dynamics of the topic.
Being a law enthusiast, I also liked the major portion of the handbook that it formed though I felt it could be a lil too much for general public and some might even find it less than interesting .
For some reason I wished the contents page was more elaborated so we knew exactly where to look during need.
Its a much appreciative step taken by the author here for bringing this book to existence. Its very informative and can be of immense help for countless ladies in the country.

Sexual harrasment has become popular with the surging developmental plans & women empowerment. Today, women tend to break the society's shell and come out. They learn together, and work together. Having said that, one can not deny the fact that sexual harrasment had also multipled at work and public places.

What's sad is the women don't know about their rights related to women safety. This book serves the purpose. It explains the women safety lawa in simple and lucid language.

It's been one of the most sensitive topics and must say Author has very well researched in this field. This study demonstrates how and what women, sexual assaults at their work place or rape victims can seek and what are the provisions steps that had been made from the goverment to help those people. An overview of laws in India and Punishments written in an easy language that could Mass reach and specially the organizations that are actively taking part and stepping out for those victims.


The author also ensures the way people should be able to use this information. Sexual assault and rape have always been a part of society since the beginning of human kind. So this book is complete set to provide good amount of understanding to the seekers and the organizations to serve the victims rightly.

Ready reckoner is such a great book that everyone should read. It's about sexual harassment of women at workplace.
This book talks on lot of things such as what parliament consider about gender equality, what is employer's duty, what is work place and many case laws have been explained in the book which is soo deep to read.
The book says it is in the interest of the citizens of India, that the present law be
woman centric and if there are any cases of harassment against men, the same can be recorded in the Annual Report.
Annual report is nothing but the complaints about sexual harassment in the workplace which is to be submitted to District every year.
Overall this book is of great help and one should read this book for more knowledge if in case they don't know what to do if there is any inconveniences happening in the workplace.

This book discuss the scenario of women harrasment and how to handle the whole plot. In India, females are always considered as goddess. But now, in newspapers and news channel, we all always listen about women harrasment, rapes and murders etc. Women's are not safe at all in India. The graph of these cases are increasing day by day. I personally picked up this book to know the cause and prevention for it. Overall I like the whole content. Language is moderate. Book cover is relatable and decent. I personally recommend you to read this book. You will get to know some essential point about how to tackle the situation.

Impactful book by writer Anupamaa V is based on POSH act/policy, means the act against which prevents sexual harrassment.
I'm so happy that i got the chance to read something like this. All the acts are mentioned in clear and easy way. highlight of these rights is a must for all the people working or not working to have awareness of our rights.
In India, being a woman too is a difficult task, and then this kind of activities in our professionalism... shameful.
The criteria shares the aspects of sexually u coloured behaviour, even though it's practice is mandatory in India since 2013. it seeks to empower women to fight against sexual harrassment at workspace. And it has helped many women in getting justice
The book clearly shows some acts to take care of, and helping yourself.
Cover and language have it's own value. Highly recommended to all the people out there!!!

I don't read non fiction often, but the title appeared so detailed that I decided to pick this book up. This book is an extremely insightful read that deals with a very sensitive yet important topic - harassments faced by women, mainly at workplace. The book provides in - depth information about how this can be prevented or tackled with, as well as the legal aspects associated with it. The book discusses about the POSH Act, 2013, in details, including its history, clauses, rules, objectives et cetra. The book also talks about the rights of the victim and steps that are to be taken, in case they face any such issues. This book is extremely informative and well researched, aiming to make workplaces safer for women. The writing style is compelling and convincing.
This book is a must read for all, especially the women.
