THIS IS THE 2ND EDITION OF THIS BOOK; PUBLISHED DECEMBER 2021.

Are you ready to get your happy on?

Tired of long, drawn-out self-help books that only deliver a small piece of the happiness puzzle? Confused by all the talk about finding your purpose? Are you starting to think that true happiness is only possible for yogic gurus, wise sages, high priests, and perhaps the Dalai Lama?

If you’ve picked up this book, presumably you (like many of us) are on a quest to discover more happiness. Maybe you’ve experienced a crisis that seems insurmountable, making it difficult to see a silver lining. Or maybe you are grieving, depressed, or anxious. Perhaps you feel like something is missing— a sense of emptiness, but you aren’t sure why. Or maybe you are on a soul-searching mission to discover your true calling.

This guidebook takes a fun, no-nonsense approach to personal development and provides the reader access to innovative and proven happiness strategies not readily available. Kelly combines her knowledge as a licensed counselor, with reliable scientific data, and a bit of yogic wisdom to create an extraordinary formula for a life where joy is not a fleeting emotion, but a constant companion.

Kelly McClintock’s journey to becoming a “happiness expert” began in one of the unlikeliest of a jail. As a jail-based therapist, Kelly has worked with thousands of incarcerated individuals, providing her a unique view of the profound human desire to overcome difficult circumstances. And then, in early 2014, it was she who was on a mission to escape the darkness that had suddenly engulfed her life. In this book, Kelly chronicles what she refers to as “the Divine Storm of 2014”, which came in the form of a life-threatening diagnosis. And it wasn’t her diagnosis; it was far worse. After complaining of leg pain, Kelly’s 11-year-old son was diagnosed with a Ewing Sarcoma tumor on his left femur.

Walk beside this author as she honestly and organically sorts her personal trauma, while developing 30 innovative strategies to comfort, soothe, guide, heal, and help us to persevere. Kelly outlines the methods that work for her clients, as well as the unique strategies that helped her ailing spirit during her darkest moments. Explore the power of spirituality and methods like mindfulness to harness thoughts and emotions, empowering us to effectively deal with life’s most difficult circumstances.

Find Your Happy is a no-frills, cut-to-the-chase, comprehensive guide to happiness. Unlock 30 essential keys to happiness, providing the roadmap needed to exist at a higher consciousness, where you experience the steadfast joy you deserve.

"Find Your Happy" is a must-read for anyone who's trying to find their purpose in life. In this revised edition, Kelly McClintock gives information on 30 "plays" that readers can make to improve their happiness.

First she starts by getting some disclaimers out of the way - she explains how the book is based on her personal experiences and not necessarily on facts or science, although she does reference several authors throughout the book, and includes a list of popular ones later. She also mentions in the first chapter that she'll be talking about some scientific theories later in the book, and has changed the names of non-family members to protect their privacy, She also mentions that she'll be expressing some of her opinions throughout the book, and the reader can feel free to disagree with her.

In "The Quest for Happiness," she discusses our current addiction to modern technology and how that, along with other ways we've changed our environment, has fueled our unhappiness. She relates a few stories about how addiction to technology caused people she knew to miss out on key moments in their loved ones' lives.

In the next two short chapters, "Scratch Your Ass and Get Glad," and "Building this Playbook," She talks about how she started to research the different "plays" that people can take to make themselves happy. She started by researching, then people started emailing her information on things they did to increase their happiness. She started to put together a list, until her son was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma and all of a sudden she found herself doing a lot of praying.

She got her kids to help her with the information she received, and they started taking some of it and incorporating it into their lives as well. They created intentions and vision boards, and focused on reaching goals. They started getting along better with each other.

Finally, she gets to the part where she starts sharing information on the different plays:
1. Know your purpose.
2. Find your passion or calling.
3. All that exists is divine and connected.
4. Be grateful .
5. Live right.
6. Connect with Mother Earth.
7. Law of Attraction
8. Love and Abundance
9. T-F-A and 3 C's formula
10. Getting it.
11. Mindfulness
12. Honor the divine storm
13. Find your tribe
14. Boundaries
15. Mind Less and Forgive
16. Reduce stress
17. Meditation/prayer/self-hypnosis
18. Manifest your intentions
19. Your inner guide
20. Health and Nutrition
21. Exercise
22. Rest
23. Avoid toxins.
24. Money -
25. Sacred time/balance
26. Structure and rituals
27. Say "no"
28. Don't be chicken, just be you
29. No mud, no lotus
30. Impact the world

These are the 30 plays. The book ends with some FAQs about the author's son, who recovered from cancer, and other things going on in her life.

If you want to find your happy, definitely read this book. It's worth the download!

Dr. Kelly McClintock's book, "Find Your Happy," is a valuable resource in the self-help genre. It stands out due to its holistic approach, going beyond typical happiness tips to explore the interconnectedness of physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Dr. McClintock, a medical doctor, supports her advice with scientific evidence, providing readers with a credible path to happiness.

What sets this book apart is its practicality. Dr. McClintock not only discusses happiness but also offers actionable steps and exercises that can easily be incorporated into daily routines. These exercises cover various aspects of life, including physical health, emotional well-being, and mental resilience. They serve as a reminder that happiness is a journey, and with some effort, the rewards are limitless.

Dr. McClintock's writing is not only informative but also relatable and uplifting. She shares personal stories and insights from her medical practice, making the book engaging and encouraging.

"Find Your Happy" is a beacon of positivity in a world often overshadowed by stress and uncertainty. Dr. McClintock's wisdom and guidance can empower anyone to take control of their happiness and find fulfillment in a meaningful and lasting way. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to those seeking genuine, long-lasting happiness and well-being.

Kelly McClintock hits this new Find Your Happy Book out of the water. I am a huge fan of non-fiction self-help books. I look over ideas and skills to assist myself further in life and learn to live better. Kelly truly spoke my language when she asked a simple question “So what would make you happy?” that simple question made me not only finish the book but pull out the highlighter on my Kindle and start highlighting everything. Her thoughtful insights and stories help me realize I am not the only one who struggles with what makes me happy. Her resources, playbook, and overall advice hit the core of what I have been looking for. In fact after this read I will be going back to it as I work up my own playbook. I really believe this resource transcends religions and other faiths because her singular focus on body and soul is something to which all faiths can relate. I definitely will recommend this book to anyone who just needs direction on where they would like their happiness to be. I am glad I did pick up the Kindle version but I can tell you will not miss out by picking up the paperback version for yourself. I can say the one hundred and ninety-six pages will go quickly. The last few pages are full of additional resources and this is worth way more than the cost of the Kindle version. I was lucky enough to pick up the 2nd edition of the book. I can say I can see all ages getting some direction from this book. The topics are not above any age and can easily apply to children, which she explains she did herself in her home.

The Real Thing, I Loved It

The title and topic of “Find Your Happy: A Holistic Approach to Get Your Happy On,” may sound a little lighthearted and maybe a little foo foo, but this book is anything but that! I love true faith stories, especially the ones that leave a lasting impression, ones that encourage, and ones that make me believe that I too can overcome the darkness. As I write this the drab winter closes in all around us, but no snow, just cold. It is easy to keep your head down and preserver through the next few months unfeeling.

This read comes at the perfect time. The mindful practices, her own experiences, the health connection, and the importance of purpose come together in a clear and organized book that sent me onward and beyond to identify my own happiness. McClintock’s writing comes in the form of conversation. The fun, real, pulls no punches – like honest advice from a good friend kind of conversation. It reminded me of a good friend from about a decade back. Boy do I miss her.

Page 5 declares “Happiness is our most important life’s work.” It is handwritten like many of the illustrations that join real pictures throughout these pages. This quality reinforces the authenticity of the book’s message and brings out the ‘human’ inside it’s writer. Open, honest, well sourced, providing other sources on the topic, the book is well put together, but more than that – Reading it make me feel great about me, I find excitement, humility, motivation, and gratitude for my own life as I come to understand more about that idea: Happiness. I loved it.

In “Find Your Happy,” Kelly McClintock shares her playbook for living a happier, more fulfilling life. So many of us are trying to find happiness and often we do so through trial and error; we learn through our experiences, mistakes, successes, and our own personal research. This book will help anyone get miles ahead in their journey to happiness by learning from the research and experiences the author has already had. It is a perfect combination of personal experience and scientific data. What Kelly McClintock shares is rooted in her experience as a therapist, researcher, and human seeking happiness through tough times. She is sharing what she’s learned with the world in the form of 30 “plays” based on a life-changing collision of her personal and professional worlds. When her 11-year-old son was diagnosed with cancer, she found solace in her research and realized that everything written about happiness could be organized and distilled into transformative tips for living life. The plays include topics such as Gratitude, Finding Your Tribe, Mindfulness, Connecting with Mother Earth, Money, and Rest. The great thing about this book is that you can read the chapters in order or you can pick and choose what stands out to you. As Kelly says, even integrating just one play into your life will have a positive impact.

Finding my Happiness

Through calming and reassuring words this author allows you to listen and learn. The author shares her story of happiness in an easy personal way that is not above everyone else. She provides concrete steps to use. You can use all of them or only one of them. I have used different ones at different times as I look for support to be happy. It takes work to be happy. This book provides little reminders to use and keep at your bedside as a pick-me-up in the morning or a refresher at night. I found it reinforcing in what I was doing in my quest for happiness and found new plays to try. The playbook provides options for in-depth discussions with yourself. She points out real-life happenings that should be considered in these in-depth plays. I am taking my favorite plays and creating my own playbook that I know I have used successfully, used to help me continue working on my happiness. Maintaining my happiness has become so much easier when I remind myself of these simple guiding words. Thank you for the inspiration.

"Find Your Happy" has an unforgettable narrative voice. The author includes moving personal stories, from a vibrant depiction of a baseball game where a mother spent the entire time on her phone to a devastating, vulnerable account of McClintock finding out her son was diagnosed with cancer.

There is a professional blend of research about the state of mental illness in the modern world, journalling activities, reading recommendations, visual aids, and lists of the parallels she has observed across all human behavior, based on the author’s experiences counseling inmates and navigating family life.

As a college student, the parts that stood out most to me were her explanation of the nuances of gossip—how it is overwhelmingly negative but draws people in for social conformity and a temporary thrill—and the difference between real happiness and the artificial happiness individuals project through social media. I recommend this book to anyone looking to learn about psychology, self-help, and how to structure their lives in a more positive way :)

I loved this book from the moment I downloaded and opened the book. Kelly McClintock is a fabulous therapist and a spectacular human being. The humor and brightness she brings to this book are enlightening and refreshing. Her clever, playful words brought smiles to my face and laughter to my heart. Reading the book was like attending a session with Kelly, and you feel refreshed when you're done.

There are so many books on happiness that it becomes overwhelming to choose the book perfect for meeting your needs. It's like meeting the right guy, eating the ideal meal your stomach will thank you for, and choosing the right outfit for that perfect date. I finally found the book I will read whenever I'm feeling better because I know I'll feel happier when I finish.

This book has a smooth flow, exceptional editing, and exemplary writing. I'm looking forward to spreading the word with my friends and family about this book and seeing the impact it will have. Spread love, spread peace, spread happiness. It's an honor to award this book five stars.

Finding My Happy!

Just finished reading Find My Happy and I’m feeling so motivated. Kelly breaks down the “playbook” into short simple sections that get right to the point. I, for one, appreciate her succinct style and brevity in guiding us, the readers, through lots of steps for maximizing the chances of finding happiness in our daily lives. This chunking down of the material into easily readable bites made it easy for me to consume the information in the midst of the busyness of life. Some of the plays are things I, and perhaps you, are already doing, but they still served as reinforcement to keep doing what we’re doing because it works. Other concepts, like TFA and the three c’s, framed things I already knew a little differently making it easy for me to recall them and put them to good use when needed. If you’re into personal development and are looking for something with substance and quick actionable value, definitely check out Find Your Happy!

First off, I am not a religious person, so at first reading this book I was like “Maybe I should just skip it and eat the cost of the book.” I gave it a chance, and I liked how it was geared to more spiritual than simply a religious book that put God in the seat religiously, and not what I was looking for. However, giving it a read opened my eyes to some interesting things that the author wanted to put out. So, after finishing the book, I walked away with some new tools in my toolbox that I can use in my life. Happiness is hard to have sometimes, and this book shows you how to improve yourself without always miring you in religious undertones. It is practical, and not preachy, which is good as it provides realistic solutions on how to achieve happiness. It is worth a look if you are having some issues in improving your mood.

Kelly McClintock bring something to light that many of us typically can’t point out.

We have a hard time pinpointing the things that makes unhappy, depressed, and questioning reality. But Kelly has a way a generating a path for us to begin an adventure to the source of what really makes us happy. The beginning of that is answering the questions and looking at the 30 keys to happiness that she presents.

We may have a lot of differences but the base of all our problems consist around the same questions with lacking answers.

We can bring the family together such as Kelly did and create an item around religion for example during lent the family made goals and growth began. If we all looked at some of the items that Kelly mentioned it can be the beginning to reaching the light at the end of the tunnel for all of us. Love can be found and happiness can be achieved!

The book is about fitness and mental health. The author of the book talks about scary times on social media. It's a hard life because it hurts people.  Some people get hurt by bullying on the internet. One character from the internet is bullied by a group of people.

The character invited all their Facebook friends to a birthday party. The parents of the child are on their cell phones when eating at the table. They don’t communicate with each other. The parents are communicating with their friends by texting or messaging them on social media. The people who see the author aren’t happy because they were laid off from their jobs. They are unhappy with their life. Those people feel lonely because they have nothing to do in their life anymore.  They do have more time to do hobbies and try to do things in their life.

This is a different kind of self-help book, guiding people to happiness. It is short and all-inclusive. By all-inclusive, I mean the author accepts and welcomes readers of all religions and spiritual traditions to participate in her work. What truly makes this book stand out is its thirty actionable “plays” or guidelines to fulfilment. Personally, I would have preferred it to be written with fewer slang words.
