Not bad. A short read with some substance, although I felt like I missed a lot of their relationship. I like how the author chose not to do modern day mafia, but I feel like the dialogue should have reflected it a bit more.

Safety:

Hero is 34/ heroine is 23

Hero is not celibate after they first meet (she was like 12 or something so there is no reason for him to have been) . He sees a picture of her 6 months before the start of the story and is celibate that entire time.

No virgins

Hero is not really made out to be a manh*e and he's loyal to the heroine.

No cheating

No ow/om drama

De Lucci’s Obsession

Obsession … is putting it mildly…

Look, I know some might say that being the focus of someone’s obsession could be dangerous, but wouldn’t it be great for five or so minutes? What I wouldn’t give to have a man who could afford whatever I want, give me whatever I want, and serve my every whim, whenever I want. As long as he’s not violent or demeaning, I might ever put up with it for more than 5 minutes. 😉

Cesar does Obsession very, very nicely. Sure, he’s a wee bit over-protective, a touch bossy, and slightly possessive, but it’s only because he loves Ava. At first, I was a little concerned with the age difference when Ava and Cesar first met, but it’s obvious that Cesar sees Ava as nothing more than a little kid. That second meeting though had sparks flying off the pages.

I really enjoyed Victoria Paige’s, De Lucci’s Obsession, and I’m hoping that this will be the first of many in this format. This was a short story that packed a punch (or two) and left me with all the giddy feels at the end. In Ms Paige’s usual style, she’s done her research and had me convinced that she’s spent years watching the mafia and knows what they’re capable of.

Why not 5 stars? I think I’m showing my age here when I say that I found parts of it a little corny. As it’s been a wee while since I was courted, all the gestures, emotions and words seemed over the top. I forget how much effort a new relationship can be and how you are constantly in a state of doing, saying and acting the perfect partner. It was also a reminder that whatever stage your relationship is at, a lack of communication can break a fledgling bond.

If you’re looking for a story that packs everything you want and need into a little package, you can’t go wrong with the very sexy, De Lucci’s Obsession. Victoria Paige has written a very entertaining story with a rich, sexy and bossy hero matching him up perfectly with a smart, sassy and determined heroine. It’s a sexy, gritty and fun little read that definitely left me satisfied.

I wanted to read Victoria's new series/book ''Scorned Heir'' but I kept seeing that the MMC's parents book was available to give the reader a better insight into the world and characters so here we are.

I went into this blind and honestly I really enjoyed it. Cesar was absolutely obsessed and in love with Ava long before he even moved forward with his plan to get her into his life permanently. The things he does to get Ava on the road to him can be seen as a massive red flag in the real world but in the book world where we love the OTT/JP this was exactly what I in particular look for.

He was unapologetic about his methods and the parts of his secrecy were nothing like I imagined, and I was shocked about the twist about him working with the feds for a long time (which is something we do not find out until towards the end).

We do get the third act breakup, but we saw this plot point coming from a mile away when he started bringing up Roxie/strip club and him being photographed there as well. I knew Ava would find out and when she did and confronted me AT THE CLUB you had the feeling it's all true, but it never was.

The woman who owned the strip club was his late brother’s mistress and she was helping the feds too. He was protective of her because of their mission but never had anything happen. Every time he visited the club it was to discuss things with her.

He became obsessed with Ava 6 months prior to making his move towards her and he has not wanted/looked at another.

He got rid of her bf of two years by hiring his band in Vegas and the bf just up and leaves her which causes a bit of tension when he leaves a message begging to get her back later.

His forced proximity and constant (basically stalking) of Ava lead her to fall in love with him as well.

One thing I will say is that Cesar has known Ava since she was 12 years old, and Ava's best friend is Paulie who is Cesar's younger brother. Cesar, however, NEVER felt anything towards her up until 6 months before the book starts. He barely talked or interacted with her throughout the years and lived in Europe mostly.

I really enjoyed the side characters in this book, and I honestly was really happy to read about Ava and Paulie’s REAL friendship. No sexual tension, no emotions or crushes etc. It was genuine. Paulie is married and at first it could seem like it was not a love match but you soon realize it is.
If you do read this book, also read the two bonus contents that can be downloaded you will see a nice look into the future and their 4 kids who will get their books (so far 3 were confirmed for the next gen).

Reading this book will give you a better look into the next gen books so I def recommend!

STORY:
WHAT I LIKED:
This was nice. I really like that it’s a throwback to the 90s mafia world. The beginning of Cesar and Ava’s interaction, I really liked it and was anticipating more from them. Cesar’s obsession was interesting, it was grown but gave me school boy obsessive crush too. His family is involve with the mafia, but I love that he walks the line of big business man but could get down in the mafia world if he needed to. Ava gave me feisty but not over the top feisty. She was likable.

WHAT WAS SO SO:
I just found it ok. It’s definitely not bad, but I was not wowed. I love a possessive and obsessive man and although I got that from Cesar, I guess I was expecting intensity from him. Maybe I wanted him to be more dark. I am not sure what it is but, I needed a little more from him. Plot was good, but was a little unsure of certain things.

SEXUAL CHEMISTRY
I was satisfied with their sexual chemistry.

SECONDARY CHARACTERS:
The secondary characters were appealing. I thought they added to the story playing their positions. I like that both Ava and Cesar’s family were involved.

OVERALL:
Was I entertained? Most of the time.
Did I like the story? Yes,
Would I read the other books in the series? Yes,

TRIGGERS:

****I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read. I based my book reviews on my preferences and what I like, and while these preferences may not be the same for others, I hope this review was still helpful.

I got into this story right from the start. Ava is young, 23 y/o and finishing up college.
She's also helping her mom & siblings run their pub/restaurant.
Ava is feisty. She gets along with her brothers and her sister in law Mad (Madeleine) but stands up to them too.
Ava has been friends with Paulie DeLucci since childhood. His older brother Cesar didn't seem to notice much younger Ava.
Cesar does take a lot of notice now that Ava's grown up.
She's much younger than Cesar. He tries to resist his attraction. That fails.
I really love their chemistry. There are some really steamy, and romantic scenes.
Cesar's world is complicated and gritty. That's putting it mildly.
Their story kept me turning the pages.
I've read a couple of mafia themed books, and this is one of my favorites

Won't rate because I helped beta read this book but as someone who isn't much into hardcore mafia romance with obsessive, jealous heroes, this hits the right spot.

It has mafia elements like I love like the family aspects and the light business side of it and a romance that works because the two MC actually like each other and hold similar values.

Would definitely recommend it for readers who are looking to enter into mafia romance territory.

Great read!

Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4.5)
Trope: stalker
Angst: 😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥

Great storyline that was well written and fast paced with a dash of suspense. Heroine was definitely no push over and used to doing things her own way. Hero was completely obsessed and had been for a while before he made his mood. Controlling. Manipulative. And she was having none of it, lol.

I just didn't like the decisions the heroine made.

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER

Her family's fish supplier owes money so he shows us to their family pub beaten up. And without the full order of fish they ordered for fish n chips Friday.

So the 23 year old heroine calls a childhood friend (they are still friends) who is in the Mob and asks him to handle it. Then she books a catering gig for a mafia party that her mom had already turned down. She said the pub is failing and they need the money.

She basically makes bad decisions. She is attacked at that party by one of the guys who was "squeezing" their fish supplier so the hero has to rescue her.

Loved Cesar !!!!

This book was a pleasant surprise. Cesar was completely obsessed and ott jealous and possessive to the point of manipulating Ava’s life . I loved him! Ava was a sweet family girl trying to help run the family restaurant and has no idea she had an obsessed admirer. I was hooked from the beginning and loved both families especially Ava’s. Her family was Irish and his was Italian but both were connected to the mafia. It made for a great read and I am always a sucker for those obsessive alpha males. I also have to add that this cover is hot! Look at that jaw line!

Two things I hated about this book:

The first one : The H went to a strip club after leaving h's apartment and enjoyed lap dances and maybe sex too (yes it wasn't mentioned in the book but it happened).. This disgusted me so much that I had to stop reading for a while!! Considering that he claimed to be obsessed with her for 6 months and he still went to strip clubs and had fun with OWs I found it hypocrite!!

The second one : the first time they had sex it was void of emotions, I couldn't feel their chemistry or his obsession! And the next morning? When she gave him a bj? He got mad because she did it so good and it meant that it wasn't her first time!!!! See? HYPOCRITE!!!!!!!!! So you can have sex and lap dances with OWs (while you're obsessed with her!!) and she shouldn't have been with anyone BEFORE YOU????!!!!! Fuck that!!! And FUCK YOU CESAR!!!

I Couldn’t Put This One Down!

This is an intense, hot short novel with a really sexy couple that takes place in New York City in 1995. It was cool to relive a few of the simple differences from that time. I love a story where the man is obsessed with a woman and has calculated just the right time to cross paths so he can start his campaign to win his lady. Cesar’s consuming possessiveness hit the spot for me (in my fantasy reading of course). The couple’s chemistry and the cat and mouse encounters kept me entertained.

Being part of an Italian mafia family makes Cesar a dangerous mystery. His dubious moral code when it comes to business and family adds some dark spice to his character. (The mafia elements of the story are not heavy or intrusive.) The couple’s relationship drew me in from the start and the mystery concerning the secrets behind Cesar’s private business dealings and how it could affect his relationship with Ava is constantly hovering in the shadows and threatening to ruin it all. Cesar has both a ruthlessness and fierce chivalry in his soul. His passionate words and actions towards Ava show his devotion and commitment to making her HIS no matter what obstacle gets in the way.

Ava can be as stubborn and emotional as her red hair. She’s loyal, hard-working, independent and smart. Despite Cesar’s reputation, she is very drawn by his flattering and fierce attention even though she has known betrayal in her romantic past. Ava comes from a tightly-knit Irish family who are wary of Ava associating with this powerful man after Ava’s father and brother went to prison because of working for a De Lucci. Ava has plenty to say about Cesar’s high-handed pursuit and is not afraid to make it clear that he won’t have everything his own way. His magnetism eventually wears her down and she can’t stay away. His sexy persuasion and intensity mesmerizes her and it sure kept me turning the pages.

I like that Ava needed Cesar to prove that he really wants an exclusive relationship and her love before she is all in. She is soon caught up in their consuming attraction. She tries so hard not to fall, but she is too drawn to Cesar’s intense possessiveness and their feverish physical encounters. I liked the dual points of view from Cesar and Ava in each chapter. When a crisis occurs that implies betrayal and a possible end to their relatively new commitment, I was anxious to see how they would handle a heartbreaking situation and attempt to salvage their relationship.

This was one of my favorite stories by VP and it left me wanting more. The epilogue gives a very satisfying ending to the couple’s story. After the epilogue the author provides links to 2 bonus short stories about Ava and Cesar for those that want to read more about their future. I hope this author writes another sexy short novel in the future!

I received an advanced copy of this story from the author.

Okay this was so good! Such an interesting plot for a mafia romance! The basic elements that make mafia romance so good are all there: alpha possessive hero, life or death situations, drama. But there were a lot of things that were different and that was so refreshing. Also, I signed up for the author’s newsletter to get some bonus novellas, and that was soooo worth it!!

Get ready to have everything you think you know flipped upside down! Ava and Cesar had undeniable chemistry, but is there more to it? Could it possibly be that someone is so obsessed that they did their best to alter the course of a life? And could that someone be hiding a whole lot more than expected?

As much as I wanted to slap some sense into Cesar a few times, I couldn’t help but love him. He was head over heels for Ava and wasn’t afraid to let her know it. And if he moved fast, oh well. He proved that he was after the girl and wouldn’t stop until she was his forever. Of course, his failure to share all secrets almost ruined everything before it really began (and then again), but even that wouldn’t stop him from winning Ava. He even got unlikely allies in his mission to keep her!

As for Ava, she was bold and fearless and smart. She knew that stupid grudges would only hurt their family further, so she wasn’t going to keep from doing what she had to in order to change things for the better. And she sure kept Cesar on his toes. She wasn’t about to accept his nonsense when she was worth so much more, but she also knew when to pause her hurt and anger to listen to the truth.

These two took me for quite the ride and left me wishing for more time with them in the end. Between the heat, the love, the surprises, and the determination to find forever, Ava and Cesar sure delivered everything I’d hoped for and then some.

Quiet Obsession

I love the obsessed MMC and all the erineratioms of that trope. Obsession can be played in two major ways. 1) OTT jealous obsessed MMC who goes scorched earth, immediately st@lks, etc, or 2) quiet realness to the obsession. MMC is still jealous, and it's still on epic levels but but this presents differently, with a softness.

The maneuvers Cesar used to get his mi Cara were deftly done and expertly woven. The mapulation was spot on. I appreciated the quiet nature of his obsession. Cesar wasn't playing games. He knew what he wanted, and he planned his execution out.

Expert witty natural that didn't feel canned or 1990s sitcomish, I enjoyed the dialogue. She gave as good as he did. She called him on his jealous bull. She knew when to push his buttons but also when to apologize. Ava was a breath of fresh air as an FMC.

At first, the data dump of late 1980s-1995 New York Mafia status was dull and drone. The 1990isms were explained redundantly instead of being smoothly incorporated into the story. The family connections were confusing but couldn't be helped.

The smex scenes were 🥵. The way Cesar committed to her pleasure was whew. Every bit was just delicious. The manic intensity when Ava has him at his breaking points was like, "Sit your tail down."

Lots of twists and turns. This is how you do a crime romance.

Ava helps out at her Irish family’s restaurant and not only did her family had business ties to the De Lucci family but her best friend happened to be a De Lucci as well. She is determined to be there for her family and to not repeat the mistakes of the past which means not being distracted by Cesar, despite her attraction to him.

Cesar has always known that Ava is his destiny, but he knows that his lifestyle makes them being together complicated as he has enemies that he knows about but it is the ones he doesn’t know about that could be more dangerous. When she finds herself in danger, he is determined to not only protect her but show her that the only place she belongs is with him.

Ava is exactly who Cesar needs in his life as she challenges him at every turn and proves that she is his equal in every way.

Solid three stars. It would have been a four if the book was longer, and the pacing wasn’t so condensed. Everything happened back to back. There wasn’t any time to really process or bond with any of the characters.

The end of the book felt like a long ass wrap-up. There were more details in the final scenes than the entire book. It was kinda like sitting in the movie theatre watching the bts footage as the credit rolls. On, and on it went.

I will definitely read more from this author because the writing was good! I hope she has a full length novel out, that way I can really see what she’s about.

All in all, this was a perfect junk food Mafia-ish book to spend a few hours reading. Nothing too deep but entertaining nevertheless.

I was curious why this is set in 1995 because other than cell phones it doesn’t feel dated and could be today. Then I realized the author is planning a series with this generation’s kids. I absolutely love she planned ahead and we’re getting this first as an introduction. Most authors go back later to show you how it all started and usually it’s a novella quickie. This is perfect and I appreciate getting the bigger picture and background. Overall I loved both families and what each individual character brought to the story. The chemistry between Cesar and Ava makes this a page turner. I’m excited for more of this world.

An advanced reader copy of this book was provided by the author/publisher with no expectations and in no way influences my review.

Even though this a shorter novel, it is jam packed with so much. Cesar De Lucci bursts from these pages. I can see the smolder from my living room! His obsession with Ava McGrath is all consuming but he has many reasons to be back in the US after spending several years in Italy. His connection to the mob families of New York is most of those reasons. Ava is just trying to get her family in a good place and her education finished. Her family owns and runs a restaurant and when she discovers her mother is turning away business from the De Luccis, she takes matters into her own hands. That first meeting with Cesar and Ava, although it takes place in a kitchen, is scorching hot.

3.75 stars-- DE LUCCI’S OBSESSION by Victoria Paige is a stand alone, contemporary, adult, Mafia, romance story line focusing on twenty-three year old, university student Ava McGrath, and thirty-four year old underworld, crime lord Cesar De Lucci. DELUCCI'S OBSESSION is an interconnected storyline with the author's ROGUE PROTECTOR'S series.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Ava and Cesar) DE LUCCI’S OBSESSION follows the building romance and relationship between twenty-three year old, university student Ava McGrath, and thirty-four year old underworld, crime lord Cesar De Lucci. Childhood friends with Cesar’s brother Paulie, Ava had grown up surrounded by the De Lucci family. On numerous occasions, the McGrath’s family owned bar and restaurant ‘Eamonn’s’ had been approached to cater one of the De Lucci’s family affairs but Ava’s mother refused all invitations until Ava discovered the true depth of her mother’s secret. Ava never expected to come face to face with Cesar De Lucci but Cesar was determined to claim Ava as his own, starting the night Ava was attacked for the sins of someone else. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Ava and Cesar, and the potential fall-out as the Feds set into motion a Mafia take down, that may or may not include our story line hero.

Cesar DeLucci has always had the intention of claiming Ava as his own but threats against Ava forced Cesar to show his hand, in an effort to protect the woman with whom he would fall in love. Ava McGrath wanted nothing to do with Cesar De Lucci, and the life she suspected he led on the side but Ava was still hurting from the betrayal by an ex, having been left her behind for the glitz and glamor of life on the road. Ava refused to make it easy for our story line hero to claim her heart but it was her soul that Cesar wanted for all time. The $ex scene are intimate, erotic and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are introduced to Ava’s brothers Sean, Charles, and assistant prosecutor at the US Attorney’s Office of the Southern District of New York Robert McGrath and his wife Madelyn, and their other Branna; Cesar’s brother Paulie and his wife Carlotta, their father Riccardo, uncle Jackie, and Tony Cap. The requisite evil has many faces.

DE LUCCI’S OBSESSION is a story of power, control and money, betrayal and vengeance, family, relationships, acceptance and love. The premise is compelling; the romance is provocative; the characters are sassy, spirited and edgy.

Cesar De Lucci has been obsessed with Ava McGrath since he saw her picture months ago. He decides now that he's in the states he must know her and carefully orchestrates her life so that there is no other option than for them to meet. They start seeing each other but Ava at first downplays it as just a physical relationship between them which angers Cesar. The more she learns about him though the more she realizes how obsessed he is with her. He also has secrets and the fact that his father is a former mob boss makes her wonder how dangerous those secrets are, but she can't help but fall for the possessive man.
I loved Ava and how in some ways she didn't put up with his commands and obsession passively. She was funny and snarky and I thought Cesar really needed someone like that, someone who would challenge him. Cesar was definitely a morally gray alpha male. I really liked him though and that he protected the hell out of those he loved. I'm glad there was minimal mob violence because I sometimes find that hard to stomach.

*Contemporary romance
*JP hero / hero in pursuit
*Strong, sassy, feisty yet vulnerable heroine
*Age-gap (Hero is 34, heroine is 23 and in college)
*Billionaire with an edge
*Mafia-lite / mafia with a twist
*Insta-lust, but not insta-love
*Obsession / stalker
*Best friend’s older brother
*Off – the- charts chemistry
*Intense / passionate / all-consuming
*Witty, sarcastic banter
*Heartfelt / emotional
*Angsty
*Beautiful love story

Wow, just wow! What a powerful, raw, amazing, qucik and captivating book with depth and heart. This book is going to evoke every single emotion. The author delivers swoon-worthy jealous, possessive billionaire hero and a strong, sassy, feisty heroine. Enter the world of obsession, stalkerish tendencies, insta lust and mafia with a twist. De Lucci’s Obsession is a standalone. With fantastic characters, witty banter, enough snark, emotional baggage you’ll be hooked from page one. So well-written, so enjoyable, so entertaining. A definite 5 star read with gripping storyline, truths, lies and opposing mafia families.

Ava and Cesar had me under their spell from the moment they met. Their story is an emotional, beautiful, angsty, full of witty banter / snark and few clever twists. They are such a great characters and so phenomenal together. I really loved how their relationship developed. They both have insecurities and their timing is a bit off but Cesar was determined to win over Ava’s heart. Everything about Ava and Cesar seems natural, honest and easy, though “easy” is not in their vocabulary since it felt like they need to fight every second for their relationship. Their chemistry and tension were everything. The pace of the story added to their romance, plot and to them figuring out a place in life and new circumstances of situation. Their banter and hilarious commentary were giving me life. Ava and Cesar are addictive, angsty and captivating, yet, tender, sweet, sexy and emotional. She brings out his possessiveness and protectiveness yet keeps him grounded. Cesar wants to make her dreams come true. She can be herself with him. Their love story is layered, fast paced, real, heartfelt and touching. They are each other’s match, sinfully sexy and intense. They were challenging each other through dialogues and banter. I love how they are just drawn to each other, how gradually they let each other in and begin to trust each other. They simply understand each other. Maybe they don’t make sense but together they make a perfect melody. Ava and Cesar balance each other and keep each other on toes. These two made me smile, laugh, swoon, cry and experience a lot of feelings along the way. I loved how they blossomed and thrived, got their chance at love and a new beginning.

Let me start with the man himself (and how not only I but also how I think the heroine - Ava - would probably describe him), Cesar De Lucci is like indulging in a tall glass of hot chocolate - hot, rich, smooth, a mixture of bitter & sweet, you know too much could most likely be bad for you but it's too addictive to stop and you can't help but want MORE! This man is the epitome of a JP hero and will do whatever is needed to get & keep what he considers as HIS -> Ava.

The heroine - Ava - may be slightly younger than the H but she is still strong and independent and not afraid to tell it like it is. Something that I always look forward to when reading books by this author-> the heroine might fall head over heels but that doesn't mean she will sit by meekly and do as she's told. Heck no, she speaks her mind and takes action when needed.

I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book and was over the moon when I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy but that won't stop me from buying a copy and re-reading it again. It was everything I wanted in a jealous possessive read. I absolutely love this author's writing and although not exactly her usual style of romantic suspense, I can't seem to find fault in anything except wanting more.

This book is a standalone with what could be described as ow drama(?) but "safe" read. It is filled with angst yet reasonably fast paced and with its fair share of twists that had me glued to it from start to finish. It even has a couple of humorous moments to break the tension. Written from a dual POV it should come with a warning of "may need fan, aircon and / or ice due to heat levels" because once things start heating up, it's full steam ahead. 😅

I absolutely LOVE this book and highly recommend it to anyone who loves any of the following:
JP hero
Strong heroine
"Angsty" but Steamy read
Contemporary romance
Mafia romance
Medium-to-fast burn
Standalone romance
Age gap romance
All round well written book

I received this book as an ARC for an honest and voluntary review. This book is a deviation of Ms. Paiges normal high steaks suspense books. There's a hint of mystery, but not the action that we are used to. That's just a warning if you are expecting it to be like her normal books. That's not to say I didn't like it because I loved it. I craved each chapter, had to bargain with myself to go to sleep. Oo I only had 10 min left on the oven timer, not enough to fold cloths, let's just read :)
Ms. Paige has a knack for writing intense heroes that have a way of consuming their women in a good way, and this book was no different. The fun piece was it was set in 1995, back before technology was at our fingertips. No internet, and phones were still popular on the corner. Fun fact I did see a pay phone when we were in NYC in 2019.
Ava McGrath is the baby and only girl in an Irish family that loosely has ties with the mob. In the terms that her dad and a brother used to work for one of the families until they were arrested on racketeering charges. The family runs an Irish pub that has been open for generations, but it's hit a rough spot. Little did they know that one catering job for the De Lucci family could change everything. Maybe a little planned on Cesar De Lucci's part but he'd been trying to get the McGrath family to cater for weeks, specifically to cross Ava's path. Why, because as the title suggests he's obsessed. But it's oh so good.
This is shorter than Ms. Paige's normal books, but that was a specific plan, she indicated such in the acknowledgments. This is the perfect book if you only have a day before one of your other favorite author's has a book dropping. Because you don't want to start something long knowing you'll put it aside as soon as that other book hits your kindle.

3.5 stars rounded up

The author's note at the end of De Lucci's Obsession says that Ms. Paige wanted to write a shorter novel to fit for those times when you're looking for a shorter read. I think there's a good amount of romance and story included here while still being a quicker read. I did end up wanting more details and laughed at myself once I got to the end and read the author's note, which is why I'm rounding up to 4 stars because *I* wanted a bit more but the shorter length was intentional. The story's told in first person, dual POV. No ow/om drama, neither are virgins, and it's been a few months for each of them. There is an 11 year age gap between them.

The story does include some mafia elements, but the H is part of a mafia family vs. being a made man. In addition to being wealthy and connected, he is all kinds of jealous/possessive. He's so focused on the h and does what he needs to get her (some things you don't find out til later). He's also fiercely protective of her and goes a bit crazy at even hints of another guy's interest. I really liked how he wanted to take care of her and considered her feelings, sometimes after he'd upset her, but he does have softer moments too.

The h is a feisty college student who works in her family pub and is very family focused. Because of past events between her family and mafia families, they're wary of connections, but circumstances bring the H and h together. These two met years ago, but now have instant attraction and sparks fly as she fights her end of the pull. Once she gives in, they get some great steamy scenes and start settling into their relationship. There is some angst and drama, with a bit of suspense, that happens but because this is a shorter read, things are resolved quickly and we get an epilogue with them clearly in their HEA.
