She spent her life running, and I spent mine letting her. Not anymore. Now the hunt is on.
Cole
For as long as I’ve known her, Pamela has run from commitment, and I’ve let her. Then she got herself kidnapped and held hostage in South America, and I decided... No. More.
I’ve spent my life letting her run, telling myself she was too fragile, not ready for love, too scared of commitment.
Enough.
I physically hunted her down in that hellish jungle, and now I will emotionally hunt her down, until she accepts what is staring us in the face.
We love each other.
Pamela
Cole thinks it is so simple. We love one another, and that is all that matters.
If only life were so easy.
I have secrets that are so deep and dark I am terrified to share them.
If Cole knew the real me, not only wouldn’t he love me, but he’d be the one running.
No matter how much I try, though, I can’t escape.
Cole won’t let me. So now he must face my demons too.
The Hunt is a dark mafia romance, featuring an ex-Navy SEAL, the woman he loves, a Mexican Cartel, and the Russian bratva. It can be read as a standalone, but is better enjoyed as part of the series.
Redeeming dark and dangerous heroes one book at a time. Skye Jones is an award winning and USA Today Bestselling Author. She writes dark mafia and contemporary romance as SR Jones, and angsty paranormal romance as Skye.
When not writing Skye can be found reading, dog herding, or watching gritty dramas on Netflix with her husband. She lives in the grey, windswept north of England, which fuels her taste for the dramatic and the gothic.
Very enjoyable and action packed read, not quite as good as others in this series, but the characters are excellent and the storyline is entertaining. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
Just don’t like Pamela. I really tried to like her and tried to feel something for her and all she went through, but I just couldn’t get past her actions and judgement. People risked their lives and went to lengths to save her and she was ungrateful and nasty.
I liked the story wanted to give it 5 but I just couldn’t because of her.
Pamela has been running from Cole long enough and he’s about to rescue her from the jungle where she has been captive for months. These two have a past and the timing hasn’t been right, but Cole is ready to make a go of it and he’s hoping Pamela will give them a chance. Pamela is all kinds of messed up and is still having nightmares from when she was married. Both have secrets that need to be told, but can Pamela let her barriers fall and release the burden she’s been carrying? I Love these two, love all the players intertwined in their story. I forgot how much I really enjoy this author's writing and I can’t wait for more.
Sorry but it was awful! I didn’t finish it, I tried but it was so depressing!
Pamela is a captive of a drug Lord, who she has sex with because she’s lonely. (???) It’s never explained how she was taken. She was with a cult somehow then she escaped and was taken by Roger the drug lord. Cole is an ex seal who works with some shady Bratva people. He goes to rescue her as he’s in love with her. She’s in love with him but she’s scared of her feelings so she pushed him away. Then he slept with loads of other women. Nice people.
If you’re getting the idea, that this book doesn’t have main characters who are nice people, you’re correct! I HATED BOTH OF THEM!!! He’s angry at her that she slept with Roger the drug Lord, she’s angry at him that he was okay to sleep with loads and loads of women when he said he wanted her. Just awful!
Anyway. He rescues her and they go to stay in Corfu so he can protect her. And they fall in love. Again…
I’ve got so many issues with this book. She’s supposed to be this amazing psychologist who works with women who have been in cults. Yet she doesn’t recognise that she has Stockholm syndrome with the drug Lord?? And that he effectively raped her every night??? 😡 It never explains what she was doing in the rainforest. And I really don’t believe that navy seals take psychologists with them on rescue missions!!! That’s how she supposedly met Cole. Pamela has so many issues of her own. That I just don’t believe she would be an effective therapist. As she was married off in a cult at a young age and brutally raped.
Cole is really dark and depressing. He’s an ex navy seal who believes that governments and the forces are mostly corrupt. And that’s why he’s chosen to work with a group of basically Russian mafia.
Spelling mistakes, plot holes, and their characters are just awful! If you decide to read this book…. GOOD LUCK. You have been warned.
The wait on Cole and Pamela's story was so worth it!
Yes, I knew Cole was going to be possessive but SR proved once again that her alpha men can all carry the weight of the world when it comes to their love interests.
The internal dialogue in The Hunt was daring. Pamela, Cole, Cassie and even Konstantin said exactly what they felt but sunny Cassie's darkness can be equivalent to K's...but as we now know something is coming with a vengeance to uproot the endearing happiness of the Blood Bratva series!
10 amazing stars⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!!!!!!
Merged review:
Cole and Pamela's story was well worth the wait. We finally learn their connection in the scheme of the series and what drew this endearing couple to one another. Yes, SR Jones really pulled out ever ounce of substance out of her characters and I LOVE IT!!!!
Pam is living with a group of drug dealers after escaping from a cult. Cole has tracked her down and is determined to rescue her. She has loved him for a long time. He has loved her as well. They have never declared their love because the timing has always been wrong. Pam is rejected by the head drug dealer and he turns his guards loose on her. Cole moves in quickly to rescue her. They begin their journey to freedom and they both have plenty of demons to work through. Cole is determined this time to help her through it and never let her go. Both characters are complicated and have much to work through. I wasn't familiar with the other stories in this series, but you don't really need them to enjoy this story.

A wonderful, energetic, action filled read with wonderful characters and riveting plot Manoeuvre be able to tell her he truly felt about her. However, he could not allow things to rest so he had asked several of his trusted military team to help him search for her in the jungle and off they had gone. Pamela had been trying to escape Rogers clutches and to escape from the camp where she was being held and yet she was watched like a hawk and was a prisoner, when the night came and Roger turned and threw her to his men to use as they wished she knew she was going to die!! Cole and Target and Alexi all come to her rescue and they are forced to kill some of the men and Cole believed that Roger would send someone after Pamela and kill her, she knew too much about his marijuana business and both he and the people that lived at the camp needed toe product as it paid for their food, clothes, tents etc. where they had been living for a great deal of time as a commune of sorts. Cole and Pamela had all travelled back to the secure base in Corfu with Andrius and Konstantin two very well-known and feared Russian Bratva who had quite the reputation. They had built a wonderful base for people in danger, those that needed help and facilities where they could stay and learn martial arts, personal self-defence tactics. They were also running a training and employment for personal security team who would be hired by those desiring the very best security and care, these men and woman many of them ex Bratva and the like would live and train in Corfu and them travel with their clients anywhere in the world and keep them safe. As you read this wonderful book t Cole you will also learn a little more about Cole and Pamela and they will finally have time together so they will be able to help each other with their demons. This was a wonderful read and I know that like myself you will be left waiting for the next book in this wonderful series. I do not want to spoil the plot so will say no more about the three of them, I assure you that you will enjoy every single moment of this book. I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
Cole has been searching for Pamela since she disappeared from the face of the planet, or so it seems. He’s in love with her, and she’s in love with him, but in denial. Cole let Pamela run emotionally but now that he’s found her in South America, he’ll rescue her, protect her, and show her that they’re meant to be together. Cole’s job with the ex-Russian Bratva, has given him the resources and safety to bring her home and protect her, but he has a huge battle looming to get her to give in to him about their relationship.
Pamela has a lot of secrets and demons to face before she can give Cole what he wants, but she has to recover from her kidnapping first and learn to trust again and learn to open her eyes and really see the people that she has been brought to for protection. Her cynicism and her narrow sight could be the end of Cole’s safety net if she can’t get over herself and find a way to open up to Cole about her past.
I really liked Cole but felt that he deserved so much more than what he was getting from Pamela and her narrow sight about the men that Cole works for. These men have turned their lives around and have women and families that love them unconditionally. I realize that her past has shaded her sight, but she’s so narrow minded that it irritates me. I love the other characters in this series and enjoyed the book, but I wanted to smack Pamela more than a few times. I give the book a 4-star review and look forward to more these characters. I am afraid to read The Game though as I hate to see the end of the series.
Picking up from where The Priest left off, Cole has managed to track Pamela to South America where she’s living within the community of what appears to be a cult/cartel community. Working with Target and Alexei they are planning to rescue Pamela at the safest possible time which means trying to get near her when she’s on her own. So far it’s proving to be a difficult task as she seems to be involved with the leader Roger. But when he throws Pamela out and tells two guards they’re welcome to her, Cole sees the disturbance and realises that their time has run out. But rescuing Pamela is only part of the problem. Getting Pamela back to herself is going to take time and patience. After avoiding commitment all this time, Coles ready to stop running. But is Pamela ready to meet him half way in his new life in Greece. Omg! A fantastic addition to the series. This works well as a standalone but it is so much better read in order as all of the characters put in an appearance. Brilliant!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I have to admit that I eat her books up. The characters are connected from book to book like no other books. It is awesome to see the characters surface in every book and get to learn more about them and see how they all interact together.
Cole and Pamela's story is the next love story that we get to savor. Cole is a bada$$ Navy Seal and Pamela saves women who have been traumatized in cults. What she doesn't see is how her own trauma from the past is affecting her. It is only through Cole's steady love that she begins to heal and find a family. I liked that not everything was tied up at the end. Things were not perfect between Cole and Pamela, but they were getting there with each other.
The story didn't have as much action as previous stories, but K's feelings about a looming attack set us up for the next story. I wonder what Jones has in store for us. I will impatiently await the next story, and then devour it just like I do with all her books!
Pamela is held hostage in the jungle by drug smugglers. Cole has called in many favors to locate and ultimately rescue her. She is not the same woman he knew. As a psychologist she should understand the trauma she has just been through.
There has always been an attraction between these two, but circumstances have always kept them apart. Cole is not letting the “status quo” stand anymore.
Taken to the compound in Greece for her own protection, she doesn’t trust those around her, or her feelings for Cole. Both have trauma in their past, and danger in their reality of today.
Those in the compound are hard men, who have a soft spot for the one that steals their heart. They live by a code. Can their acceptance and example help to heal another heart?
Emotional and gritty, this will steal the reader's heart for sure.
*** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book ***
Cole was willing to give Pamela all the room to run that she needed. Now he's in a Sought American jungle determined to free her from the drug dealer who kidnapped her and is holding her hostage. He'll rescue her, but he won't let her run from him again. Pamela has coped with her current circumstances as well as she can, and while she's grateful that Cole came riding to rescue, she just doesn't think she has it in her to be the woman he needs. No matter how much they love each other, Pamela has a dark secret she hasn't shared with anyone. She's afraid that if Cole were to find out, he would be the one running from her. Exciting and action-packed plot with compelling and well written characters. Fascinating interactions between all the characters, and some surprising twists in the plot, I couldn't put this book down. I think this is a must read.

Verified ARC Reader They refused to allow the past to prevent their future! by sewsummore
Cole and Pamela had been attracted to each other from their first meeting but they had never acted upon their attraction. It never seemed to be the right time for either of them. However, when she had disappeared, Cole knew that he had to find her. When he discovered that she was held captive by a drug lord, he and two of his friends went to her rescue. Pamela was damaged by her time in captivity but refused to admit it. During her time as a prisoner, she often dreamed of Cole coming to her aid and wished that things had been different in the past. I was captivated by Pamela and Cole's story and their happy ending. The two of them had difficult episodes in their past that prevented them from connecting, but they refused to allow the past to prevent the future they both wanted and needed.

A Heartrending Journey of Pain & Love!!! Don't Miss This Book! Wow and Wow!!! This is the gut-wrenching story of Pamela who has been through hell and back, actually she is still living a hell inside her head from the emotional trauma she has experienced in her life. Cole, a Navy Seal/gun for hire, is her lifeline out, he is out to save her from her latest horrific nightmare. How can one woman experience so many horrible ordeals? The entire gang is back for this extraordinary Bratva story. Andrius, Konstantin, Priest, Damen, Reece, and more. Cole is determined he will bring her back and love her with all he has. The question is will she be able to love and escape the tumultuous turmoil in her head. This is a tough love story in the making. You do not want to miss this book. Read it today!
Cole and Pamela have loved one another for some time, she has run from him a few times and he has kept her at arms length by sleeping with other women. When she disappeared he thought she might be dead, until he finds her South America with drug runners. He is ready for her to be his only forever, if he can get her to believe he is serious.
Pamela has been surviving, but that is about to come to an end, fortunately Cole shows up at the right time. She is trying to convince herself she chose to be with the leader, that she was not a victim again.
Both of them are hiding internal scars, that they will need to come clean about for them to moved forward together. Will it work this time or will she run for good?

**This book contains dark themes and adult content. May not be suitable for some.** Love comes in all shapes and sizes. Cole and Pam have worked together in the past. But she keeps running when he gets close to her. They both have secrets that could destroy them. Or bring them closer together.
Cole is a former Navy SEAL, on a mission to extract a hostage. But the hostage isn’t just anyone. The hostage is the love of his life. The woman who has been running from him for years. But it stops now. I will rescue her and then make her mine.
Pamela works for the FBI, so why is she living with a drug smuggling gangster? Roger rescued her from a cult. He was the lesser of two evils so she went with him. Now she's buying her time so she can escape. Little does she know that the love of her life is planning on rescuing her.
If you follow this series, you know the other characters. But it's always fun to see them again. At the end of Priest, we learned Cole had a strong lead on Pam's location. This story starts with Cole watching and planning how to get Pam from the "camp" he believes she's trapped in.
The main bulk of the story is these two characters reevaluating their long standing friendship and figuring out how to make a relationship work. Pam is still trying to fight and run away from her feelings, and Cole at first doesn't understand why.
The back and forth between these two and the other characters show so much personality and help Pam realize things shes been avoiding.
Wow!!! This is the gut-wrenching story of Pamela who has been through hell and back. In all actuality, she is still living a hell inside her head from the emotional trauma she has experienced in her life. Cole, a Navy Seal/gun for hire, is her lifeline out, is out to save her from her latest horrific nightmare. Bad things just seem to follow Pamela, and Cole has finally had enough. He's determined he'll bring her back and love her with all he has. The question is will she be able to love and escape the tumultuous turmoil in her head. This is a tough-love story in the making. Best of all, the entire gang is back for this extraordinary Bratva story. Andrius, Konstantin, Priest, Damen, Reece, and more. You do not want to miss this book.
Will they both stop running and find the love they need with each other
The Hunt is the sixth book in the Bratva Blood series. This story does integrate with the previous book and characters in the series, although it could be read as a standalone I would highly recommend reading the books in order. This story is about Cole and Pamela and their enduring love for each other. Although sometimes love is not enough it can be a start in learning how to trust and heal from your demons, and both these characters need to do that. This is a well written, very exciting and enthralling story and characters that you just love.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Pamela & Cole story is full of action, drama, heart wrenches (word?), steam, and so much more Pamela was kidnaped and held captive by drug smugglers in the jungle. Cole is determined to rescue her, but is sh now the woman he knew. Although she is dealing with the trauma as best she can, she just doesn't think in she can be the woman Cole needs. He just needs to make her see that he is. The book is well paced, the characters are well developed and very compelling. This was a great addition to the Bratva Blood, but could be read as a stand-alone, but with your KU subscription, the series can be read for free. Binge-worthy!!

The Hunt will make you mad, cry and smile from the love the men shows the loves of their lives.
The Hunt made me want to pull my hair out with how Pamela wanted to psychoanalyze the men at the compound. Cole and his friends rescued her from the jungle and took her to Corfu to heal. Her judgmental attitude almost cause her to be sent from the island. Cassie had to show her that she needed to dig deep and find the cause of her issues so she can finally heal. Everyone tried to help her but she so busy judging them based on their past and couldn’t see the actual good they were doing. The book is good. This whole series is good and worth the read. I like the way they interchange and the characters play a part in each book. Binge read, you will not be disappointed.
I love this series and how the author intermixes the characters and plots in these books, I think you should read them in the order they are released to get more from them but if you want to start with this one it's still good! read This is Cole and Pamela's story in which we find Cole on a mission to find and rescue Pamela. Rescuing her is the easy part healing the damage done to her and getting her to admit her feelings for him, not so much!
Both Cole and Pamela are damaged but written in such a way it's easy to connect with them especially when the author reveals the different facets of their personalities and the internal struggles they face.
I had a very difficult time following this book. A huge portion of this book is the main characters either talking to, talking about, or thinking about characters from prior books in the series. There is some action in the beginning of the book, and then very little else actually happens. Just talking and some traveling. The book is technically sound with no misspelled words or grammatical errors so I gave it two stars, but I won’t be reading other books by this author. In my opinion a book should be able to stand on its own without having to borrow so much material from other books. And this one certainly did not.
Pamela and Cole had been attracted to each other for years. Whenever they encountered each other, it just wasn’t the right time for one or the other. Cole is currently working for Andrius and Konstantin in their security firm. In that capacity Cole rescued Pamela from a drug cartel. Lots of psychological insight into both Cole and Pamela’s life and background. Great read with these two characters we have met previously in this series. Konstantin warns of danger ahead! Good read!

Holy cow!! SR Jones is amazing! The picture she painted of Coke and Pamela was both fascinating and suspenseful! Her ability to weave a captivatingly story is second to none! The storyline was intriguing and there were great twists and turns. Cole is determined to rescue Pamela from her kidnapper. These complex characters were well-balanced and perfect for each other! He determined to love her and not let her run again. Their chemistry sizzled and sparked. This was a fantastic story with a perfect ending. I was captivated until the end! Must read!
While this is considered a standalone book, it's definitely best to have read others from SR Jones because her characters keep popping up in the world she's created for them. This is Cole & Pamela's story. He's set to rescue her, but her journey is deeper than a location. She's stood up to other characters, but now she's dealing with feelings that maybe she hasn't before. Cole too - dealing with inner demons that maybe are now surfacing.
Either way, it's a win if you read this book or go back to the beginning and start her world over, which I'm loving doing!
The Hunt is a dark romance between Cole who rescues Pamela from a drug smuggler located in a Mexican jungle camp. Pamela has a complicated emotional past and Cole is obsessed with her but also has problems with relationships. However, they both have a strong attraction to each other. Their story has trust issues, obsession, danger and complex emotions. This is another excellent addition to the Bratva Blood world!

This book has been a wonderful read. The way how it ties in all of the previous books. It’s like watching your favorite streaming show.
Cole and Pam makes the drama in their lives more relatable. Their chemistry is definitely page burning hot.
Like K, I’m looking forward to seeing what’s going to happen next.

I’m actually rating this 3.5 ⭐️ because I just didn’t like Pamela the FMC. Next up in this series is Cole & Pamela’s story. We met Cole in the Mafia Vows series where he worked with Damen & Alesso.
Pamela gets kidnapped by a tribe/cult she’s working with Mexico. When Cole hears he gathers a team and heads there to rescue her. He ends up bringing her to Corfu. Her behavior once she’s extracted is what annoys me…and how she judges everyone once she gets to the compound.
It was great to learn more of Cole’s backstory. One more book to finish the series.
Action pack romance read! It’s like a cat and mouse game between Pamela and Cole, they have great chemistry but the timing is always wrong. But when she finds herself in a dangerous situation, it’s Cole to the rescue and he won’t stop until she is safe. I love that this newest release have characters from the previous book, it added that extra entertainment. An enjoyable storyline with great characters made for a must read.
