I have been a fan of Kelly Jamieson for a long time. It’s a guarantee when this lady combines hockey and romance in a book she scores every time! The conclusion of the Heller Brothers series is bittersweet. These books are one of my favorite hockey themed series. I am sad to see it end, but the final book was amazing and she wrapped it up very nicely.
In Offside, we follow the story of Honey and Matt. Matt plays for the NHL team The Santa Monica Condors and Honey just landed a job (thanks to her dad) as a Programming Coordinator for the charitable foundation of The Condors. Honey has one hell of a bad reputation. She met Matt eight years ago right in the midst of her “party till you drop” days. She has since grown up and gotten her life on track, but the reputation still and will always haunt her. Matt and Honey share a history that did not end well. Neither one was prepared to be thrown into a working situation with the foundation. Matt is just recovering from a season long injury and his concentration needs to be on the game. Honey needs to prove that even though her dad got her this job, she is qualified and able to shine in this new position.
As hard and Honey and Matt try to stick to a professional relationship only, neither one is strong enough to resist the attraction and chemistry that pulls these two together. So the main plot line of the story is developed and we are treated to a lot of sexy heated passion and tension between the two.
We also get to really understand what caused Honey to act out as we follow her heartbreaking journey of redemption. She not only has to prove to herself that she has changed, but she has to show her co-workers, Matt and especially her parents that she is not the same girl. Her backstory with her parents crushed my heart. She overcame so much, and still her mother can’t accept the beautiful daughter she has. My only complaint about the book was, I really wanted a scene where she finally voiced her feelings to her mom. I felt like she proved herself time and time again only to get stomped on by her nasty mother. I’m sure it’s just the bitchy in me, but I really wanted a “screw you, Mom” scene and it never really happened.
With the high profile life these two both lead and the fact that they are in California and surrounded by the press at all times, the conflict of the story is quite predictable throughout most of the book, but it still intrigued me to watch these two overcome so much and finally claim their long overdue happiness.
Whether you are a fan of sports themed romance fan or not, I guarantee this book will satisfy you. It really has the perfect balance of sports and love. Add in some humor, some spicy hot sex, family drama, and hockey team snark, and you are treated to the perfect combination.

Books by author Kelly Jamieson are a must-read for me and I have never been disappointed in anything she has written. I've become a huge fan of her Heller Brothers Hockey series and so sad to see it coming to an end with her last book, Offside which is Matt's story and my favorite one. I was drawn to Matt and Honey's story right from the beginning after learning that there was a past relationship between them that didn't end well and their reaction after seeing each other again. I liked that these two characters were flawed, had to grow up and learn from their mistakes and overcome adversity that made them stronger. I adored Matt who was an all-around nice guy and defended Honey when others didn't give her a chance. Sure, he had a "gut" reaction at first but once he saw she had changed, he did everything he could to spend time with her and get her to "open" up to him because deep down, he still had feelings for her. He was also not afraid to express his feelings about returning to play hockey after recovering from an injury.
Honey had a lot of baggage and a wild past that she had to live down and I felt so bad for her. The author did a great job writing her backstory and making her into a sympathetic and likeable character. You got to see why she acted the way she did when she was younger and how she has matured and deserved to be loved by Matt. I loved these two together, they had great chemistry and sparks flew in and out of the bedroom. They were perfect together and I could not stop reading to see what would happen next especially when an "old" indiscretion came back to haunt them. I loved how outspoken Matt was and how he fought to reassure Honey of his love for her; these scenes just melted my heart and had me swooning.
I loved the ending of this story and getting to see the entire Heller clan one last time. The scenes were heartwarming, emotional and they brought me to tears. Thank you for writing such an amazing series with a wonderful cast of characters that I've come to love.

It had taken years for Honey Holbrook to try and live down her wild and well publicized days as the rebellious child of one of hockey's greats and his otherwise perfect family. All to no avail. She had managed to leave her old life behind, get her degree, stand on her own two feet and not create even a ripple, but still her past mistakes followed her wherever she went. And when she starts her first day in her new job, hopeful to make a good first impression, it is almost immediately squashed again when she is not only told the job is hers as a favor to her father, but the first person she encounters in a meeting is none other than Matt Heller, the one person who had and then threw away her heart eight years ago.
After a devastating neck and head injury, Matt Heller had been on the disabled list for months and although finally skating again, he was not cleared for full contact yet and bored out of his mind. That's why he enjoyed getting involved in these charity projects his team ran, it gave him something worthwhile to do. He was shocked to see Honey Holbrook in that meeting, and not just that, but she was to be the person he would be working with. Remembering their wild fling from years ago that ended on a bitter note, he can't help but notice how different she looks. Still beautiful, but poised and together. Surprisingly after all this time he can still feel the pull she has on him and there is something else about her, a vulnerabillity that he never saw before.
Honey tries to keep her distance from Matt. She isn't really upset with him anymore, she understands why he did what he did, but she also knows she has little resistance when it comes to him. Matt doesn't deserve to be tainted with the ongoing bad reputation that will haunt her forever. He is just about to start playing again and who knows what an association with her would do to his career. But it seems he is able to break through every one of the barriers she throws up, and it feels so good just to be accepted for who she is.
Matt senses the push and pull that goes on in Honey. He can feel her physical responses to him, they don't lie, she wants him, but once her mind gets involved, she starts pulling away. Matt is determined to dig down deep and find out exactly what is going on in her head. Because this time, he is not planning to let her go.

Two people who knew each other at their worst, are able to work through that to the person underneath the behavior. Oh how I wish more folks would take the time to look a little closer like that!!!
Other than that it is wrapped in a sizzling hot romance, there is also a great moral to this story and I bet if we look in our vicinity, we can pick out one or two folks at least, who are easier to judge than they are to know........ Perhaps we should put in some more time.
Living up to expectations she knew she could never meet, that's what Honey gave up on at a young age. The only way for her not to disappear into the woodwork, was to start acting out in order to be 'seen'. Something that dragged on way too long, and half decent parents would have picked up on that sooner rather than later. All kids, especially teens, at some point growing up will act out to draw attention, few will be allowed to take it as far as Honey took it. One of the draw backs of the rich and famous and unfortunately the child paid. There is a strong core there though...... otherwise Honey would have easily succumbed to that way of life, like her contemporaries did. But she pulled out, at first she was forced, but then she turned herself around and re-directed her life completely.
For Matt, the wild days were just that, wild days. Not really rebellious or acting out, just a young guy, away from home for the first time . He was blessed with a strong sense of family, a solid base to rely on. Safety and unconditional love to come home to. Somehow he knew even then, that Honey was in trouble and that he was not the person who would be able to get her out. His accident brought home his need for stability, reliability, both from him to others and for him. So when Honey appeared in his life this time, he was ready for her, ready to show her what unconditional meant.
I adore Kelly Jamieson, some of her books are so much more than they might appear on the surface. HOW TO LOVE was one of those books for me...... OFFSIDE is now another. It has the appearance of a lighthearted romance, but under the surface offers so much emotional insight. And Ms. Jamieson is very talented when it comes to the bedroom!!! She writes the sexiest, hottest, raunchiest, most arousing sex scenes, without ever losing the sensual, erotic feel. I'm telling you.......it's a gift!!

Can I first just say that I'm devastated that this is the end of the AMAZING Heller Brothers! I actually got a little misty when I finished the book at that thought.
Offside is the 5th book in the Heller Brother's Hockey Series focusing on the youngest of the brother's Matt. This book takes off a few years after the 4th book in the series Hat Trick. Matt has been playing in the NHL but is recovering from a injury, so he has been working with the Condors Community Service side. Honey Holbrook has come to temp at the Condors but knows that she faces an uphill battle. She is not only the owners daughter but has a past that rivals Lindsay Lohan or Paris Hiltons. However she wasn't expecting to have to work with Matt Heller. The one person from her past she would rather stay in her past.
For me this is another smash for Kelly Jamieson! I love the sparks that fly between Matt and Honey as well as the emotion that draws you into the story. Kelly makes you love Honey and feel her pain when it could have been easy to dislike her because of her past. This was a great end to a fantastic series.

Offsides is the final story to the Heller Brothers. This is Matt and Honey's story. They knew each other years before but it ended on a sour note. Now she is back, different, not a party girl like she was. Hard for Matt to get past that, but he does. Their story was was quick sexy read. Definitely a fan!

Kelly, Kelly, Kelly you never disappoint with these hockey men. Sweet, loving and heartfelt. Loved it, it even made me cry. I love a strong female lead and a supportive and sweet alpha male. Recommended!

Honey Holbrook is the daughter of former NHL Star and current owner of the California Condors, Steve Holbrook. She was an in the spotlight wild child growing up. Honey was constantly in the tabloids for her behavior.
NHL star Matt Heller is the youngest Heller brother. He is recovering from a traumatizing injury that had him taken off the ice on a stretcher. In his down time, management is having him meet with The Condors Community Foundation, an organization that oversees the team charitable contributions. The last person he expected to see there at a meeting was his ex-fling from eight years ago, the boss’ daughter, Honey Holbrook.
I loved this book. It was emotional and endearing. The characters are dynamic and real. You feel for Honey having to live with the mistakes of her past and having people continually judge her for it. You love Matt for giving her a chance and not caring what people think of him for associating with her.
I’m so sad Matt was the last of the Heller Brothers. I think Kelly Jamieson is going to have to write the next generation of Heller’s story. I mean they do have kids after all. This was such a wonderful series it is sad to see it end. Jamieson definitely ended the series on a high note.

Honey has a wild past, crazy past that gave her the status of a tramp. Now it has come back to bite her in the ass. She has a hard time receiving respect from other people. But we get to understand her reasons for her actions in the past and see her change to become what she is now. She is likable and determined.
Matt was sweet, caring, and alpha. I really liked him but this is a book where I probably liked Honey more. She was more dimensional.
This books was told in third person so you get to see inside both their heads.
Really liked where it was going but it wasn’t a book that had my undivided attention. Overall, still a good book. A little drama at the end, not much angst. Good book.
I took off 0.25 points because I didn't find the epilogue satisfying. It showed more of the other brothers' families not enough of Honey & Matt.
Honey has a wild past, crazy past that gave her the status of a tramp. Now it has come back to bite her in the ass. She has a hard time receiving respect from other people. But we get to understand her reasons for her actions in the past and see her change to become what she is now. She is likable and determined.

Matt was sweet, caring, and alpha. I really liked him but this is a book where I probably liked Honey more. She was more dimensional.
This books was told in third person so you get to see inside both their heads.
Really liked where it was going but it wasn’t a book that had my undivided attention. Overall, still a good book. A little drama at the end, not much angst. Good book.

Another manilicious Heller brother!! Matt had been coasting in his hockey career until he was seriously injured. Now that he's healthy again he wants to prove he's a great player and that California Condor's did a good thing in picking him up. Honey Holbrook's life is also looking up - sort of. The former rich princess party girl is gone. After hitting rock bottom she went to school, got her degree and now has a temporary job with the Condor Foundation. Oh, and she's the team owners daughter and he got her the job and no one wants her there. Oh, and on her first day in walks former boyfriend from her party days, Matt Heller. Matt is just as shocked to see Honey, but wastes no time in trying to pick things back up. I really liked Matt and how confident he was in Honey and his feelings for her. It was a little harder connecting with Honey (I think it was the name that threw me off), but I did really like this book. At first I was really sad that this is the last one, then realized I've read them out of order and still have two more to read. Yay!!!

I just finished reading Kelly Jamieson's OFFSIDE and I enjoyed every minute of the book. I was given an advance copy of this book to write a review. This book had all the elements I love in a book hockey, entertaining story, a hot hockey player and interesting characters. Honey and Matt are both likable characters and easy to connect with. Matt is a tough, alpha male hockey player, who is also sweet and sensitive. Matt and Honey are thrown together again eight years after having a fling that ended badly. Even though they have been apart for eight years, there is still sizzling chemistry between them. This is the fifth installment in the Heller brothers series. Sadly, Matt is the youngest and last Heller brothers and the end of the series. All four of the Heller brothers played in the NHL. Each book in the series is a standalone, but I would recommend reading the books in order.

The story of Matt & Honey is a good one, they have a history together that neither can forget even though it didn't end very well. Years later they run into each other when Honey is hired on begrudgingly by the foundation of the hockey team Matt plays for. Matt tries to get close to Honey again & she tries to run the other way. Things have changed for her, she's not the spoiled rich girl that she once was...she's grown up. She desperately tries to stay away from Matt because she's afraid that her father the team owner will do something to Matt's career if she doesn't. What she doesn't know is that her dad likes Matt. The past & all her demons come out to gang up on her & Matt is fighting to keep her. Very good story I just wish that we would've seen a complete end to this story as we got to see the completion of the other stories in this book. But I would definitely recommend this book & series. It's the first I've read of Kelly Jamieson & I will be looking for more by her.

This book is incredible good. The absolutely best of the series.
There are some hard scenes. There are beautiful scenes. It made me laugh. It made me cry. I never got bored, that's for sure.
This time the characters were magnificent.
I could feel the frustration, the struggle, the determination of Honey.
I fell in love with Matt's braveness, with his disposition to love whoever he wanted not caring what other people thought, with his sweetness, with his sense of humor, with his heart.
I am so glad this book was written. It talks about overcoming your past, of finding yourself, of loving without fear, and of being strong.
Who would I recommend this book?
To all the people who are dealing with past mistakes, to those who fear what people would think. To those who look for someone to love them.
To everyone.

I loved this book! We finally get to know the baby Heller Matt. I really liked Honey and thought they made a great couple.

What made this a 4 star instead of a 5 for me was the epilogue. This is the last book in the series so I wanted to "see" more of the future of Matt & Honey. We get updates on the brothers and thier wives & children. I want to know did or are Matt & Honey getting married. Will they have children? What happens to Honey at work when the year is up? Does her relationship improve with her Father? In my opinion too many unanswered questions.
Kelly does say she will continue to write about hockey so maybe Matt & Honey will make an appearance in a future series and my questions will be answered.

So.... I just finished the final Heller brothers book. At first (my first review) wasn't good at all. I didn't like it, didn't really care for the characters and was disappointed that there was only a small mention of the big brothers and their wives.
Well.... I finished the book and I have a different opinion. I'll give this book 4 stars now instead of only 2. Maybe I just hiit a lull in the book, I don't know, I can't figure out what it is about this last book that I didn't absolutely LOVE it. In any case, Matt Heller and Honey wrap up the series quite nicely with Honey finally meeting the Heller boys and their wives.

Offside was a fabulous ending to an overall fabulous series! We finally get to read about Matt, the fourth Heller hockey brother. He's recovering from a serious hockey injury when he comes in contact with Honey, the owners daughter and a previous love of Matt's. Honey however has a huge party girl reputation which is why she and Matt split the first time. Since their split, she's been to college and trying to repair her reputation. This story is a great one and a truly wonderful ending to this series. I'm sad to see it end. This collection is a must read if you enjoy sports romance books especially hockey romance. Looking forward to other books by this author!

Best of the Heller boys books.
Story was good and I really liked the two characters. And I loved how Matt was so decent with Honey. Both of them had been somewhat wild and he didn't play a double standard.
The ending was weaker than I would have liked
The only thing that I found disappointing was the hockey - kind of inline with the earlier books actually. Very little real hockey. I don't see a player who is returning after such a long long time off and from an almost like threatening injury going straight back into the game and playing such a huge part. He would have been in the minors for a bit I think or eased into the game in the last few mins etc.

I really wanted to love this book, but I really found it difficult. Like with Logan's story, I found it VERY difficult to relate to the female character. Not to mention, this one felt like a repeated story of Logan and his girl (I can't recall her name) Spoiled rich princess, seeking attention does stupid things in her past; she decides that is time to grow up and be responsible. Works for family hockey business, meets hunky hockey player, but feels that her past and crappy family will ruin any relationship she has.
Again I felt I was reading the same story only with different characters.

Ok so I loved Jase and Remi and I absolutely loved Logan and Nicole so I couldn't wait to read what Kelly Jamison in store for baby brother Matt. What a great (and sexy) story! I fell in love with Honey and Matt who are two wonderfully real and likable characters. I've enjoyed this series and have recommended it to many friends looking for a super hot read that also has an interesting plot and characters. This book completely lived up to that! Loved it!

Really enjoyed the book. The 8 year gap seemed right but I was feeling a bit disappointed because the previous books talked more about the other brothers. This one barely touched them. I knew at the end who had kids and how many but only one still played hockey and not even the team.
She made me love the brothers but then didn't let me know how things turned out for them with their careers and such.

out of the whole series, this was my favorite, honey was so cool, and down to earth, and she owned up to everything that she'd done in the past. She's my favorite type of heroine, because she does't make excuses, she moves forward.I loved Matt,he was nice, funny arrogant,ad so sweet. They are of my favorite couples.

I enjoyed matts story. this one didn't feel as rushed as the others. in the future I hope Kelly takes these reviews seriously and takes her time with her stories. this series had so much potential. I enjoyed it and wanted more. I loved the heller boys. I love hockey. keep writing kelly and don't be afraid to add a little more. my four star rating is rated against the first four in the series.

This is the fifth book in the Heller Brothers series. This book too was a roller coaster. At times I thought Matt was mature then he acted not so mature. If you are reading a book with explicit sex scenes then cursing should not be a big deal, but really hockey player or not he uses the F word like most people say: um
Honey, the daughter of a witchy model and a legendary hockey player. Two older bros one a hockey player, the other a pro golfer. Then the daughter that can’t find which hole her peg is to fit into. Needing attention and love and finding it only when clubbing w friends who only hang because she’s got the cash to buy the booze, the drugs and anything else they need. Now she’s cleaned her act up, has a college degree and a job. The problem is the job came from daddy and no one is taking her seriously.
Matt is on the injured list on his hockey team. Working for their charitable arm while waiting to get back on the ice he runs into Honey. Seems they have a past. Slowly Matt breaks Honey’s defenses and they start seeing each other. She really wants it on the QT. Dinner at Burger King works for her. Her partying days are long over and wants nothing to do with that scene again. Sorry, Matt’s constant cursing drove me nuts.

Matt Heller is the youngest of the Heller brothers, and we don't know much about him, so this is the book that we really get to know him. I love a good second chance romance, so this one was really fun.
Matt and Honey had a fling years ago, but it ended badly, but only because Matt was concerned that Honey was partying too much. It ended up being good for her in the end, and now she is trying to turn her life around. I really felt for her, because no one takes her seriously. Especially because she is the "boss's kid." But she was really trying! So I felt for her that everyone just thought she was a joke.

One thing that did bother me though, is that Matt has had menage situations before and he had one with Honey, but he feels shame from it. That's completely minor though. The book itself was a fun read and I loved watching their romance spark. I was so happy that they got their HEA in this one!

Matt Heller currently is on injured reserve as a hockey player. While getting his body ready to play this season, he’s also volunteering his time with the foundation to raise money for charities. At the first team meeting, who walks in but Honey Holbrook. Matt and Honey go way back, as a matter of fact eight years back.
Honey came from wealth and she was a spoiled party girl. Their relationship was so hot that he will never forget it. He was just starting out his hockey career during that time. Before he left, he told her father what she was doing with her life, sort of an intervention. Honey was given an ultimatum by her parents, go to school, get a degree or we cut you off. She did just that and worked her ass off to become someone she could be proud off.
Now that her Dad got her a temporary job in the foundation, the last thing she expected was, not to be taken seriously by the rest of the employees and to have to work with Matt.

I read all five of the series in three days, because I had to work, too, or I probably would have zoomed through them all in one fay!
Ms. Jamieson obviously knows players, hockey players, and if she doesn't, they should get to know her as she makes the not just players, she makes them good guys, and, human.
