ABOUT THE AUTHOR
GL Robinson is the godchild of Georgette Heyer. She writes Regency Romances in a very proper English style with a good dash of humor. As the product of a convent boarding school in the south of England in the 1950's and early 60's, she has a very proper English style herself, which you will be able to tell if you listen to the recordings of the first chapters of her novels on her website: https://romancenovelsbyglrobinson.com, where you can also sign up for a free short story.

She met her American husband in Brussels where she was working at the time the UK joined the European Union (or Common Market, as it was then called). After retiring from a career as a French professor in upstate New York, she happily swapped Existentialism for Romance and since 2018 has written 11 Regency novels. They all feature feisty heroines against a real historical background. She has also begun a contemporary crime trilogy featuring hunky ex-special forces Miles O'Malley. She's in love with him, but don't tell her husband!

Her Regency novels can all be found on:

In which our hero learn life of an adopted cat can be as good as one of a stray’s …

I really Iove Miles and his no-nonsense humor, he takes life as she comes to him, bullets and dead bodies included.
This second addition in this new series, is fun, fast paced, and plays with its readers and characters.
We follows many of the protagonists, and how hazards of life and their very personality landed them this and there.
The irony is the only character with no point of view to share with us is Sally, the woman Miles tried to win in the first book, the real conundrum of this book.

The case is well crafted, with its figures crossing all the others’ lives to finally drop at Miles’ feet, literally drop.
A very diverting read with wits, humor and some very peculiar “central casting” personalities.

[This review includes spoilers]

Ain't Misbehaving is a fast-paced and fun romp. Miles and Sally's chemistry and banter are always enjoyable. I especially enjoyed his 'romantic proposal' at the end--well, it was certainly romantic in his own special way! I'm a sucker for an HEA, so this really appealed to me. I liked the call-backs throughout the text, I thought they were very clever, and I especially liked the reference to the title right at the very end.
The chapters are quite short which keeps this book moving very quickly. I found it well-paced throughout.
My favourite character by far is Hermione. I'm glad she made a reappearance in this book. I enjoyed the first book in the series a lot, but I think that this one is even better. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
I received an ARC for this book, but this review is my honest opinion.

Good Entertainment!
Oh I enjoyed this one even though it was set in a more modern period than I normally read.
It is well written, has a crime for solving, the details and background of which were all brought into view as the story unfolded.
I was able to visualize the characters easily by their descriptions and actions and in the background, Miles works on finding out why Sally is avoiding him.
All in all, a very entertaining and nicely written crime story with a bit of romance.
I read an ARC (Advance Reader Copy) and my voluntary and unbiased review is recorded above.

Snappy crime read with a dash of romance

Another mess for Miles to sort out when city trouble follows young Albie back to Northwood.
A tad more violent than the first book, the plot zips along at a pace as Miles dispenses punches, justice, lives his own crime story and finally wakes up to a few home truths himself.
If you haven’t made his previous acquaintance in the previous book Santa Baby - then do - this read will be the better for it.

*I was given a free audiobook from the author, and I have voluntarily posted this review.*
I enjoyed this audiobook as the story flowed and the prose was well-written; however, the story was fiction. I liked the character of Miles O'Malley from the first book. I was entertained by this subsequent story, but some of what happened in this tale seemed more like a fantasy than a thriller. Thomas E. Burch's narration was good and harmonized well with the story.

Ain’t Misbehaving

This is a great series, almost like a cozy mystery, but with more shooting and criminals. The writing is well done with very few mistakes and the characters are sharply drawn and very realistic in a fantastical way. I love watching the hero, Miles, slowly sort through his emotions and become a better and more rounded man. This series is different than other GL Robinson books, but well worth the read.

I enjoyed this story very much. It kept me reading and intrigued, wondering what was going to happen next. I liked seeing familiar faces from the first book. I enjoyed seeing what happened to Miles after we last saw him in the first book. The mystery/crime was different than the first book. I like seeing the book from Miles's point of view, it adds a different layer to the story. I was interested to see where Miles and Sally's relationship was and how it was going. Looking forward to more stories with Miles and Sally.

Ms. Robinson has a way with a story no matter what genre she writes in.

I was given to read an Advance Reader Copy and my review is voluntary and honest.
