I am so glad I read this book. I learned so much about scrying and the history of it. Some methods of scrying I realized that we have always done. Such as seeing images in the clouds. As children it may seem like an innocent game, but maybe it is really this inner knowledge that this is the natural way of things. This is for a beginner and at the end you are left with a huge amount of information that will guide you with making the right choice of the type of scrying you would like to do. One of the very important takeaways for me is the mental health aspect and how if you are living with a mental illness such as depression, PTSD, anxiety, etc. scrying may not be the safest practice for you. It leaves you vulnerable and open to attack. So do your research. Take precautions, and make sure you learn to protect yourself. This book definitely gives you all the information you need to get you started on the path of scrying. I highly recommend this book.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I have read a number of spiritual and metaphysical books by this author. I wasn't quite thrilled with this particular book. I guess I am a stricter constructionist than the author when it comes to defining what scrying is. She includes things like the Ouija board, using a pendulum, reading tea leaves, and even dream interpretation as scrying. I don't see any of those as being true scrying. Anyway, the author seems very detached from the subject; I would have liked to see a bit more of her experience with scrying incorporated into the book. Instead, it feels like someone's research paper on scrying; there are even references at the end! I thought the beginning of the book could have been better organized and more thorough. For instance, an introductory chapter lists different types of scrying, but only lists three, none of which she actually goes into detail about in the book! In one chapter about a particular type of scrying, she gives interpretations of different symbols or things you might see when doing visual scrying; this information would have been better placed in its own introductory chapter instead of in a particular scrying method’s section. For those interested in trying different types of scrying, including the more traditional ones like looking in a mirror, looking at water, and crystal ball gazing, she does offer simple steps to do those activities. Given how many types of scrying there are—including ones the author says are scrying, but many scryers would disagree with—she could have filled the book with chapters with more different types. However, instead of doing so, a fair portion of the last part of the book is about increasing your psychic abilities. I think that muddles the point of the book; she should have kept it to scrying! All in all, not terribly impressed by this particular book.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
The book on Scrying and the other Divinations is very interesting. The book will be helpful to anyone who wants to develop their psychic skills. The information and exercises are easy to understand and put into everyday practice.
It is a good book to start learning on the subject, though it really drifts to other subject at the last couple or so chapters which kind of delutes and detracts from the intented subject matter of this book.
