Forged in Rain

Rate this book
A sheltered teen. A deadly rivalry. No second chances.
Rain Flaherty thirsted for real-world experiences. Instead, she became embroiled in a world she doesn’t understand, where every turn leads further into a dangerous game. One in which her cousin Iris is pulling the strings, despite her skeevy uncle being gone.

Now, the boy she gave her heart to has been tasked with keeping her close even though he stomped on it with a careless smile. She’s stuck between Cyn and a supposed dead guy, surrounded by half-truths and lies.

Any misstep could be paid for in more than just her blood. Can Rain escape the trap she’s caught in, or is she doomed to Cynster’s enthrallment?

Forged in Rain is the second book in The Made Series of high school bully romances. If you like innocent heroines and dark twists and turns, then you’ll adore Nina Lincoln’s steamy angst.

Hi! I’m Nina. I love to read. Obsessively. No joke. Just ask my husband. I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. Pursued a graduate degree in Forensic Psychology in the great NYC and settled in Phoenix.

I’m an avid Elvis Presley fan, a Tudor history aficionado (or at least I like to think so), and a zombie/end of the world junkie, who happens to also be a sucker for a happy ending! Yes, I see the contradiction.

On those rare occasions when I am not engrossed in a good book, or writing my own, I can be found cuddled up to my furry companions (the dogs not my husband) and relaxing with my best friend (my husband not the dogs).

I love books across all genres and can’t seem to keep myself in a single lane when I create my own stories, so if it seems as though I can’t make up my mind, it’s because I can’t. Heh.

Forged in Rain is the second book in The Made Series! It continues off right where we left off in the first book. Get ready for all the twists and turns, the angst, the steam, the drama, the mystery, the suspense, THE SUSPENSE, the darkness, the raw, real things happening in front of your very eyes! You will be constantly on edge waiting for the bomb to explode with this one. This was very well written, like everything just flows together so effortlessly beautiful. You know what I mean?

Cyn and Rain's relationship continues to unfold in this book, and unfortunately due to things Iris has caused, they end up taking one step forward and 3 steps backward which takes some time to heal from, or like fix I mean. It doesn't help either that she is surrounded in a completely new world and has no idea what to expect anymore as things progressively get more and more dangerous, with Iris leading the way towards the depths of Hell for both her and Rain.

After what happened with her uncle, and all the things they had to brainstorm and figure out a way to get away from him... he goes missing and nobody has any idea where is he or if he is even alive. As if that wasn't enough information to put Rain on edge, Iris's constant need to sabotage Rain and her relationship with Cyn puts a drastic toll on her as well... trying to survive the wrath of Iris and figure out what all she plans to do while also trying to convince Cyn that things aren't as they seem and to just trust him.... leaves a very confused, fragile, scared yet strong Rain.

Cyn eventually realizes that Rain had to make certain choices to survive, and tries to fix the damage he caused, in his own way. Rain slowly realizes to stop denying her instincts and to just trust them, when they are telling her to trust Cyn, she admits things to him and together they have a long, long way to survive the wrath of those around them threatening to destroy their relationship and their loved ones. Lots of tragic events occurred in this book, which made me cry so much.. so much grief in this book, as if the heartbreak wasn't enough suffering UGHHHH my feelings were all over the place here, as long as you remember there is light at the end of the tunnel though, you'll be good. :)

Iris is a whole different story... she truly just keeps becoming unrecognizable in not just my eye's by everyone's eyes. Like Rain and the boys. Her choices keep dragging everyone to Hell and as if she wasn't enough, now her mom is involved too threatening to bring down Cyn and Rain more than anyone. Will Rain be able to be strong enough to fight basically her whole family, for her relationship with Cyn, the boys, and their loved ones?

I love Cyn and Rain so much, all the pain and suffering between those two were worth it in the end, they were most definitely made for each other. I love the rest of the boys too, they are all the perfect squad now, Rainy and the boys. :) I know the next book is Jig's book, but I am really hoping we get another book(s) on Rain and Cyn though at some point because it definitely did not feel like the end in this book, it felt like a happily for now, if that makes sense. Soooo I am crossing my fingers that we will get more of them, especially considering there are so many unanswered questions and room for them to grow to be the best since it kinda ends right when things are good for them. Ahh one can hope, crossing my fingers! That being said, I AM SO SO EXCITED FOR JIG'S BOOK(S)!!!!! Also can't wait for Bastion's book(s)... still having hope that he can heal Iris and put her pieces back together. Love my group so much!! Thanks for another FANTASTIC read Nina! This deserves all the stars and more!

The first part was challenging for the reader because of the "romantic" content, mainly the nature of male/female relationships based on toxic masculinity and male domination.
The second part is much more refined regarding Rain and Cyn's interactions. She's a spitfire and he shows some ability to show emotions, their romance is rocky but transforms into mutual understanding.

The main plot of these books leaves much to improve and is ridiculous at times.
It's rare to find a book with a plot so sketchy, ambiguous, inconsistent, contradictive, and murky, which makes it infuriating to read.
All the parties involved in this story (on the mafia side) consistently demand something from a clueless schoolgirl who doesn't have a car, her own phone, or a gun.
Everybody repeatedly avoids giving complete explanations for their demands and actions by saying stupid quotes such as "you don't need to know" or other round slogans like this which really is a cover for big gaps in the whole concept of these books.
Some hints and clues are good at the beginning but as the plot progresses there must be an explanation somewhere otherwise the whole thing is pointless and utterly boring.

The whole mess doesn't tempt you to continue reading further parts.

I'm not sure where to start. This is one of the best series I've ever read. The twists and turns, the steam, the suspense....You know when you watch a movie and you're on the edge of your seat? How every time something happens your yelling at the television, "Oh no! Big mistake! Don't do that." Or, "Turn around before it's too late. Think girl! What are you doing?" Yep, that's it in a nutshell. This was so incredibly well written, so addictive, so hot and just such a phenomenal reading experience. I can't even do it justice or put it into words for this review. All I can say is that this is a series that you don't want to miss. I am fairly new to this author, but each book of hers I've read has seriously blown my mind. I cannot wait to see what is next. Five stars on Amazon. But ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ plus, plus, plus book lover stars.

What!? So Disappointed!

So I am lumping Cyn's and Rain's books together because they should have been one action packed book instead of two. What the what did I just read? Nothing made sense, it was school, party, bad guys, mob, fall asleep in the car, again, and huffing and chuffing, two phrases overused. This book made no sense, it was makeup, breakup, man whore, everyone is picking on me. Let's be honest, if I found pictures with, girls, babies, people out to get me, I would have spread that around like manure in a farmers field. The only good thing was the guys relationships. Also book fours cover was used in a paranormal romance a few years ago. Disappointed!

Well my opinion is still the same as the first book, it's not bad, but it's not like I'm nervous to know how it goes on and there were quite a few moments that made me want to stop reading, but since I was already halfway through I decided to finish it, but I was a little disappointed because I thought it would improve, but it went the same way as the first
