I read it at Jafet Library of the American University of Beirut AUB, the university which Etel hold its honoring medal. The novel at the time considered controversial especially it's written by a christian woman amid the Lebanese civil war. The author it self is controversial not only because its bisexuality but she has Ottoman-Syrian origins and lived and raised in Lebanon.
