English title: Lord, Your Immortal Plant Has Slipped Away Again
At its core, this is a palace drama—complete with the usual power struggles, a suspicious Emperor, and corrupt officials. But into this familiar mix, we get a transmigrator who’s now an immortal plant and a reborn prince determined to rewrite his fate.
The first half of the story is quite entertaining, with Ye Zi as an adorable little plant constantly trying to escape. We see their romance gradually unfold alongside glimpses into their pasts.
The latter half, however, gets a bit dull. The romance starts feeling repetitive, relying on clichés like jealousy and “bullying” (aka intense sex that leaves the shou barely functional). The gong, in classic protecc mode, keeps the shou out of his political schemes, which mostly involve avoiding conflicts—so nothing too thrilling there, either.
A minor gripe: the author’s notes. They spoil the plot unnecessarily. While it’s nothing major, I absolutely hate when this happens—it just takes away from the experience.
The characters are fine, the plot is fine. I liked the reincarnation and second chance aspect but the overall story is a bit average for my taste. There are quite a few misunderstandings and deliberately hiding secrets between the MC and the ML and that's the main driving force of their conflicts.
The ML is so patient with the MC, despite the MC having to go back on his promises a few times. He gets angry especially when it involves the MC's health but he's good at staying calm and his heart softens easily for the MC. The MC also tends to decide on doing something without talking it out first with the ML even if involved their relationship. I liked how sincere his feelings is about the ML but sometimes his 'selflessness' to sacrifice his own happiness for the ML is frustrating, especially when it's not really what the ML wants. That last part when the MC agrees to the 'peaceful separation'. I know he means well, he just wanted the ML to inherit the throne and that's not happening if the ML's lover is a man who can't provide an heir, but come on, without even telling the other person in the relationship? The MC's decisions sometimes rubbed me off the wrong way.
Overall, this is still an enjoyable quick read. Nothing really stands out but enough to pass the time.
This story is quite nice and relaxing, with a humor note and mystery.
I’m happy with hot the story paced and plot developed. I like main couple, though my heart aches for their experiences at some points of the story. The relationship are good, with very comical moments at the beginning.
I like the world build and other side couples. It is nice to know that everyone had an ending they deserve.
Mystery part of the plot was nice too. I’m not a big fan of how it was, but this setting is acceptable for me.
Closer to the end of the book - plot was a bit rushed. The ending itself was what I’ve been expecting though the whole book, but it’s fine. No harm done. I also loved the Extras, as they are the real ending of the story. Be aware of missing it.
I can recommend this novel if you would like to read something with plot, but not brain hurting one, heartwarming relationships and a bit of humor. Relaxing read worth the time.
