Heather must face her past before she can look to the future.
Will Neil still be there for her?

Neil
Neil is kind and fun and sexy and all that is good in the world.

He wants her.
Maybe they can be friends. Maybe add a few benefits.
Or maybe he can let go of his past and convince her to let him all the way in.
There is trouble at Open Skies though.
The threat eventually hits too close to home for Heather, but Neil’s not going anywhere.
He wants her to stay and let him shoulder some of the burden.

Heather swore off any type of romantic relationship with men. After having an abusive father and abusive romantic relationships, She promised herself she would not let her guard or her heart fall for another man.

Neil had always found Heather attractive, but knew there wasn't something that wouldn't let her give him a chance. Their tightknit group of friends were all paired up except Heather and Neil. He wasn't going to give up without a fight.

Enjoy book 6 of The Open Skies series. This book is is a quick read full of friendships, loyal alphas, lust, and romance.

For someone who had experienced abuse, Heather was surprisingly unsympathetic to other victims or survivors. Especially since she had apparently had lots of therapy. She referred to her mother, who is in an abusive marriage, as being 'pathetically weak' and 'stupid' for not leaving. And then for a long period of time Heather overheard the woman next door being verbally and physically abused by her partner; but, she did nothing until it was too late. I understand that it's a very complex issue and there is concern about making a situation worse, but Heather's main concern was about how it was impacting her sleep.

Heather does eventually find some empathy for her mother and work on that relationship but her attitudes for the majority of the book made it hard for me to like her.

At this point in the series all the books look very similar and I'm tired of all the personal drama and am also wondering how this airline is still in business.

Jetway is a read that goes down easy. It’s as straightforward as the inevitable coupling that Heather and Neil have been moving towards for years. All of their friends are married or in relationships, and everyone would love for them to get together as well. And they do enjoy one another’s company. But both of them have secrets, and it’s tough for them to open up the way a true relationship demands.

In many ways, Jetway is really Heather’s story. She’s endured an abusive childhood, and it’s shaped her worldview and the way she approaches being with someone romantically in drastic ways. Neil also has issues, but they’re much easier for him to overcome when the possibility of being with Heather arises.

Frankly, Neil is a little too perfect—he does everything to help Heather exactly as you’d want someone to. That’s a large part of the reason why this story rests on Heather and her development as a person. I would have liked to see a bit more weakness on the part of Neil, but then again, a guy as great as him is hard to resist.

Yet again, there are strange things going on with Open Skies airline (where all the women in this series work), and I loved that Jameson straight-out addressed that in this book. It’s just a bit much to believe in all the bad things happening at Open Skies; frankly put, I couldn’t imagine why anyone would want to fly on this airline after all the bad news they’ve had! So while this strains credulity, I did like Jameson’s acknowledgement of that.

Jetway is a comfort food of a read. And that’s not a bad thing. It’s great to know you’re going to get something you enjoy in a book like this. It’s a solid end to the Open Skies series—and yes, I’m glad nothing else can go wrong at that airline anymore!

Heather is tired but nothing would prevent her from being Kaley's 1st Birthday party. She arrived early to help with the decorations as did Neil. Everyone has been hoping these two would get together, but Heather holds back. She's always made bad choices when it comes to men and she's afraid Neil will turn out the same.

Neil comes up with a plan when he finds it's her loud and abusive neighbor that's causing her to lose sleep. He asks her to house sit while he's away on a project. He wants to get to know her and hopefully make some headway past her barriers.

Heather manages to catch up on sleep and also meets Neil's sister while house-sitting. She also manages to admit she feels something for him, not that she'd be able to act on it.

When Neil finishes his job he catches an early flight home. He wants more time with her.

A kiss, but nothing more, yet the beginning of hopefully a relationship.

It's enough that when Heather's neighbors escalate, he's the one she calls.

Holy moly this book! I truly didn't know what was going to happen or when!

Another fabulous read by Becca Jameson, the sixth book in the Open Skies series, "Jetway." I could not put this book down until i completed the book. I absolutely loved reading this book. It brought many feelings for what happened in Heather's life from her younger years to adult years. She suffered emotional abuse that she decided she doesn't trust men to date. When she found out what happened with Neil's past relationship she found someone who understands her. Then she lost her apartment to a fire. She heard her neighbor fighting with his girlfriend and heard he had a knife. Next thing she knows there is a fire. Neil came to be there for her. There is a passion between these two but can Heather move on from her experiences from her father to have a relationship with someone who is falling for each other. I believe as a reader you should find out. I highly recommend this book.

I was given an advanced reader copy this book for my honest review.

This is the latest book in the Open Skies series and like all of the others can be read as a standalone. Neil and Heather are the last singles left in a large group of friends, so of course all of their friends want them to get together. However, both of them are dealing with abusive backgrounds which doesn't always make for an easy start to any relationship. I really liked that this story included an example of a relationship that is not the obvious abusive type. It just goes to show that no-one knows what goes on behind closed doors and that abuse always affects people, no matter how 'put together' they may seem. Now, having said all of that, I didn't really feel the connection between the characters in the initial stages of their relationship. Thankfully, the second half more than made up for it.

Neil and Heather are the last two in the group who are single and everyone is trying to hook them up. Heather can't and won't commit to a relationship due to her past with an abusive father and with her past dating record with guys. Neil has ghosts of his own and won't let a woman get close after his ex wife. But when Heather's life goes south Neil is there for her even if only as a friend. But as time goes on he would like more. There's a attraction between them if they would just let them self's have a chance at a future. Can they get over their past and Heather see that she is worth something? I guess you have to face the past to look forward to the future even when you don't think your worth it. I also enjoyed seeing the other friends and how there lives were going.

another great addition

Another brilliant instalment of the series

Heather has lead an independent life. Wanting to carve her own path and steer away from past mistakes she has sworn off relationships and men.
Neil also has his own baggage and reasons for not wanting a relationship. When they both realise there is something there between them Neil takes the step to move on but heather finds it a lot more difficult.

This was very good and whilst not exactly as suspenseful as the other books it touched on some really good themes that’s aren’t quite commonplace. An abused male was a great thing to bring to the forefront and draw awareness to.
I loved how Neil was so willing to take the chance and how patient he was with heather. What a great couple.

lovely wrap up

Another good read in this series, Heather and Neil are the last couple in the group to give in to the inevitable.

Due to her upbringing Heather struggles with relationships, not really knowing how to let herself be loved. Neil on the other hand comes from a very loving family and wants that for himself. He falls hard for Heather and, seeing her reluctance, works hard to get her comfortable with them as good friends before they move forward to more.

I loved the interactions with Neil’s family and how gentle he was with her despite her pushing back hard at times.

The airline issues continue into this book, with Neil having to come to the rescue of Heather towards the end which further demonstrates to her how he feels.

In the last of the Open Skies series, Jetway, Becca Jameson does a masterful job of exploring emotional abuse and its long-term effects on the survivors. Heather and Neil are kindred spirits without realizing it. She is unequivocal in her belief that she is better off alone, relying on no one or answering to no one. For his part, Neil plays it perfectly. He neither pushes her nor judges her decisions because he absolutely understands where she's coming from. Instead he lets her initiate each new step after giving her options. This is a deeply emotional love story that will touch your heart in all the best ways.

The last two singles... Heather and Neil. Of course their friends want to set them up, want them happy, but what will it take for them to have an HEA? They both have pasts, pasts that include abuse. From father, to boyfriends, even an ex wife. They both have a lot to dig through in order to trust and open their heart up to love again. In the middle of them finding love, crud hits the fan... can they come out on the other side? Well there is an HEA so we know the answer to that but the journey to that point is exciting and full of the unknown.

Let me tell you! I absolutely adored Heather and Neil's story! Two different worlds, and Neil wants Heather in his!

She is so closed. So distant. Can he break down any portion of the high walls she's built!

Neil is so gosh darn sweet. He absolutely melted me!

Ms. Jameson knows how to steal your heart!

For me, this story was un-put-down-able! I enjoyed each and every minute! I loved this one so much, I've put it on my TBRx2!

The beginning of the book was brilliant, raising awareness about domestic violence and how both men and women can be victims of it.
However I’m fed up with books ending with kids and marriage, a happy ever after doesn’t have to end with both of them it can just end with a happy healthy relationship, and how heather sounded when she found out initially suggests she wasn’t sure she wanted it.

This is the last book in the series and I’ve enjoyed them all. This book is about Neil and Heather. They have trust issues but when they come together they become friends and then it comes to them and they fall for each other. Their are issues in all relationships but together they can overcome them and find their happily ever after! I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Scared to love

Heather has an abusive past. First her father, then her exes. She's scared to believe she can have a normal happy future. Neil is kind and patient. Some romance, some heat, and a little danger.

A lovely story to conclude the series.

Self esteem is a major player in this story, well researched and addressed.

A good story.
