Did you know that dinosaurs discovered hamburgers? It's true! Go on a journey with Scout and join in on the adventure of THE dinosaur who discovered hamburgers! A great bedtime story to keep your child entertained!
In this lovely story dinosaurs fine dine because they are foodies. They have it all even sushi. But there’s just one problem a little Dino wants something new. So he goes on adventure to find the perfect bite. The question is what’s more perfect then a burger like a real burger with the works. Of course he finds it and goes on adventure like no ones ever dared and finds a hamburger.
It’s flavorful, unique and an instant hit. My son absolutely adored this book and asked for it to be read twice.
Very cute illustrations but the story is beyond silly.
THE DINOSAUR WHO DISCOVERED HAMBURGERS is a picture book for young readers that has an absurd story: Scout, an adventurous dinosaur, is on a search and find mission, looking for something new and unique for his next meal. As the title suggests, he discovers hamburgers, traversing various geographical locations and soliciting the assistance of Dr. Ham Burger the 12th.
OK, so that in itself is silly but not so bad in a kids book. What goes too far is the complete lack of reality for how food is sourced. Because parents or teachers can still query non-readers and talk about where food comes from and how it’s grown or made, I rated the book 3 stars. It is bright, colorful and cute and very small kids will engage with the illustrations. Four and five year olds will know much of the information is “not right”, as my friend’s granddaughter declared.
Okay, now this one I bought for my Dino loving 6 year old. The pictures are vibrant and creative. The story is humorous. I think it's a really good fit for both children and adults alike. Legitimately laughed out loud with the tabloid starburst that says (don't quote me, I might be off) "biggest thing since that astroid!" 😂
Yes, some of it's a little corny. It's about a foodie dinosaur that journeys into uncharted territory and finds all the components to make a hamburger, after all. And, I wondered when he came out of the woods about the missed opportunities with leafy lettuce, but don't worry Adisan has your back and takes you to meet Dr. Ham and everything falls into place.
I read this on Prime first for free, and honestly hands down love it. Haven't stopped recommending it since. 🙌🏻
Scout the dinosaur is a foodie on the hunt for new foods to try. He searches far and wide for his next great meal.
You had me on the concept of showing kids how enjoyable it is to try new foods. I loved the diversity of the foods initially shown.
I also loved the part about Scout trying different combinations to make his new sandwich. It exemplified experimentation and imagination for the children.
Then you lost me with buns growing on trees, ketchup and mustard rivers, bacon bushes and lettuce created in a lab.
As an agricultural scientist in real life, I know how many children and adults don’t understand where their food comes from. Reading something like this literally makes me cringe. Not every children’s book has to include a moral or lesson, but gosh, this one just perpetuates confusion.
Grown ups, as you read this book to your littles, I challenge you to ask them questions throughout. Where do they think buns really come from? Or ketchup? Bacon? Burgers? Lettuce? Make sure to point out the real farm sources for all the foods mentioned. If you aren’t sure yourself, look it up together.
This isn’t a bad story and it can be a great jumping off point for conversations about the foods we like, where they come from and new foods we want to try.
Those who have read my blog know how much I love dinosaurs! I am crazy about them. Well, maybe not the feathers, haha. But when I saw this book with THAT cover and THAT title. I had to try it out. It sounded hilarious and right up my alley~
First up, love how the dinosaurs were foodies. Haha, I had totally not expected that one. I was expecting these dinosaurs to just live outside in the wild and have fun adventures and THEN someone discovers a food item that radically changes everything. But instead the dinosaurs love food already and even go to restaurants and fast-food places, and then there is a dinosaur, named Scout, who just feels like something is missing. I don’t know dude, but just chicken nuggets and pizza is good enough for me. I am a simple girl. XD
I loved following Scout on his exciting adventure to find that item that he felt was missing from his life! Indiana Jurassic Jones, here to find the hamburgers from the title. He goes through treacherous jungle, hot desserts, big mountains, and more! Until he comes across a very special forest, and excuse me, did anyone ever figure out how to step into books? Because, even with my stomach a bit upset from the heat, I still want to visit this yummilicious forest. Yum yum. And what he finds next? A bit too easy in my eyes, I mean I would rather have seen him travel just a bit more so it wouldn’t be too easy/obvious, but I was still there for it. I mean pickle flowers? Rivers full of condiments? YAS.
Plus, the story doesn’t end just with him finding several delicious ingredients. Oh no! Now he has to figure it out and I just had so much fun seeing him try all sorts of combos and I wish I could have helped him out! Thankfully, he also has some help and I had fun seeing other dinosaurs as well! And after all was done, I just wanted a bite of that deliciousness. That hamburger is so big and yum. I probably won’t be able to eat for days after that. Haha.
The ending made me smile! I loved how the dish became a hit and how everyone was happy. Loved seeing the commercials and a bit of the movie!
The art was really fun, I loved the style. It was very playful and colourful. And I liked how the dinosaurs were drawn.
All in all, if you love food and dinosaurs then this is the book for you!
Scout decides that there is something missing for foodie dinosaurs, so he goes out to discover what it is. He climbs, goes through the desert, finds obscure plants, discovers new rivers, and takes it all home with him. He puts together what he thinks is the missing food only to discover it still is not quite right. So he goes to see Dr. Ham, the smartest dinosaur in town. Dr. Ham and his staff work on improvements and together they come up with the perfect food. What is it?
I loved this book! Scout is so adorable. I laughed out loud through the whole story. Scout is climbing, going through the desert, finding the plants and rivers that will help him create the perfect food. The story is adorable. The drawings make the book. This is perfect for your 2-6 years olds. They will laugh as Scout takes them on his adventure.
An adorable book, with an wonderful art style. I was smiling with the fact they generated vegetables in a lab and found the hamburger patties and bacon on trees lol.
(Plus the 6/6 velociraptor claws got me too).
I think any child would love this book, especially if said child loves hamburgers and dinosaurs.
5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Almost makes you hungry reading about the dinosaur who discovered hamburgers. Scout apparently is a foodie like most dinosaurs and feels there must be something more than pizza or chicken nuggets. He sets off on an arduous search for the best ingredients to create his signature dish. Leaving no stone unturned, embarking on a hazardous adventure he finds basic elements for a new culinary delight.
I appreciated the repetitive nature of the trek and the various uses for the items in his rucksack as he finds interestingly new tastes and samples things along the way.
I liked that he sought help and expertise from others well qualified in this process.
From a reading perspective my grandchildren warmed to Scout and his adventure. The illustrations add to the story, bright and colourful and show the effort Scout endures on his food quest.
The result is a classic hamburger which is just wonderful as many would argue about what makes the best burger. This will be an added dimension to this shared story. Do you want onions? Not sure I want bacon, can I have cheese instead?
My favourite ones are those loaded with flavour and an assault on your taste buds but the black and blue was always the best.
Scout the T-Rex and his dinosaur friends all love great food! From nuggets to sushi, these dino pals enjoy it all. But Scout can't help but feel that a dish is still missing. Join Scout as he goes on an epic adventure to discover the greatest food of all time! This book is amazing. It's lighthearted and fun, and I love that the story takes place in a dino world. These guys have dino cities, dino taxis, and of course, dino restaurants. Scout is one determined guy, and nothing stands in the way of his quest to find the best food ever. The story comes to a perfect conclusion, and I loved the silly explanations and the colorful illustrations. It's crazy and fun, and the whole book is like an awesome Saturday afternoon with your dad or big brother. Suitable for ages 6 and up, this zany tale of a Dino's mission is a great choice for reading together. Pure fun with awesome art to match, this is one Jurassic tale you won't want to miss!
The story is about a dinosaur named scout who liked being a dinosaur and scout tells the perks of being a dinosaur and that they like going out to eat but he goes to find a great dish and he packs a lot of things and search's a lot of places through mountains and deserts and swamps and scout was about to go home when he found a forest full of bread, so he takes some and goes to a valley with pickle flowers and gets some and finds a river of mustard and takes some and finds bushes of bacon and patty so he heads home and he makes a burger and he goes to a scientist to see what else to put on it and they come up with lettuce, tomatoes , onions and they make it a dish that everyone liked. I thought that this story was really cute and that the illustrations were really great, and the students would like this story because of the dinosaurs.
It was a great story and kind of weird I love how that the dinosaur made it's own burger ,aka, discovered it's own burger. Just wow it help me get tired to go to sleep. I hope this will be that most popular story ever. . . o. Love bryce
Scout is a dinosaur, and dinosaurs are awesome. They love good food, but Scout is sure something is missing. He goes on a quest to find the perfect food, and after many obstacles, including mountains, bread forests, scientific laboratories, and rivers of ketchup, he finally finds the perfect food: hamburgers.
This is an extremely silly story with random elements that almost defy comprehension, but it made me smile, so it's OK. The plot was well organized and the characters fun to read.
The Dinosaur who Discovered Hamburgers by Adisan Books was about a dinosaur named Scout who discovered hamburgers. Scout found the ingredients, determined the order, named them, and made them popular. I thought this book had some great illustrations and would hook young students’ attention. I would use this book as a suggestion to students in my classroom to encourage them to read. I think students would find books like this very interesting and entertaining.
My great granddaughter who is five, loved this story!
Very great book for my five-year old great granddaughter. This introduced her to dinosaurs. This also taught her new words. Types of dinosaurs, types of food, and the concept of finding food. Then, she learned the process of naming the food they needed to invent in their lab! Patricia
This book is a delightful blend of humor and enjoyment. I absolutely loved the creative storytelling that kept me engaged from start to finish. The illustrations are stunning, bursting with color and detail, and they perfectly complement the whimsical narrative, making the entire reading experience incredibly enjoyable.
I loved this book and know that it will be a hit with the Grandchildren. It's different, it's funny, silly, colourful and hopefully will encourage children to add some of those healthy ingredients to their hamburgers as they read about dinosaurs finding the perfect 'dish'.
This is a cute illustrated book on hamburgers. The story of hamburgers and it has got a good story line. Comes with a twist where veggies are made in labs and bread flowers in forest.
This is a cute book showing a dinosaur finding ingredients to make a hamburger. I would recommend after reading that you discuss where food actually comes from. Kids can take things very literally and not know the difference between real and make believe.
I think there could be a fun scavenger hunt to go along with this book to maybe get a picky child to try something new or maybe a child who just loves burgers/food could make their own perfect meal after reading it.
This was a cute little kids book I read to my niece who is age 6. She found it funny and said it made her smile because the dinosaur was on such a big mission. She loved the colors in the book and thought that the illustrations were spectacular. She also liked it because she likes hamburgers.
Read this book and then go in the kitchen with your little one and make a hamburger together. This can be a great teaching aid and will open your child up for conversation and learning!
This book was a great read! Who knew dinosaurs invented hamburgers. Plus, this was a great and short book with 30 minutes left of the year to reach my goal of 100 books!
The graphic images were great and well done. Great storyline. Enjoyed it.
Inventive, simple, and fun. Especially if you like hamburgers and dinosaurs. Combined the two for an interesting adventure for a little t-rex looking for something new. Enjoyed the little references in the illustrations.
