Zach reluctantly leaves his creature comforts and hookup opportunities back in Seattle to help his grandma recover from an injury in small-town Oregon. When a guy reaches out on Grindr, he's desperate enough for a distraction that he puts up with the man's terrible sports innuendos. Zach never expected that an arranged quickie could lead to meeting someone worth keeping around.
Good Catch is a low angst (and high heat) short story about mistaken identity, terrible puns, and finding someone in the last place you expected to.
Lee Blair is a queer author from Oregon who writes low angst, funny, M/M contemporary romance. She's constantly amused by the antics of her two ginger cats, considers daydreaming about future trips to Scotland a part-time job, and is obsessed with Schitt's Creek to an alarming degree.
The good + Both of them just going for it + The mutual attraction + The open affection afterwards + Their plan to mess with Zach's family
The neutral o I found Justin's stance a little harder to believe. That was a bit too "easy" somehow, but I like his enthusiasm
The bad - Zach was seriously going to hook up with 2ballz1bat? That conversation was the worst thing I've ever read and I'd expect anyone to rather run the other way than have sex after that
This chance encounter was both intimate and very affectionate. I really liked their instant connection. And I hate meddling families in books, so this middle finger was just the icing on the cake. Would recommend.
Zach is taking care of his grandmother who broke her hip and needs a Grindr hook-up before he goes crazy. His hook-up says to meet him at the park. He goes to the park where he meets his supposed hook-up only to find it is a case of mistaken identity on both sides as well as coincidences.
I enjoyed this short read. I liked Zach and Justin. They are hot together. I liked that they did eventually talk. Their talk was humorous.
Talk about a meet cute! Whew, it was hot, and amusing. Well written and I liked the short story length. Justin was a hometown hottie and Zach with his snarky internal monologues reminded me of David from ‘Schitt’s Creek’. I would read more about these characters.
Was a really cute, quick read. We barely see his grandma and I want more! She seemed like a firecracker and I like her matchmaking skills. What a funny situation to tell people about when they ask how you met!
This novella was equal parts funny and sexy. The mix up idea was so clever. I love how they were both secretly “this is strange” but just went with it.
A very short but hilarious story, I can't even say one thing about it without giving things away, go read it, it's fun. I'm off to look at this authors other works
