Rate this book
A sexy jet-setting player meets a feisty independent South Asian woman in this steamy contemporary interracial romance. What happens when pure attraction collides with family responsibility?

After having written off love, Simran Khan is vacationing in London looking for no-strings-attached fun. It’s not long before she succumbs to the mysterious hunk with an intense, ice-blue stare while club-hopping with friends. After a night full of surprises with global playboy, Marcus Lehigh (and sampling his reputable talents between the sheets), she realizes this could be more than just a fling, but major doubts come into play … little does she know he might feel the same way.
Preferring to keep interactions with women purely physical—and because his jet-setting lifestyle makes it easy to be that player—Marcus Lehigh favors the single life. A not-so-traditional past also makes it hard for him to trust. Something about Simran hooks him after one night, though. A luscious beauty with brains, some attitude, and an unexpected flippancy for his luxurious life has him wanting more than the usual down and dirty fling. When she leaves for NYC, he follows, intrigued by what she has to offer.

From London to NYC, their relationship collides headfirst with Marcus’ notorious player lifestyle and Simran’s strong South Asian roots. Will Simran accept his former life riddled with ugly scandals? Can Marcus compete with her family’s traditional expectations and ingrained cultural heritage?
When all is said and done, life-altering events put their trust to the test. Is love enough to conquer all?

Khushi T. Saha is a notorious daydreamer. And ask anyone close to her and they’ll tell you she’s a positive, mushy person, too. Enter in ‘writing romance novels’: what began as self-care to overcome personal trauma, ended up evolving into something much more fulfilling. Bringing stories of angst, personal growth, and passion (the steamier the better!) with some snarky humor to romantics all around has become a hunger she can’t seem to satiate😊. In fact, once she’s done with a story, there’s already another one a-brewin'.
And because she’s a first-generation Bangladeshi—born and raised in the US—the connection to the motherland is fierce. You’ll find South Asian nuances/representation purposely sprinkled throughout her novels.
When she's not writing, she's managing her craft business, obsessed with gardening in the spring and summer months, running around with her boys, and binge-watching murder shows/podcasts.

Passions Liberation is a interracial romance featuring Simran and Marcus. As someone of South Asian descent I found this book relatable. Watching Simran struggle with her duty towards her family and her happiness broke my heart. I absolutely loved that the heroine was wealthy in her own right and was a strong character who could hold her own.

The book is spicy and I love reading diverse books especially when the main character is someone I relate to a lot.

UNPUTDOWNABLE

“Just one more chapter” became my mantra while reading this beautiful debut, finishing the entire novel in two days. The books starts out with a shot — we see the couple after everything goes wrong, dropping into their pain before going back and putting the puzzle pieces together to see how they fall in lust, then in love.

The globetrotting story crosses from New York City to London and back again, with lush locations described in enviable detail.

Music plays a theme throughout the novel, and I wish the author would put out a Spotify playlist with all the music mentioned; it would definitely be hot!

The novels puts a new spin on the billionaire playboy trope, with a heroine who is successful in her own right and not impressed by his wealth and status. You know that she is falling for him, not his wealth, and he is wild for her. She takes control, and it’s a nice change to see the billionaire ceding control.

Saha directly confronts the microaggressions faced by Desi-Americans and the challenges of understanding race in interracial relationships. Romance is in need of more diverse heroines, and Saha presents Simran and her cultural identity as a window for the reader into a different culture and world, while addressing the difficulty of living across two cultures.

PROS: I’m a big fan of increased representation in romance, and this felt authentic and beautiful.

CONS: It’s a cliff-hanger! I was grateful to have the second book downloaded and ready to read.

Heat level: SPICY! But handled with class — each interaction shows more about the characters and their developing relationship.

This book was amazing! I loved Simran and Marcus! I can’t wait to see what is in store for their future. Watching Simran struggle with duty to her family and her own dreams is heartbreaking. She is definitely badass though!

"Sims, I care for you so much. Fuck, baby. I don't know what being in love feels like, but I'm betting this feeling, how my heart feels like it'll stop beating knowing you might not be with me, that's what I imagine this is."

I absolutely loved Simran and Marc. The connection they had was electrifying.

Marc is the type of man that gets what he wants but when he sends Simran a drink at the opening night of his club and she doesn’t come rushing over it definitely catches his attention.

What starts as a one night only hook up turned into Simran’s entire vacation but once she was back in NYC she’d be over the vacation fling and ready to jump back into work or so she thought!

When their one night stand turns into more Marc gets cold feet but regretting it tries to get Simran back. Will he be too late?

I typically don’t like cliffhangers because I want my happy ever after right away. Will I read the next book? Absolutely, I have to find out what happens.

🔥🔥🔥This book has a lot of steam 🔥🔥🔥

Trigger warning: miscarriage and cancer

Another warning this is a cliffhanger

This book hit me with many emotions and feelings.
This book was an absolute joy to read and I will be reading the second book ASAP.

Marcus is a big name by reputation and in his new club he comes across Simran who is looking for a one night stand, a vacation fling- and it started as just that.
However Marcus was quickly breaking all his rules he kept in place for his previous flings, not opening himself up to a relationship.
Simran starts to break her rules of just a vacation fling too.

It was a medium paced book id say and it had just the right amount of detail to progress the storyline.

Some spicy scenes and if your a fan of nicknames, then Marcus' 'Kitten' nickname for Simran is right up your street🥵

Thank you for this ARC!

Grab a blanket, a drink, and some snacks and be prepared to get lost in this book until you finish. Simran and Marcus are amazing characters. Marcus doesn't do commitment and Simran is afraid of getting her heart broke again. But they share a night of no strings attached passion, but will one night be enough? The passion they share for one another is hot, by the way!! I also liked how the book switches from present day New York where you're figuring out what's happened previously, to 4 months prior and when they meet. I can't wait for the next book and to see what the future holds for Simran and Marcus.

Passion’s Liberation is book 1 in the Liberation Series. This book was a pleasant surprise with a interracial romance that is very steamy. I absolutely loved both Marcus and Simram. This book takes you from a possible one night stand to something more when Marcus gets cold feet and leaves Simran with a broken heart. Looking forward to book 2

This book jumps from the present to the past. Don't worry. It differentiates the past from the present well. Simran Khan met Marcus Lehigh on a visit with a girlfriend. What was supposed to be a one-night stand ended up slipping into relationship territory. The two liked each other and connected well physically. Both were career-driven and focused on their jobs. They could have fun when they saw each other, right?

It takes readers while to figure out what went on in the past to lead to this present. I am not going to spoil this discovery for you. I think readers will enjoy the discovery much like I did. Wondering what happened with these two kept me engaged. I could not wait to see where this all led.

Will Marcus be able to stay in Simran's life? Will Simran be able to put Marcus on the backburner for her health? Everything that was going on makes this story one readers will not be able to put down. Readers will want to know to the hows and the whys of these two.

The reviews in Goodreads made me want to read this one. I got an ARC and loved the blurb.

Simran is a smart, intelligent budding American entrepreneur with Indian origins who has all the cultural baggages and episodes of constant racist looks/words any 1st generation south Asian immigrant has to face while Marcus is a smart, intelligent Entrepreneur who hides his brain and past experiences behind his womaniser attitude. The ups and downs, steamy romance without the L word is what this book 1 is about.

I saw someone mentioned this is like Fifty shades of Grey but to me this one is much better than that as it has a strong storyline and reason behind why they are the way they are. I loved the author’s diction and clean choice of words.

Initially I felt the sentences are longer then usual novels but as the story progressed it help in keeping up with the fast pace of the book and I finished the book within a night. Now my wait for Book 2 has started.

If you love steamy romance novels then this one is for you. Do give it a read.

I love Marc and Simran. Their connection was off the charts. Marc was an idiot for letting her go when he started getting serious feelings for her. He was a playboy until he met her. He wanted to win her back. He told her he was scared and didn’t know what love felt like but he thought it was the way he felt for her. She told him she needed to think about it. Her father wanted her to get back with her ex fiancé Anil and she was supposed to go to India to see her father and meet up with him. She told Marc that she was going but she no longer had feelings for Anil and that she needed to make sure that they were truly gone but she knew they were. But she had to make sure her father knew that they weren’t going to be anything. Great book. Can’t wait to read the next book.

Simran and Marc

Simran meets Marc at his club opening. He's immediately drawn to her and knows he wants to spend time with her. She sees him across the room as well and goes over to talk. Their relationship starts pretty quick and hot. They have some things that they have to work through and some misunderstandings along the way.

I liked this book a lot. Khushi knows how to tell a story and keep you engaged.

Passion’s Liberation

Simran meets Bruce at a bar and the sparks start immediately. The playboy millionaire thinks that this will be a one time thing, but as time moves on, he realizes that he wants it to be more. Simran has another life in NY but he is making her second think her plans.

This book is a semi spicy, fast passed story with multicultural main characters, spice, and I read it in one sitting. I love the writing style of the author and have read other books by her as well and would recommend them all!

Passion's Liberation is an interracial romance revolving around Simran and Marcus.

Simran is an American, with Indian roots. Her father very much wants her to live up to certain Indian traditions and beliefs, which Simran tries to live up to. But when it comes to an arranged marriage, it's where she draws the line for herself (after a failed relationship which left her heartbroken).
She's a budding businesswoman, with a blossoming company.

She meets Marc(us) on a trip visiting her best friend in London. He is a billionaire entrepreneur, who invests in nightclubs.

They have one night of no strings attached, wild passion. But is one night enough? Marc doesn't do commitment, but is he ready to open his heart for Simran? And after the heartbreak Simran already experienced, is she ready to open her heart to a playboy?

The story alternates between present time in New York, where you have to find out what happened in the past months, and 4 months earlier, when they met in London. I like that it alternates. Some stories tend to get confusing when they keep alternating, but in this case it keeps you interested.

This was a 3 star read for me.

Picked it for the spice...loved it for the story telling! Don't get me wrong, the spice was spicey! The scenes were enticingly well written, and there were lots of them. But the story was engaging and drew me in. Very binge-able!
I especially enjoyed the South Asian culture aspect of the book. The author gives (those of us that are not of that culture) glimpses that make me want to seek out more.
I will be reading the 2nd book!!

Calling all fans of Fifty Shades of Grey... if you loved the undeniable chemistry and passion between Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele then you will really enjoy reading, Passions Liberation by Author Khushi T Saha. Unlike the character of Anastasia, our leading lady, Simran, is full of sass and knows exactly what she wants in the bedroom department. Her feisty personality, wit and determination not to let another man break her heart again, has our lovable rogue, rich playboy Marc well and truly whipped, where no other woman comes close to igniting his desire, or to finding a way into his heart.
When Marc puts a temporary break on their relationship, Simran not only has to overcome the loss of her blossoming romance, but faces challenges that take their toll on Simran's mind, body and spirit, leading her to reach out to Marc once more. The two of them meet, and have an honest conversation, where it finally dawns on the pair, that they are destined to be together.
Simran is a strong and independent character, and she doesn't disappoint you by being one of those women who simply drop at your feet, or with a click of the finger, comes running. She isn't one to be dominated, inside or outside of the bedroom, and even in her moment of greatest need, although she does express a vulnerable side to her, it is her true grit and determination that pulls her through.
Marc is handsome, muscular, the ideal hero and the stallion all women wish for in bed. But he isn't quite the CAD that everyone believes he is, and though he certainly enjoys a healthy sex life, there is a tenderness about him that shows he cares what is also inside a woman's heart and mind, and doesn't just view women as sex objects, at least where Simran is concerned.
I did enjoy reading their passionate story, and the only constructive criticism I would give is that there is an awful lot of the Author telling and not showing. Some of the emotional conflict that should have had me raging or crying, as I followed Simran's journey to find love, was lost for me.
For example, the scenes surrounding her culture, Marc certainly not being what her father would have envisaged for her, and her past hurts and conflict, were all described very well, but not really shown in a way the reader could experience and feel for themselves first hand. For me, that was a missed opportunity, and had the author included in the same way that she moves Simran and Marc's story between the present and the past, that for me would have moved this book easily from a 3.5 stars rating to a 4 star rating.
Thank you so much for the opportunity to read this Khushi and on behalf of the Book Dragon Team, we wish you well in your continuing career.
Best Wishes
Kirsty

This book takes you on a roller coaster ride, I loved Marcus and Simrans story, I couldn't put the book down nope not one bit.

Marc is the type of man that gets what he wants, he's a billionaire playboy, but when he sends Simran a drink at the opening night of his new club and she doesn’t come rushing over it definitely catches his attention.

"Sims, I care for you so much. Fuck, baby. I don't know what being in love feels like, but I'm betting this feeling, how my heart feels like it'll stop beating knowing you might not be with me, that's what I imagine this is."

But what starts as a one night only hook up, turned into Simran’s entire vacation, and things where very much heating up between the sheets, but once she was back in NYC she’d be over the vacation fling and ready to jump back into work wouldn't she, and move on, nope she can't get him off her mind.

So there one night stand turns into more Marc gets cold feet and runs but he starts regretting it, he can't get her off his mind and is scared of how he feels, but god damn it, he can't live with out her, so he tries to get Simran back. Will he be too late? Does he get her back ? Or has he blown it for good?

There chemistry is off the charts hot, the spice was very much spicy, if your a fan of nicknames, then Marcus' 'Kitten' nickname for Simran is right up your street🥵 and that cliffhanger 😱 I can't wait to find out what happens in part 2. Khushi never disappoints. Highly recommended.

First of all, this is not a standalone romance. The couple does not get to an HEA in this book, and I wish I had known that before I started. Second of all, it needs edited. The writing is occasionally clunky, and the mixing of backstory, flashbacks, and current story was very distracting. The pace felt very slow despite so few pages because almost the whole book was spent jumping back in time when what I really cared about was the present.

I really liked the heroine, and I thought her journey in the book was very unique for a romance. The medical things she was going through were the most interesting parts for me, and I really wanted to explore it in the context of a romantic relationship. I didn't care for the hero much, though I think he had potential.

Overall, I was disappointed by this book, and the writing was weak enough that I probably won't read the next book in the series to see the HEA.

Simran is a name Indians are very familiar with and when we hear Simran, we can only imagine DDLJ. Well, this isn't a review for that but rather for Passion's Liberation which features Simran and Marcus. To all the Indian girls, yes it's your dream come true kind of a book. This book is relatable to all Indians and all South Asia decent girls, it features the responsibility and obligations we girls have to face in an Indian household.

Wow!

This was wow!

This was so different yet similar to the previous duet I read from this author.

Different in that this felt more raw and real and just more.

Similar in the strong women, the culture, the passion, and the SPICE! Whew the spice levels are HOT!

I felt so many emotions reading this. I loved it and of course will be reading book 2!
