Eren
Eren wasn't expecting the stowaway to be so small or so ... female.
He let go in surprise.
She immediately tried to duck around him.
Eren grabbed her around the waist. She started kicking him. For someone who didn't weigh half what he did, she was extremely energetic.
"Let me go!" she yelled, struggling. In his attempt to contain her, Eren stumbled into the wall and bashed his head on the ceiling, which was low enough that he normally had to duck.
"Whoa, hey, I'm not going to hurt you! I'm just trying to stop you from hurting yourself—or us. There's nowhere to go out there, just water. We're on a boat, after all."
She was starting to relax in his arms, though it was the tense kind of relaxation that suggested she might be gearing up for another fight.
"If I put you down, will you be easy about it? This is my family's fishing boat. I just want to talk."
"Okay," she said after a moment.
Eren carefully set her down. He was prepared to stop her if she tried to make another break for it—he didn't want to have to fish her out of the sea—but she stayed where she was, and as the light coming down the stairs from the pilothouse fell across her face, he got a look at her for the first time.
She was beautiful.
She was his mate.

Always a good time!

We meet Lucy Copeland as she's in the process of getting away from her uncle. Apparently, he wants her to sign some papers and she's refused. Now he's having her taken somewhere, she just has no clue where that might be. As they're about to land she does her 'thing' where she blends in with her surroundings, in the lavatory. She manages to escape through the emergency exit and just starts running. The road leads to a dock and she jumps on one with large crates that is leaving.
The men after her weren't just men they're shifters, two tigers a wolf and a bear and she was lucky to get away from them as quickly as she did.
Eren in the meantime is fighting with the trash griffins. They are cat sized with a seagull front and a raccoon back that is attacking his lunch. He has errands to run in St John's and no time for these creatures. As he finishes the shopping list, he runs into his sister Inga and sister-in-law Bernie. Inga starts snooping and he gets out of her inquisition with a bit of a lie. The story of who the supplies are for is not his story to tell.
Lucy finds getting off the boat she was on easier than expected. She comes to the realization that she has no money and no clothes other than what she's wearing. As she wanders around, she sees a tourist shop, the hats and t-shirts proclaimed St John's, Newfoundland. She does run into the kindness of a woman who gives her donuts, a bottle of water and the location of a shelter. When she sees one of her uncle's men she knows she has to get away again. She makes her way back to the docks and makes the wise choice of hiding on board the Codfather, Eren's family boat.
As Eren leaves St. John's behind, he senses he's not alone on the boat. When he hears a noise below, he investigates and what he finds is a big surprise in more ways than one.
Eren finds himself with his mate and no way to tell her that without her losing trust.
It's in this book we meet Dane. He lives on Dead Man's Island in what is referred to as a fisherman's shack but is really a well-built log cabin. Lucy and Dane immediately trust each other, they both have secrets and that's a relief to Eren who was nervous about revealing Dane's presence on the island.
Once back in Westerly Cove Lucy meets Eren's family and Inga takes her under her wing. The 'Trash Griffins' in town love Lucy. especially the 'Trash Griffins'.
Lucy really fits in here, she just doesn't know how much. We find out what she actually is, and we learn Eren's story and Dane's as well since they are intertwined.
I loved this book, it made laugh, cry, sigh and there's plenty of sizzle too.

Decisions I wouldn’t have made, but a good story.
… I would have kept the yacht and kicked them off in St. John’s.
But other than that, it had nice effective and new hook at the start.
We would like to think that such nice people will cross our path if we were ever in such a situation, but this is a world of shifters and magic and true love at first sight. So yeah, really nice people will help out strangers too.
I still don’t like the trash griffins. So much so that in the first book I thought they were being call trash gremlins. The “name change” has not placed them in a better light for me.
I was a little disappointed that she didn’t do the salon thing, but she had real degrees that were useful and in demand as well.
The house I think was a little bit of a jump, but if they waited until it was confirmed that she was knocked up, she would’ve have been able to do everything that she did in getting it ready to be moved into.
That is not a spoiler. Almost all the couples are going at it without protection. It would be surprising if they didn’t have a child the first year they are together.
But Lucy’s family does make me question the horrors that the author put another character thought in the fire and rescue series. Did that happen because he himself didn’t know that it was a possibility? Or was it because he wasn’t born to the line to begin with?
Either which way, the story is done and the author has pointed us in the direction of the next and last story in the set. And this leads me to my last question.
When do the Nelsons work? They are supposed to be fishermen right? Outside of the trash griffins getting into the hold and Eden claiming that regardless of how well they clean it out those creatures would find something to eat, we get nothing. Not talk about the nets. Not how good or bad a catch was. Not even a sunset shot of them doing their job from shore or a reason why they wouldn’t be seen from sure. Not even the talk of fishy smelling clothing.

Another fun, suspense-filled shifter story
This is book 2 in the Westerly Cove series, with the Westerly Cove series being a spin-off of the Stoneskin Shifters books. That said, you can easily read this as a standalone, though having read the previous books in both series would give you more background information on the world building in general, and Westerly Cove and Eden’s family in particular.
One of the things I love about Zoe Chant books is the mix of suspense with romance, humor, and paranormal elements, and this book drops you right in that suspense with Lucy being abducted by her uncle. I thoroughly enjoyed the world building (there were some actual lol’s at the trash griffins and their antics), and the the plot and characters had me completely pulled in.
The author does great job of making you care for her characters, and feel their emotions, and I was cheering on Lucy immediately, and then both Eren and Lucy through the rest of the book. Having read book one in the series, I was pleased to revisit Tor and Bernie as well as the rest of the family, and to meet Dane.
All in all, a highly entertaining and enjoyable read. I was happy to see the next book will be featuring Dane; the hard part is having to wait for it, lol.

Eren and Lucy all the swoons and all the strength
I loved, loved Eren and Lucy’s story. The story drew me in from the very first sentence, pulling me in with mystery and danger and kept me enthralled until the very end. The story starts with Lucy having been kidnapped and she is confused after being flown to an unknown location while she was drugged. While trying to escape, Lucy ends up hiding on Eren’s boat. Eren is a polar bear shifter who lives with his father and siblings in Westerly Cove. As soon as they see each other, Eren and Lucy are drawn together because they’re mates even if they do not realize it. To get to their HEA, Eren and Lucy will have to learn to trust each other with their secrets and protect Lucy from the people hunting her. This is an exciting fast paced story full of swoons, quirky townspeople, love, danger, mystery, drama, silliness, magic, sweet moments, strong families, sexy times, and trash griffins. It is also well written, has three dimensional characters who grow and an engaging storyline. I am excited to read the next book in the series.

I received an eARC copy of this book and agreed to write an honest review. It's not hard though, to write a review! I was looking forward to this book already, having enjoyed meeting some of the characters in the previous book, Tor. Tor and Eren have a delightful family (including the fact that they're polar bear shifters), and it was a treat seeing them and their neighbors again. Lucy was a fantastic heroine. At the beginning of the book, she is frightened and confused but still clearly has a fighting spirit. She also has a beautiful and caring heart. Eren, too, has his struggles but his strengths shine through.
I loved seeing how Lucy and Eren met, and how they both learned some important things about themselves, each other, and the world in which they live. It's just the sort of romance I love--adventure, humor, and caring family, with a few surprises along the way.
I will continue reading anything written by Zoe Chant.

Eren was a good book. I got it even though I did not read the first book in the series. Now I am getting the first book as well. I loved Lucy and Eren the whole time. I could not put the book down or stop reading, just driving a car, and reading at the same time is not safe.
I wanted to know why Lucy had a power and what was Eren’s secret. I was not disappointed in either.
I laughed when Lucy was trying to wash dishes. Glad she did not try to cook on her own at first. I was laughing so much. I know we should not laugh at simple things people cannot do, but I could not help it.
I yelled at the book when the people her father and uncle were from treated Lucy the way they did. I would tell you but it would ruin your surprise. Lots of emotions in this book.
I also now want a trash griffin as a pet. My Tattoo Artist wants to tattoo a raccoon on me. I told him if it was a trash griffin, I was cool with that.

Loved it!!
Loved it, Erin sure had a big burden carrying around all these years, who would thought his mate Lucy would help him to talk about. Which was good for him finally opening up about what was causing him to shut down and be closed off to his family..but since he opened up about all that burden him he felt a lot better. But Lucy's uncle is something else wanting to get rid of his Niece just to get her inheritance, but Lucy is a smart cookie, she didn't want to be burdened with managing a company so why not give it up to her ungrateful uncle, but keep half the money her parents left her..some ppl just greedy but he was bad to the bone. So happy things are okay and that they are both very happy and in the family way, but Erin don't know that yet...now I can't wait to read Dane's story....big fan as always Winzie19 🤗💞.

In the three years since tech heiress Lucy Copeland received her inheritance, her uncle will stop at nothing to control her or the company her parents created. A Bear & A Griffin?????
Eren is a bear shifter and the youngest child in his family. Lucy is a woman who is running away from her uncle who had locked her up for a long time. She hides out on Eren's boat. He discovers her and knows she is his mate. After hiding out from her uncle they decide to take up the search for her past and how she can have her freedom. Lucy finds out she is a griffin shifter and ends up saving Eren when he is being jumped by her uncles hired hands. Together they handle her uncle and Eren finally tells his family about things that happened to him when he was in the service. Love definitely came out on top. This is a wonderful series.

Perfect reading for rainy afternoon
If you are feeling the first seasonal drip, drip of autumn, and the urge to sip hot cocoa or tea and cozy up on the couch, this is your book. Everyone has a past, and Westerly Cove is protected by gargoyle magic to make it a safe harbor for shifters and others who are just not looking for more adventure. Sure, it comes in waves ( pun intended) but the tiny town has a way of saving people from their past and giving them a place to thrive. Fred makes sure of it, a Erén & Lucy make a bright new addition.

Eren has always had a problem with anger cause of his bear but there's more 2 it than that. When he found a runaway on his boat he didn't know what 2 think but he was trying 2 b nice and the help her possible. she never knew much about herself and she knew and felt sumthing missing in her life but what could it b? She was kidnapped by a family member but when she got away things became 2 unfold in its on x. With a few extra trash buddies along lol. It was awesome 2 get him 2 relax and find answers of their pasts and possible futures.

Fabulous follow-up.......
This was a fabulous follow-up in the Westerly Cove series. I am loving this series and I am completely bummed that I have to wait until June 2023 for the next installment! I did find out that this series is a spin off of the Stone Shifters series by Zoe Chant and I have not read those yet so I am beyond excited to get started on those. I highly recommend any and all books by this author, so pick any one and dive in, you will not be disappointed. Mature eyes only due to hot 🔥 Shifter/Human loving!!!

Eren is a polar bear shifter who’s been broken by a bad military/forced mercenary experience who discovered a stowed away woman named Lucy who is on the run from her uncle who wants her family’s company. I loved how the Newfoundland hospitality was shown even if it’s a romanticized version. I guess this is a story about self discovery and I enjoyed the griffin twist. The sea griffins sound adorable in a they’re so ugly it’s cute way. I liked getting to know Dane too. Never had an orca (or seal for that matter) shifter in a book before. This book held my interest better than Tor’s book.

It feels like it's been a while since I read the first in this series. However, it didn't take me long to remember how great the Cove and its' residents were. I loved Eren and Lucy's story. They have both been through so much in their young lives. Meeting each other couldn't have been more perfect. I loved the trash griffins. Another hit from an amazing 'Zoe'. I received an advanced copy and this is my voluntary opinion.

Not expecting this

I did enjoy most of the book. Was confused why the family did not notify the towns watcher of possible intruders. As well lack of comprehension of why he did not tell family, and Gargoyle head about the group torturing shifters.
As well how the Uncle situation turned out. Would have had her sell co, and give him small amount doled out in yearly amounts as long as she and family was alive.

Erin (Westerly Cove Book 2)
Erin is a shifter romance, but in general it is about a young woman who finds her true self. In this story the heroine is running away from her evil uncle and runs and hide right on the boat of her true mate. Now she just has to figure out that she to is a shifter ( the thing she is afraid of) and how to get her evil money grabbing Uncle off her back for good. And than she can become her New Good self.
Erin is a shifter romance, but in general it is about a young woman who finds her true self. So, the series "Bodyguard Shifters," "Stone Shifters," and "Westerly Cove" are all in the same universe. Bodyguard shifters starts out as a cozy shifter community series and segues for a couple of books into dragon/gargoyle war and politics. Stoneskin Dragon picks up a character from the dragon/gargoyle world, but isn't really part of series after that. Westerly Cove is back to shifter community. This one also mentions the Griffin Island that's mentioned in a couple of the Bodyguard Books.
Fated mates, hot hunky guy, etc. Cozy little community building.
It's just odd that there are so many books in the series and the characters don't intertwine at all, or very little.

Runaway Stowaway
He found her hiding in the boat after he left the harbor. He wasn't too happy at first, but he felt overly protected.of her. She knew nothing of the everyday world, had no money, a change of clothes, and nowhere to go. He took her under his wing. As they travelled together, (being chased by her uncle and his goons), she found what she was and came into her own being. A self discovery and others adventures while they found their HEA.

Getting in touch with your inner self. This was filled with intrigue and suspense. Greed is a poison in your system that kills. Love can help you do things that are like magic. Love strengthened Lucy and Eren and made them better together. Lucy was too generous in the end, but you can't put a price on happiness. I'm interested in Dane's story!!!

sweet story
A fast read with interesting twists. I recommend reading for a lazy afternoon. I admit that I didn’t understand why the trash griffins were in the location as Eren indicated they were present even before Lucy and her Uncle showed up, but it ended up just being a bit of comic relief.

Once again Zoe Chant has hit the mark
Another great book from Zoe Chant. This is the second book in her Westerly Cove series. Very different from the first book, even though the shifter hero is in the same family. One special thing about this one, is that in spite of knowing there would be a happy ever after ending, there is a surprise.

This is a well written Shifter story with great characters. This is the second book in this series. This was a quick read for me. There are twists in this one so stay sharp. This one is worth your time. I think you will enjoy this one, I know I did. I would encourage you to go get this one now. Enjoy!!!

Fantastic
This is the second book in the Westerly Cove series and I was hooked right from the start. This time we have the story of Eren and his mate Lucy,who he finds hiding out on his boat. I love their relationship and how it develops. This story is super sweet with a touch of humor. The characters are well written. I can wait for the next book in this series

another winner from Zoe Chant
The myriad of Zoe Chant authors are fabulous! Interesting mix of mythic and generic shifters.
I liked both Lucy and Eren, the main characters. Eren was part of book 1. It was good to hear his back story.
I would recommend this short series to anyone.

Zoe is definitely keeping up with her penchant for an eclectic group of Shifter types, and the intrigue and excitement surrounding them! My only issue is having to wait eight months for the next story in this series ... GAAAH! 😘

Loved it
I could not put it down. It is a gripping tale of love with lots of action. Lucy is an heiress on the run when she stows away on Eren's boat. Sparks follow as the two of them her uncle's goons.

Fun and Interesting
I really enjoyed the book. I like it when both characters do a lot of growing and changing and the two lead characters do both very week in this story. I can’t wait for the next one!
