If you’re expecting some sort of an astonishing piece of literature, this is not it. The writing style is simple and there are no revolutionary reveals in that book. It is just the heart and soul of a kind and lovely human being, trying to share her thoughts with the world, appreciating her recent success and giving her best to help others with her knowledge. I’ve read so many good and bad reviews, but the truth is, this book is just Sophie’s honest thoughts and yet another proof she’s just a normal person like all of us. What we can learn from it? Kindness. Yes, you can read her cleaning tips and love them or hate them, but what this book teaches is us to just be kind to each other and to be good human beings. Good luck, Sophie!

P.S. I wish more people loved their pets as much as you love Henry!

Awful!!!
This book was bought for me by a lovely well meaning friend but no. Just no.
I didn’t like the childish style of writing.
I didn’t like the amount of poisonous cleaning products she was recommending.
I didn’t like the fact she hoarded cleaning products in single use non recyclable plastic.
I didn’t like the amount of micro fibre (plastic) cloths she had.
I didn’t like the way she named her cloths and mops!!
And I especially didn’t like the fact that this person is an “influencer” on social media, encouraging other people to also buy non recyclable packaged poisonous chemicals and micro fibre cloths.
If you have any inkling of the environmental disaster we have created do not buy or read or act on this book.

What a book of fresh air! Honestly, I never read this kind of stuff. So many celebs bringing out books etc! But I bought this I guess as part of the craze for Mrs Hinch at the moment. But Iv been surprised and rather enjoyed it!
Her lovely kind character comes out on the pages and I laughed (belly laugh good and proper) at some bits. I mostly enjoyed reading about her back story and at times felt like giving her a call to see if she was ok bless her.
An honest read with bonus tips at the end of chapters 🙂. The lists within it can be used so this book is a definate keeper and I will be going back to it every nw and again.
Well done Mrs Hinch.

Was extremely disappointed! I have been a huge Hinch fan since the beginning & have spent hundreds of ££ purchasing things Mrs Hinchcliffe advertises on a daily basis. I thought this book was going to teach me more than what her fave tunez are & I really did think it’d show me actual cleaning tips to help me clean my home efficiently & not just cake it in flammable substances but all it seems to be is a few pages of things you can already learn from her instagram which in all honesty isn’t much *sigh*. I am super disappointed she has not given a step by step on how to make her nachos also or included a free Minkeh. Sadly I shall be throwing my book on the bonfire I have tonight as I have run out of other bits of crap to throw on there.

Ask a younger me and I would never say that I would one day read a book about how to scrub a sink! Unlike some readers, I knew little about Mrs Hinch and only briefly scrolled through her feed on Instagram.

This book was never intended to win a Pulitzer Prize, but that’s okay - it is what it is, and the author is very transparent, she acknowledges she isn’t re inventing the wheel or curing cancer here, she just loves cleaning and keeping a happy, tidy home.

There are plenty of tips and recommendations on products featured, and how to organise a cleaning schedule so you don’t feel overwhelmed by housework. The author is currently expecting her first child, so it remains to be seen how her methods will adapt to parenthood!

I particularly enjoyed the parts where the author describes how cleaning and certain smells have helped to reduce her anxiety. If it works for her, makes her happy and isn’t harming anyone, then so be it. There are also handy pages at the back for record keeping, making this a good choice for someone moving into their first home.

An easy, inoffensive read that won’t make the book world quake in its boots, but is cute and handy to take bits and pieces of advice from. The grammar drove me insane in parts, as did the many exclamation points... I also found some parts of the book were merely there to fill space. It was nice to read about the woman behind the famous feed, but did I really need to know her top Spotify songs or a name and mini bio of all her closest friends? Probably not!

It is most definitely not the best book out there but Mrs Hinch is such a gem and she's so nice and adorable. I liked the book just because I could feel her genuine love through the pages!

I received this book this morning and I've hardly put it down! A great light hearted read from one of the most genuine and entertaining people on Instagram. Hinch Yourself Happy is full of useful cleaning tips and tricks and gives an insight into the life of Mrs Hinch and her famiy.

Mrs Hinch is beautiful, inspiring and hilarious and is the friend we would all love to have. She has brightened up my days watching her stories on instagram, and Henry her gorgeous dog is just so adorable.

Well done Sophie - all the best x

Lighthearted and easy read. There will always be critics but it does what it says on the tin, nobody is claiming it's an epic novel that will gain legendary status! It was a nice, light read and already picked up some good tips. Win-win!

I love Soph. Her Insta-fame inspired healthy ways to calm my anxiety and clear my mind. A clean, nurturing environment is the key to a happy, dust-free mind. The book is basic, occasionally repetitive and is mostly a regurgitation of Insta highlights. However, now, it is all in one place; I will definitely refer back to this book for tips and tricks. She wasn’t born to be a writer - not at all - but I respect anybody who can publish a book and let their honest, raw voice shine through.

Have been waiting for this for ages ! And loved it , loved the littlest step by step sections . All product mentions are great choices and honest in terms of what she’s using , hate people who claim they are using overpriced expensive products there’s no need a bargain is just as good and gets the job done !

An unusual choice for me who,s not that fond of housework, but I wanted to see what the hype is all about. Its quite a bizarre book, basically promoting various brands of cleaning materials, giving a detailed account of the author's life and, strangest of all, giving names to all her cleaning accessories. But who am I to judge, she sounded like a nice person, so the 3 stars are for Mrs Hinch and not the book. And who has time to do all this stuff? She can't possibly go to work.

The writing was terrible but once I got past that the tips were very good and was quite good to read how cleaning can help with anxiety.

I know nothing about Mrs Hinch except I see her cleaning products in the cheapy shops that I love, but I picked this book up anyway and I really enjoyed it, lots of great tips and I liked how vulnerable she was talking about he mental health and anxiety issues.

edit: people are moaning about cleaning chemicals for... *checks notes* for cleaning? tf is wrong with everyone now? their houses must be stinking!!

I am not a huge fan of Instagram so I do not watch Mrs Hinch Instagram stories regularly. I have got quite a few tips from her though. I bought the book blind really and just assumed it would be just all of her cleaning tips in one place. This is not really what it is. We learn a lot about Mrs Hinch and how her Instagram account took off. She talks a lot about her anxiety and how her cleaning helps with that. She also talks about her personal life. There are of course all of her cleaning tips and what products she uses and why. I found it really easy to read. There was a lot more to this book than I expected. If you are already a Mrs Hinch fan then this is a good buy. If you are purely looking for cleaning tips then this is probably not the right book for you.

Just disappointing, and poorly written.
I am a follower of Mrs Hinch on Instagram as I do enjoy the cleaning tips, (however I do feel the amount of chemicals used in her house daily are neither healthy or environmentally friendly for in the home or the earth, Moderation and green is key! Hopefully she recycles everything!)
The actual book however I struggled to get through, even though it is very easy to read, I found it more frustrating. That could just be me and if this book helps you then great, however I would’ve expected this book to be more to do with helpful tips about cleaning etc with the title being what it is. Instead it’s more of a brief biography (I won’t say autobiography as I’m sure this is the work of a ghost writer but I can’t remember), with a shopping list of products that she likes and that’s about it.
I could have gotten all the actual cleaning help for free from her instagram.

This book was just not for me, and won’t be wasting my money on it when I only wanted to read about the cleaning aspect and not Mrs Hinch’s life. No offence to her as a person, I am just not a fan of biographies/autobiographies.

I'll admit I actually couldn't finish this, I got almost to the end and couldn't do it any longer 😅
So although I didnt read absolutely all of this, I can tell you why I didn't like it.
Full of lists of non recyclable plastic and non eco friendly cleaners, how she cleans her rooms with said products, why she names her wash cloths and cleaning appliances etc, explanation of why she basically hoards cleaning products in a shrine...
And to be honest not a whole lot about what the title suggests. I found this extremely boring, which goes to show as I almost always manage to push through books 📚 😭

As always, nothing against Mrs Hinch personally, I think sticking to posting cleaning tips on Instagram is perhaps better suited. ❤

More like an extended Instagram caption than a book, there’s nothing new here for anyone who doesn’t follow Mrs Hinch on social media. The ghost writer has made an attempt at getting the Mrs Hinch catchphrases (all the best!) but it reads awkwardly and is thin on content. There’s even a list of what makeup brands she wears apparently for no other reason than to pad out the pages. It’s always enjoyable to watch nice people do hobbies they feel passionate about and Mrs Hinch has so much warmth and humour that she even makes cleaning seem fun. The book, though, has none of that and it was a slog to get through, despite how little content there was.

Not going to be in the classics alongside Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre, but there is something so likeable about Sophie, aka Mrs Hinch. Her bubbly personality comes across in this book, yet her honesty about her personal life is also very refreshing and makes you love her all the more.

If you're looking for a serious, intellectual read then look elsewhere but if you want a fun and light read about the nation's cleaning sweetheart then it's here in spades.

My top three thoughts on 'Mrs Hinch: Hinch Yourself Happy':
1. I didn't know who this Mrs Hinch is when I picked up this book. I just knew that whenever I was scoping out my local library for new releases or popular books this book was always on reserve or being checked out. I also have a tendency to creepily stand in front of bookstores (sometimes without blinking) to check out titles that are popular. This one seemed to be in the bestsellers section for more than a month! I saw it everywhere I went so I finally reserved a copy for myself from my library.
2. I didn't read the blurb for this book nor did I do any research on the author. I just went guns blazing with my assumptions that this novel is probably about some old fashioned caretaker of an estate (I imagined Highclere castle and a Downtown Abbey style drama). In my defense, the name Mrs Hinch sounds like such a name from such an era. I finally went on Instagram after I started the book and was surprised to see a young, gorgeous woman with an exceptional, modern and carefully decorated house!
3. I feel like my lack of prior knowledge about the author worked in my favor as I got to see her vulnerable, behind the camera side in this book first. She comes across as a really sweet, honest and genuine woman who doesn't shy away from talking about the difficult parts of her life. Her cleaning tips sound great in theory and maybe I'll even try a few out in one of my non lazy days. I'm totally one of those people that wants a clean house but can't be bothered to break my back doing it. The only 'negative' part for me in this entire book is Mrs Hinch's excessive use of plastic and non environment friendly packaging for all the cleaning products. I appreciate that she's addressed and even tried to create a sense of responsibility to recycle what she recommends. But I'll most probably stick to my vinegar/ lime/ baking soda concoctions for regular light cleaning or regular disinfecting around the house.

Anyone who follows Mrs Hinch on Insta knows exactly what to expect from this book - a bit of fun, a lot of Zoflora and nothing too intellectually taxing. This is a light hearted wee book purely for fans of Soph and her hilarious take on cleaning. I love her for who she is - a bit obsessed, a bit crazy, and hugely likeable. I am not a very good housekeeper, but Mrs Hinch makes cleaning almost look fun and her Insta stories always make me laugh. I'd actually only bought this book because, as someone who has struggled with her weight for years I was curious to know more about Soph after seeing that she previously had too. She does touch on this, as well as her struggles with anxiety, but it isn't a deep dive. And I respect that - just because she's Instafamous doesn't mean she needs to lay herself bare. This book is pretty basic, both in terms of how it's written and in the tips it covers, but I think that's great - it appeals to her fan base, they don't want a literary tome, and it collates together all her tips into one place. Yes, if you've been on her Insta long enough then you probably have seen them all, but this is a way to have them all in one collection. I thought it was interesting to read about the woman behind the account, and I'm not as skeptical about her as a lot of people are. If she's earning for pushing certain products, who cares? If this book is just to capitalise on her current popularity, who cares? Because the products work, you'll only buy this book if you're a fan, and why shouldn't she make a bit of money for all the effort she puts into her account...isn't that what influencers everywhere do? I'll admit, this could have done with a bit more editing, and I'd have loved some photos, but I wasn't disappointed and I'll definitely refer to it to try and up my hinching game! All the best ;)

I have seen quite a bit of criticism of Sophie Hinchliffe, her Instagram account and this book and I honestly don’t understand why, other than the obvious reason of jealousy.
Mrs Hinch is a very normal lady, who led a very normal life until her instagram account exploded last year. I have followed her from her early days as I like her Essex personality and her wonderfully kind and caring nature. She does not pretend to be anything she isn’t and it’s really endearing.
She suffers from anxiety and uses cleaning to calm herself and alter her state of mind. How can anyone really object to that?
No, this is not literature and it doesn’t claim to be. I have seen suggestions that it’s been ghost written, but I don’t feel it is likely. I’m sure Sophie had help with writing it, but reading you just get the sense of her and her speech patterns/syntax.
The book itself gives us some insight into Sophie’s life so far and detailed explanations of her cleaning tips, tricks and routines. This is exactly what the title suggests it is.
I have only deducted one star as a lot of this information is on the Insta account, but I still am glad that I bought this as it supports a lovely lady. She rightly recognises that her fame may not last long and she is not fundamentally changing her life. A very wise young woman and why not make cleaning fun?

A totally different read from my usual thrillers etc but as I follow “Mrs Hinch” over at my personal account, and I do love a good ‘Home Hinch’ myself, My sister bought me this book for my birthday and I’ve finally got round to reading it. It’s such a cute lighthearted read & I finished it within a day! I actually found it quite touching in parts as not only has Sophie shared some of her fab cleaning tips (that puts you in the mood to grab your ‘minkeh’ & totally transform your home) but she’s also added some of her own personal life and background stories, which you probably haven’t seen or heard much of over on her account @mrshinchhome . I found that I could actually relate to a lot of what she was saying, relate to thoughts and feelings she’s had in the past or still deals with on a daily basis. There were also parts that I actually laughed out loud at (eg: Casper the friendly ghost👻) the book contains plenty of her well known, warming & addictive humour that we all love so much! So taking all of the above in to account .....I think she’s done a cracking job of her first book and I must say its pretty much “All the best” 💜

I don't really do autobiographies and this is a little like one. Mrs. Hinch seems like a lovely person but I would of been happy with just a book full of exciting cleaning tips and hacks without the life story inbetween... it's nice that she added this and makes it a homely read but it's just not for me, I don't appreciate those parts just because I'm too much of an obsessive full on story reader that I don't like wasting any minutes reading anything els. BUT her cleaning stratergies are fun and great and yes, I did have a late night trip to the store and filled the trolley with great cleaning products that smell Devine... including zoflora!

I have started my new year by getting my Monica on and hinching each room in my home! And I do love sitting down in my cosy lovely made home feeling relaxed in myself and mind knowing that as I cleared each room I cleared my mind and feel so good chilling on a nice evening in. Keeping busy is my all time keeping happy strategy, and keeping busy by cleaning and clearing out is perfect in keeping me appreciative of the beautiful things around me called home :) Home Sweet Home!

Hinch Yourself Happy | Sophie Hinchliffe
⭐⭐⭐⭐ / 5
.
Hinch Yourself Happy is Sophie Hinchliffe (aka Mrs Hinch) talking from her heartl. It's not going to win any prizes for being a work of literary art or anything but this book has soul. @mrshinchhome has poured her heart and soul into this book and it's SO heartwarming.
.
It actually wasn't what I expected. I was expecting a book full of her cleaning tips but it was so much more. I learned who Mrs Hinch is. I got to understand her story and how she got started on her Hinching journey. By the end when she was talking about when she first met Henry I was crying with laughter because I related to every word - it was just like meeting @poppyboxerdog 😂
.
If you're a fan of Mrs Hinch, this is worth a read. She's just such a gorgeous gorgeous soul, inside and out 💜💚

Ok, this isn't something that is life changing. Nor do I think it was mrs Hinch' idea to write this book, she obviously wasn't prepared for it and an editor was highly needed, but either there wasn't one, or they didn't do their job. HOWEVER, I highly enjoyed it! I learned quite a bit, and her voice really shines through the book. You can tell it's written by her, not ghost written by someone else (like SOME people hmmMmmmMM) which I highly enjoyed, as I like her as a person. She just wasn't prepared to actually write a book! If you like the account or her as a person, I do recommend it, otherwise this definitely isn't for you.

I received this as a Christmas present. Beforehand I knew nothing about 'Mrs Hinch' apart from that she's an internet cleaning sensation. Fans would probably enjoy it more than me as there's just as much information about her and her life, background, anxiety issues etc as there is about cleaning. It's a quick read and quite a fun one and she seems like a genuinely sweet person. However it's not well written; the poor grammar and slang grated on me. Also the amount of chemicals and artificial products she uses makes me uncomfortable. We're living in an age where we need to focus on cleaning our homes in more natural, eco-friendly ways.

I loved this book! I only started following Mrs Hinch about a month or two ago but I absolutely love her and my house has never been so clean! 😂🙈 reading her book was so lovely because you can literally hear her voice in your head when you’re reading! She’s not only taught me so many cleaning tips, but she’s also helped in many other ways, a very wise lady! Brilliant book, all the best soph! 💜

If you are expecting great literature, then this isn't the book for you. Having said that Hinch Yourself Happy by Sophie Hinchliffe is a nice little read. Mrs Hinch is a cleaning sensation on Instagram. I didn't actually follow her till after I had read the book. A nice read about how her Instagram fame came about, has cleaning tips and an explanation of her life so far. A nice read.
