And who better to lead us in this charge than Alix Bladfield, former counsellor and columnist and whose parents were once, officially, the oldest couple in Australia.
I highly recommend this book! The writing is engaging, light-hearted and truly motivating, like having a conversation with a knowledgable and empathetic friend. The book provides clear, practical advice on a wide range of interesting health-related topics. Each chapter ends with a set of tips to organize the chapter's main points so you can easily make a plan about what feels most important to you to start working on. My guess is that I'll re-read this guide periodically.
This book is one of my absolute favorites. I've read it four times already, and I look forward to revisiting it many more times in the future. I've even shared it with family and friends as a gift. What I love is Alix’s writing style—engaging and clear—and the way she brings together a diverse range of experts. Their practical, down-to-earth advice is always easy to follow, making it not only insightful but also accessible. Thank you, Alix :)
Loved the book! I read it in two days accidentally because I got hooked. When I first start reading it I thought “oh no, another self-help book telling me what I already know”. But then, I kept reading and was pleasantly surprised all the new scientific things I learned. Two days later, I was finished haha.
It was very interesting learning about what vegetables are particularly bad for chemicals and this effecting gut health. It was interesting learning about the necessity to practice mobility of the joints and related it to grease. Or learning about UVA and UVB. Also, I thought it was interesting about why it’s bad to look at screens for lack of blinking and how looking away for 20 seconds or so every often can help because you blink more. Very interesting read, highly recommend!
