The three fae kings of Valora, each cursed with blindness, must find their fated mates if they want to regain their sight. One falls for a human instead. Another is being hunted by the murderous witches who cursed him. And the last is trying to convince his reluctant bride to stay in a world that isn’t her home. These pairs have epic journeys ahead of them, full of mayhem, magic, and lots of steam.
THE FAE KING'S CURSE Kirian and I were just twelve years old when I pulled him from the icy waters of the creek behind my house. As he looked in my direction with unseeing lavender eyes, I quickly realized our age was just about the only thing we had in common. He spoke with an accent, he had pointy ears, and he was so beautiful it made my heart ache. Oh, and he claimed to be a fae prince cursed by witches who stole his sight.
I thought he was crazy from hypothermia. Turns out, he wasn’t, and for some reason he keeps coming back. But a day in my world is a year in his. Every time I see him, he’s older. Wiser. Hotter.
Over the past six years, I’ve tried not to fall in love with him because the terms of the curse are If he doesn’t wait for his fated mate in all ways, including an innocent (or not-so-innocent) kiss, he’ll be blind forever.
So when Kirian kisses me and pulls me through the portal to his realm, I make it my mission to do some damage control. It’d be a whole lot easier if he wasn’t determined to marry me... And if someone wasn’t trying to murder me every step of the way.
THE FAE KING'S DREAM The first time I meet Damon, he rescues me from a nightmare. Literally. I’m stuck in a coma, and my mind is forcing me to relive the horrific accident that put me in this state over and over again. The gorgeous fae king is the only one who can give me peace.
As if the dream can’t get any weirder, he tells me we’re soul mates. He says he can fix my banged-up brain. He wants to be my hero.
Little does he know, I just might end up saving him. Because once I wake up, the real challenge begins. A bunch of vengeful witches want him dead, and they’ll stop at nothing to seal his fate.
But I’ve got plans of my own. The coven has caused too much tragedy, and I’ll defend my newfound love, even if it’s the last thing I do. And it just might be, because if Damon doesn’t survive, neither will I.
THE FAE KING'S PRIZE When I wake up at a female auction in a world I don’t recognize, all I can think about is getting back home to Texas. I want absolutely nothing to do with a realm called Valora, magic, faeries, or being sold to the highest bidder.
But the Day Realm king has other plans.
Zander says I’m his fated mate. I don’t believe him. That doesn’t stop him from tricking me into marrying him, though. It doesn’t matter if I argue or run—he won’t let me go.
I should hate him. Instead, I find myself ridiculously attracted to the stubborn, broody man. Sometimes he terrifies me, so I don’t know why his rare smiles give me warm tingles or why his arms make me feel safe.
Everything about Valora is confusing, but after just a short time here, I realize something—this place is full of dangers that are way more frightening than my new husband, and staying by his side just might be my only option.

This book was outstanding! It was filled with action, drama, romance, humor, and so much more. What I really liked about this book was how descriptive everything was written. This is a slow burn, which I thought was perfect for this story with Kirian and Quinn. Especially since Kirian lives one year in his world while Quinn’s is one day instead. That means Kirian has had two thousand years to get to know Quinn and fall in love with her. I really enjoyed that you get to read about when they first met at such a young age. The relationship between Quinn and Kirian is so heartwarming and sweet. This book is sweet but also a little steamy which I loved.
The Fae King’s Dream | 5 stars
This is the full second book in the Between Dawn and Dusk series. This is Damon’s story, who is king of the Dream Realm after his parents stepped down. Just like his cousins, Damon has been blind since birth because of a curse the witches put on all of them. Damon will be blind until he finds his fated mate. He is a dream walker and the only way he can see is through others dreams. He has been thousands of years for his mate and finally he has found her. The bad thing is she was in an accident and is now in a coma. Will Damon be able to save her?
Dang, this book was definitely an interesting adventure full of surprises! Since reading the first book I’ve been addicted to this series and I couldn’t wait to read Damon’s story. Whitley is so strong and even when things weren’t going well she still fought. Damon, of course was very funny and sweet. He was also possessive of his mate which I loved! This is a beautiful love story that you won’t be able to put down. It’s sweet, funny, romantic, and full of action!
The Fae King’s Prize | 5 Stars
This is the third book in the Between Dawn And Dusk series and let me tell you it did not disappoint!
This is Zander’s story and the one I was the most excited for. Zander finds his mate, Maelyn, while he and his men are stopping another auction to save the women that have been captured. Unfortunately for Zander he has to try and convince Maelyn that they are indeed mates. All while just trying to stay alive.
This was such a great story and I really loved Zander! He is a griffin shifter after all! He might be different from the others, but he is so sweet and caring when it comes to his mate. Maelyn is such a strong character and I thought she was a very unique character as well. *in a good way* 😂🖤 This book is full of romance, danger, a little humor, and of course I had my moments of thinking “what just happened???” For real though this was such a beautiful end to the series and I’m so glad everyone found their happily ever after. It definitely wasn’t easy for them, but in the end it was all worth it. Annnddddd what I loved is that they are all virgins! It just added more the fated mates plot!
This is such a beautiful and romantic series about Fae and their fated mates. I always love reading books about fae and when you add in mates it’s just 👌. I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves fantasy romance!
The Fae King's Curse Sometimes I get to read a beautiful fairytale love story, one where I get to fall in love, chapter by chapter, line by line, word by word, this one happened to start at 12 years old. So beautiful, it made my heart ache with all the sweet feels. There is not enough stars for this book, so I’ll give it infinity stars...I know, right. Jamie Schlosser creates a fantasy world….I want to go and go I did. This book was everything, these two were everything. I have been done with this book for quite a few days, but I wasn’t sure how to put my book love into words, and I know that my review cannot possibly do this book justice. Truly one of my favorite books...ever. I loved it that much, I actually debated on whether to read it again right after, see, that good. These two meet when they’re 12, Quinn saves Kirian, starting a beautifully epic love story. After their first meeting, Kirian comes back everyday to spend time with Quinn. One day in our world, is one year in his. Ok, so the math on this puts him at over 2000 years old by the time she turns 18...to say he was an older man...pfft...is an understatement. Anyway, he comes back yearly to see her, which will make you swoon, he even says, “There’s nowhere else I’d rather go,”. He gets one portal a year for his birthday, to travel through, and he uses it to see her, every year. I know, I know...these two...all the dang sweet feels. Despite his curse, he wants her to marry him and be his, when she turns 18, he takes her back to his world and this is where their journey truly begins. This was a safe read. With 2 virgin fated mates that will have you falling in love too. These two had my heart and they were definitely the definition of relationship goals. Beautiful and sexy times. Every emotion you can feel, I laughed, I loved, I cried...every single emotion, this book had it all. Great storyline, fairies, realms, portals, witches, magic, gnomes...oh, I adored the gnomes, with light humor and of course a bad guy...because it wouldn’t be right without one. An great epilogue and hea. Uh...next book please...hopefully there will be a next book????
The Fae King's Dream You ever read a book that was beautiful? Or so beautiful it grips your heart with so much emotion? This is it, actually the whole series is what I would describe as beautiful. I always love my true soulmates, add in the fantasy aspect and I am in awe of this beautiful series with all the feels. I feel like this book gives new meaning to the phrase “see you in your dreams”. Damon is a Dream Walker, he sees his mate, Whitley aka little carrot, in her dreams, and then the adventure begins, like an unimaginable chess match. Such a fantastic storyline, so many twist, turns and oh shit moments. This book will have you on the edge of your seat, anxiously reading what comes next. And the emotions, all the feels, I actually sobbed like a baby during some of the book, every emotion. Loved the humor, Damon’s human sayings, so funny. These two together are quite the power couple, and honestly, I’m not sure there’s much they can’t do together. True mate relationship goals all the way. We get to read about all of our favorites from previous books. Kirian, Quinn, Astrid, and some new favorites, like some of the Sprites, and Zander. Safe read with a wonderful epilogue and a hea. More please.
The Fae King's Prize This was one of my three most anticipated books for this year….and it did not disappoint. I loved it so much. This is one of the most beautiful series I’ve ever read. My Zander is here, and he will capture your heart. Where Zander is a bit rougher around the edges, his love for his mate is nothing short of heartfelt. Zander finds his mate, Maelyn, while he and his men are infiltrating another auction to save the women being taken. And of course because Zander doesn’t have the fairytale Kirian and Damon have, he has to convince his mate that they are mates. All while trying to take down the bad guys. Safe read, and great storyline. And the award goes to….Zander...for the best Fae king dirty talker...I know, right. Add to that he’s a griffin shifter badass...oh, and a Virgin fated mate who looks like that (psst, the cover)...he is the total package. See...you really are welcome. He and Mae also play hide-and-seek, the adult version *wags eyebrows*, and I completely prefer their version. Feather shenanigans too. We get to read about all of our favorites from the previous books, Kirian, Quinn, Damon, Whitley, and Astrid. A wonderful epilogue and hea.
And we get additional epilogues with Kirian and Quinn in the human world, these two have my heart.
A 2000 year old fae, who’s known a girl since she was 12, kidnaps her, when she tells him she’s leaving him to get an education? I…………. Is grooming and p*dophilia not a concern for this author? The “hero” even refers to the child heroine as “young one” *DRY HEAVES* I made it 8 chapters in before the idiotic content and (ironically) juvenile writing sent me to the return button.
Dislikes **Mild spoilers** Physiologically impossible sex focused on violence toward female genitalia and male arousal (Seriously, apply the terms pinch, tweak, roll, or hard vacuum to a man’s genitalia in your head. If you also wince and cringe at the callous treatment of sensitive sex organs, you may want to skip over the sex scenes. Also, if it isn’t pleasurable to think about having that done to a man’s genitals, why be violent towards a woman’s genitals? Yuck.)
Next, the infamous g-spot doesn’t exist and pretending it does places focus on penetration during sex, which arouses men because their genital nerves are stimulated but doesn’t actually arouse most women. Most women don’t physically have sensitive nerve endings inside to be stimulated. Most women cannot orgasm based on penetration. They will not magically become more aroused because of penetration, because they anatomically can’t. Every time the author takes focus away from the clitoral area, the woman will feel LESS arousal and not more. I’m not even interested in reading about sex but it’s less annoying if the information is at least anatomically accurate for other readers to read, or if it’s even realistic. Here it really just offers misinformation about basic biological facts for the book’s target audience, women.
Additionally, hymens do not act as a “barrier,” may stretch during sex, and have no nerve endings. Some women are not born with hymens at all. Hymens that do exist cannot be used to accurately determine virginity, typically do not offer pain, and do not necessarily disappear after sex. Failing to communicate and wait for her to be ready is inconsiderate and that is what causes pain. This pain could be easily remedied by helping her orgasm first, assuming he actually loves her and isn’t just using her to control her and for his pleasure (again, Ew).
Ignoring kidnapping (I basically lost respect for the other queens when they didn’t honor Maelyn’s self agency and require Zander to respect her choices. The author just glides over the trauma this would really cause and no one has the power to hold Zander accountable, despite ignoring how bad it is or briefly mentioning how bad it is. This glorifies rape culture and its disgusting.
Forced Marriage is sex slavery and it’s perverted. Ask the sex trafficking victims it applies to. None of them are happy about it when it happens. Just yuck.
Glorifying rape and pretending it’s okay because she’s sexually aroused doesn’t make everything okay. It’s still rape if she didn’t consent to the closeness or contact prior to the interaction. Arousing her first just normally means she will also have trauma from believing her own body betrayed her. It won’t lead to s healthy, sexually fulfilling marriage.
Children obey parents who have their best interests in mind. Grown adults are not expected to obey spouses. Considering “spanking” her without her consent in a sexual context is disgusting. Infantilizing Maelyn, and all the many ways Zander does this during sex, is perverted. it doesn’t quite reach the level of pedophilia but it is really bad.
Coercing Maelyn into a no-win deal that isn’t really a fair deal is emotionally manipulation and abuse to pretend she consented and trick her into believing she agreed to a relationship when she didn’t. It’s emotional and mental abuse combined with more rape. More yuck. It’s nauseating at this point.
Requiring obedience during sex without asking her if she’s okay with it first or even if that is something that arouses her is just creepy. If she didn’t enthusiastically say yes without being coerced, it’s rape. Non-consensual sexual activity is rape.
Taking away Maelyn’s choice and self agency leads to her feeling helpless. The loss of self-agency and feeling helpless because she is threatened by the environment puts her at risk for PTSD, and it isn’t romantic or fun to read about.
The other two stories were okay, but the characters are kind of tainted because they never stood up for Maelyn in any meaningful way that resulted in a concrete outcome protecting her self-agency and preventing emotional trauma. This is not normal, it’s not healthy, and it’s not entertaining. Please stop writing about characters that rationalize or glorify rape.
The Fae King's Curse (5/5): Well, it’s official. I love Jamie Schlosser, no matter what genre she writes.
The Fae King’s Curse felt epic. It had so much going for it: immersive world building, interesting side characters, sweet and honest romance, witty dialogue, and vivid characterizations.
This was a slow burn, which isn’t unexpected when Kirian lives one year in his world compared to one day in Quinn’s. In fact, that’s one of the best parts of this story – Kirian essentially has two thousand years of getting to know and falling in love with Quinn.
The fae world and curse were interesting and added to the story without taking anything away from what’s most important – the relationship and romance of Quinn and Kirian.
Absolutely captivating and words can’t express how wonderful The Fae King’s Curse is. -----
The Fae King's Dream (5/5): The Fae King’s Dream is the second in the Between Dawn and Dusk series and it focuses on one of my favorite things: fated mates. Having one person out there that is perfectly made for you? That’s the stuff of dreams.
And speaking of dreams, our main character Damon is a dream walker. That’s the only time he can see, as he’s been blind since birth due due to the witch’s curse (just like our buddy Kirian in book #1!). His parents are in the human realm searching for his mate, and they’ve found her…in critically condition in a coma. That’s where Damon and Whitney first meet, since a coma can be a form of sleep.
Once they are reunited and Whitney is on the mend, magic and suspense just keep happening. One thing I loved about this book was the lack of romantic angst. Once Damon and Whitney meet there is no question who they are to one another. While it’s not exactly smooth sailing (I legit cried at one point!), it’s satisfying to have a couple so into the other without it being overbearing and boring.
Loved revisiting Quinn and Kirian and the insight into Zander. Between Dawn and Dusk is a series I’ll be coming back to in the future. -----
The Fae King's Prize (5/5): I adore this series. Every book has held up on it’s own.
Maelyn is kidnapped and wakes up in another world, planning to be sold on the auction block as a slave. King Zander is there, attempting to infiltrate and shut down the abductions. He hears Maelyn’s voice and immediately recognizes her as his fated mate. But Maelyn doesn’t feel the same and Zander is the “shocked Pikachu” meme.
Even after Zander tricks Mae into staying with him, he has to woo her the old-fashioned way. The relationship between the two is very sweet and adorable. It was more of a slow burn, but I appreciated that the two got to know each other and let their feelings grow before anything steamy happened.
Fun, exciting, angtsy, and magical, The Fae King’s Prize was a wonderful end to the trilogy. It was a great mix of action and romance and I couldn’t get enough of it. Jamie Schlosser has a wonderful way with words and I will read anything she publishes. -----
The Fae King's Curse Extended Epilogue (5/5): These six little chapters were an adorable addition to The Fae King’s Curse. Quinn and Kirian have come back to the human world to see her parents on Thanksgiving. While only a few months have passed in that realm, it’s been nearly a century in the Fae realm.
It was short and sweet, and the interactions between Quinn and her parents were both heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. It was a lovely read to end the box set.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I FLOVE this series! Valora remains just as fascinating and enchanting on the 5th read as it is on the first. And the cursed Fae Kings are powerful warriors with amazing magical powers, and have honed their physical prowess to the point that their cursed blindness is less a vulnerability than an asset. And their finding their fated mates are equally fraught with difficulty and peril, each in unique and gripping ways. Kirian and Quinn—the hero and heroine of The Fae King’s Curse—are a best friends-to-lovers story set to the backdrop of living in separate worlds that move on separate timelines. A fascinating introduction to Valora, Jamie Schlosser’s Fae realm, with all it’s beauty, magic, and dangers alike. The Fae King’s Dream features Damon and Whitley, brought together by a tragedy that requires Damon to come to her rescue or lose everything. And over the course of her becoming accustomed to Valora and getting to know Damon, secrets of her past change everything. If you aren’t fully hooked by time you finish Kirian and Quinn’s story, you will be not far into Damon and Whitley’s. And in The Fae King’s Prize, we’re introduced to the mysterious King Zander, the final cousin and King of Valora. Zander’s magic is…unusual, even for a Fae, and his Mother wasn’t his Father’s fated mate, but a human spirited from the human world after the plague (learn more about that in the previous books, especially the series prequel). Unlike his Father, Zander doesn’t condone the slave trade of women, and works to abolish the practice. Which is how he finds Maelyn, his fully human fated mate. And he has to work extra hard to win her, thanks to the circumstances surrounding her arrival in Valora. Their story is somewhat rockier, the struggles harder to surmount, and their story overall more heart-wrenching than the previous two. But no less gripping and compelling of a read. And, exclusive to this set, there’s a BONUS epilogue featuring Quinn and Kirian, after all the upheaval of the realms are settled, and they finally make the trip back to visit her family. This novella is short but sweet, and hella steamy, because Kirian and Quinn still can’t keep their hands off each other, even after nearly a century together in Valora. Deeply satisfying for fans of the series to come back to the first cursed King. If you’re new to Jamie, this fantastical series isn’t to be missed. If you’re branching out from her contemporary reads, trust me, she writes fantasy just as well as she does contemporary. Perfect for fans of Karen Lynch, Jennifer Armentrout (especially her Wicked series), Nikki Jefford (especially her Royal Conquest saga), and Melissa Haag (or her alter-ego M.J. Haag)!
🗡𝒯𝒽𝑒 𝐹𝒶𝑒 𝒦𝒾𝓃𝑔'𝓈 𝒞𝓊𝓇𝓈𝑒🗡 This book was my introduction to Jamie Schlosser's and I am so glad that I found this author. This storyline takes age gap & twists it is such a fun way. Kirian, a prince of the Fae realm, has been cursed to be blind until he finds his fated mate, if he so much as kisses one who is not his fate, he will be blind forever, only breaking the curse when he finds his fated one. Every year on his birthday he uses a portal to travel to the human realm to see his friend, a human. For Quinn she watches her friend grow up quickly before her eyes each day she sees him, since one day in the human realm equals 1 year in the fae.
These two have such chemistry together, loving each other for years until their time is right to be together. The world that has been created is so well done. I love everything about it & I wish I could travel there. Such a great story & I can't wait to be lost in the next book.
💤𝒯𝒽𝑒 𝐹𝒶𝑒 𝒦𝒾𝓃𝑔'𝓈 𝒟𝓇𝑒𝒶𝓂 💤 The first time that Whitley sees Damon she is in a coma after a nearly fatal car accident, perks of Damon being a Fae king and dream Walker. Damon has been searching for thousands of years for his fated mate, the missing piece of his soul, without her his curse will never be lifted. Finally finding his mate in Whitley is only the beginning, together they must find a way to stop the coven of witches who cursed Damon and his cousins as well as set a plague one of the Fae kingdoms.
I absolutely loved the prequel story and first book in this series, this one was just as amazing! There is action, adventure, amazing steam and heartbreak all within this book. You will shed a few tears as you read. There may also be a few times you yell at the kindle that they are being an idiot, hoping the character listens to you. Absolutely five stars!
🦅𝒯𝒽𝑒 𝐹𝒶𝑒 𝒦𝒾𝓃𝑔'𝓈 𝒫𝓇𝒾𝓏𝑒🦅 Another great book by Jamie Schlosser! I have loved every other book in her Between Dawn and Dusk series and Zander’s book is no exception.
Zander has so much depth as a character and he needs a woman like Maelyn. Maelyn is caring, loving and compassionate to Zander’s booding and stubbornness. The opposition in their demeanor, plus the whole tricking Maelyn into marriage thing, makes for a very interesting dynamic between the two. Both grow so much as individuals and together in this story and I absolutely loved it!
This story is a wonderful fated mates fantasy romance. It is more a of a slow burn, but absolutely worth the wait 🔥🔥🔥.
This series has had so many great characters, and I really hope we get to come back one day. The world that was created in these books is so captivating and I would love to get lost in it over and over again.
My review for the Fae King’s Curse extended epilogue:
Oh my goodness!! This was exactly what I never knew I needed! I loved Quinn & Kirian from the other books, so to see them again in this bonus extended epilogue was utterly delightful. In just six chapters, I fell for them all over again. It made me so very happy that I’ve had these characters in my life and in my heart. Such a perfect little tidbit, like a sweet cherry on the top. :)
This series is AMAZING! Like, the world this author created is just beautiful, and I love the plots of each couple's story. There's adventure & excitement & healing & hope & they build well on each other as well. I would say each story CAN be read as a stand alone - each couple is unique & has a fully formed story. However, the world is so rich, your experience will be 100 times better by reading in order, which having the stories in a box set can help with! PLUS! Bonus epilogues this way!! ; )
This is an extra special boxset guys because it has a very sweeeeet bonus epilogue that will have fans squealing for more! It felt so very amazing to read this epilogue. I loved revisiting these characters. Everything about this epilogue was pretty freaking amazing. Seeing Kirian and Quinn visit Quinn's parents in the mortal realm was really cool. Fans everywhere will melt with this special epilogue!
I absolutely love this series and I just can’t get enough. Constantly guessing what will happen next and enjoying every bit of their story while the fall in love. Not to mention, the amount of spice to the story makes you want to keep reading and wanting to know more about each couple. I highly recommend reading. This is the first series I ever read that was a psychological mystery thriller and I’m so glad I gave it a chance. I can’t wait to read more of her books!
I can't say enough about this series! I love it. This author shows you a world you never imagined. These 3 books follow different King's trying to find their fated mates with a lot of twists and turns. Even witches, sprites, and griffins thrown in. Loved all 3 of these stories and then the new epilogue just great. You get Quinn and Kirian visiting her parents. Ready for the next book!!
I rarely read fantasy because so many are dark, but this world that the author created is wonderful! I loved the Fae Kings Curse the best but they all had characters that I enjoyed. I like how Jamie Schlosser writes loyal characters with integrity. She has become one of my must read authors. I liked this even more than her good guy series.
Books one and two are very good, but book three is not!
Sugar coat all you want, but Zander kidnaped mae and held her against her will. Stockholm syndrome does not work for me, fated mates or not. That may change as the book goes on, but I can not keep reading things like that, so... Dnf.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I am not one for fae stories but I have to say this was really cute. A good amount of spicy and a nice plot with plenty of twists. I love the inclusion of sprites and trolls among others.I am kinda sad that we didn't get to figure out what happened to the last of the coven but I guess that means we will have another book soon.....
This world of fae, witches, griffins and numerous other magical creatures will capture your heart. All three blind kings in one series set. Watch them find their fated mates, fight their enemies and find their happily ever afters.
I flew through these books and absolutely loved them. I couldn't put them down!! I was also excited to learn a new book from the series was just released, so I quickly read that too. Loved all the characters and the settings in the books!
If you enjoy fantasy fiction, fairies, trolls and the like..... I absolutely suggest these three glorious books. Super sweet and saucy and absolute page Turner.
Loved the world building, the character development was amazing, the spice was incredible. This was a great read! I can't wait to see more of this world.
