Is it better to write well, or to be well known?

Elliot McKenzie is a prolific YA writer. Having published four books by the time she left high school, she is ready to branch out. For her fifth novel, she decided to use dual point of views. Wanting the male point of view to ring true, she needs a co-author.

In her search for a co-author, she encounters Beck Daniels, a cocky introvert with the habit of speaking his mind. After their first meeting, Beck is the last person Elliot wants to work with. That is, until she reads his writing. As they begin to write together, Beck challenges Elliot's formulaic and clichéd writing, while Elliot calls out Beck's self-sabotage and procrastination.

Mix in a crazy family, her sister's wedding and a publishing deadline; and Elliot might discover she has more of a voice than she thought.

Elliot and Ben. Just that. These are awkwardly awesome. Clean romance, awesome plot, great story. They complete each other so so well! I love El's quirky self and how attentive and intelligent Ben is.

I fell in love with them! Also, Milo and Cece! That's what an awesome side character looks like.

I love this book. I don’t think I will ever not love it because in this book I discovered my humor!

With that said this book needs to be condensed by half. The jokes are great but there’s too many of them all the time and they slow the whole thing down. I believe with that change it would be a snappier read.

Still, crazy family and humor, it’s a win!

Need to laugh? Read this. Need to escape? Read this. Need to find someone who gets your odd humor? READ THIS! The sibling dynamics are on point and the character growth is fun to see!
