The Smuggler's Chase: A Chase Fulton Novel

Rate this book
Out of Time . . . Out of Options . . .Out of Nowhere
When a United States Supreme Court justice is abducted by an international cartel of terrorists, American covert operative Chase Fulton and his team of tier-one operators are ordered to find and rescue the victim, but that’s only phase one of the mission that may change the landscape of international diplomacy forever.

In a tropical paradise where vacationers see nothing less than perfection in every detail, from The Bahamas to South America, Chase and the team are forced to dive beneath the flawless surface and into the depths of terroristic depravity to unravel a web of unthinkable atrocity and infiltrate and devour an evil like none they’ve ever faced.
When the U.S. military isn’t an option, and the FBI is shackled by bureaucracy, only the invisible forces capable of operating beyond the limits of civility and front-page exposure can crush the tyranny overshadowing the American geopolitical scene and restore order to the highest court.

Join the warriors as they once again stare evil in the eye and refuse to blink. Stretching their capabilities and their very souls to limits like never before, five men hold countless lives and the foundations of freedom in their hands. But as they face a fearless enemy with nearly limitless resources, the team must wage a war like no other while racing against the relentless clock and the horrific consequences of failure.

From the shallows of the tranquil Caribbean, to the depths of the soul-wrenching unimaginable, let Cap Daniels take you on an adventure you’ll never forget and leave you questioning if freedom could stand without men like Chase Fulton and his team.

Creator of The Chase Fulton Novels series and The Avenging Angel - Seven Deadly Sins Series, Cap Daniels is a former sailing charter captain, scuba and sailing instructor, pilot, Air Force veteran, and civil servant of the U.S. Department of Defense. Raised far from the ocean in rural East Tennessee, his early infatuation with salt water was sparked by the fascinating, and sometimes true, sea stories told by his father, a retired Navy chief petty officer. Those stories of adventure on the high seas sent Cap in search of adventure of his own, which eventually landed him on Florida’s Gulf Coast where he and his wife Melissa spend as much time as possible on, in, and under the waters of the Emerald Coast.

With a headful of larger-than-life characters and their thrilling exploits, Cap pours his love of adventure and passion for the ocean onto the pages of his action adventure series, The Chase Fulton Novels and his new series Avenging Angel - Seven Deadly Sins.

Inspired by the likes of John D. Macdonald’s Travis McGee, Randy Wayne White’s Doc Ford, and Wayne Stinnett’s Jesse McDermitt, Cap creates thrilling tales of action and adventure set throughout the Caribbean and coastal Florida and Georgia by intertwining nautical adventure with international espionage. Cap’s Chase Fulton Novels series promises to keep readers on the edge of their seats, trying to guess what new danger or adventure lies just around the corner.

The Avenging Angel - Seven Deadly Sins series is a spin-off starring the most controversial and intriguing character from the Chase Fulton Novels. After defecting to the United States, Anastasia "Anya" Burinkova, a former Russian SVR assassin and intelligence operative puts her lethal skill set into action against the powerful Russian Mafia. In this gritty, organized-crime thriller series, Cap Daniels takes his readers into the dark underworld of the Russian Mafia weaving actual events into fiction to leave the reader's heart pounding and their fingers itching to turn the page.

How to kill a reading slump

I’d been in a reading slump for several weeks, but even though I had made a stab at starting several books on my kindle that I really wanted to read, I just couldn’t get past the first few pages. Then Cap Daniels released #16 in this series: The Smuggler’s Chase. Again, I made a stab at it, but this time it swallowed me in: Hook, Line and Sinker! Cap is such a good story-teller, I often feel like I’m sitting around a cozy campfire, listening to tales that no one else has ever heard. I’m drawn into the world of Chase Fulton, invited to be a part of his team, offered sometimes harrowing adventure and  as always, learning opportunities, especially about boats and planes. This one was very emotional for most Daniels fans; a bit of sadness that will be felt for a while. But also quite uplifting in ways we’ve come to expect from a Chase Fulton romp. I especially like the 'Author's Notes' at the end. Thank you, Cap Daniels, for bringing me out of that slump!

beyond Amazing

I don’t know how Daniels does it. This was the best yet in the Chase Fulton series. A story that was so well told fulled with the ups and downs that leave you breathless. Our much loved characters, plus a few more, lives up to the challenge this story demanded and then some. I read it in one sitting, I couldn’t bare to put it down. The thrills and spills are epic and the book is just a total winner. One of the most satisfying reads for a while. Thanks Cap! You ve done it again.

Quite A Different Chase Fulton Story…

First this one’s different. Way different. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but to find out why you’re going to have to read it to find out, as I don’t do spoilers.

I will say that I will be very interested in seeing how future books in this series evolve.

A very good, but extremely surprising read. I highly recommend it.

Awww..I gotta wait until May!

I'm not sure how many of Cap Daniels' Chase Fulton series I've reviewed, but there isn't one that didn't get five stars, aesthetics said so in this arena or not. I've barely done anything since I started reading the three book collection at the beginning of the series. it's been better than binge watching Marvel movies!

Daniels began the series in the late 90's, with Fulton's athletic career -ending putout home plate collision, saving the College World Series for his team but destroying his hand, and over the course of sixteen volumes turned him into someone whose team would "follow him through he'll in gasoline soaked underwear.".

Along the way Daniels has used his own love of flying and sailing as background for some hairy shootouts, as well as nicely capturing the banter of comrades. There are more than few verbal exchanges that had me laughing.

And his skill within the genre deserves mention. I'm writing a series with recurring characters, an author needs to insert some backstory. Some cut and paste character descriptions. The easy way is cutting and pasting; keeping a consistent style by virtue of lazy writing. To Daniels' credit, I don't think k ever read The same text twice. Each book in the series takes time to create continuing characters for new readers without boring fans with the same old, same old. Hats off to him.

This may be the only book intensities that hasn't ended as a cliffhanger, by the way. No applied here, but this time there's a pause in the action that demand some changes. Looking forward to what's next.

Well Chase and his team are at it again! This time going from Hollywood and attending a lavish movie premiere to on another mission! An exciting adventure you won't want to miss.

I love the way this writer spins his stories. You feel like you are right there in the action and if you have read any of these books, you will know what I mean. When Chase and his wife take their catamaran out on the ocean, you can feel the wind!

This one is full of suspense as a terrorist group has kidnapped a Supreme Court Judge and demanding all kinds of money from the US. With a call from President, Chase is on this one dealing with the Navy Seals, more shooting then you can imagine. But, will this be the last one for Chase? He is critically hurt, with just his friend, Hunter and there is no way they see to get out of this one.

I love these books.

This is my first and maybe my last review...I just don't do many reviews. But I have to say I am thoroughly smitten with every character and every "mission" these guys and gals take on. I really enjoy the character development of all the players, especially Chase. He's always learning and using his newfound knowledge to make himself, his team, his friendships, and his marriage better. And who couldn't love Mongo, Clark, Hunter, Singer, Penny, Skipper, Disco, Earl...and more. I'd love to go flying with them, but not on a mission! Can't wait to start the next book....happy reading from 81 year young grandma.

Another masterpiece by Cap!

Seals, halo night jumps and all the action any reader could want. But as a veteran myself, I still love the respect for our military that runs through every page of a Cap Daniels story. Chase and crew do it all in this one and I won’t ruin it for anyone who happens to read this review but I’m certain that the twists in this one are going to allow for Cap to include another class of people to fall in love with what he will show they can accomplish, no matter the challenge be it physical or mental.

A natural leader, Chase and the team work a case with support and surprise in store.

Never a disappointment, the level of commitment to maintaining honor and dignity for human rights, Chase works with his team of elites to restore order and justice. Their ability to do what's right in the face of evil can restore Faith in His and country. The skills of his team with the direction for keeping people safe, yet unaware of their presence makes these stories fantastic! Character development and storyline are superb.

I have read all 16 of the Chase Fulton books. I feel like I know the characters and am looking forward to continuing to read.

These books are well written, the plot is well developed and as a Reader I always am left hurrying to the next book in the series.

I highly recommend these books. It is great to see well developed books of this type that leave out the nasty language or descriptive sex scenes that are pervasive in other writer's work of this type. I love that I can hand these books to my teenager.

always phenomenal!

Read them all!! Cap Daniels is one of the best. His characters can’t be real because every woman would want one of them! I wish I knew where to find these kind of men when I was younger but I don’t think they make ‘em like that anymore. 🇺🇸 If I’m wrong ladies, go hang around your nearest military base and be particularly choosy - find one that treats you like you’re as life sustaining as their next breath. Can’t wait to see where Chase goes from here…

Not Impressed

I have read all 16 books by Cap Daniels, loved them all except #16, I did not like reading that Chase lost his foot, and Dre his leg, yes I know it's fiction but to me these stories are real , there was no real reason for those things to happen to these fictional heroes.
Hopefully #17 is better, let the villains lose there foot or legs.
If the author or other readers don't like this review, well I don't

Smugglers Chase

From the first book that Cap Daniels wrote, I thought this man is a good writer.
I have read everything he has written.
Now I am of the opinion that he is a great author not just a writer.
Just read his stories and you become involved in his stories.
Now waiting on the next one.

Wow

I’ve read every book of this series and while they have all been amazing this is the first to make me say “wow”. The loss of a leg, foot and lives floored me. As a Marine veteran, I’d like to see the Corps represented on the team being that we already have the Army, Air Force and the Navy. Who knows?

Better and better

Mr. Daniels keeps improving on every story! His characters keep evolving and no one is perfect! This story affects me just like the other 15! I want to read #17'starting tomorrow, but instead I will read this one a second time just like the other books! Please write faster! Lol! Thanks!

For me, the story should be well written and leave the reader wanting more. This one was definitely well written, but left me disappointed, and not wanting more. It killed my interest in the characters.
It felt like the final chapter in a well written series, and after finishing it, I don't want any more. Sad, because I enjoyed the ride.....

Ok but there have been better.

This series started well and only got better. This book is a step down from the last one and definitely not as good as what I will call the middle. The only real action was at the very end and it took a long time to get there. I am buying the next book with hopes of a return to the kind of writing I have come to expect. Please make it enjoyable.

BEST Yet!

I look so forward to each new episode of this series I thought I couldn't be surprised or more enamored, but this (Although I've loved almost every one) adventure was so exciting and action packed, it was without a doubt THE Best of the 16 books of Chase Daniels I've read... Bravo Cap Daniels!

It is now time to take a deep breath!

It is hard to articulate the best part of this book.... But, like every one of these books, the end is the best part! Every one of my emotions has run the gauntlet from start to finish, and now I know I need to begin breathing again! This book is mind blowing!

Daniels’ Delivers Another Thriller !

Chase Fulton stories never disappoint. This action packed episode covering 2 continents and several Caribbean Islands has personal drama, vicious combat, humor, a fast pace and multiple plots that interconnect. This ‘no-name’ group of cowboys as some call them in this book save the day (s) but lose some lives in the process.

Dang I missed Chase. After finishing up the last book I stepped back into a re-read of another favorite series. While I did enjoy reacquainting myself with anther character, Smugglers Chase reaffirmed to me that Cap’s stories about Chase and his band of patriots owns this niche. The extreme detail shared puts the reader inside the scene and makes it real hard to put down the book. No hints about the story or any spoilers here. Grab this and read it for yourself. Outstanding!

This may be the one book in this series that makes ya mad. It did me, as I was sorely surprised at the significant turn of events for the characters. But, Daniels continue to amaze with his story. Nuff said as it’s written well, there’s laughter, fun, adventures, guns, bulkiest flying, etc. then, there’s the character changes! Ya get it all.

Another Chase Fulton adventure that has left me breathless. A U.S. Supreme Court Justice, a Governor and other political figures are kidnapped. The team and Navy Seals perform a daring rescue and suffer catastrophic injuries. HALO parachute jumps, explosions, fire and boat chases add to the excitement. What a movie this would make! Where can Chase go from here with his injury? Retire?

I enjoyed the Chase series 1-15... but this book left me thinking Cap Daniel's went too far too fast. It didn't seem realistic. Chase has too many toys, the President gives him too much, the SEALs wouldn't work with a civilian, there were an unlikely series of kidnappings... it was all too much. I've abandoned the series as this one left a bad taste...

Awesome!

Another great adventure with all action and no filler. The dynamics of the team are still strong. I was excited in chapter 2 and bummed in chapter 3. Sorry no spoilers! Looking forward to the next one! Great job, Cap Daniels!

WOW

By far the best book in the Chase Fulton series so far…
This one was a very different read to the others, filled with a lot of emotion as well as the usual violence and excitement.
It was a bit soppy with the film screening but boy oh boy did it deliver! The action scenes are always so well written.
Do yourself a favour and buy every single book in the series - I guarantee you will not regret it.
Now please @CapDaniels hurry up with the next 16 books because I am well and truly addicted to Chase.

As ALWAYS,

Chock full of adventure, adrenaline, blood, guts and interesting quirks and turns. I'm sorry to see that #17 will be the last one in this series.
Surely Cap will write a different and equally addicting series.

Hero's sacrifice

Love this series, this is one of the best books. Introduced some new character's, action packed and the missions outcomes were not predictable. Many casualties to terrorism made you want the Fulton"s team to get revenge. This is a must read.

This is my favorite book from this author. This story was a page Turner from the start. I love how the author used the characters and how they interact with each other. Can't wait for the next book.
