Good and Evil Magic

For this witch, surviving Halloween will be the death of me
Seriously, being seventeen is difficult enough. I don’t need a pretentious angel telling me to be good and an arrogant demon trying to convince me to be bad whenever it suits them.

To make matters worse Mason, the annoying human who just landed me in a heap of trouble, just won’t go away. Of all nights he wants to be chivalrous he picks tonight.

To get to the witching ceremony I might just have to be bad for good reasons. I mean, what’s the worst that could happen?

Hi everyone, popping in with a little update.

I read reviews and when I saw several mentioning errors I looked into what might have happened. The ebook was updated early in 2024 but it appears the updated copy didn't "stick" on half the retailers. This was an oversight on my behalf, I should have rechecked after uploading to ensure the correct one was live. I have uploaded the 2024 version again across retailers. It may take between 1-3 days for the updated copies to go live and will be available to download again in your purchase history.

I apologise to the readers who received an older version of the ebook and hope you may find it in your heart to give one of my stories another go in the future.

Thank you all for bringing it to my attention.

Happy reading, Jenni

Absolutely Terrible

One of the worst things I have ever read. So many spelling errors, no real plot, no depth, no substance. Felt like I was reading a story where I was supposed to know all the backstory before the first page even started. On top of the fact that they allude to her finding out what type of witch she will be such as necromancy but when it comes time it’s just “a good witch or a bad witch”.
There are so many inconsistencies in this book just one is her complaining about juniors and wanting none at the “party” even though her friends and her and for sure Mason are juniors.
This “book” (which is in quotes because this is really just a poorly constructed wattpad story) was the only downloaded I had whilst out of service and even then if it hadn’t been such a short story I wouldn’t have wasted time finishing it.

It was okay. It lowkey felt like A-one shot fan fiction.

Love the sass of the character. It could have been longer.

I loved Vania's attitude in this - she wasn't a damsel in distress but wasn't always the tough chick either.

I admit that I did like Mason as well - something about him was very endearing and I wish that there was a sequel to this book or something as I want more of these two!

EDIT May 2024 Just want to come back and say I recently read this one again. Was surprised to see comments about the spelling - perhaps Americans don't understand this is written in UK English??? Anyway, I agree with others that I wish that it was longer or there was another story or something it led to - I don't know if that's even possible but I'm being selfish and want more Mason.

This was a hard one because I did enjoy the MC’s attitude and spark. However, another reviewer said it, it felt like something I would read in an upper elementary or lower middle class’s creative writing class. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I feel like this could’ve been so much better given more guidance.

Were there spelling mistakes and grammar mishaps? Yes. Was it unbearably so? No

I really enjoyed this book, it was a nice little comedic read that helped me get back into reading again. And the twist of an ending? ‘French kiss’ it was so refreshing and put my review at a 4.5 ❤️

The only reason this book didn’t get 5/5 was because of the cliche of “guy behaving badly towards a girl because he likes her.” I personally hate that in books. Like sure, he wasn’t violent or bully her as severely as other books. I just don’t like it.

Picked this one up as part of a promo - still working through them all. Was a cute short story. I wish there had been a bit more about what happened next. I don't know if this is setting up a series or not. I liked the best friend the most - found her quirky and fun.
