Cade Henson was ready for a change. After high school, he’d agreed to be a bouncer for his sister’s club, not a dancer. Yet over the course of a year, he’d watched his own life slowly spiral out of control. Until the night he decided it was time to risk it all.
Rynn Lewis was eighteen and pregnant, on the run from her ex-boyfriend, when Cade found her on the streets of Minneapolis. She taught him about friendship and family. She kept him honest and he promised to keep her safe.
I don’t think there are any words to convey how good this book was. I started ‘Fix You’ without any expectations whatsoever and throughout my reading, I thought I knew how it was going to end.
However, I was thrown a curveball I was not prepared for. All I’m left with now are more questions and emotions.
This author has gained a new reader, and I will be on the look out for a 2nd book to follow ‘Fix You’.
I received this book as an advanced review copy for free, and my review has been left voluntarily.
When I say sprint don’t walk to buy this book, I mean it! The book did end on a cliff hanger, which stinks, but makes me want the author to write more. It is one of the best thriller/mystery books I’ve read in a long time. This author is amazing at what they do. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Fix You is 100% worth it. The parallel story telling for each character is fascinating, the relationship build once they meet feels natural, descriptions flow well and put you right into the book, the characterizations are solid and consistent, the darkness is realistic and the humor is subtle enough to balance everything out without cheapening or taking away from the rest. It's a sincere and raw look at two lovely, broken souls that refuse to give up as they journey beyond rock bottom to find things worth living for - even as life tries to repeatedly take it back from them.
I received this ARC from Book Siren, for an honest review. This book was interesting, a quick read and made you want to keep reading. However, I didn’t not really enjoy this book, I couldn’t really see the point and a lot of the plot didn’t seem to come together or see anything happening until the end, I can only assume this is to set it up for future books (if it becomes a series) so I’d say this book disappointed me. I still believe it had potential and the main characters backstories are strongly built it was mainly the overall progress of their lives that was underwhelming.
So much to unpack here! 😅 Overall, I really enjoyed this quick read. I really LOVE that one of the main characters is from Mobile, AL. That is not a common place to highlight and I found it refreshing!
There are so many themes in this book and that’s the only reason I didn’t give it five stars. I felt like it was a lot of history and emotion packed in a short book, not that it’s necessarily a bad thing. I can just see that some people may feel like they are lost.
You get the back story of Cade and Rynn both separately and when they come together you get to see how intense their struggle is to find security. I definitely saw a lot of myself and my past in Rynn so I was emotionally attached to her. You see such a strong will to live and survive in her despite the past. Then you have Cade who wants to provide although Rynn provides him with so much more. He needs her just as much as she needs him. Marty is my favorite character though, he was such a surprise but a happy one ❤️
I would hope there will be a second one and if there is I’M HERE FOR IT!
I graciously received a digital copy of this book from the author and this is my honest opinion.
I received an ARC copy of this book...Fix you isn't my usual read but I really enjoyed it. My heart completely broke for both Rynn and Cade they have been dealt such a sh*tty card in life both let down by the people who should have protected and loved them more than anything.
Cade is a natural caregiver he loves and protects the people closest to him always putting other peoples happiness before his own 🥺💙
Rynn is such a sweetheart all she wants is stability and to feel wanted and loved yet the poor girl can never seem to catch a break 😫💜
I loved how they were two broken souls but took solace in each other... the bond they slowly developed was beautiful especially when they found their place with Marty I adored all three of them and the little family unit they all created together.
I was not prepared at all for that cliffhanger I can honestly say my jaw hit the floor 😲 I'm still trying to process it all... I need more !!! I would definitely recommend this book it will have you on the edge of your seat...💙
Fix You was my first introduction to this author and I was not disappointed! It took a few chapters to get invested in the story. At the beginning, it was hard to keep people straight. But once the characters were off on their own, I couldn't put the book down! It's hard to categorize this book. There's definitely some romantic type feelings going on, but its not a romance. Maybe just contemporary? Its definitely a good coming of age type story, though I was shocked its being marketed towards teens. There's quite a few darker moments with a variety of content warnings, so beware. What really got me was the ending. I'm hoping it ends how it does because its leading us into a sequel. Overall, I really enjoyed this book!

Fix you by J.C. Doan is a quick standalone romance. This thrilling romance focuses between Cade Henson and Rayan lewis. Rynn was eighteen and pregnant, on the run from her ex-boyfriend, when Cade found her on the streets. She kept him honest and he promised to keep her safe.
This is a long book filled with lots of interesting writing and plot points about the two main characters to create a well developed story which I will love re-reading. I highly recommend reading this book and I cannot wait to find more to read by this author.

Holy Moley people, this isn’t your everyday read. I enjoyed the story, told from dual perspectives. It was a bit confusing in the beginning (to keep the characters straight) but that soon remedied itself. Cade and Rynn started from different parts of the country and fate brought them together. They were given one struggle after another and yet, it brought them closer. The story ends on a cliffhanger – one that normally would have me throwing my phone out the window. Once I picked my jaw off the ground, I searched for the authors number (not really) to tell her to get the next book out immediately. If not sooner!
Two lost people find each other, quite unexpectedly. In the year prior to their meeting, the writer already takes a look at their lives, put on paper, to show to the reader. Two lost souls making each other whole. But both say nothing to each other. Until it's too late!
A book full of emotions in which Cade and Ryann are central. A book that you would have liked to see ended with a HEA. But again, the author leaves us with a big question mark.
Whose eyes did Ryann feel burn into her back? And who is the writer of the letter? And why does this book end in an open ending?
Great story!.

I am ANGRY. This is the second book this weekend to end on a cliffhanger that I’ve read. I really liked this story and I was even bawling like a baby at the last chapters, but then I got HIT WITH THAT CLIFFHANGER?! And no mention of a second book?! I NEED MORE!! I can’t even find the author on social media to blow them up and yell at them for putting me through this pain; my heart needs more of Cade and Cole and Marty and Rynn I need to know what happens!!!
I do have to say I agree the ending was rushed in comparison to the rest of the story, but regardless I enjoy it and I can’t wait for a sequel!
I received this arc on exchange for an honest and free review
Fix You by JC Doan is a good, and enjoyable young adult romance read. The story has a good story line. The characters are good, and they have good chemistry. . I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Well this was a different type of read for me. We go back in time a little bit to where Rynn's rough life takes a bad turn changing the course of her future. At the same time a few states away Cade is also hitting a pivotal moment in his life. Jump forward a year where each of them decide to take off from their homes choosing to start over far away. This is where they finally meet one another ultimately deciding to start over together as friends helping one another during tough times. Life doesn't miraculously get easy but they try. Unfortunately things take a very ugly turn ending quite different from what I expected. Makes for a gripping take of two young adults trying for a better life even when things take an unexpected turn it two. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
I volunteered to read i this ARC for an honest review. This was a story about Cade and Rynn. She's living a rough life in Alabama and he's trying to keep his head above water in North Vegas. When they finally break free they end in in Minnesota. After running into each other they find themselves becoming friends. But someone is watching them and coming after them. . this book is a quick read. Cade and Rayan make each other promises, they're both broken and Rayan is pregnant and on the run. their relationship builds so naturally and the darkness is balanced out my the humour the ending nearly killed me but I'm hooked.
PPS read it twice there are things that you will pick up on the second time through. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The beginning of the book was quite slow in my opinion, but once I got to part 2, I was hooked. The author did great at creating engaging characters, and keeping the plot moving, even till the end. However I wish that it could have been longer, or we could have gotten a bigger, more detailed buildup of the relationships. Some parts felt they moved too fast, and there were large time jumps.
While the story itself was enjoyable, I did find the pacing a bit slow. The first half of the book was a lot slower than the second, but it still didn't really ruin the book. I did enjoy the author's writing style, and I'm open to reading more of their work in the future. The characters were well-written, and the storyline itself was interesting. My only problem was the pacing, honestly.
I received a gifted copy of this book via Rockstar Book Tours in exchange for an honest review.
I thought that this was a very intriguing read. This quick read kind of has its own feel to it that I honestly think is either going to click with you or not. It's just one of those books. For the most part I was into it. The pacing to start is sort of slow but it does pick up. The story itself is quite gritty and engaging and as for the characters they grabbed and held my interest. This is my freely posted, frank review.
The story was a bit slow paced at starting but then WOAH! It started catching the pace and the ending was DOPE! The characters were broken but it was intresting to read them. Not my first of the author and I am again impressed.

just please check tw before reading it, there are heavy topics mentioned, so read trigger warnings!!

LESSONS LEARNT FROM THE STORY
💓Drug abuse is taking pills without medical prescription and being on narcotics.
💓No sin can separate us from the love of God as was told Rynn Lewis by the woman
💓To care for ourselves as we care for others and allow others care for us.
💓Introverts like Cade hate being at the centre of anyone's attention.
APPLICATION OF LESSONS LEARNT FROM THE STORY
There's lesson to be learnt in dealing with people. Personally I do not like being at the centre of attention even a negative attention
Wow, Fix You by J.C. Doan blew my mind. It was an amazing story about the lives of Cade Henson and Rynn Lewis. Once I started reading their story I simply couldn't put it down. Cade and Rynn are both broken souls looking for a way out. They meet when Rynn is pregnant and on the run from her ex boyfriend. They form a connection that is undeniable but so complicated. And omg that ending had me screaming for the next book. Can't wait for more.
I really enjoyed the start of this Breakaway series, it does a great job in telling the story going on. The plot does a great job in telling the story and worked overall. I enjoyed how well the characters were written and it did a great job with them. I can't wait to read where this series will go.

This book is about two broken people (RYnn and Cade) who find each other in their time of need. They’ve both had a difficult life and leave their towns for a new life. They find each other when Rynn is mugged and Cade helps her out. From then on their lives become intertwined. It was an ok read for me, different to what I would normally read and ends in a cliffhanger
