* REKKER *

On the eve of being sent to retrieve a mysterious artifact, he's sent something just as enigmatic.

A human woman, lush and curved.

His mate.

Even worse, she wants nothing to do with him.

His blood burns for her, but the need to make her happy overrides everything.

He'll find a way to set her free, even if it means he'll be alone. Forever.

But when danger comes from an unexpected source, they're thrown together. And when his mate turns to him, he'll protect her.

Keep her.

Claim her.

Lila Kanes never wanted any thing but a quiet life on her family farm. She certainly didn't want to be claimed by a massive alien mate.

Thrown into the stars, she'll do whatever it takes to find a way home.

Back to Earth.

Back to her family.

She couldn't possibly want to stay with the hot, horned alien with the amazing body, who made her feel like the most precious thing in the universe, could she?

Right?

* KYRE *

He was looking for resources. What he found was his mate.

Ship's engineer and all-around fix-it warrior Kyre is focused on one Finding the rare mineral he needs to boost the comms signal so his crew can get the rest of the intel for their mission.
But in the desert, he finds so much more. His mate, feisty and strong.

And very, very pissed off.

She makes his blood burn, but can he get her to stay still long enough to listen?

Ferne has spent her life hiding from the lottery. One slip down a mountainside and a trip to the hospital later, and she's matched, whisked away from she life she loves.

There's no way she'll love the alien warrior she's been matched with.

Not a chance.

Probably not.

But why did he have to be sweet and strong and hot, all in one giant horned package?

* CEDROC *

Cedroc has lost too much to risk his heart again. The brilliant pilot has never expected to survive.
Finding his fated mate? Not a chance.

Until suddenly, there she is. Soft and luscious, setting his blood on fire.

Threatening every wall he's put up.

He shouldn't allow it. Should keep her out.

But when the Suhilk war comes too close to his mate, there's only one option.

Protect her. Claim her.

And destroy everything that threatens her.

* DERRIX *

Derrix figured a mate would be nothing but asking for trouble.
For heartache.
Heartbreak.

When the teleporter delivers another luscious human female, he can only hope she's not for him.

But she is.

And unlike the other women, she's happy and excited about her new adventure. They're about to move into a new, dangerous phase of the mission.

How can he keep her, and his heart, safe?

* JAVIK *

He's ready for his mate. Wants her. Needs her.

For the series ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 rounding up!

The premise of this series is that due to a deal Earth struck with the Vaznik warriors whereby Earth gives them women who are genetic matches to Vaznik warriors as mates. The Vaznik were poisoned by another species (slavers and sex traffickers called the Suhlik) and can only have male children. These are the stories of one unit of Vaznik warriors who were entered into the lottery after a successful mission. They are also immediately being sent on a secret (very suspect) mission to a distant planet.

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Rekker is the captain of the ship and they just returned from combat. Out of the blue, Rekker matches with Lila, a farmer who has no desire to be a mate and puts up a huge fight. But they’re also actual fated mates not just genetic ones. On their way to the new mission she starts to fall for Rekker which he makes pretty easy by just wanting to make her happy and give her what she wants including returning to her family. Anyway they rescue some people taken by the slavers, she’s almost killed in the process but decides to stay with Rekker permanently. I liked how mature he was in how he handled the whole thing and I like how she tried to roll with things once she wasn’t so shocked.

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Kyre is the engineer of the team and was tasked with increasing their communications ability. While out in the desert, a woman named Ferne is teleported to him. She has been living illegally since she became of age to avoid the lottery but was caught after a climbing accident. She rages against the whole thing and is understandably upset. They are also fated and Kyre falls quickly for her determined spirit. Eventually things settle between them but it takes an attempted runaway and kidnapping for Ferne to realize she wants to be with him. I like how the women support one another and how they each have found a way for their skills from their old lives to be useful. The guys aren’t restricting them or preventing them from having agency. I’m enjoying it. The chemistry with these two was great.

⭐️⭐️.5Cedroc is the pilot of the unit who is rather sarcastic but unemotional. He gets paired with a bratty rich girl named Coralie who at first believes it’s all fake so her father can punish her. She is really really irritating in the beginning which I know is the point but eventually she’s less irritating. I had a hard time connecting with her character honestly though I do admire her determination to try to do things. Cedroc too for some reason. The overarching plot progressed as they met locals who told them where the artifact they’re looking for is. This book gets props for character development for sure. Not sure why it didn’t do it for me as much

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Derrix is the weapons expert of the group and he really doesn’t want a mate so when he gets an enthusiastic mate who volunteered to be a mate he doesn’t know what to do with her besides try to break her during training so she doesn’t try to come on the dangerous mission. Wiley deals with his hot and cold BS for a while which would be beyond me. Wiley just wants adventure and she gets it in this story. They go find the artifact, are nearly sacrificed for their trouble and these struggles are what bring them together. I thought the chemistry was good if muted a bit because Derrix fought it so hard. I liked how Wiley was upfront, enthusiastic and willing to give Derrix the space he needed.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Javik is the medical and science officer and I felt so bad for this guy. The romantic who just wants love ends up with the mate who’s there for the transaction with no plans on staying or raising their child. Addie is there to help her and her brother escape poverty but she’s honestly quite unpleasant and fake at the beginning I guess because she kept trying to seduce him by getting all sugary. Javik resists her for quite a while and then there an incident with them and the artifact at which point things get weird. They do resolve their issues and by that I mean Addie realizes she can’t go through with her original plan. This wasn’t my favourite of the series plot wise but I appreciate the characters, how Javik stuck to his values and what was really important to him even when she pushed.

Nice

I liked the characters in this series. They all had such interesting qualities. The stories were really interesting too. I think the sex scenes were a little excessive. They seemed to be thrown in to take up space and lengthen the book. They seemed to get longer and longer and it finally got to the point I started flipping pages to get past it.

Vaznik Warriors Books 1-5

Ms York and Starr Huntress have written a fascinating set of books that keeps a reader involved and interested through out each book. Interweaving each book and characters with the previous book and in the end all end up together is a treat.

What a whirlwind

Because of a treaty, genetically compatible earth women are teleported to aliens. This series covered a crew and their ship as they traveled the uni else. One adventure after the other and all are HEA.

Vaznik Warriors book one - five

Totally immersed in this series. The alien and human romance was off the hook. There is plenty of romance, intrigue wars, kidnapping and excitement.

This series was an interesting read and well written. Enjoyed it very much. The MMCs are sexy and likeable and for me, the horns were easy to just mentally get rid of them while reading. The MFCs were also likeable and interesting counterparts to the males. Each has their own HEA at the end of each book.
