Yajima and Outomi's relationship is changing, They are not just 'close friends' anymore. They are exploring the changing dynamics and contemplating the path it would take them. At the start of any relationship, There is confusion, chaos, reflection and doubt. Yajima and Outomi experience it all but, they are sincere and do not take the other for granted. It is wonderful to see that.
I liked the original Dear Green manga, but this prequel about how the main characters got together feels...slow and dull. Also, when I got to the end, I was like, "Wait, it's not over yet?" I do like that it's Otoumi, who in the original story seemed like the more passive one in the relationship, is making all the moves...but other than that, I don't have much good to say about it.
