Jenna Gray is a strong, independent woman who needs a way to support herself now. She had an old betrothal contract to marry Trent King, but she doesn’t want to be dependent on anyone. All she wants from him is that he signs over the family restaurant to her so she can make a living and she will excuse him from the betrothal promise their parents set up.

Trent is a grizzly shifter who enjoys being the family playboy. But when Jenna tracks him down about signing over the restaurant, his bear knows she is his mate. She is still not interested in the marriage, however. Can Trent find a way to change her mind? He has never had to work to get a woman before, but he cannot walk away from his true mate! How can he win her love?

This is my first time reading from author Kristal Dawn Harris. I must say that I was hooked from the very beginning. I just love the passion, chemistry and attraction between these two bears. Trent King is the player/ Heartbreaker. Jenna is the girl trying to put herself back together again. What did she expect when she went into the lions den????? Definitely not what happened!! Hey what can you do when fate gets in the way. Nothing but enjoy the ride.

Trent has never wanted to settle with one woman. These two are in for a surprise when they meet. They will get a chance to have what they need and want thanks to being fated mates.

This was a fun fast read by a new-to-me author. I found the characters interesting - and sassy ;P The setting was classic - he's a play boy and she's not interested. Fate decided otherwise, though, and, after much work, they do find their HEA. I haven't read any of the other books to the series but easily fell into this story and didn't feel lost.

Trent and Jenna. What to say about them? They had a great start. Total chemistry from the first moment. Jenna is a strong character and she made Trent work for her love. Something that he as a playboy, he has never had to do. Its a real good story. The dialogue really sets the mood for the characters.

Trent was a playboy and Jenna didn’t want him. She had lost everything including her home in Alaska so she stalked him to get her family restaurant back and make into a bakery. Trent worked to get her to accept him as her mate and it all worked out. Good book!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story about Jenna and Trent. Trent is a playboy bear shifter and he meets his fated mate in a nightclub where she comes to tell him that she dissolves the marriage contract between them that their parents had set up when they were very young cubs, but wants the ownership of her parents restaurant.

Trent recognises that she has his fated mate and he doesn’t agree that they go their seperate ways. Jenna also recognises that Trent is her mate, but she is determined not to be. But fate has other plans for the two of them and they eventually have their happily ever after.

This is a quick read with a good storyline. Trent is known as a playboy and at the club he uses to find his one night stands, he is suddenly assaulted by the scent of honey suckle and feels like he is being stalked. When he and Jenna look into one another eyes, he instantly knows she is his mate. She knows it too, but all she wants is her family restaurant back and she will release him from the marriage contract. Loved it.

After having read the entire series of 5 books, I can say I am somewhat disappointed in them. I understand that multiple writers were involved but they should have at least agreed upon certain aspects of the storyline. The 1st book seemed to be unfinished. All 5 boys needed to be married/mated in 6 months but some timelines in the series spoke of being months out from meeting and one actually mentioned that they spent the past year getting to know one another.

'Seducing His Mate' by Kristal Dawn Harris is part of the multi-author Shifter Mail-Order Brides Series and tells the story between Trent King and Jenna Gray. Trent and Jenna are both bear shifters who grew up in Kingston although her family left when she was young. Now Jenna is back with an offer for Trent. It turns out there is a marriage contract arranged by their parents when they were children. Jenna has learned that Trent is quite happy being a bachelor and enjoying a plethora of women, he has no intention of settling down. Jenna proposes that he signs over her old family restaurant to her and she will excuse him from the betrothal promise their parents set up. Trent and his bear is too taken with Jenna's honeysuckle scent, her take charge attitude, and everything about her, so he comes up with a different proposal.

Ms. Harris has written a charming addition to the series. The interactions between Jenna and Trent are sweet and steamy. Although this book is short it is well written with great characters, witty dialogue, and an interesting plot. I enjoyed this book and recommend it to anyone who likes a quick but satisfying read with their glass of wine.

Stuff Your Kindle Day

I received this book for free on Stuff Your Kindle Day. I would not have otherwise purchased this book. I gave this short romance 2 stars as it did keep my attention. In reality, I would probably give it 1.5 stars as I can't physically give half stars.

Throughout the short book, the romance between the two main characters lacked chemistry and they immediately jumped to being mates. I understand that in an 84 page novella there really can't be as much of a slow build that leads to an explosive climax, but I had hoped for more. It honestly felt like there was no time to get to know the main characters let alone the minor characters.

Trent and Jenna just didn't have it. They just jumped right in with very little protest despite Jenna not wanting to be his mate. There was nearly no conflict either. Jenna is poor and Trent is rich and there's a document her dead dad had saying they're betrothed. That's pretty much it. This lack of conflict led to the book being rather boring.

Bear shifters Trent and Jenna have a marriage contract from when they were young and neither wants it to happen. He is a playboy and she wants a life of her own with her family restaurant, which his family now has. They confront each other and all their plans go out the window when they realize they really are fated mates. Futures change drastically as feelings come into the mix. The characters are well done with intense feelings and great banter. The storyline follows their romance with plenty of drama, surprises, twists, steam, family and friends, support and much more. Loved their chemistry and how their fight for their own futures merges into one. Great ending.

The authors definitely didn't get together to discuss details like ages and living arrangements lol Jenna says she's 28 and there's a picture of Jenna and Trent as babies so that means he's also 28. Lucas and Diana's book was 7 years after high school so they would be about 25. Lucas is said to be the oldest brother. This book COULD be 4 years later but the brothers had 6 months to get their brides.
Also, does any of the authors know what a mail order bride is?
I was disappointed with this short read. It was way too short to have the heroine going back and forth so much in her inner monologs

So good but too short, I wanted more. Such a realistic romance compared to other shifter matings. Love a determined male with control.
