So this is a sequel to "Nemureru Mori no Binan" with Tomoi here returns from Japan with no Dr Richard in sight. I suppose he was still married so possibly went back with the wife?? Kinda odd the author just wiped him off like ok.......lol

Yknow at the very beginning he comes back, the Tomoi character is like a pest where he just wouldn't stop being inappropriate with the first guy (he wasn't well written so don't know who he actually was tbh, I read this story twice!). The dude literally couldn't stop using his paws like perv F off! I didn't really appreciate the fact they made the female leads (the highschoolers and the fiancée that's one of Tomoi's lovers) out to be the baddies. It's possibly only how I felt but it was the way it felt to me anyways...

After the lover dies, Tomoi goes to Pakistan as there is a ongoing war going on and when himself and the rest of his companions were involved, we are only just seeing lying on the ground injured.

While I did think the author covered important historical events that happened in the 80's- 90s like the AIDS crisis and the war in Pakistan, I did not feel emotions for the characters and story tbh. It was pretty a meh reading experience with a underdeveloped abrupt ending.

بمووتتت ;( مااتوقعت ولا واحد بالمية يكوونن كذااااا!! الحبكة حبكة فلم والله مو ان مصدوم كامل بس مصدوم ان الحبكة بماانجااا! لأن تابعت فلم حبكة الشابتر الثاني تشبهه *_* اه فعلا تأثرتتتت وااهععع يدي كانت على فمي عدة مرات والله, مقدر و فوقه قرأته فالكمبيوتر و ايضًا اكتب الريفيو معاه, بينما اتجمد بردًا.

Cerita Tomoi tergolong berat untuk shoujo manga. Dulu saya pernah membaca resensinya, ternyata setelah membaca sendiri, ceritanya jauh lebih berat dan suram dari yang saya bayangkan. Manga ini bersettingkan tahun 1982, saat AIDS masih ditakuti karena belum banyak orang tahu apa sebenarnya penyakit AIDS. Akisato - sensei menggambarkan ketakutan dan prasangka buruk orang pada kaum gay yang dianggap penyebar AIDS.
Hal lain yang menarik dari Tomoi adalah konflik batin yang dialami karakter utama. Ketika Stein meninggalkannya, Tomoi tidak bisa menahan karena secara mental ia memang belum siap. Ketika Marvin terkena AIDS, Tomoi yang kini sudah jauh lebih dewasa bersikap berani dengan mengajak pasangannya itu menikah. Perkembangan karakter Tomoi tidak dibuat terburu - buru. secara pelan namun pasti kita bisa melihat perubahan sikap Tomoi yang belajar dari pengalaman pahitnya dahulu.
Ending yang diberikan sensei sangat berkesan. Memang pada akhirnya Tomoi tewas, namun ia tewas bukan karena mencari kematian, namun demi menyelamatkan kehidupan. Jika Tomoi dibuat tetap hidup, saya rasa manga ini tidak akan meninggalkan kesan yang dalam.
Terlepas dari unsur percintaan sesama jenis , saya sangat menganjurkan manga ini pada pembaca yang menyukai cerita serius dan bermutu, karena Tomoi meninggalkan pemikiran yang patut kita renungkan mengenai kehidupan dan hubungan sesama manusia.
